Hex wasn't about to let this opportunity pass him up, he new his girl wasn't very sociable so, instead of taking her out in to the party, he brought the party to her." oh where oh where could my sweet beautiful floof be." he asked aloud as he wondered in to her room and peeked around the corner. looking around for her, i got something sweet for you, so why don't you coke out to play? ill feed you" he said cheerfully. he had brought home one of the sweetest and best treats he could find at the festival. he shook it gently as the smell of chocolate peppermint bark filled the room. ignore spoiler stalking pick
Beryl had missed the last Winter Solstice because of school work, she had been trying to get all her work done but forgot one important essay she had to do. Beryl did not ever get to finish her essay, and thus had to go and do make up work. Beryl had been sitting at her desk sketching, when she saw the plushie set down on her desk, she put her sketch book down, and looked at Azure, and grabbing the plushie and cuddles it, "I would love to". Beryl smiled at him, and held up a little bag of peppermints, and also handed him something blue and cuddly.
Jie nodded. "It's hard to see each one individually when they're falling--sometimes you get lucky and they land on something without melting and you can see what they look like. They are quite beautiful. Other than that, you have to rely on photographs." She smiled. "Honestly, I'm not really that fond of snow. It's much too cold for my tastes."
Her turn for a riddle was next, and she was pleased to have gotten the answer--stockings! Very appropriate. Her prize was a golden boa that she wrapped around herself with glee.
Ciel nodded. "I don't mind snow that much," she said. "It gives adults an excuse to play outside or to sit inside and enjoy a fire and good company. But I can see why the cold would be a little too off-putting."
Her riddle's answer was, appropriately enough, a fireplace. Her prize was a boa. She let Jie choose the color for her--some people could get antsy about colors. She wrapped it around herself and leaned against the Bakeneko.
Ebene took another try at pin-the-heart, and she was mildly gratified to win a set of candy canes in the color of her alma mater house. (Besides which, they were purple, and she loved purple!)
Anchriesel took the offered candy cane with a murmur of thanks while the vendor nodded. "Sure, go ahead!"
The young men needed no second bidding. They played again, with much the same result as last time--Chries won a pair of purple antlers and a stuffed fennekit.
Naihilus's luck was the same as his last turn, for which he was quite grateful. He won a set of candy canes that he stuck in a pocket of his shirt. "Your turn again, Chries."
Reda knew that Heru loved sports and activity games, but it seemed that no one wanted their child to be athletic. It was sad, but it was also true. They led their children on to the next set of games, a beanbag toss. At least there, Heru wouldn't be ostracized. Reda went first and won a blue mug that she thought Evelyn might quite like, assuming she didn't have it already.
Darryl was glad to get away from the way-too-active games. A beanbag toss was about all he wanted to tax his body with at the moment. He threw his bags carefully and won a snowflake bracelet and a stuffed seal that he quite liked.
Foo! Heru had been ready to run the course again. Well, slither it, of course, but the point remained! Oh well, she could roll with a beanbag toss, she guessed. She won a bracelet of her own, as well as a stuffed yellow cat. "Can we do something exciting now?" she asked her parent.
Eidil shrugged as she lined up a shot. "I don't think your mom would see us as imposing, Cal. You know she likes to see us." She threw her dart carefully, which earned her a glowing blue necklace.
Callessa sighed. "I know, I just..." She couldn't explain it, not exactly. She lined up a shot and won the same blue necklace that Eidil had. It was a beautiful shade of blue, and both young women loved the color blue (and the color yellow).
Lee stepped forward for his own turn. He did pretty well at the snowball toss, but he didn't pick up a bucket of snowballs. Instead, he opted for an antler headband and a stuffed vespercat.
Aura got to go again, so they did, gladly. They threw their fake snowballs and came away with a bundle of peppermint candy canes. Well, that was something!
Melisara was pretty happy with her new pet kidden, but the day wasn't over yet. This time they moved on to a ring toss, one of the old staples. Sara needed a few tries, but she did eventually get a ring around a post. Her prize was an antler headband--she picked the red and green one.
Denidar was a little more successful than his sister--he won a pair of antlers and a stuffed, Hallowed cat.
Raniol's luck continued to mirror his twin's--his cat plushie was yellow, and his headband was brown (they didn't have anything in yellow or orange).
Yaviss took a deep breath. He knew everyone in his half of the party, but not everyone in general. Zuna was...well, she was Zuna, and Mary hardly knew anyone at all. That meant that it was up to Yaviss to introduce his half of the group. Greaaaaaat.
He shuffled awkwardly up to Quilo and the other half and gestured. "Hey," he said. "Um, I'm Yaviss. The Naiad is Zuna, and this is Mary. Um, Xyla will be along soon, she just had to finish developing some film."
Someone brushed past and handed him a set of green candy canes. He stuck them in his pocket and waited.
Zuna nodded. She didn't stick out a hand--she hated shaking hands, and it was pretty safe to assume that most people didn't like it, either. "Yup," she said. "But Xyla says it's okay if we move on. She'll catch up with us later, she says."
The candy-cane giver handed her a set of blue candy canes, which she accepted with a graceful nod.
Fenaret lead the way to their next stop, a catapult game. Fena hadn't had the opportunity to play a game like this before, so he was pretty excited. He did a lot better than he had expected to. He won a stuffed sealpup and a purple bucket of fake snowballs, perfect for playing with his brother.
Francesca was about as successful as Fena, though slightly more enthusiastic. Heck yeah, catapults! He won a stuffed kidden, plus a blue bucket of snowballs.
Takaroa's luck continued unabated. This time, he had moved on to a bowling game, so his next skyfish was a prize rather than a remora. Still--!
Verity tried the catapult game but had no luck. Honestly, it wasn't really her style of game. But she did see one thing that caught her eye--there was someone arranging Fennekit adoptions at a booth here! She led the boys over to the booth and chatted with the Fallen running the adoptions. It took a little while to negotiate, but Verity came away with a very fluffy, very cute Fennekit under her arm.
Of course, she asked Shera first--she'd gotten the stinkeye for bringing something home without warning before (she looked over at Fenaret as she thought about that). But Shera's response was a smiley face, which she pegged as a good sign. Besides, this little dear was just...too cute not to bring home!
Mary nodded at the strangers. She'd never met anyone here before, which meant that she was trusting to Xyla's judgment, as well as the judgment of two strangers she didn't know (Yaviss and Quilo). Eh. She could defend herself if need be, and by defend, she of course meant run away as fast as she could slither.
The candy cane Elf (for it was, indeed, an elf) handed her a bundle of purple candy canes. Eeeey, nice! Purple was one of her favorite colors.
Xenophon nodded. He'd heard about at least two of these people, though Mary was unfamiliar. "I'm Xenophon," he said. "This is my little sister, Nkiruka." He felt Ruka put her hand in his and squeeze tight. Ah. She was nervous. That was understandable.
The candy cane elf decided to give him a book instead of candy canes, but honestly, he didn't mind. Xeno loved books.
Nkiruka was beginning to have doubts. What if her brother and his, ew, boyfriend were wrong? She clutched her brother's hand tight, barely blinking an eye when the candy cane Elf handed her a stuffed fennekit and some candy canes. "Thank you," she whispered, hugging them tight. Strange teenagers and a strange adult? Worse and worse...
Quilo smiled at the newcomers. "It's nice to meet you, Mary," he said. "I'm Quilo. Xeno's my boyfriend." He looked over at Yaviss and Zuna. "I'm sure she'll catch up," he said. "I've sort of been excited to meet her for a while, actually." Basically ever since he'd heard about Xyla. She sounded nice, like a kindred spirit.
The candy cane Elf offered him a candy cane bundle, but he shook his head. "Do you have any hot cocoa?"
"Sure thing," they said. They held out a try of hot drinks. Quilo took a purple mug of hot cocoa and smiled.
"Thank you very much," he said. "Have a happy solstice."
Cuileann decided to put away her book for now and enjoy the festivities. Turning her head in each direction something caught her eye and she wandered over to see a small area that had lovely familiars!!! She was happy since she was hoping to be able to obtain a friend for her lovely waiting at her dorm. Hmmm now what do I want to bring back one that is friendly and will be happy with us was her first thought. Carefully looking at each one she took her time in her decision finally making it and pointing. You!! You are perfect, she said as she reached out to gently pick it up. Hope you will be happy with me and my lovely, with that she turned and walked towards her dorm
Realizing he needed to get some work done, Lokni decided to walk around until he found a nice comfy spot for him to sit and observe the weather and how it affected those around him. Glancing about he quickly found a nice bench that had a slight curve to it perfect for him to sit and watch. Settling in he began to "race watch" and was so engrossed in what he was seeing he lost track of time.
Karayas was becoming over excited from all the different games, treats and prizes all around her. Her bubbly personality was beginning to shine brightly and she felt abuzz with the excitement. She was running around taking in all the sites, going from one table to the next. Laughing as she did so she spied a table with candy, walking over giggling she asked for a lollipop and was given a lovely red one. Happy she skipped off to see what other treats lay in store for her.
Kayndie was wandering all over the festival looking for old friends from different classes when a small booth caught her eye with lovely bracelets hanging from what looked like a snowmare. Despite herself she giggled and sauntered over and with a twinkle in her eye decided up on one for herself.
Iason was really overdoing it on the sweets his stomach was bubbling now. He knew he ate to much but he could not help it, the flavors of candy from this time of year was his favorite. Looking around for a booth to get a drink he spied a small round table with candy canes on it, drooling he couldnt help himself. He walked over and took one and happily began to munch much to the dismay of his stomach.
Cleo sighed, clutching to her plant as she continued to roam the grounds. It was a good plant - as were all plants - and she was trying to think of a name when she bumped into another freshling. Quinn turned and grinned lazily at her, tossing her a bracelet before even asking if she was interested. "Here, this will suit you," he said casually, before strolling away. Cleo glared at him as he left, not enjoying people assuming things about her. Nevertheless, she enjoyed the colour and slipped it gingerly around a wrist, making sure to cover it with a sweater sleeve. She glanced back at Quinn - who was now selecting a rather gaudy light-bulb necklace from a nearby stall - and hoped he didn't see her put it on. How embarrassing.
Wrapped snugly in their boas, Bebe and Teto walked hand-in-hand between the stalls. "You know what I could go with?" she asked, scanning the grounds. Teto shook her head and looked at her friend quizzically; how could anyone know what she was ever thinking? The bakeneko grinned, clearly spotting what she was after. Dragging her friend, she guided the two of them to a hot cocoa stall. "Oh! How did you know I was thirsty?" Teto asked playfully. "I always know what you're after, Tails. When will you learn?" she asked with faux-exasperation as she purchased two cocoas.
Feeling rather frustrated with the previous exchange, Raven grumpily made his way to a sweets stand. Thomas almost wanted to laugh at the angsty kid, but thought better of it. "Looks like you could do with some sweetness, sweetheart," he said with a smile, tossing the demon a stack of candy canes. Raven shot him a look of pure disdain and Thomas couldn't help but snort this time. Worried he might be scolded by the severe child, he quickly diverted the conversation, "cool bracelet, where'd you get it?" Raven glanced briefly at his wrist before rolling his eyes and sticking a thumb towards the bracelet stall. "I wouldn't bother, old man," he spat and began to walk away, speaking over his shoulder, "doubt you could pull off an accessory that isn't a walker." Thomas laughed heartily at the retreating figure, helping himself to a bag of mints. "Don't even turn out like that, will you, honey?" he said to Essurio, although it was suddenly apparent to him that the little demon had wandered off. Oh well, more free stuff for him.
Zeerah looked mournfully towards Xero, who'd already apparently lost interest in the book. He was about to suggest they get a cup of cocoa when he heard a buzzing by his ear. Curious, he looked up and around only to discover a number of fluffbugs zooming through the sky. Zeerah grinned and began snatching at them, nudging his brother to encourage him to do the same. "Come on Ghoul, you can do freaky experiments on 'em or something," he suggested, just wanting his brother to show some interest in something. Xero raised an eyebrow - more emotion than he usually showed in a week - and examined the flying creatures. He studied their flight mannerisms for a moment or two, before shooting out a hand and catching one with ease. It was black and white and buzzed at him absent-mindedly. "Why is it not leaving?" he asked with curiosity. "Must like you, bro. Who knows why, eh?" he joked as a more excitable fluffbug - clearly amused with the little game of chase it had experienced with this strange hybrid - landed on his shoulder. "Lookit that, we have a matching pair of familiars!" he exclaimed happily, using a finger to pat the green fluffbug on its soft head.
While Essurio had appreciated the naga's kindness, she wasn't one to stay and chat with strangers. Despite that, she was beginning to feel slightly less tense as she walked around, nibbling on the candyfloss. She'd barely walked around for five minutes when a nearby stall-owner called out to her. Looking at him with all four of her big, purple eyes, she tottered forward. It was a toy stand and the man was giving them away for free! Her eyes widened as she looked at all the wonderful plushies, although her gaze lingered most on a blue, winged jackalope. The stall-owner grinned and handed over the toy, explaining that it came with matching antlers. "Oh... I... thank-you very much," she mumbled, barely managing to put them on her head while balancing the food and toy.
with that azure held her by the hand and kissed her nose " thank you for the adorable gift." he said as he pulled out his sweater and slipped it on over her as he carefully lifted her hair out from under and took her by the arm with his, as he walked with her he kept her close his wing draped around her to keep her warm and block the cold, when they arrived he saw a few stands and went over to one buying her a cute bracelet as he rushed back with it and slipped it on her wrist. " so my dear what would you like to do? ill do anything you want to." he said as he held her hand threw the sleeve of his sweater

Beryl blushed a little, Azure was her sweetheart and every thing he did even if it was something small that was not worthy of it she blushed. Beryl watched, and followed azure over as he went to one of the booths, she saw a lot of bracelets and as she saw him get a bracelet, she blushed again as she felt him slip it on her wrist. Beryl reacted, by grabbing a bracelet off the table paying for it and also putting it on azures wrist. Though she was not expecting it, the nightmare at the counter handed her another item, she took it gently and blushed more hiding back in azures wings.
Mango, after setting up most of the hall, he decided to take a mini break. He grabbed the plushie he found earlier that day and made his way over to a chair that had a book in it. He picked up The Goblet of Secrets, sat down, and started to read out loud to the plushie in his arms.
He cant stay reading for long, but he couldnt wait to finish this chapter and the next. It was getting good.
Naihilus ended up going next--Chries was busy with a text on his phone. Nai felt a flash of irritation--it was plainly from Zalir. At that flash of irritation, he felt another one, this one instead directed at himself--why should he be upset? Zalir cared about Chries, and there Chries was, answering his phone in a prompt manner. Fine. Fair enough. Nai flipped over some cards, winning a bag of bark candy.
Anchriesel put his phone away, glowing inside with joy at the thought of even a simple conversation with Zalir. Back in the game, Anchriesel, back in the game. Memory games were perfect for Chries--he had an excellent memory. He won a book and a stuffed cat before turning to Nai. "Maybe we should leave before we win all of the prizes here."
Sound Lee got to pick the next game, so he tried the water squirting game that he'd first met Aurabelle at. They played two races--the first one Sound Lee won, earning him a stuffed vespercat. But the second one, Aurabelle won, which earned them a stuffed fennekit. Sound Lee picked up his consolation prize, a book, and tucked it into his stocking. "Where next?"
Aurabelle slipped the red bracelet they'd won as consolation prize in the first round onto their wrist. "Uh, dunno. Where do you want to go?"
Yaviss breathed a sigh of relief. Things seemed to be better now that the introductions were out of the way. After a brief discussion, they decided to go to the darts game. Yaviss's first throw was a miss, but his second and third darts won him a green bracelet and a stuffed vespercat.
