Was he still here? She wouldn't blame him if he just left...Arima sighed before the sound of Saraf's voice brought a little squeak from her. Oh! So he was here, "I'm fine...I just..." What? What was there to ask him? Honestly she was just procrastinating leaving since she was still embarrassed over her earlier mishaps. "I'm almost ready." Flushing the girl disappeared behind the screens again before taking a deep breath. She was ready and had her new attire - but where the previous outfit was a bit more modest and light this one was different with its hues of blues and gold.
Since her hair was a mess they had also attacked it by twisting the long strands up into a braided ponytail. Shaking her head at her own shyness the girl flushed again as some beads chimed. She had asked for something simple, but the ladies had taken their own creative twist before finally also giving her the veil she had requested. Making certain it was in place Arima took a hesitant step away from the curtain so that she could approach Saraf, "I'm ready. Thank you for taking me here." She managed thankful of the veil that hid her flush.
"I suppose we....should get back now." Her gaze lowered towards the ground in an attempt to hide her own sadness. She had wasted another chance out....well, no! Arima's gaze narrowed as she fought to shove away the sorrow. It wasn't like a complete waste! She had gotten to see the inside of a tavern - even if it was a bit more dangerous than she was anticipating and then she had even witnessed Saraf fighting to help her. Not that she would ever want him to get hurt, but the fact that someone came after her and risked himself -soldier or not- it was rather touching. The thought brought a small smile to her lips, "Actually...." Her voice was soft as she twisted her hands together shyly once more, "I need to thank you for helping me today even though it was my fault you still came to help. I truly appreciate it." She just wished there was a way she could show him her appreciation before going home....Arima bit the inside of her cheek thoughtfully before daring to peek back up at Saraf through the veil.

Saraf jerked so that he was standing up straight as Arima reappeared, wearing something vastly differently then what she'd been wearing initially. Was this because the woman that ran this place though that Arima was his mistress as well? Maybe this was the only thing that they had on hand that would fit her? He really had no idea what he should think or say when it came to... all of this. He gave a little shake of his head before he said, "Good, good... I'm glad that they could help you find something..." Not what he was expecting at all, but it worked. "Huh? Oh, yeah... come on then. We should see about getting you home." He wasn't sure if this outfit was one that a Lady of Oba wanted to wear around for too long, not when all sorts of people could see her in it. It might be embarrassing for Arima but at least she had a veil to help cover her face... not that it would help given her very strange, very unique coloring. That wasn't exactly something that someone could just cover up so easily. Starting forward with the young woman at his side he said, "I'm sorry that it wasn't the best time out given everything that happened." It was a strange day for sure... and possibly one that she might see as being at least memorable? She was thanking him for today and he felt that it was exceedingly nice of her to do given that the day hadn't gone swimmingly. If nothing else at least he had been able to get her out of the tavern before anything untoward happened, right? That was one upside at least. He was actually glad that he'd been without his sword after everything that had gone down or else it would have become more complicated. A fist fight was bad enough, but a sword fight would have been a pain to explain to his superiors. He was glad that hadn't come to pass.

"Ah....yes." Arima felt her cheeks flush a bit more as she added quietly under her breath, "I suppose it looks weird." Shaking her head she offered a small smile before his next comment made it falter once more, "Ah....yes." She repeated lightly while holding back a sigh. It was probably for the best considering how well the day had gone for them. Her mother would be full of questions as well once they came back and Saraf left. Arima could already count on that - especially considering her change of clothing.
His apology nearly caused Arima to stumble, "Ah, no!" She protested quietly with a shake of her head, "You...were not to blame so there's no need for you to apologize." She bit her bottom lip sheepishly, "I just hope it wasn't completely miserable for you."
As they walked she grew even quieter. One, two, three... All of her steps were getting her closer to home, but was that really the ending she wanted? With just the two of them apologizing for how strange the day had been? Taking a deep breath at the thought the girl finally planted her feet down before reaching out to gently touch Saraf's arm, "Saraf. May I ask for one last chance?" She began quietly, "Not for our mothers' interests, but just for us to have a decent ending to the day." Arima paused as her heart danced in her chest at the sudden bold approach, "It's nothing big...but if you don't wish to be seen with me much longer then I understand. It's just there's a place I've always wanted to revisit...if you don't mind." She paused before giving a light laugh, "And it's not a tavern, I promise."

Saraf found himself shaking his head, "Not... weird, just different from what you wore before is all." He didn't think it was weird, didn't think that it was bad, it was just very different was all. Not that he knew what her normal wardrobe looked like. She could very well things like this all the time... he'd only spent time with her twice after all. It was different for him he supposed was a better way to put it? "Hm?" t seemed as though she wasn't took upset with the way that things had gone, huh? That was good at least. He didn't want her to think that the day was a total wash as he knew he wasn't exactly the best company that one could get. He knew that there were better, more sociable people out there, whereas Saraf was... Saraf. He was a soldier, one that was better at fighting then chatting, that didn't really tend to spend a lot of time doing this sort of thing. It was a strange day for him completely with only the fist fight being something he was used to since it was a form of fighting. He gave a humming sound and said after a moment, "No, not miserable. Different then what I am used to but not bad." There was a silence between them as they walked, with the two of them falling quiet, the only sound that of their footsteps for a while. It was Arima that spoke up, suddenly putting a hand on his arm while asking for a 'last chance' which had him turning to look at her quizzically. She wanted a 'decent ending to the day' which had his mind racing between various provocative scenarios. No, no... this was a girl that hadn't ever even been to a tavern. Surely she wouldn't be asking for that sort of thing? No, it seemed it was more that she wanted to visit one other place, one that wasn't a tavern at least. After a long, silent moment of contemplation he dared to ask, "Where is it you wish to go?"

Arima let out a sigh of relief, "Really? Then I'm glad to hear that." Beneath the veil her gaze was shining. So perhaps then she could leave an alright memory with him rather than something that made him cringe every time she was mentioned. The thought brought a small laugh to her lips before she turned away once more, "I suppose then we both are in agreement that it's just been a...different sort of day." And wasn't that better than a normal day? Arima wanted to laugh - I suppose it just depends on perspective.
Her heart racing, Arima stared towards the ground while counting the moments of silence which passed between them. Would he reply? Was he trying to figure out the polite way to decline her request? Yet, the next moment when she was almost ready to give up the girl blinked with surprise. He wanted to know where? "It's a bit silly..." She began with a light flush to her cheeks as she glanced back towards him, "But I've always imagined how the city looks from a high vantage...back home all I see are the desert sands and the gardens my mother owns. There's a place I remember vaguely from going out to tea with mother that overlooked the whole city." She tucked a stray strand of hair behind her finned ear, "I....thought it might be a nice place to visit before we return."

Saraf nodded his head feeling that calling today a 'different sort of day' was the best way to describe it all. He wasn't sure what was going to come of all of it but at least the day hadn't ended on a sour note? There was a worried voice in the back of his head that said the day wasn't over but he refused to think about that and instead decided that he would just see how things went. The worst that could happen would be him needing to punch someone else in defense of the naive girl's modesty he supposed. "Hm?" Where she wanted to go was 'a bit silly' which instantly had him worried. Where did she want to go? Surely no where worse then a tavern full of drunks, right? As she described what she wanted to see, a high vantage point that would allow them to look over the city, he gave a sigh of relief. Good, good... it could have been far worse he thought to himself before he looked around the area. It seemed that she recalled a place where one could see the whole city, some place she'd gone for tea, and as such he guessed that meant she could lead the way? He gave a thoughtful sound, checked the sky to gauge the time of day, then nodded, "Alright, we can check that place out, then we will return you to your mother. Lead the way?"

"So I suppose it's time to go...." Wait, he was okay with going to the vantage point? Immediately the girl's face lit up as she happily glanced towards Saraf with a laugh, "Really?" She reached out and grabbed his hands in her glee, "Okay, then!" At the realization she had touched him Arima quickly let go so that she could view their surroundings. Whoops~ Twisting on her heels to hide her embarrassment the Matori raised a hand so that she could point a finger between some streets. There had been a cluster of decorative trees and the market to the side....what else could she remember about getting there that day?
"I think we can cut through the market and then go from there." She bit her lip thoughtfully before nodding her head in assurance, "I can make a stop there so that we can take care of something really quickly. I have a plan to help ease our situation for when we return...so bear with me. It should work out fine." She smiled towards Saraf before realizing exactly how happy and loud she had been - a rare sight for the usually shy and well-mannered girl, "I uh...mean if you would accompany me, sir, I would truly appreciate it."
Her cheeks smoldering on her face the girl turned away again and slowly started to walk. Now to just head this way...

Saraf glanced down at her as she caught hold of his hands, finding that a part of him wanted to jerk his hands away from her... but he instead took in a deep breath, holding it, before letting it out slowly. It was fine, not as though she was starting something with him or trying to attack him. There was no reason to jerk his hands away and as he thought this she was already releasing him, turning away so that she could seek out the path that would lead to the vantage point that she was seeking out. It seemed to take her a moment to laid out the path they were going to take but he nodded when she pointed, "Alright then." It seemed that they were cutting through the marketplace, which meant dealing with a lot of people, so he'd have to keep a very close eye on Arima. He didn't want her wandering off and getting into more trouble after all. Tilting his head to one side he asked, "What sort of stop?" While he felt that if it was a quick stop that they would be alright he couldn't help but to wonder what the girl might be up to. Giving a slow nod he said, "Well, not as though I would just leave you behind now." If he was going to give up at any point it would have been after the tavern, not now. He could think of no real reason to wander off at presently since she wasn't really being a hassle or a bother. As Arima started to walk he did the same, falling into step alongside of her, glancing from side to side as they went. He'd keep an eye on things and make sure everything was on the up and up as they moved toward their destination.

Orpheus Solon Sorry, I've been really sick so this may not be the best tag. :< "A stop to help us out a bit." Replied Arima mysteriously before she continued on. She had rolled around a few ideas in her mind while they were walking and by the time they passed through the market the girl turned to stop at a silk stand, "May I have a few bolts of these please?" She asked quietly to the merchant before turning to glance over towards her companion.
"If you see something for your mother feel free to pick out a bolt." The Matori flushed lightly, "I thought about it and perhaps if we say I wanted to go browse the market while finding some silks for our mothers it would explain our long disappearance." She smiled, "And a cup of spilled tea can always explain my change of clothing. Do you think that will be acceptable?"

Saraf followed along after Arima, curious as to what the woman was up to. It soon became clear-ish, that she wanted to get some bolts of silk cloth... though why he wasn't sure until she explained to him her plan in detail. It was one that might work he found himself thinking before he looked the silk over. Something to distract his mother, huh? An excuse as to why they had taken so long... better buying silk and spilled tea then explaining what really happened that was for sure. After picking out a nice, deep gold colored fabric that his mother was sure to like, paying for it out of his pocket before looking to Arima and said, "There is to hoping the plan works out. It sounds like a good one to me but you never know sometimes." He was sure the worst that would happen was his mother scolding him if she found out... but here was to hoping that never happened. Or if it did that he was long gone, back to patrolling the desert with his unit when it did come to pass. "Alright, do you want to continue in our search for the vantage point you spoke of or is that an adventure you want to hold off on as it's getting late?" He'd leave it up to her but since she was buying them time through the means of trickery he wondered if they should cut their loses and head back now? He'd see what Arima had to say.

Arima smiled faintly, "That is true - a mother's intuition is really a scary thing." She teased lightly before tucking away her own crimson bolt of cloth. Truly though she wished that the plan would work just because she wanted to save Saraf anymore trouble. Her hands lingered over some decorative pins before she added them to her purchase as well. It would be the first time that she would do such a thing, but the girl did wish to do something nice. And while the thought of purchasing a pin to place in Saraf's hair did amuse her in secret the delicate sun that the girl held out to Saraf was more of a gift for a woman, "Consider it a uh...second distraction then? I've never met her, but considering how you mention your mother so fondly I would love to give her a gift."
Though her gaze did fall at the mention of the time, "You are right." She commented as she glanced about. Even the market seemed to be getting ready for the nightfall. While it was nice of Saraf to give her the option the girl had to accept her loss - but at the same time was it really? "Do you promise?" She mused quietly after biting on her bottom lip sheepishly, "I mean...do you think we can come out another day to look over the city? If not I understand, but if so...I would really like that."

Saraf glanced at the item that she was holding out to him, for a moment worried that she wanted him to wear the thing. Much to his relief though she said something about how it was a gift for his mother. He gave a nod of his head as he took it from her, "I will pass it along to her for you." Saraf was protective of his mother, having warded off various things he saw as a threat to her... but this girl didn't seem threatening in the least bit. As such he didn't mind handing off a gift to his mother from Arima... so long as his mother didn't get the wrong idea about it. "Huh?" Did he promise? Oh... he gave a humming sound then said, "I don't know... maybe? My time off depends on a lot of factors." His unit was one that travel out into the desert to take care of various outside threats after all. He rarely know when he was going to be home so it might make things difficult. He glanced at her and said, "It's... possible." Motioning to her with his hand she said, "Come on, let's head back."

"Thank you." Arima beamed happily. At least that had went well - though the whole reasoning was to cover up for their past near disaster. The thought was enough to bring a small laugh from her lips before she turned hastily away with a light flush, "Umm...I suppose we'll just leave now then since it is late."
At the humming noise, Arima raised an eyebrow. "Ah, I see." She replied quietly before forcing a smile, "That's fine." She would take a 'possible' over a no any day as it was something. Even if not...the memory of the punches Saraf had taken for her today would be a nice memory - not that he had gotten hurt, but that he had come to her rescue. It was a first after all for the girl to actually have someone step in for her. When she got home she could always make an ointment for helping to heal bruises and broken skin...that much wouldn't be too much would it? I suppose a care package isn't anything bad. She owed it to him after all. The thought brought a small smile to her lips as she nodded, "Alright, let's head back then."
That decided she started walking slowly alongside Saraf until she could arrive safely home...
