Shun ignored the offered snacks. He wasn't really interested in them right now, and just kept to his tea for the time being.

"I doubt it. The judge panel is questionable anyway," he grunted.

More for her. Although she wasn't really shoveling them. Maybe if Chris was here she would have been, but for now they were a casual snack.

"What you mean? They cheatin' or somethin'?" She looked back, not really able to decipher it.

"Not necessarily. When you have humans judging, you cannot be completely unbiased. It is not like some of the other sports where there is a definite quantifiable outcome. First person to cross a finish line. Someone who lifts more, throws further. And so on. There is always something a little subjective when it comes to a judges panel."

"Yeah, but that's what yellin' at the ref's for." She snorted. "My dad always called 'em on their bullshit."

She shrugged. "Anyways, who else would judge it, y'know?"

"Yelling at a TV screen gets you nowhere," he grunted before letting out a sigh,"but there is not really a better way to go about it. Not yet anyway. That does not mean I cannot find it to be inefficient. "

Chel thought yelling at the TV was the larger part of the fun. Getting drunk and yelling was an honored past time.

"Does make it stupid to complain about though," she said, giving him a sideye with a grin.

The TV slowly faded away from gymnastics, promising to return to them later in lieu of men's fencing. "Hey s'you," she said, gesturing to the screen.

"Yelling at a TV screen is more stupid," he muttered. After drinking some more tea, he just raised his brow at her.

"What?"

"You know. Swordsmanship and honor and chivalry an' all that. They always look grumpy as ******** too."

A fencer from the Mexican team came on screen and she snorted because he was making the same expression Shun always seemed to wear. "See?"

Shun didn't seem very amused with Chel's comparison. He just huffed out, "If you think I am chivalrous, you have a very skewed perception of it."

He felt like he was quite the opposite in that regard, really.

"What makes you think I am a swordsman, anyway?"

"Isn't chivalry just bein' nice t'ladies an' savin' people an' s**t?" Before her could retort she added, "I don't count- I ain't no lady."

She looked at him somewhat skeptically for the second question and then pointed to the daggers in the room. "Daggers, swords, same diff."

"There is more to it than that, but either way, I am not chivalrous. Whether or not you count as a lady," he stated with a grunt. Shun was just about to place his cup back onto the table, when Chel decided to open her mouth once more. He paused in his motions, then slowly turned to stare at her.

"Swords can be great and beautiful and all, and both are sharp bladed weapons, but they are not the same. At all."

"What's the difference?" Chel said with an almost offensive slouch into the couch.

Shun drew in a deep breath, followed by a somewhat exasperated sigh.

"The fastest answer is that a dagger is a shorter blade. Apart from that, they are typically meant for faster, though somewhat less effective strikes in comparison to a sword. Generally speaking, swords are meant as primary weapons, whereas a dagger is more of a secondary. Sword blades tend to vary between being meant to slash or stab, while daggers are almost always for stabbing."

It turned out, Shun was an enormous ******** nerd.

"All that sounds like is that they're both meant fer the same thing you just swing 'em a little weirder." She thought for a moment. "That, an' really ain't all of 'em swords to a midget?"

Then she started laughing at the imagery.

The detective twitched slightly at that.

"That is like saying a tablet is the same as a smartphone or laptop. They are similar, but they are not the same. "
