Wouldn't just be one kiss I'd have to make up for then. Still, Kian just innocently nodded. "We'll see about that." He smiled and sipped on some soup. Though watching as she only picked at the food the male frowned. Was something wrong with the meal? He tasted it all and it seemed fine.

"Rho?" Blinking in confusion Kian watched as she left to go visit Wystia. Was that really it? Sighing, the male just sat back and decided to let the girl do as she pleased. He could get some of this packed away and ready to go. Some bread, dried meat, fruit, and maybe a container of soup to warm by the fire. Seemed like such a waste - he truly may have been looking forward to watching Rho stuff herself and be content for once.

Wystia blinked as the girl approached her, "Already?" The wind girl frowned, "If you're certain then I can take you now, but Ki- I mean your husband will have to follow once he's finished." She smiled before brushing some dirt from her apron, "Just follow me then, miss."

Leaving the room the girl walked through a hallway until she turned a corner towards a room at the end, "It's actually not usually given to guests as we let family stay here, so it should be nicer." Wystia pulled out a key and unlocked the door. Yet, as she turned back to give the other girl a key the woman frowned. "So...there truly isn't anything between you and Kian?" She bit her bottom lip with a light flush. "Not that it's any of my business...but I can't help asking."

"Actually well never mind, I'm sorry." Wystia shook her head and gave the key over to Rho, "He's not the type to settle though I wish...." She trailed off before shaking her head once more, "I hope I placed enough blankets down for you and Kian. If you need anything more just let me know. I need to get back to waiting on tables...so just call for me."

As if afraid of something the girl scurried away down the hallway and back out into the main area where a disappointed Kian leaned back away from his food thoughtfully. I'll give Rho some time alone. He closed his eyes briefly and rubbed his temples as if trying to figure something out - something that he wasn't even for certain of yet.

As they headed for the room, Rho couldn't seem to lift her head anymore. She was so tired all of a sudden. She just wanted to be alone...

The question to her relationship with Kian made her brow knit. "He's just makin' up fer bein' a jerk," she murmured, unsure if Wystia even heard her. She accepted the key, jaw twitching. Apparently, Kian had been so kind and helpful to Wystia. He should have stayed here with someone so welcoming to him and left her alone...

After the woman scurried off, Rho stepped into the room and shut the door roughly. All at once, tears of frustration and sadness overflowed her eyes. She had hoped that Sauti would mean something to her. She had hoped that being there, in any Sautian town, would jog her memory. That she would feel like she'd come home... but she felt none of that. Just the memory of a pet...

Heading for the bed, she stopped short and let out a whining sob of a groan. There was only one bed in the room. Kian... Why had she cared that someone was flirting with him? He was just a liar! Anyone could take him, for all she cared! She dropped onto the bed and pressed her face into the pillow, trying to tell herself that there were still places to look...

She didn't realize how much she had been hoping until that hope was met with nothing in return.

As much as flirting around normally tempted the male tonight he couldn't focus on the faces in the crowd. Not even Wystia held his interest as he packed up from the meal. I suppose I'm done here. It was a shame really...he gave one last lingering gaze about him before going on down the hallway. He knew the place well enough to remember his own lodging. It had been a much better, more private option than staying with that loud caravan all night.

Still, he had to pause. Did he go in and bother her or not? Pacing back and forth through the hallway Kian sighed. Who could believe this? Here he was reduced to being patient and waiting on a woman! Before he would have just blown his way in and had his way....well not his way in that way, but maybe! Frustrated the male just ran a hand through his hair. "Screw this." Patience be damned! He wasn't about to pace this hallway another moment just because he wanted to try and be polite. Even if he was worried about her - that was besides the point. It was his room as well...and he had every right to just barge in and then...

Pause as he noticed the girl pressed firmly into the bed. Reaching out a hesitant hand it almost appeared that the hybrid was going to comfort her before he grabbed a blanket instead. "First time I've seen someone sleep in such a way." He commented loudly as if to clear the awkward air hanging about him, "Everything has been taken care of so don't worry and sleep it all off."

Placing the blanket along the floor the hybrid frowned. So much for comfortable lodging - right? Still he as he blew out the lantern and laid down on the now darkened floor, Kian sighed. "If you need me I'll be down here..." He paused again thoughtfully. What else could he say? Hell, he was just waiting for her to kick him out or even attack him since they were in such close quarters. But instead a soft comment left his lips, "Tomorrow is a new day I hear. We have a lot of Sauti to cover - this is just the beginning. Nothing happens in just one day you know...just in case you might be thinking that capramel is all you know." He forced a laugh, "While I doubt your intellect most days, I do know that you surely have something more for you out there. Just have to find it first - I'll make sure of that for you." That stated he turned away and placed his head on his arms in an attempt to get comfortable. What even possessed him to say such things? Gods helped me I'm surely possessed by something lately...

The creak of the door made Rhonann stiffen. By now, the tears had stopped, but the aches remained. And now Kian had arrived to make it worse. Great. What snarky remark or flippant comment would reach her ears now? She waited tensely.. and her tension faltered with confusion. Was.. that being snarky? Should she be insulted by that? ..She couldn't bring herself to be.

She squeezed her eyes shut, utterly torn from her various experiences with the man. Was that him making a place for himself on the floor?! He.. was willing to do that without being told? ..Good grief, she couldn't figure him out!

And then.. and then his words of comfort and encouragement. They were the last thing she had expected to hear. They pierced into her, making her press more into the pillow so that she wouldn't betray herself with crying again, hoping he couldn't hear the sharpness of her breath as she fought for control. She couldn't let Kian know such a thing... Still, despite the rush of emotions, a subtle comfort did start to settle in her mind. After a long few minutes, she turned her head to whisper; "I'll hold ya ta tha', Kian.." Wiping her eyes with her cloak, she felt herself falling into a tense but restful sleep. She would sleep in longer than usual, needing the rest after putting herself through the stresses of the day before.

When she did wake, it was because her stomach was rumbling with hunger. She pushed herself up as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes and squinted at the morning light coming in through the window. The new day was here... bringing a small smile to Rho's lips. The new day could bring anything.

If you're a mage...then can I trust you? Will you turn out to be like mother instead?

Never, Tally. I promise you...I won't turn into that ever again...

Alright, then I trust you to leave and go out on Nerio's mission for you. Be careful brother and I hope you truly can become a help to someone in need.

Ugh, Kian rubbed his temples. So much for a restful night - rather the male had been awake on and off while thinking of things. Why was he truly here? What was the plan next? Every time he felt tempted to just go out and do something the hybrid would turn over and notice the darker shadow on the bed. I won't leave her. Sighing he would just twist away again and try his hardest to sleep.

When dawn arrived the male had given up on sleep and so was already up and moving. While his companion slept rather heavily on the bed, Kian went through the tavern and town. I suppose what Rho doesn't know won't kill her. He smirked as he packaged up the rest of their travel necessities before pausing once more to gain the attention of a villager.

"Have you ever seen or heard of a girl named Rhonann? She's about this short with forehead gems and rather a brute at times...I mean is an archer. Would you know of her and any family perhaps?" He asked again - at this point he wished he had the magic to make something that could just record and replay his same question, now that would be worth something. Once more he just got a simple shake of the head, if even an answer at all, before the villager would scurry away from the hybrid.

"Alright, good talking to you." Kian rolled his eyes before glancing over at a few stray capramel, "Honestly I'll get more answers out of you guys rather than anyone walking through here." He huffed before reaching out to pat one on the head. Smiling at its happy expression the hybrid ruffled the fur one last time before turning on his heel and heading back to the tavern.

Time to see if sleeping beauty was awake yet...

Yawning, she slipped off the bed and walked over to the wash basin. She dipped her hands and patted her face with a sigh. Wait... Eyes widening, she spun around and looked at the floor. Where had that rat slunk off to?! Had it seriously happened again??

She really was going to shoot him if she saw his face again! ..But she had more important things to do than track that snake's butt. Sitting on the bed, she rifled through her pack to make sure nothing was missing. Wystia had said she could stay even if Kian left early, but but she had to cover the food. Hopefully, it wasn't too much for a few bites.

Thinking of all the food that had been spread before her last night, she groaned and dropped onto her back on the bed. What a waste.

Ever so quietly the hybrid made his way through the hallways and back to the door of their room...

"What are you hopelessly lost without me?" Quipped Kian as he opened the door and noticed the girl dropping onto the bed, "Darling I was only gone for a few heartbeats." He smirked as he dropped two bags onto the floor, "Should I be a good husband to you, Rho?" The hybrid couldn't resist teasing as he slowly approached the bed in what was a rather seductive approach - at least in his mind it would have made at least one or two ladies swoon, gods only knew what the girl actually thought he looked like. Here she was just lying down on a bed perfect for pouncing...the thought made him as he got super close and then simply just turned away.

"While you've been dreaming of capramel all morning I made us travel kits and also looked through the town. Got no results though so if you're ready to leave then so am I." He slung a bag over his shoulder, "Unless you wanted to try again which is totally your call. I can always spend the morning with Wystia while you bounce around..." He smiled teasingly almost as if imagining some rather unprofessional things - definitely not one for children - before leaning against the door frame as if to wait for a response.

Lying back with her eyes closed, Rho debated her next step. She just had to continue on with her search. Then the voice spoke up, and her eyes popped open with surprise. Her impulse to start shouting was quelled by shock. He.. hadn't just wandered off? "You'd like ta think that, whouldn't ya," she snorted, hiding relief behind the snark. Watching him approach, her eyes narrowed sharply. "Don't ferget, ye're not my husband," she warned shortly, irritated at his play and the flutter he had caused..

She sat up to look at the bags Kian had brought. Dang.. how much money did this guy have on him? "We can do a little more lookin' as we pass though, right?" Maybe something might still come to her... but she wasn't holding the hope as tightly as before. She stood and reached to elbow Kian again as she passed by him with a scolding smirk. "An' don't be a perv about other gals 'round yer wife."

"Of course I would." Kian winked teasingly, "It definitely would brighten my day after all~" His face playfully fell at her rejection and he bowed his head, "Like you would let me forget." The hybrid shrugged, "Oh well. I suppose it's not like I could be so easily tamed anyways though the thought is nice." He didn't know why he was so playful today, but perhaps it was just to shake off the sincerity he had displayed last night. Talk about over doing it! Who would have thought he could have said such mushy things? Almost enough to send a shiver down his spine...

As he sorted through the bags the hybrid nodded, "If you want. I'm just here for the ride. You tell me what you want and I'll help you to get there." He smiled before shouldering a bag, "You the wife after all." He chuckled after she elbowed him, "Though you didn't want me just a few moments ago." Kian protested lightly, "I suppose I just need more women to get my own wife's love, who would have thought it?"

Blowing a playful kiss her way, Kian twisted around her before heading out of the room. "Come on slow poke, I'll be in the next village by the time you get those short legs out of here." Laughing he disappeared around the corner and out the main doors where he waited around outside. Maybe the girl would have more luck than his endeavors from this morning - he hoped that much for her sake. Honestly, he was already plotting their next route to another town...but he wasn't about to let her down. As long as she wanted to continue checking he would follow - for a little bit at least.

Rolling her eyes, Rhonann shook out her map to give it a look again. Look around a little here still, and then they would move on. "Just a little longer then." Putting a hand over her stomach, she did a couple skips to catch up to Kian. "Hey. Any chance ya got ta save some'a that food from last night? I'll need a little somethin' ta eat before goin' back on the road." Looking at Kian, she hesitated a moment. Should she apologize for last night? ...Nah. "Ya hungry, or didya eat everythin' last night?"

Kian rose an eyebrow as he glanced down towards his companion, "You mean all that food you left me with?" The hybrid paused thoughtfully before finally adding, "I ate it all." A farce of course, but who was he to be such an easy man? She couldn't expect to get everything easily, right? No he was going to be a whole lot tougher on her. I'll make her work for everything...

Eh, who was he kidding?

Walking a few strides forward the male casually just tossed some rather fancy bread with spices and nuts decorating the top from his bag behind him towards the wind girl, "Eat light for now since we'll be doing a lot of walking. When you're done here I'll meet you towards the path heading towards the northern route." Kian commented calmly as he strode ahead with a light whistle. He would look himself here and there - hopefully Rhonann wouldn't get into too much trouble without him there to guard her. The thought brought a chuckle to his lips. Nah, if anything staying away from him probably gave her a better chance of actually getting somewhere without harm. For now he would just go and meditate -if such a thing was possible for his wandering mind- in the sunlight along the outskirts of the village.

"Wouldn'ta surprised me if ya did," she murmured with a smirk. Catching the loaf easily, she nodded with understanding. "Yup." Right away, she pulled off the heel of the bread and began munching as she looked around the inn. Some looks came from those suspicious of the girl coming in with a hybrid. Others held another look she couldn't explain. For the most part though, it was simple ignorance. No one gave any sort of indication that they knew her. She was just another gal to them. No answers would be had here.

Outside, she took a deep breath and started her walk north. She would stop regularly to see if anyone recognized her. With each shake of the head received, she reminded herself of the memory she did have. She was searching for a family. One that, at least at one time, had loved her. Finding a single 'yes' would make every 'no' worthwhile. Some folks would even tell her of a hybrid talking about a girl of her description, but that was the only recognition she got as she headed for where Kian would be waiting.

Resting against a tree, Kian watched as a few strangers came and went from the village. He had wanted to meditate, to enjoy the scenery around him but the man's mind kept wandering to the question of - would any of them know something about the Sautian girl? For a few moments he managed to shut out the thoughts while concentrating on reaching out with his magic into the area around him. The wind was more chilled here than in Jauhar, far more closer to the wind he had known in Zena while the earth was firmer, yet more susceptible to life than other areas. And then came the first pair of foot steps...sighing, Kian glanced up as another pair walked past.

I should just ignore them...there's no need...

"Do you know about a girl named Rhonann?" The words slipped out of his mouth before he even realized it. Once again it was a no, but a few travelers later the male was finding himself in a different type of conversation. "A festival?" He tilted his head with a faint grin, "You think such a place...would be a good idea?"

"They come from all over Sauti at times and it's a good place for merchants - we travel the best you know."

"True, true." Kian smirked, "Thanks I'll keep it in mind."

Waving them along he went back to his perch and it was there that he waited...and waited. Was she okay? Had she decided to leave him for once rather than letting him disappear on her? Shaking his head at such thoughts Kian stopped himself from going off into the village. When he finally was about to crack the male was relieved -not that he would admit to such things mind you- to see the familiar face coming his way. "Took you long enough." He called out with a wave as he approached Rhonann, "Find out anything?"
PostPosted: Wed Sep 07, 2016 8:30 pm

A small glare was aimed at Kian, dismissing him with a wave of her hand. "If I'da found somethin', I'da told ya," Rho scoffed with irritation. Yanking out her little map, she scrutinized it for a moment. Head north, or continue east...? After a moment, her hands clenched and she peeked over at Kian with frustrated appreciation. "Did find a few people who said a hybrid guy witha dumb face was askin' 'bout someone lookin' like me. ...Thanks."

Now that she had that awkward moment out of the way-!

"I'm thinkin' we should keep goin' east from here, n' follow the border-ish. Lotsa more formal settlements that direction." Slowly, she glanced over at Kian. She was in charge here... but a second opinion might be okay. "Sound good?"

"Well okay then." Kian raised his hands defensively, "Just askin' sheesh." His smirk faded as she called him out for his actions with a light thanks, "I would beg to differ about the 'dumb face' though maybe it was someone else." Obviously not - the hybrid just brushed away some stray strands of hair before continuing, "Anyways it's what anyone would expect to happen considering I'm here to help you...nothing special to just ask some people about a crazy Sautian like you."

"Suuuure." Kian pursed his lips thoughtfully before snapping his fingers as a realization came to him, "Though I think I know a good shortcut to the next village." Of course that short cut would take them straight away towards a festival rather than a typical village - but hey, what good was a journey without some surprises? It would be nice to relax and take a break...his gaze slipped over towards her despite himself. She had a rough time last night and the male didn't want her to linger so much on things. If they had a little fun here and there it wouldn't hurt at all, right?

"It'll be a bit of a walk so I hope you're prepared." Kian pulled his bags back up on his shoulders - now if only he still had the luxuries of a caravan, that would be nice. Still, what was the point in a journey if he sped through it when he could spend the time tormenting -err, enjoying the company of Rhonann? Now that sounded far more amusing, "Come on feather." He clicked his tongue at her as if she were some familiar, "If you get tired just let me know and I can always carry you a bit."

Winking playfully the hybrid stretched out his legs and began to stride across the beaten path away from the village. A smile was on his lips as he began to whistle a faint melody that swirled in the air around them and once more they were off. Who knew what the road ahead held for them next? (If of course they didn't kill each other first...)
