Both Gael and Zeki looked over to the pale lion that joined them. Zeki rolled his eyes just a bit and turned away, not wanting to be part of the party. Yes, it had been a good fight and yes, he didn't doubt he'd made a good impression, but he still didn't like that he had lost. He hopped off the rock he was on and walked away to blend into the crowd to watch more fights. Gael, however, smirked a bit and held his head a bit higher. "Very good. We've been traveling for so long it's nice to let some pent up energy out." Not that anyone really had any physical energy after this trek, it was more the mental break from doing nothing but walking that was the relief. "I've not seen your face before," he added, tilting his head just a bit as some blood trickled down his cheek from a cut. "Are you rogue?"

All the hyenas around her were called "Nohoi" so it was an easy mistake to make to think the word simply meant "hyena". She didn't pick up on Raubtiers subtle correction and would probably make the same mistake again... Eerin liked what she saw during the fight and when the hyena moved away from his beaten opponent she entered the fighting ground. "Guud kesrs, aeui kesrs ka muv!" Even if the outsider hyena didn't understand what she was saying he should be able to take a hint. She stared at him, baring her teeth in a wordless challenge. --- Raubtier was genuinely surprised that the hyena got the upper paw in the fight. He wouldn't in a million years had guessed that the fight would end with the hyena's teeth around the lioness's neck. The other way around maybe...
And it looked as if he wouldn't get to rest before the next fight...

If there were any rules when it came to this particular pastime of the Nergui, they had been quickly disregarded. Hyenas challenging lions, rogues getting involved, chaos abound. Zizima rolled his eyes and shook his head. The only good thing that was coming of all this was the opportunity to rest, for those who may need it. His mate's daughter was no doubt grateful for the chance to look after her cubs properly without having to move them constantly.
When Zizima turned his attention back to Gael, he had taken a step back, choosing to converse with the rogue he had not long beaten. Whilst the rest were distracted by the constant fighting and challenges, perhaps now would be a good time to confront him regarding Nokhoi. He didn't get much chance to consider this, as someone else caught his eye.Ovu sneered as he continued to herd Kefir backwards, until they were through the crowds, their backs all turned to him and his frightened 'friend'. "Yes, congratulate." He grinned. "I didn't think you had it in you to drag yourself up from the pathetic existence you had found yourself in, yet here you are."
He laughed loudly at Kefir's statement that the Horde was 'good' now, purposely baring his teeth as he did so. "Good you say? Well I think I missed the message on that one. Are you quite sure of that?"
Ovu knew that there was no honour to be earned by beating a lion who had already lost, but he didn't care. The twisted lion hadn't had any 'fun' in ages. "I wonder...if I cut you open and allowed you to bleed out, do you think anyone would care?"

Quote: Additional Prize Added! The third-born in a litter of five, this boy was born to a loving couple within the Nergui. The mother is a gruff but kindly orc-inspired lioness and the father is gaining renown within the horde. They will be raised with more kindness and care than many cubs. Colourist: Seaki Other prizes will be unlocked if the RP hits 4+ pages. "You win," Mawasii gasped, her body tense at the closeness of his teeth against her neck. It had been an eye-opener, fighting with one of a different species and there had been many lessons learnt. "Maybe if you stick around, we can fight again," she replied to his advice, pulling herself to her paws and padding back out of the arena.
She'd pick herself back up and do better next time. She was fighting for her honour and that of all females within the Nergui, after all.
It seemed, however, like that initial fight had gotten the blood of the hyenas up. Another was uttering a challenge even before she had fully merged back into the audience to lick at her wounds.
---
Kefir was almost beside himself in terror now and the worst part of it was that there really was no one he could count on to help him. Ovu's words - though terrible - spoke truths. No one in the horde would care and nor would they try to stop him.
And, even in terrible odds, he realised if he didn't stand up for himself, no one else would.
"I-I would care," he replied, desperately trying to appear braver than he was and utterly failing. The horde was anything but good and he had chosen his words poorly. Under the circumstances, however, there was no one who could blame him. It was difficult stringing sentences when everything in your being was telling you that you were going to die. "You should f-find someone else to pick on."
[OOC: I'm looking to get this RP wrapped up by next week! After that there'll be another RL month in rogue lands before the Nergui arrive at their new home]

Gizem trotted along with the rest of the lions. Her time with the Nergui so far had been spent in the one place, so she was excited that they were moving, seeing something new, and doing something a bit more adventurous than sitting in the one spot. The brown lioness was still adjusting to her life with the somewhat loud and, to the untrained eye, unruly hoarde but she was content, having no memory of anything prior to her encounter with the one that brought her into this fold of lion and hyena. She watched with green eyes as others around her nipped and sparred as the went. She was curious as to what was occurring, but was not going to put her paw forward to enter any such tumble. Did she even know what to do in a fight? Probably not, she mused, still, that didn't stop her from watching the others jostle as they marched.

The paler lion nodded his head at the other. "Yes I am a rogue." Said Ochieng. "The sounds had made me want to come check out what was going on. You are a great fighter. I might want to learn a bit from you. I have a cub who might need some more tutelage from me if his mother allows it." His son he did not know what his son, was learning all sorts of things and becoming a better fighter would be another good thing for him to learn. "I mean if you'd want, maybe we could be the next challengers. If you are up for another fight." Though part of him wondered if he should fight that hyena who had just won against the lioness. It soured him only a little that the dark laughing beast had bested a lioness. The dark laughing beast looked at the hyena who had yelled out to him in a language that he could understand but he seemed to think it was a cheer, but he bared his fangs back at her for a moment. He was proud to show that he could defeat a lion, even it was female. Then he turned back to the female he had bested. "I would like that." He had nothing better to do anyway. Annchen I'll wait for your roll and then roll mine?

Eerin waited impatiently for Mawasii to leave, but as soon as the lioness had returned to the sidelines she pounced, aiming to knock him off his feet. It was impressive to see him take on a lioness, but could he defeat her? If he could do that while still sweaty from his last fight, well in that case he might be worth keeping around. The female hyena didn't really consider the male's thoughts of the subject. She was raised with females in charge, and males just following their lead. Why would this be any different? --- Raubtier watched, head slightly tilted. Did that rogue hyena even realize he had been challenged? Well, he'd know soon enough since the gray female wasted no time once the battleground was clear. He kept an eye on the fight as he scanned the crowd. Who could he challenge? It would be good to gain some reputation, other than being one of Furchtlos many children. His dad might be in good standing, but Raubtier's biggest achievement so far was nearly getting killed by a Kulukadok while his sister got the honor in helping to kill it. Yeah, a fight would be nice, and hopefully one he could win. Challenging a lion was out of the question...

Vsevelod snarled as his legs were kicked out from under him. He didn't let that get him down for long as he rolled, a funny sight for a hyena, away from his opposer and leaped up to his paws. He surprised himself that he was still so spry even after that last battle and clawed at the other before using his teeth on her. At the last moment he grabbed onto the back of her neck and dragged her down. Holding her until she'd stop squirming. Once she did that he'd let her go. Annchen Of course now both my rolls were fantastic but when I need them to be to kill a dragon, nope. The scuffle made him look back. Seemed the hyena winner won yet again. He sure was making a name for himself. He had to go next. Show this hyena just how a lion really fought. Not that any of these lions couldn't, but let them be shown up by a rogue.

Eerin grinned when she managed to down the male so easily, and made a pleased little sound when he rolled away from her snapping jaws. Not too easy, good! They clashed together, clawing and biting. When he got a hold of her scruff and managed to drag her down she knew it would be hard for her to make a comeback. She snarled and thrashed, but the male had a good grip and seemed very determined. When she'd made sure she couldn't get out of his hold with less than a piece of her hide ripped off she finally stopped struggling. "Yield," she said in the common tongue, and got to her feet when he released her. As much as she hated resorting to the common language, she wanted to make sure he understood. "Good fight, you're staying here, yes?" It would be a waste if he just came here to join the fighting and then slipped away.

Kitoweo observed the horde with satisfaction. He had been rogue for sometime now, never finding a pride that he took to or felt at home in, but in every one he had stayed briefly they were mentioned with fear. he knew them as The horde, and some called them Nergui. even the firebrand, had not taken him serious and the higher ranked lion had laughed and refused his challenge. disgraceful. A challenge was a challenge. he might not be the strongest or fastest, but here, it was different, a sea of dark coats and bone markings stretched before him, all bearing multitudes of scars and signs of a long battle winding down. making him feel very conscious of his pristine dark coat. It was time to add a few scars... and join the horde. - A female hyena and a pale lion had just finished a good fight and Kitoweo took the chance. Debating between the lion and the Hyena. Taking advantage of his dark coat he slipped closer until he could smell the blood on both their breath- and pounced on the pale lions back- attempting to sink his claws into it's shoulders with a triumphant roar. He would leave today with the scars he was owed.

ABVirus I just want to let you know that Ochieng has not fought yet. He is just talking with some other lions at the moment. Vsevolod however has fought twice and won both. Don't forget to roll for attack too! Vsevolod chuckled at the other laughing beast. She was pretty and wild. Would it hurt to stick around for a bit from his rogue travels? Probably not. The lighter than his pelt female was a good fighter. He thought for sure that he was going to get snapped by those powerful teeth. "Yes I'll stick around if I'm allowed to." Cracking a grin at her. He would like to at least learn from these fighters if he could. Then someone sprang upon him and he snarled. How dare this lion come up against him without issuing a challenge as everyone else. He wondered if anyone else would join in his fight, or if they needed to. [OOC: I am going to do a separate roll for Ochieng jumping into the fray against the new lion attack Vsevolod.]

Ochieng had been conversing with Gael and keeping an eye on the fight. The dark hyena seemed to have won both his previous fights which were bother rather good. He could see that he was a bit bloodied by it all. It was when he saw another lion just attack that he himself threw himself into the fray. No challenge had been issued and it seemed that was how everything worked, at least for right now. He lunged at the other, claws unsheathed and fangs ready to tear into the other. He'd take whatever repercussions there were.

Kimya considered the lion's reply and nodded slightly. It sounded as though he would have to go through many more fights much like this one until he truly gained respect, but he was ready to take on the challenge. It was really quite admirable, thought she. The question of the ominous looking lioness startled her. "Me, fight? I..." She cast her eyes at the fighting grounds where a dark brown lion had just launched himself into the fray without any issued challenge. Her eyes went wide and she shrunk away. "I may fight, but not that beast. He has no decorum about fighting at all. Is... Is he one of the pride?" She inquired, wondering if all lions in this pride were as brute-like and straightforward as that one had been. Her eyes moved between the frightening lioness and the champion lion wondering how on earth she had come to join in their conversation to begin with. Maybe she was meant to be here. It did make her blood boil in a pleasant enough way, so perhaps a God had directed her paws here without her knowing. Only time would tell.

Raubtier watched the two hyenas fight, adding his own growling and cheers from the sidelines. It was a good fight, but eventually the male hyena got the upper paw by biting and holding the female in a way that prevented any retaliation. The feat was even more impressive since he had just bested a lioness. It would be interesting to see who would step up to fight next.
But before the two hyenas had cleared away a dark lion pushed himself through the crowd and entered the fighting ring. Instead of announcing a challenge he just attacked the winning male in the back. Raubtier was shocked and outraged. He snarled and the fur on his neck rose.
"That's not fair," he howled, "Kill him!"
A pale lion entered the fray, apparently unimpressed by the dark lion's tactics. Raubtier debated entering the brawl, but right now the only involved parties were not Nergui. The hyena, the dark and the light lions were all outsiders. If others joined the brawl he might reconsider. From this point he couldn't see if the female hyena was still there or if she'd slipped away.
