"I will come back later to get whatever it is that you need. We can stay here when there is a threat to your life, Miss Fallon." He said, shifting his body into a stance that his Aunt Vae had taught him. He really didn't want to get in a fight with the one before him since the foreigner seemed to have a real sword. The metal blade would trump his wooden sword after a few swings but if it meant keeping Fallon safe then what were a few wounds?

Turning to look over at Fallon he shook his head, "The outsiders can't be trusted. They are either those that have invaded Yael or they are the ones that sent the invaders here to us. They aren't our friends, they are dangerous! We have to get back. Either grab your basket quickly or we will have to leave it behind." He felt bad thinking that they might have to leave the basket and everything in it but the priestess in training was far more important then any kelp would ever be.

Taking a step forward he pointed his weapon at the man before him, "Stay where you! I don't want to fight with you but I will!"

When Jolanta took the step forward to issue his warning Fallon turned and ran for her basket. There was no way she was going to argue with her escort now. Not when things were a little too dangerous for her liking. In one swipe she grabbed the arched handle of her basket and made for the path they had come from before. The young priestess in training paused long enough to look at Jol and call for him. "Come on!"

She stood and waited for him even managing to worry so much that she had her free hand tangle in her hair. Fallon knew the way back but she wasn't going to leave him behind.

Jolanta held his sword in place, not showing what he was feeling inside. Instead he knew that he had to stand fast for Fallon. If the Oban decided to attack then it would be up to him to fend the man off, to keep the priestess in training safe. She was the one that mattered the most after all. It was only the fact that she moved to do as he requested, fetching her basket before gong for the path, that he started to move, backing slowly toward her. It was only after he reached the path that he turned away from the strangely colored mainlander.

Reaching out Jolanta caught hold of her hand in his saying, "I do apologize." With that he started to rush toward the village, as fast as Fallon was able to keep up with. He didn't want the stranger getting close but at the same time he didn't want Fallon to trip. If the stranger pursued he'd stop, allowing Fallon to run for safety, but here was to hoping it didn't come to that.

When her hand was absconded she blinked and gave Jolanta a confused look only to be pulled into running. Since Fallon had only grabbed her basket and not her shoes it was rough on her feet to run. Fearing that they were being chased she looked behind her as they kept running only to see that the Oban had run to the end of the path but stopped. Apparently he didn't want to go inside their jungle. Which was good for them.

She was just turning to look forward when her foot caught a rock and sent her to the ground. Her hand came out of Jol's and she hugged her basket so that when she landed it was on her shoulder and the contents they had collected at the beach were safe.

Jolanta turned to look back as Fallon did, half expecting that the Oban was following after them with his weapon drawn. Much to his relief the man had stopped at the end of the path, not wanting to follow them into the jungles of Yael. Here was hoping that the man didn't gather his courage and decide to give chase because he didn't think he was ready to take on a real warrior. That the man was too afraid to follow though was a huge relief, they might even make it back to Pajore in one piece! A thought that was instantly ended as Fallon went down again, this time having tripped over something instead of being pushed by the wave.

"Ah! Miss Fallon!" He cried, his eyes going wide with shock. Oh no... was his old curse resurfacing? Was it starting to infect those around him instead of just coming after him?! He wasn't sure but instantly he knew that when he had a free moment he needed to go back to the Sanctum. He needed them to give him a fresh blessing to stave off his curse so that it wouldn't infect anyone else. With that though in mind he was quick to put his sword away, kneeling down by Fallon, looking her over, "Are you alright? Tell me where it hurts!"

Well that hadn't been planned. By now it was likely that Jol would think she was clumsy or something. She'd gotten snagged by a thorn bush, knocked over by a wave, and now she'd fallen down. About the same time that her companion seemed to want to know if she was injured she sat up and eyed her basket. Fallon hurt everywhere, not that she was going to say that. When she was sure that the things they had gathered were alright she did a self check to ensure she wasn't too badly hurt.

That was when she felt the warm trickle of blood on her leg. Not wanting to worry Jolanta, or have him go about lifting her dress to find out where the blood was coming from, she shifted and pulled her legs and feet farther under the cover of the long skirt. "Just a few bruises I think. I'll be fine." She smiled up at him, though there were pain filled tears in her eyes. Moving her leg had hurt. She just prayed her dress didn't have a rip in the same area as the blood. Or that it was now stained red. Dirt she didn't mind. Surely there would be no reason to worry Jol about dirt.

Jolanta gave her a long look, then a once over, before he finally nodded, "I see..." He didn't quite buy it. Bruises weren't enough to cause someone to look as though they were going to cry he thought to himself. Giving a little shake of his head he move to kneel in front of the girl that was sitting there before him, taking his sword off of his back before he said, "Here, climb up onto my back. It was my fault that you fell and I will make sure to get you back so that the others can look you over and make sure that you're alright." Between all the things that had happened it really made him feel awful.

"I'm very sorry, Miss Fallon. I will redouble my training so that I can do better at protecting you." It was obvious that he'd failed her this time around and he needed to make sure that he was able to better serve her next time no matter how much training that took him.

She stared at him when he knelt and told her to climb on. While the idea was appealing she knew that if she did then the blood would stain her dress and likely his skin. So Fallon shook her head and smiled again. "No, it's alright really." Gripping her basket tightly to give her an outlet to her pain she slowly got to her feet. Of course she didn't realize that her dress did have a rip and some red staining already so by standing she'd given herself away.

"You did fine Jola. I'm not used to running bare foot is all." Fallon waved it off then made a motion for him to get up so they could be on their way.

"Miss Fallon... I really think that you should..." He trailed off as she got up to her feet and for a moment all he could see was blood. It was something that had his mind spinning for a moment before he was on knees again, instantly digging through the pack he was carrying, digging for the various medical supplies he'd brought along along with one of the water skins of pure water. He motioned to her and said, "Here, sit down, show me where you're hurt so that I can patch you up!"

She was bleeding... the priestess in training was bleeding! He'd completely failed at the task of protecting her, hadn't he? He was supposed to keep her from being hurt not drag her to her doom! He was a complete failure as a guardian for the Sanctum, wasn't he?! This meant that he was going to have to start his training anew! He had surely done everything wrong if he were to fail this terribly...

"I will clean your wounds, wrap them up, and get you to a healer! Don't worry Miss Fallon it's going to me alright."

With a very confused look she watched him go through his pack before she looked down at her dress. When she saw it she winced. "Dafiel take me." Fallon sighed.

Stepping away from Jolanta she shook her head at him. "It's just a scratch. I will clean it up once we make it back to the sanctum." She hoped he would be alright with that. The fact that he seemed to be upset by it made her feel bad. Fallon took another step away from him that was really more of a limp and motioned for him to follow. "I will walk back without you, Jola." That was the only way she could think of that would make him ignore the blood he'd seen.

Jolanta looked quite worried from where he kneeling before he looked at the things that he was holding in his hands before he was scraping to his feet. Stuffing the supplies into his bag he followed along after her, hurrying to return his sword to its place on his back, "I am well versed in first aid, Miss Fallon. I might not have any access to magical powers but I can help you with your wounds if you decide that you need it." He couldn't very well force her to let him help but he wanted her to know that his offer stood.

Hurrying to follow after her, "I'm coming! Please, don't go without me. We don't know if he's still out there after all." He didn't want her to leave his sight, not until she was safely delivered back to the Sanctum. After that he'd return to the beach to find everything that she still needed... along with the shoes that she was forced to leave behind.

Sighing softly he said, "Once we return please make me a list of the things we weren't able to gather and I will return for them... and your shoes."

His declaration that he knew how to tend to her wounds had her looking at him. "I know, Jola, but this isn't your fault." Fallon shook her head and took another limping step. She would need to find a way to convince the Sanctum that Jolanta was not to blame for her injury. The thought of falling again once they made it there came to mind. Of course that would require her to be far enough away from her escort in order to do so. It would also hurt worse to land on the bruises she already had.

Then an idea came to mind! "Oh! I know." Finding a log to sit down on, or drop onto really, she reached into the basket and pulled out a nice solid piece of kelp. Then she paused. Fallon lifted her eyes to meet his and moved her other hand in a circle motion. "Turn around." Her modesty was preventing her from allowing him to patch her up and it was also in the way of her patching herself up. When she was in the water it was different. Jol couldn't really see her legs. Now, he could. And of course her cheeks brightened with embarrassment.

Giving a little shake of his head he said, "I fear that maybe the curse that I had as a youngling has returned and is attempting to spread to those around me. I will need to speak with those at the Sanctum to see if they are able to help me to put it back in check. I really do apologize, Miss Fallon, I thought that the first blessing had gotten it in control as I've had no problems for a while." What if it was just laying in wait? Blasted curse... sending up a prayer to Lurin and Dafiel that he was able to get to the Priests and Priestesses in time to get his curse back into control.

"Huh? You know...?" He watched her as she sat down on a nearby log and he moved to follow along after her, blinking as she told him to turn around, "Turn around?" He turned to look in the other direction, as though expecting to see something... then back again. He looked a touch confused before it clicked that she just wanted him to turn around so that he wouldn't see her as she worked on her legs... Ah! Whirling around Jolanta crossed his arms over his chest, "Tell me when you're done then, Miss Fallon." He said, the tips of his ears coloring a little bit.

A curse? So he thought this was his fault because of a curse he had when he was younger? Well that was interesting. Though Fallon was sure it was just how her day was meant to go.

Once Jolanta was turned around she waited a moment then pulled her dress up to see just how bad her wound was. Color drained from her face when she saw it. Well it was certainly no simple scrape. It looked as though when she landed she managed to fall onto the jagged edge of a rock because it cut deeper than she had thought. Fallon poked at it and hissed when it caused her pain. There was likely bits of rock and dirt in there still. Quickly she put her dress back down and simply sat there, not sure what to do now.

After a few minutes she cleared her throat at Jol. "Uhm.. Jola.." Since she was usually very well spoken it should had tipped him off that she used 'uhm' and paused. "It might need to be looked at..."

Jolanta stood in place, shifting from foot to foot, waiting for any word from the priestess in training that she was ready to get going. Instead she was suddenly speaking up and saying that her wound might need to be looked at. It was something that had him whirling around to face her, "It's that bad?" He asked, stepping forward, "Alright, you have to let me see it, Miss Fallon. I promise as a paladin in training that I won't do anything untoward! I am here to serve you." He was there for her, not himself, and he wanted to make sure that she was alright.

Stepping forward he knelt down in front of the priestess in training, setting his pack at his side, and set to digging through it, "I will do all I can to help out and then I will give you a ride back on my back. No arguements, we don't want you to strain your leg anymore then it's already been strained." He told her as he waited for her to show him the wound that she'd gotten in the fall. It was his fault so it was up to him to make it better.
