He stared at her and slowly turned his head to one side. "A...star...war." Kids and their new fangled words. He didn't get it at all. "So...like a army plane?" He said, wondering if he was anywhere close.
"Well, if we can't find one. How about a arcade? There are plenty of those around."

Mercy thought about it for a long moment and as she thought, her hand wandered to scratch Arthur behind the ears. "Hmmm... I mean, I suppose you could consider it an army plane, I mean... like a space one... Have you not seen Star Wars Arthur?" Mercy had a feeling she knew what her afternoon was going to entail if so. Granted she wasn't a huge fan of them, the new ones were actually pretty cool and she had liked the most recent release quite a bit. "But I think an Arcade will work, just have to find a good one..." She clicked her tongue for a moment, before editing her text. Hey, if you're free sometime this week I was hoping we could hang out at an arcade! You can show me some moves maybe? She turned the phone back to Arthur. "Better?"

"Much better! We need to scout for a great place that will keep his interest and then a place to eat after." He said, clearly excited to plan a date for her and a much needed distraction from many other things. It would actually be the first date he ever got to help with. Eleanor was not much of a dater.
"So......why do you like him so much?"

Mercy nodded and with a swallow, pressed the send button on her phone to send the text off to Nick. She didn't expect a text back any time soon, but she hoped that maybe before the night was over he'd text her back. At Arthur's question though, Mercy let out a sigh, placed her chin in her hands and turned a bit to look at him. "Oh, I don't know? He's kinda sweet in that shy sorta way? I mean... He's cute? God, I sound so shallow saying that... Uhm... He's really knoweldgeable about things in gaming and stuff and I guess... In a way learning it from him lets me interact with my little brother more? I really don't know, I just... think he's a really cool guy." She really hadn't thought about the why of it all, really. Sirene Naiads Nick got himself a text XP

"Maybe you'll find out more reasons when you are with him. You don't need big reasons to like someone, and being pleasing to the eyes doesn't hurt." he said as he licked a paw and cleaned his face slowly, smirking behind the paw until his glasses tilted off his face. He dismissed them to continue cleaning his face.
"Have you had a boyfriend before?"

Mercy puffed out her cheeks and let out a huff of frustration. "It's the principle of the thing, Arthur! I'm a lady and I shouldn't be shallow." She said before sticking her tongue out at Arthur. "But no, he's wicked cute, glasses or no..." She let out a small sigh. "No, I've never had a boyfriend, Arthur. Or really any boy give me the time of day. Most of the boys I've dealt with were my older brother's friends and they all viewed me as the annoying little sister. Not to mention Johnathan would have probably slugged them one because he is an overly aggressive football player." He added with a dark mutter. 'Nick is... really the first boy I've ever had any real long term contact with and it's... really nice."

"Pah, a lady is a lady when making appearances. You can be whatever you want outside of the public eye. If you can't relax and be open in your own room around friends, then when can you be? Seeing something pleasing to the eye means you are human and appreciate a good looking person." He said, pawing the air in as if to brush away the idea of appearances in private.
"Your brother seems to just cherish you, but you ARE a lady and not just a sister, and if I can help you in any way, I will."
Then, as he curled in again, settling onto the bed, he went back to another thought. "Also, I forgot. No. I have not see The Star War. I don't watch many movies."

Mercy shook her head, but still, she had to smile at Arthur. "A lady should strive to be a lady all the time, Mr. Arthur." She said in a slightly teasing tone as she reached out and poked the tip of his nose with her finger. "Else what is the point of being a lady?" At his comment about her brother though she just rolled her eyes. "The only person Johnathan cherishes more than himself is his fiance, and that's a by a very slim margin at best. I am sure he cares about me, but I am sure it had more to do with him not wanting his friends to rag on him because they were dating me. But I wouldn't know because, well, they never showed interest." She shrugged her shoulders. At his last statement though she smirked. "Alright, well, you and I need to reconvene to the living room, I'll make us some nice snacks and some tea and we'll have a bit of a marathon, parents shouldn't be home for a few more hours we can get through the better part of the prequels." The middle set was super dry to her but she supposed that they were okay... for old movies.

"Don't bother with tea for me. I don't the stuff. A bunch of water and leaves. If I wanted that, I'd drink from a puddle at the park." He said, moving over to where he dumped the snacks.
"But I have snacks for us. Uh...can we bring a blanket?" He liked kneading blanked when watching TV and getting comfortable.

Mercy smiled and nodded her head. "You did at that, and I would be a poor host to not utilize your gift, thank you for reminding me, Arthur." She said as she stood herself, moving to grab the snacks herself, and waiting for Arthur to hop off the bed so she could grab the blanket on top of it. "What do you drink, and I'll get you that instead." She said with a small nod of her head. "Can't leave a guest wanting after all..."

Moving to the living room, Arthur curled back on the couch and waited for Mercy's return. Once the snacks and blankets were settled, he moved into her lap and curled into the covers before, after some careful kneading and purring in the same motion, he settled in. The lights were turned off, and the movie started.
Mercy was kind to give him commentary for his many questions, but soon he settled and was absorbed. In the soft glow of the TV screen nestled with her, he felt nostalgic of days in his memories with Elanor, and the night didn't feel as lonely.
It was nice, and he wished for more of these moments.
Torvil Fin for movies together like besties.
