With him saying that he would wait for the fish she went off into the trees to find fruit. It took her maybe ten minutes and she had a small armful. Rajani hadn't gone too far into the trees either so she could see Lixes from her spot on a branch. He looked bored.
Rajani lifted a single brow as she looked down on him then at the fruit in her arms. With a mischievous smirk she took one of the fruits and threw it at the blonde. She had been aiming for his side so she hoped it wouldn't sting too much when it hit. Since he hadn't made any attempt to touch her, save for the space invading that had been more to see her spots, she didn't see the harm in being playful. Heck, she'd given him a nickname hadn't she?

Lixes leaned forward, hands resting in his lap, looking quite bored as he waited for the mud in the water to settle. Once that happened the trap was easier to see, allowing him to wait and watch as the fish started to reappear slowly but surely back in the area where he'd set up the trap. He lifted a hand, tucking some of the longer strands of his hair behind his ear, then went to tapping his fingers against his lap. It was a rather boring task, wasn't it? Maybe he aught to go about finding something else around the area to eat? The fish would catch themselves, Rajani was getting fruit, so maybe he could gather herbs or something else meat related? The question was forgotten as he got pegged in the side with a piece of fruit that made a sort of 'splat' sound against him. He gave a gasp, jerking to his feet, before starring down at the fruit that sat there. He blinked a couple times before looking up, looking for a moment confused before he called up, "Ahh... sorry! Was I supposed to be catching the fruit?" He hadn't really been paying attention to what she was doing so... maybe? Holding his hands up he said, "I'll catch the next one!"

Her laugh filled the air when the fruit hit him and it only grew more when he looked confused. Rajani took another fruit in hand and tossed it up then caught it as she smirked at Lixes. "I got ya!" When he held up his hands to catch the next she threw it at him, though this time without the intent to splatter him with it.
"Maybe if we make you sweet enough we can use you as bait for hunting." She called down to him. Rajani was still giggling at the fact that he had fruit juice on his side. Taking another two of the juicy fruits in hand she gave him a grin and threw them his way. She was still being somewhat playful and hoped he got splattered with at least one of them.

Lixes shifted his stance, hands up, waiting for the next of the fruits to be tossed his way since it seemed that he was supposed to catch them. He was starting to think that maybe he hadn't missed her telling him that and that instead it was some sort of game that Rajani was playing with him? One in which he needed to either catch or dodge the fruit, or at least that was what it felt like to him. "Eh? Naw, I think the only thing that I would lure in tasting of fruit would be a nondwa and you don't want to eat that. Those are far too dusty." The one time that he'd gotten into a tussle with one, way back when he was a youngling, he and a few others had ended up coated in glittering dust. Ever since then he'd been careful to given a wide berth so as not to end up glitter coated again. All the more reason to catch the fruits that were tossed his way he thought to himself as he lunged forward catching the two tossed his way one after the other, though the second one sort of ended up a bit squished in his hand. Oops... well, at least he'd caught it? The one up side to the poor catch... and at least the first one was alright. Setting them down, shaking off the excess juice, then held his hands up again and asked, "More incoming?"

She shook her head at him before she rolled her eyes. Although, seeing him covered in sparkling dust would be a lot funnier than seeing him covered in fruit juice. "Well I'm sure once you're all sparkly we could attract other animals." Her shoulders lifted slightly.
When he asked if there were more coming his way she nodded her head and managed to toss the remaining fruit to him with an underhand throw. It was softer and much easier to catch. Out of the corner of her eye Rajani saw Ethra go toward Lixes and she instantly knew what her familiar wanted. "Might be able to lure a few maglardilla out." When her insect tried to climb the hybrid boy she started to laugh again, though she did try to hide it.
"Well at least he likes you." It was the only thing she could think of to say. Rajani didn't want to yell at her beast but she didn't want him to get shooed away and accidentally hurt. So she tried to throw another fruit hoping it would splat just as the other had and get him to leave Lixes alone. Too bad she had aimed for the boy without realizing it. "Sorry Lixie, you might just have to be sticky sweet." Now she was full on snickering at him.

Lixes made a bit of a face, "I'd rather not do that again. There is nothing heroic about being covered in colorful nondwa dust." He said, certain that nobody would take him seriously if he was to get himself covered in that dust. Just the thought of it had him shaking his hair rapidly, tongue sticking out. At the mention of him being able to lure maglardilla he couldn't help but to grumble a little. That was probably the second to last thing that he wanted to lure in because he seemed to have no good luck when it came to maglardilla. Of course just as he thought that the on traveling with Rajani decided to take it upon itself to try bothering him. Giving a little sigh he nudged the creature away from him, not wnating to get climbed, tackled, or bitten by the creature. The way his luck ran with this particular species he knew that was basically the only thing that could happen with them. Of course as he struggled to hold back the chittering creature he found himself failing to catch more fruit, getting hit by another one... which had the girl above him laughing. He glanced up at her, then lifted a hand to rub it against his temples, certain now that maybe Rajani was picking on him? Walking over to the edge of the water checking the fish trap before he walked some distance from where it was set up, setting to work rinsing himself off best that he could. He did so quickly so as not to disturb the fish since those were the reason that they had come here initially. He couldn't risk scaring them off just because he didn't want to be bait for various insects. As he rinsed off he called back to Rajani, "I think I saw some fish! Once I am cleaned up I will check again and see if there is enough to make it worth closing the trap's entrance."

Again with the heroics? Rajani sighed and shook her head but couldn't help the chuckle when he rubbed his temples. When he went to wash off she made her way down the tree with the rest of the fruit in hand. Well he was no fun at all. She sighed and figured she better be serious again. By the time he called out to her she was already heading his way. "Alright." She waved at him to let him know that was fine though she didn't get close to the water.
"Just be careful in the water.." If something happened to him.. well he would be more or less on his own. Rajani couldn't swim and had a fear of water.

Giving a nod of his head he said, "I will be careful, don't worry! As a hero I can't let myself get taken down by something as mundane as a small river." He gave a grin, patting a hand against his chest, before he returned to cleaning up. Once he was washed up he hopped up to his feet, stretching out all over, before he looked over at his new friend once more, "I am going to check the trap. If it's ready what will happen is I am gonna slip into the trap through the tiny door then block it. I will toss the fish out onto the bank and it will be your job to club them!" Giving a nod he started forward, wading slowly and cautiously toward the door, then gave a smile. It looked as though there were a lot of fish within the trap of various types and sizes. It meant that the trap had worked pretty well and he hoped that there would be enough for Rajani's needs. Moving into the trap he was quick to block it off, only losing one or two of them before he was able to shut the trap off from the rest of the river. Clapping his hands together he said, "There are some in here! Let me get them for you, Rajani!" He then turned to the trap and set to work catching the by hand, tossing them onto the bank next to Rajani.

Mundane? Rajani looked at the water then at him. A slightly worried look on her face. She supposed someone who could swim would find it to be harmless but to her it was dangerous.
She watched him closely as he made his way into the trap and then once he closed it off she moved forward just a little. Rajani needed to be close enough to hit the fish in order to keep them from flopping their way back into the water. She just hoped that Lixes would throw them far enough away from the water.
When the fish started to land next to her she picked up her hammer and started to smack each on the head just hard enough to ensure that they wouldn't wiggle away.

Lixes watched as Rajani got into place, clubbing the fish that he'd tossed her way. Giving a smile he said, "Great work, Rajani! I will keep them flying your way. Once we've knocked them all silly we will gather them up so that you can take them back to your family." He gave a nod of his head before he continued to toss them her way. Once he got the trap emptied out he meant to open up the funnel entrance again, to allow more fish to enter. He'd come back for those ones himself for his own family. Right now though he was focused on Rajani's needs, not wanting to appear as though he were being selfish or something. "Alright! Here is the last one!" He said, tossing a good sized cat fish her way, the last of the ones in the trap, and a pretty good one to end with since it was a pretty impressive size. They were lucky the thing didn't try to crash through the trap straight away since that would have ruined all the work. He'd offer a prayer up to Aisha and Chi both, as well as Serin since she was surely on Rajani's side in all of this.

"Alright!" Rajani had to admit she was kinda having fun with this as well. She looked up when he said that he had the last one in hand. What she saw was a large cat fish flying at her and she giggled when it flopped it's way toward her after hitting the ground. "Stardust he's big." She smacked it with her hammer to keep it from wiggling any farther then looked at Lixes with a smile. "Got 'em."
She dropped her eyes down to the amount of fish laying on the ground around her then back at the blonde. "Did you need help getting some for your family?" Rajani figured she'd ask since he had helped her so much.

Lixes gave a grin, giving her two thumbs up, before he waded over to the entrance of the trap and opened it up once more. Once the thing was again open for the fish to wander into he headed for the shore, dragging himself out of the water before shaking his legs off, "Alright! All done! Do you think that is enough for you?" He asked of Rajani in a curious manner, wanting to make sure what fish they had been able to get were enough for her. As she asked if he needed help getting fish for his family he gave a shake of his head, "Naw, I should be alright! If I end up needing help I will be able to call my big brother in to help me out. He's strong so he is well versed at carrying things." Going and fetching Drexl would actually give the trap plenty of time to refill itself as well. So all that he had to worry about now was Rajani and if she had everything that she needed. "Do you have anything to carry the fish in? If not we can use some rope I have in my pack to tie them by the tails to a big stick and carry them back that way."

Rajani gave another giggle as she watched Lixes shake his legs. When he asked her if she thought they had enough for her and her family she looked down at all the fish, mentally counting them. "Hmn, it should be enough." Paired with the fruit she should have plenty to feed her bunch.
Hearing that Lixes could fetch his giant of a brother to help out she nodded her head. She'd forgotten about that. Giving her attention to the fish she moved a hand into her pack and took out her string and hook. "I have a way to get them home." She set to work on picking up each fish and carefully hooking the string through their mouths. At least she wasn't squeamish otherwise this would have been difficult. Once she had all of them she tied off the string and grinned up at the hybrid. "Thanks for the help Lixie." Hauling the string of fish up over her shoulder she moved to collect the fruit into her arms and grab her hammer. "I think I have everything. Do you know you're way out of the woods?" Since he was more or less a friend now she wanted to make sure he would be alright.

Lixes gave a pleased sort of smile, "That's good to hear! I'm glad that we were able to gather enough for your family." He said, moving to gather up his various things as she said that she had a way to bring the food home, "You have a way to get them all back? Alright! If you're certain then that's good." He was glad that she would be able to handle the fish was a good thing. He watched as she set to work picking up and hooking the fish, proving that she was strong enough to carry all of the fish on her own. It was pretty impressive indeed he thought to himself before giving a smile, "Yeah, no problem! It was fun!" As she asked him if he knew his way out of the woods he gave a nod of his head, "Yep! I've lived in this general area for a good portion of my life so I will alright." Putting his pack over his shoulder then resting his hammer against his other shoulder, "If you need anything else let me know, I tend to be roaming this area!" This was his homeland and as such he had to be the one to protect it! At least that was the plan he thought with a grin.

She might look all dainty and small but her years in servitude had given her a bit of hidden muscle. Rajani smiled and nodded when he said he knew the way. "Okay, then I'll head home before the fish spoil." Though she did arch a brow at him as he mentioned that he roamed the area. "Huh, well maybe we'll run into each other again." The shifter girl smirked and gave her final goodbye before heading off in the direction she knew home to be.
