A playful little whine and some submissively bared fangs and she was off, doing as she was told to, running ahead of them both only to double back breathlessly, leaping in long strides eagerly past Jordan's golem. It all looked like a huge and needless waste of energy but she couldn't help it, a fuzzy comet of energy which seemed to have decided the other golem was her kind and beneficent mistress.
"How many times have you gone huntinnng?" she crooned, giving Jordan an adoring sort of look. "You are so strong and clever mistress, I bet you could capture the pumpkin moon and bring it back if you wanted."

Well, he hadn't expected to see this.
A very short demon stood, looking through the trees at the couple that was walking off. A over-eager dogish woman was drooling over a talker, robed woman, and it was far from the behavior he had seen before.
Blue skinned with horns like a bull, he at least wasn't a festering mess. Instead, he was bare-chest, wearing a sort of tattered animal skin skirt, with bandages about his wrists and ankles. With a pudgy nose, a mane of red hair, the Dokkaebi titled his head in a bit of confusion.
"Seems they're getting along." He said looking up to his companion.

The skeleton with a flowery hat, sundress, and sandals wrapped up her ankles was too busy gently touching her own hands to notice.
"Are they? I don't have a tongue," she articulated in surprise, very sweetly.
After Harrison's artifact run, Rodney had every intention of letting Terry back into the cave. Even if the cave looked like it was going to fall apart any minute. But when he put Terry down, the small terra cotta hedgehog had tagged along any way. Rodney had worried about him once they'd gotten back to the woods, but at least in Halloween he'd have plenty to eat and wouldn't have to worry about melting.
Rodney had knelt down and given the hedgehog a very long talk about being happier there, and had ended up crying in the middle, and petting Terry's soft clay ears, and at the end of it all (and in spite of Lawrence's lecture) ended up with a minipets cage and a new apartment resident.
He felt like Terry deserved to go on a few longer walks, without the risk of being killed. ...And maybe another chance at releasing him somewhere that he'd be happy. And with other minipets. Rodney held the end of a long black leash that also had bone prints on it, and Terry sniffed the grass, tugging at a green, glowing worm with sharp teeth.
It wasn't quite a dog, he kept telling himself.
Right now Rodney was absolutely enchanted with the way he could see his metacarpals as they moved. If only he'd brought his materials! In terms of references (as an artist), it was a dream situation. If, as with most things in his life recently, very strange.

"I've brought many minipets back. For the cataloging of new types and colorations, of course. I used to have a battle minipet." He stopped himself from mentioning that he kept one as a pet currently; Tiny wasn't a fighter, and there was no need to let Lawrence know that, considering. He settled further into the role, ignoring Ferros's quiet laughter. "Why thank you, but the moon is not a minipet! How silly." An indulgent smile.
He didn't notice the other figures behind them yet, not expecting anyone to be there.

"Wow." she said. "I mostly CHOP THEM UP." and she clipped her fangs as if this was somehow an example of this. "SNIP SNIP. I think its to make me beautiful somehow but ehhh. I don't know how that works." she shrugged, seeming unphased by the plight of small minipets. "Have you been to the moon?" she asked. "Maybe it's like a ball."
All of her conversations were held while running around wildly in loops and circles, her robes a wild billowing cloak about her scuttling and scrabbling paws.
She spotted their companions and froze in a bipedal emulation of a pointer dog, directing Jordan towards them. "Look mistress!" she barked. "THERE." And she bounded towards the two unfamiliar citizens. "Hello!" she said. "And GRRRRRRRRR" and bared her teeth for good measure. "Don't TOUCH MY MISTRESS OR I WILL BITE YOU."

Melvin rose a furry eyebrow as Rodney stared at his hand like he was having a bad acid trip. "Yeah, a skeleton with a tongue would look silly." Not that the flowered hat and dress weren't ridiculous enough. He wondered where the golem creation department came up with their ensembles.
From the paperwork, Jordan and Lawr were these two creatures, but noting about how the ingumai acted or even moved reflected the name scrawled over the rental form. The blonde had never come off as energetic and so chipper to him. It was really disturbing and this was beside a sundress-clan skeleton.
As the inugami approached and barked at them, he rose two thick hands up. "Down girl." Before he looked over. "Mistress?"
Looking over at Rodney, he reached slowly to grip the skeleton's wrist. "Hey, wanna see something neat?" He said to the bone-lady before pulling off her hand and holding it up in the air in front of the dog-beast.
"Hey girl. Want the bone? Wanna play with the bone?" He sang, wiggling Rodney's detached hand up in the air above him.

The assault happened too quickly for Rodney to react to having his arm ripped off. It detached with an easy click, and the disembodied hand (which he could still feel) grasped uselessly at the air.
He still flinched at the grabbing, but there was no pain, and no follow up series of blows.
"H-hey, wait...M-" he amended, "What..whatever your name is. Give it back!"

Lawrence stared at Melvin's hands as he told her to stay down and her pupils got rather big. When he said Mistress, her attention turned briefly to Jordan, her lolling tongue vanishing into her jaws with concentration. When she looked back to the potential threat he was waving a long set of bones in the air.
Everything else was forgotten and she all but crouched, her tail wagging hard enough to move her whole rear end as she fixated on the arm.
"Oh I want it." she said. "I want it, I want it so much." She shifted her weight from one paw to the other restlessly over and over. "I want want want want it. Give! Give! Give it to me."
It seemed to be taking all her self control not to try and pre-emptively snatch it from Melvin.

"I think it's a bit too big to throw," Jordan said, filing away the snippet of information about why Lawrence was working on minipet experimentation for later.
"I don't think they mean us any harm," he said as the two newcomers approached. "Why, hello. Ah. She's with me for this little expedition we're having today," he answered the demon, dodging the question of why exactly he was being called Mistress. He wasn't entirely sure himself. He held up the bag with the trapping kit. "We're off to the woods today."
He blinked when the demon snatched the skeleton's hand and wiggled it at the inugami. "Now, then," he said sternly to the inugami, "you can't chew that too much. She's going to need it back, yes?"

Being short made keep away hard and he knew he wouldn't be able to keep it long. As the bone hand moved in his hand, he looked at the overly-eager Lawr and found it just too hilarious to not just run with whatever game Lawr was playing right now. If he wanted to act like a dog, then he was going to have fun playing with the pet. Maybe it would keep him from naming other people as Mistress next time.
"Okay. You want the bone? You want the bone?! I'm gonna throw it so get the bone." He sang with enthusiasm and encouragement before turning to Rodney and tossing it back to the man.
"Catch!"
Then he pointed at the skeleton. "Get the bone!"

Rodney did catch.
And his distress increased about tenfold.

Lawrence's ears perked as Melvin talked, giving him the most rapt look of attentiveness possible. "Yes. Yes YES." she barked, growing more and more impatient. "Oh my jack oh my jack, oh my jack." she stammered getting higher and higher pitched as he finally threw it, tearing after the flying arm at breakneck speed.
She leapt trying to catch it in mid-air in her teeth and hit Rodney like he was a bag of bowling skittles.

Terry, who was temperamental at best, responded by sinking its sharp teeth right into Jordan's ankle.
Rodney responded with a shaking, "Um, AHH!" before being knocked into a pile of about 20 major upset bones.
"No! No, off!" He said, even at the top of his voice only managing a sort of strained, soft, squeaking noise.
The sunhat fluttered safely to the ground.

"Good girl! Come now. Bring me back the bone." Melvin called out, not wanting Lawr to get too enthused in his role by taking Rodney apart.

Lawrence was overwhelmed by bones and could not think of much else. It was probably some sort of punishment for his libido he thought grimly as she seized up the arm she'd been pursuing in her slobbering teeth and swung around victoriously. "'ESSSSS" she cheered victoriously, holding it aloft, before staring at a very delicious looking leg bone and trying to also fit this into her mouth, dropping both in the process, finally giving up and running off with a leg at the thigh instead, dragging the foot on the ground.
She paused and stared from Melvin to Jordan, trying to decide who to bring it to.
"NO TAKE" she shouted with her mouth full of leg and turned and ran a short distance away from all of them to chew on her prize.
