Well, if today wasn't the worst day to come to class, Syome wasn't sure what was. She was so behind with studying, she seriously wasn't ready for a test!! Who knew what was going to happen to her if she didn't do well. With a panicked start, Syome rushed through the exam, not sure how things were going to turn out...
Well, they weren't great, that was for sure. Three points above failing?! She wanted to die. Darn test! She nearly wanted to ask for a retake, but she wouldn't dare risk getting lower than that. She woudl have to accept that passing is passing...

Alright, Vitacea felt as good as she could get walking into the class. She had studied all night, made flashcards and pretty much did all of the studying she could in six hours. Great plan until she had gotten the paper in front of her...
Her nerves had gotten the best of her and she had pretty much forgotten most of what she had studied for. UGH! At least she got the ones she wrote down correct... No more all-nighters for her.

Zahra had really enjoyed the lessons about plant cells as anything to do with plants or nature usually held her attention. Although, finding out there was going to be a test on the subject made her a bit nervous. As interesting as she had found the lessons, she may or may not have gotten distracted a few times, mentally listing her favorite flowers in order of preference. She worried at her bottom lip as wondered how much of what they read and what the teacher talked about, that she remembered. Zahra squealed with delight when she saw her grade, all her worry forgotten. She'd done really well and only missed a few questions. Not a perfect score but still one to be proud of. This grade is good enough to show my caretakers The little baphomet bounced with excitement, waiting for class to be over so she could do just that.

Divone was pretty calm as she took her seat. She knew that the exam was today, but she didn't study very hard. Memorization really wasn't her strong suit, so trying to pound the elements into her head wasn't going to happen over night. It was a long process, but hey, she'd try her best here.
Turns out, she did pretty well, especially compared to her one friend. Slow and steady would win and hopefully she'd have them all memorized by the end of the semester. With a yawn, she tucked her test into her back and made her way to her next class.

Pearl remembered only some of the plant parts she had learned at the beginning of the year, but her herbalism class she had taken as an elective more recently had really helped her out.

Hawthorn studied the text that he and Pearl had used for their fieldtrip assignment, and matched up the identifiers with the sketches Pearl had done.

No... wait... That wasn't right at all. He'd charged ahead labelling one of the plants, assuming it was the one identified in the book. But the more he tried to match up the diagrams, the more he realized, the samples he had under the microscope weren't matching up with the photos in the book...

This wasn't right at all. He was starting to grasp the concept, but just dawning understanding wasn't good enough. Scrunching his face up, he hunched down over his microscope, trying to bring the slide into better focus.

Malik felt amazing about this test; sure, his mother and daddy always seemed awfully smart, but he wasn't always sure about himself. But science was always a fun subject and the hybrid was excited that he appeared to remember so much! Hopefully the teacher was impressed with his answers. Usually he didn't get a chance to brag, but if he did really good on this one, maybe he could make it up onto the fridge too.
"Here!" he chirped quietly as he passed the piece of paper up onto Flora's desk.

What was his favorite thing about science? Arden really hated prompts like these because even if they were his personal choice, he never felt like he was saying the right thing. The Chimera scratched his cheek, considering yet.
'My favorite aspect about science is it's application in every day life, and the potential for it to help Nightmares and Daydreams alike. Not everyone understands there is a lot of thought that goes into non-magic based medicine, or to grow the food they eat, or to even build their homes. It is very practical to know even at the most basic level, and it is fascinating that our ancestors were able to realize some of these things before they even had the tools to properly test their theories. While math and abstract concepts may make it really scary, science is a really fundamental topic and it makes me upset when people do not believe it is important or say it is a boring class.' Well, maybe that response would get him suck up points, but it was the truth. Maybe it was the proximity to medicine that made him really sentimental about science, but it was one of his favorite classes. Maybe if he had more time here at the Academy he'd help tutor in the subject but he had missed that boat by a long shot now.

Raa did pretty good on his test! It pleased him greatly to know that him and his brother Malikah were pretty close in grade. Malikah, of course, did just a little bit better than he did. Raa wondered to himself how well Anubis did on their test.

Percy just managed to pass his test. It seemed plant knowledge was not his forte, and the bakeneko didn't really seem to mind all that much. He'd just have to try harder next time.

Honey stared at the paper, a vacant look on their face. So far they had written one sentence;
‘Science is really cool.’
“Nice,” they muttered sarcastically under their breath. Placing their head in their hands they tried to think of something, anything, they’d studied so far. Surely there was one topic… With a small ‘ah’ of realisation, finally Honey had something to write down.
‘My favourite part of science so far has definitely been the whole chemistry thing. I loved learning what acid went with what alkaline to change colours and sometimes even the structure of the chemicals. It was really fascinating to see how the different stuff affected each other and some of the resulting colours were straight up impressive. I also loved that one time when the teacher added just normal dish soap to hydrogen peroxide and then catalysed it with yeast and it caused a huge amount of foam to burst from the flask and obviously that was awesome in itself, but then learning why there was heaps of heat and stuff was pretty fascinating. So yeah, chemistry is the best.’
