Rishima - Post 2

Rishima gave a smile as Gerraden appeared looking quite cleaned up and nice, something that caused him to reach out, smoothing back a lock of his dark hair, "You look really nice, Gerraden." He murmured, then laughed, "Not that you don't always look nice, but you look especially so today."

Flushing a bit as he gave his antennae a tug he gave a nod of his head, "I feel ready to go, yes. I had a lot of fun with our last outing so it feels more natural this time around for us to go out. Not to mention that a festival sounds so nice!" A far better reason to leave their comfortable home then the usual thing that drew him out, that being one battle or another. The fact that it was a celebration that was drawing them out this time actually put Rishima into a great mood.

"Hmm, I wonder if my sister Jerarda will be there with her mate and children?" He mused idly, then smiled, "We should say hello if we see them. I hear that their children are getting quite big." There was a sort of wistful note to his voice as he spoke of children, something he realized and quickly waved off. That was a conversation for another day he thought to himself as he offered his hand to Gerraden, "Shall we?"

AMINAH Post 2

Aminah felt like she was grinning just as widely as the kids when even Jerarda agreed to food - even if it was with just a little bit of chastising in her voice. She noted that Jerarda seemed to be pushing herself as the leader of the group, and she understood. Even if the children had won out of coming along to the festival, they were still in buckets of trouble, and they couldn't get everything they wanted.

It was when Shima spoke up that she felt herself heave a sigh. Speaking of getting everything that they wanted. She looked first to Shima, and then up to Jerarda. She felt like she knew where this was going. "Shima dear, we're going to look for the food vendors. I'm not sure we'll be stopping at the games today." She began. She was hoping that Jerarda would take over and sound much more convincing about it all than she did.

JHANA Post 2

Both of her mom's were on board with food! Yes! She craned her head, looking for the food stalls, hoping to see something delicious pass in front of them, before Shima opened her mouth.

Games? Wasn't it enough that they were allowed to go at all? She shot Shima a look in exasperation before crossing her arms. She couldn't wait to see what her moms had to say about this one.

Drexl- Post 3

Drexl chuckled as he was led by his sibling. He looked up at the tree and then down to his sibling. "What? Are we scared of a little tree? This is nothing. We trained on similar trees." he had made sure of that. He had picked one rather large tree he had hoped would allow him and his siblings to gain some skills in flexibility. He hummed a little. Tucked the flower in a pouch and smiled as he started to make his way up the tree.

"Race ya!"

Ikkio (Post 2) :
~~~~~~~~~~
Ikkio followed the bright green tuft of Zumurundi's tail through the crowd, soon finding that she didn't have the breath or stamina to run after him too much further. Running wasn't really a strength of hers, after all. "Zumu, hang on!" she called to him but, in a shocking display of defiance, he ignored her. "Zumu!" she gasped. Where was he going?!
Zumurundi tracked the scent, not bothering with his mistress behind him as he tracked it. It was one he hadn't smelled in years, a good smell of a good person. A person who was supposed to be gone forever. He paused, briefly, to scent the air, before dashing forward with renewed vigor.
"Zumu!" The break he had given her was barely enough to catch her breath and do more than notice just how much her legs ached. "Zumu, get back here!"
There! Zumurundi halted, panting, as he identified the source of the scent. It was her! Bigger, taller, different but her! He bounded up to her, barking happily, his tail swishing with joy. He gave the little thing next to her a happy bark too, just for the heck of it, before grinning up at Ikuri.
Finally, Ikkio had a chance to recover. She supported herself on her knees, gasping, determined now that Zumurundi would get it later for defying her. Soon, though, her entire stance on the situation would change...
Ruelash (Post 2) :
~~~~~~~~~~

There were Obans around, and the sight of them made Ruelash tense and reach for his swords. His memory was not much, but he did remember enemies who he'd been allowed to fight. He missed it all, the battle, the glory, the violence. That was his kind of festival, and he longed to bring back some of that energy now.

"Hey, Volka, there's two of them fire folk together." he said, nudging her. One of them looked vaguely familiar, but frankly they all looked like Obans. "I bet they're plotting... you take the left one, and I'll take the right one..." he said, hopefully.

He had a feeling that she would respond in the negative, but that didn't mean he wasn't going to try and see if he could get some action and fun out of this trip.

Volkarosh (Post 2) :
~~~~~~~~~~
"No. Lashy, no." she said, holding his arm tightly, "No. We aren't going to attack them out of the blue. I'm sure that they aren't plotting against the festival." In fact they looked like they were minding their own business. In fact, they looked a little... intimate? Volkarosh wasn't really going to assess them any further. Best to leave them alone. "Come on." she tugged at him, "lets go further up and see if we can't get a good view of the stars... Maybe a lantern?" Gently, she pulled him away from the Obans - She didn't want trouble. And she knew that Lash liked to be up high, and he had certainly been eyeing the glowing lanterns...
Damissan | 3
“Socializing is an incredibly valuable way to spend one’s time regardless of how much there is to spare,” Damis countered with a head shake. “I know next to nothing of these people—” Which was, possibly, in retrospect, an unwise way to begin a journey and delve blindly into strange lands, but the option to go about it any other way had long since passed, so, “—and speaking to them helps me learn. And make a presence of myself. I don’t see how you’d expect to get anything done without any personable interaction…”
Not that Damis actually knew what Xilarn did for a living to make his way prior to their arranged-for ‘partnership,’ but given the man’s general disinterest towards talking about himself or conversing with Damissan any more than absolutely necessary, Damis chose not to pursue that line of inquiry in the given moment.
Instead, he asked, “How long has it been since you were here last? Were you young, then? I don’t suppose much has changed, but—”
His eyes pinched, briefly.
“You still remember…” But, at least, Xilarn didn’t seem especially bothered, if his smile was anything to go by, so Damissan’s expression relaxed in kind back to amusement. “I can attest to that, I suppose. If you’d like the rest, I can purchase another for myself…you’re welcome to enjoy the full benefit of my—” ‘…parents’…’ “—wealth.”
Lasseyn Post Two
        She smiled at the nice woman. "It's okay! We can split the cost! When I came with my twin last year we would get different small plates and share them so we could eat all different types of food."
        She looked around for a second when the girl asked if she would get in trouble. Spotting her mother not to far off she turned her attention back to Ikuri. "Nope, mom will be watching from a far. She said she isn't gonna follow me around, but I know she is." Although there was a tinge of disappointment in her voice she was happy that her mother was at least not right next to her the whole time this year.
        "Oh how rude of me! My name's Lasseyn." She was about to suggest some of the places they could get the best food when a creature came up to them. It seemed happy to see Sentha, and even gave her a happy bark. "Oh what a pretty Radaku. I don't know who he belongs to, but my mom might. She's a beast tamer, so she's worked with most of the beasts in this area."
Lasarra Post Two
        She smiled and shook her head. "No thank you, I'm into more practical things. To be honest I just stopped here because I have a good view of my daughter but I'm not super close so she has some sort of independence." With those words she looked back to where Lasseyn was still talking with the shifter hybrid, although now there was a radaku with them. She didn't recognize the beast, which worried her a bit, but it seemed friendly so she wasn't too worried.
        "She's good, getting so big and craving independence I'm not ready to give her yet," she said with a chuckle, "and she was very impressed. She wouldn't stop telling her twin about your magic for quite some time."
        "I'm Lasarra, a beast tamer." she offered in return.
Ondine Post 1
Ondine was all but dragged home from the great tournament, her ear tugged and reprimands spinning throughout the trip. Her father was not pleased with her surprise entry, and she had to resist fighting back. It would do her no good, and with the great festival so close she knew she had to be on her best behavior if she wanted to witness one of the most amazing sights she had ever seen.
Now, with the day upon them, she did her best to ensure she assisted wherever she could. At the moment, she was working to dry the lanterns, smiling and nodding to those around her as her dark skin seemed to glow with her unique markings. She may have been a surprise to start, but it seemed everyone was welcoming on the eve of their greatest celebration as a tribe.
Glancing around, Ondine resisted the urge to smile and wink at the passing shifters, taking it all in and smiling to herself with the hopes of stumbling into fun before the night was over.
Biroki (Post 3)
~~~~~~~~~~

Biroki laughed a little. "They, er, aren't really practical, are they... But, I mean, they fit in with the whole festival theme, right?" He said, trying to justify the rakish accessories. Not that anything really needed justifying.

"Oh, is she interested in magic?" He looked in the direction she was looking, nodding in understanding. "I, er..." he smiled meekly, "I used to do that with my two..." his voice caught. Only one now. "Long ago." It was odd how the sad feeling lasted, lingering in his mind like the taste of wine on the tongue. Normally, he was good at reigning back his sadness, but there was something about the person that the youngling - presumably her daughter - was talking to that made him feel... wistful, calling back memories of the daughter that was now long gone from this world.

Or, perhaps that was the radaku that joined them, very familiar and very green. "Oh! It seems that my daughter's radaku has taken a liking to her." Which meant that Ikkio would not be far behind - they were seldom apart. He wasn't sure if he wanted her to come into contact with such a sweet young hybrid such as her daughter but, well, independence. And perhaps Ikkio was lost in the crowd... of course she would be at the festival. Why should she not be? Yet, somehow, he had hoped not to have to see her for a while... she made him uneasy at times.

But Zumurundi was a good radaku, as predators went. "He's a friendly sort." he glanced back at Lasarra, "M-maybe he knows she's the daughter of a beast tamer..." He smiled, turning back thoughtfully. Best not to have two faces watching the girls - otherwise the little one would get suspicious and that would ruin the effect, wouldn't it?

"Your name is actually really well known! When people mention beast taming and breeding, they often mention you as one of the best." he commented. A complement for a complement, after all.

Volkarosh (Post 3) :
~~~~~~~~~~
How much longer could she keep her uncle at bay? He was not about to leave her alone in a crowd, but how long could she keep him from hitting something? Volkarosh wasn't sure, but she had to figure something out. Maybe her gambit with the trees and the lanterns would work, maybe not. Maybe, indeed, only for a few moments, but it would at least buy her time to come up with a new plan. Oh, how she wished her mother was there. Her mother could handle Ruelash better than she could...
Volkarosh stopped, frowning in surprise as she thought she recognized a face - a distinctive face. "Excuse me," she began, making sure Ruelash was in her peripheral vision as she approached. The person before her was hard to forget - dark skinned but clearly speckled. "Were you fighting at the tournament? In the prentice bracket?" Of course, Volkarosh had been eliminated in the first round, and this hadn't been the girl she'd fought, but still... Volkarosh could have sworn she'd seen her there.
Ikuri
Post #3
"Sounds like a plan!" Ikuri nodded in agreement. It was best to share what they bought, that way they could try as much food as their stomach could handle. So Lasseyn had a twin... that was lovely! It was something nice to know, having a sibling meant having a true friend-- a special bond that not many, including herself, had. Sure they could piss you off and make you cry and break your heart, but in the end, when the chips were down... they were there by your side. They'd make you laugh even in your darkest hours. She couldn't help but feel a bit jealous... Yet didn't show it though as it wasn't anyone's fault she was left without a family since the accident. The teen tilted her head slightly at the direction the child was looking, her eyes trailed to the alkidike shifter and back to Lasse. At least she didn't thought of doing anything rash. Ikuri quickly looked back at Lasseyn and smiled. "Glad to meet you Lasseyn! Hope we can have lots of fun at this festival together!" She giggled, which died down a bit after seeing the child disappointed.
"Well... you know..." She said, trying to lift her spirits up. "By watching you at that distance, you can show her just how capable you are... for your age! Think about it! Show her how responsible you are and little by little she'll worry less when you're on your own!" She smiled. It was a lot to hope for but it was worth the shot, plus it was something she considered that could develop into a healthy behavior. When the Radaku approached both of them, Ikuri felt as if she had seen him long ago. It was a strange feeling. Right now it's like she was having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time-- as if she had forgotten this before... Nevertheless, Ikuri smiled at the creature and squatted down to get an even closer look. "I think I've seen him before." She muttered as she stroked his head. "Do you think we should take him with your mom so she can find his owner?" Ikuri smiled at the child and looked back at Zumurundi. "Or should we keep him with us and later we try to find his owner? He seems nice and we could start trying out different plates!"
Of course she'd let her decide-- She wanted to be independent, might as well start taking decisions!
Sol
Slowly at first, and then with increasing rush, the people in Sol funneled to the tables to get the materials for their lanterns. The younglings and younger prentices were all excited. It was always the best part of the night when they got to make their own to light.
The lanterns were made with care, the chatter of the people filling the space of the canopy platforms. Some still ate while they worked, others just enjoying the crafting and creating of their prayers. Some liked to draw on the lanterns, decorating them and making them vibrant with color, others wrote their prayers on the lanterns themselves, hoping for a good year to come, or health for their family, or prosperity. The moon Goddess Serin watched over everyone, no doubt she would pay extra attention to today's events. Everyone believed their voices would be heard tonight.
