June took the positive reaction as a sign that she should let him go, which she did. Captain immediately began running around, excitedly stomping his little feetsies at all the balloons. Meanwhile, June picked up her glasses and headed towards the balloon pile.
It was only after she'd gone over to grab a balloon that she noticed ... they weren't actually throwing with their hands. She took off her glasses and wiped them off, then put them back on. That was probably just a trick of the water droplets, right?
"Okay ... Watch out!!" She lobbed it at America, and hit the girl in the back. That got a little giggle out of her and she gave a little victory noise.
"Oh um- you can pet him if you want. He's really nice." June went to great lengths to make sure he was well trained because technically her apartments weren't even supposed to have dogs, but she'd cut an agreement with the owner provided that she pay a hefty pet deposit and he passed an obedience inspection.

Chel just sat back and enjoyed the sight of Shun getting nailed in the a**. "Looks like the pants are comin' next." She was too lazy for balloon fights.

Well now Shun's pants were soaked. Since America seemed to be distracted by the dog on the field now, he sent another balloon straight for her. It was a little harder to get the aim down with her low to the ground like that. The second one was aimed at Chel once more. "Enough from the peanut gallery."

America introduced herself to the corgi and then immediately began to bestow pets and praise upon him with shameless adoration. "Yes, you are so good, you are on my team, right? Yes you are, such a good boy ye-" A balloon nearly hit the playful little stumpy wumpy spuddy duddy and then stopped midair. America gave Shun a you monster glare but her righteous defense of puppies came at the cost of decent aim because, well, puppies!

Captain began snuffling his way towards the pile while America was throwing, bit down on one and made an offended face that it had popped. He did not have a huge concept of physics.
"Hey ... Captain! Get outta there!" she called to the little snuffler, now occupied with getting him out of the balloons.

In a very mature tone, Chel called out, "Missed me, missed me, now you gotta kiss me." This was followed by a crude gesture involving two fingers and her tongue.

Shun completely missed that glare from America as his attention was now focused on Chel, who had successfully pulled aggro. He also paid no mind to the dog on the field. Two more water balloons came flying after Chel.

June picked up another balloon and lobbed it in the general direction of Shun, but it just sort of sadly flopped on the ground. She didn't have a very good arm.
"Make sure he doesn't eat any of them okay!" she called at America. "I don't want to clean it up later!"

"No. I am trying to get you to shut up," he hissed at Chel. Three balloons came flying in his direction. Two of them had missed, but he turned in time to snatch the third before it could burst. Grumbling lowly, he launched it back at America, before lobbing a second one at the teen as well.

Temperance had been wandering around town listlessly when she got the text. Quote: Text to: Tip Well omg please say he's yours. She'd luckily been long enough in Ashdown (aka her life, even if it was the outskirts of town), to know the best places for such a fight. And that plus the visual cues in the video... well, Temperance didn't have anything better to do. She was greeted by the sight of several wet people as she entered the park and if that wasn't a sign she was in the right place, then it was a sign of freak rain and the skies were pretty clear, after all. Sneakily, she filched a balloon and lobbed it in the direction of America's back. And missed. Damn.

Wrinkling her brow, she darted forward to grab another. "Maybe you should be easier to hit!" she yelled towards the red-head. Immediately she ducked her head and threw the balloon. Gosh, that had been loud.

America was now the official Protector of Captain Corgi. Empowered by doggy defense duty, she stopped both of Shun's balloons and then a third on from an unexpected corner. Beaming at Temperance even as the balloon that had stopped mid air dropped with a splat, America waved at the other girl. "Hello, nurse!"Shameless. She sent another balloon toward Shun, but sent the second at Temperance. Only to have Shun stop his and for Temp to just ******** catch hers like a potato. Noticing the Captain go for a large piece of colorful plastic, America floated that up and away as well. She was going to get at least one thing right, damnit!

With her newfound ability to be Seen By Dogs, Sunny was like, super excited to get a text of a dog video. Now she, too, could participate in puppy shenanigans. She could throw the sticks, and tug the rope, and do all kinds of exciting things. And she was going to! Who cared for water balloon fights? Who cared for danger to hair and makeup? She wasn't wearing any makeup and her hair could probably use a wash anyway. No. She was here for the dog. "Oooooooohhhhhhhhh," whispered Sunny, stealthing away from the water balloon disaster zone and over to the puppy. "What a cute baby…"

June picked up a balloon and hurled it at some of the newcomers (which missed because she was June and of course she did). She blinked a few times as it seemed some of the action had come to a hault. When her eyes focused on what was causing it ...
Oh. Of course it was Captain stealing the show.
Said dog was now rolled on his back and waiting for tummy scratches, getting his fur totally soaked and muddy in the process.
"Ohhh I'm going to have to clean that," she mumbled.

Chel snorted as Shun's feeble attempts and was about to retort something when she noticed Sunny, the figure from the cliffs, had joined them.
"Shun," she said more seriously to get his attention, and then nodded in Sunny's direction.

Well that didn't work out. One of the balloons came flying back at him, but he managed to stop it before it hit him. Shun kept it aloft while he stepped back to get a little more cover again. He had been moving a little too much, and it was starting to strain his injuries. A moment or two to have a breather should be enough, he figured. As he did so, a few more people had joined on the field. Thankfully, America had drawn most of the fire. One he didn't recognize, but the other... Shun's gaze flicked between Chel and Sunny, as she pointed her out. He considered for a split second, but just instead lobbed two water balloons straight for Chel instead. Because Sunny hadn't actually done anything to warrant becoming a target. Yet.
