Theriar collected dishes and cutlery and laid them out so they could eat. "Thank you for showing me Trel, I really appreciate it." This place, this woman, felt somehow right to him. Like he belonged here somehow, weird as it may seem.

"Have you ever looked at the sky and wondered exactly where you belong?" He knew he was getting philosophical but he also couldn't help it. "Or how many others feel just like you at that moment?" He massaged his forhead. "I think...I belong in Matori. I haven't traveled far but this place feels right somehow."

Trelenwy began to portion out the soup, giving Theriar a more full bowl. He was a bigger person, after all, and she was used to surviving on less than most. She smiled the whole time, listening to him talk, and then sat.

"Of course I have," she said. it had been more often in the past, but who didn't wonder? The world was so big, and every person was so small... "Oh? Think you'll stay?" She selfishly hoped so. Theriar was good company.

She blew on her spoonful of stew before sipping it. Ah, yes. Much better than broth. "Thank you for the fish, by the way." Her large yellow eyes turned to him over her next spoonful.

Theriar gratefully spooned up his portion like a starving man. "I do yes, It feels right here." He reiterated. From the sand to the wind it all seemed to welcome him home.

"Your welcome, thank you for the stew." It tasted really really good to him, even if he was not used to the fishy taste it was a blessing when it hit his poor stomach.

"Thought you were gone for a long time," she said. But apparently he had been fishing. Why was he fishing? Curiosity? Money?

"Why fishing?"

"Well it felt like a long time, but I had to find something to do that would keep me in Matori, so I tried gathering coconuts, and other things, some beach combing as well, which I still find fun but its more of an older woman game I think. So then I tried fishing and well it seems to work for me. Its exciting and calming and I can get good at it and improve and make a living off it."

Nothing beat the magic of catching a fish. The thrill, the excitement, all of it. "I know I have to make enough money to support myself in this new place and I really believe that fishing is the way to do it."

Trelenwy nodded. Well then! Not only was she going to keep a friend, she had apparently helped him find his calling! Hopefully it was his calling, anyway. Life in Matori wasn't the easiest. Life in the jungle couldn't be all too easy either, though, could it?

"Good! Good, good. I know people." If he wanted a house, if he wanted to join a crew. She knew people. She could help. "We can be poor together." She winked at him.

He smiled with something tender in his eyes that he didn't even know was there. "I would like that." He spread his arms. "I love this world. I am ready to commit to it. So I hope your ready to put up with me."

He tucked his hand in his pouch and felt for the pearls he knew were there. Their smooth surface soothed him and reminded him of their mistress. The Mistress of Pearls. He wanted to give her something, something from his own home. So he found another thing that he kept in that pouch.

"Here, it is a kinfa claw, a charm of protection. I want you to have it."

"Of course!" she chimed. She didn't have many friends, and Theriar was a particularly good one. She was surprised when he offered her what she initially thought was a large tooth. Was it from one of those radaku things? Or a big shark? Had he had to battle a shark for his fish?!

Oh! A claw. She smiled up at Theriar, down at the claw, took it, and smiled to him again. "What's a kinfa?"

"A very beautiful large bird, they bond very closely with their people and grow with them over time, initially they are these cute fluffy things, but later on they become very large, big enough to ride in fact. They are very powerful and very popular. Very hard to get too."

Kinfa were complicated. "I found this under a nest one year and have kept it on me ever since. Now I want it to protect you."

Her smile turned to a grin, and Trelenwy cupped the talon in both hands like it was some magical talisman. A protection charm! How sweet!

"Thank you so much!" she said. "Could I make a necklace out of it? Or does that ruin it?" Otherwise it would be so easy to lose! She never wanted to lose it.

"Of course you can make a necklace out of it. I have some on mine see?" He gestrured at his necklace and anklet which were smaller then her claw. "These I got at the market. Not the nest." Her protection charm would be stronger because it had been found not bought to his thinking. And it was a bigger talon too.

"I'm so happy you like it."

Trelenwy nodded. Good! She hadn't met a talisman yet that was destroyed by drilling a hole in it, but she didn't want to take the chance with this one. She stood then and offered to take Theriar's empty bowl with a half, the other still clasping her talon.

It was getting late the day was collapsing in upon itself. Theriar yawned but was reluctant to leave. His heart told him to stay longer, Trel would have a lot more important information readily at hand then he could easily find with a matorian that he did not know.

"So where do you think is a good place for me to set up? There has to be some nice realestate left huh?"
PostPosted: Sun Nov 13, 2016 12:29 pm

The young woman nodded. There was still a lot of beach left in Matori. Theriar would undoubtedly want to be a bit closer to the wharf for fishing's sake. He would be surrounded by people. Hopefully it wasn't too unlike Jauhar to live in.

"I know builders," she said, taking his bowl to the sink to drop it off, "and fishermen. Shipwrights." She leaned on the counter then, her palms resting on the cool surface as she face Theriar back in the room.

"Come back soon. We'll figure out." She wasn't worried. She did want to help, though.

"I will," he promised. They chatted a little more, then he said his goodbyes and went back to his lonely little tree. But his heart sang because soon he would have a house and a boat and be free to live the life he wanted.

With Trelenwy's help he would be able to achieve his dream much easier then he would on his own. He owed her a lot and was ever glad to name her his friend.
