Lawrence shook his head and looked disgusted at the kiss. "Can you both not do that in here?" he said, getting a guilty flinch out of Rep for his trouble. "And I am not being overly ambiguous, I am not going anywhere." Rodney got a concerned look. "Yes very very dangerous and a pendant won't save you if a spike shoots out of a wall, you fall down a huge pit or drown."
Melvin got a nonplussed look, Lawrence finding himself slightly offended by the other man's indifference to whether he tagged along or not.

Rodney could overall feel a fight stirring in the room. It wasn't that he was scared, in general, of harm. Spikes and pits weren't personal. They weren't angry, they didn't...hate him.
"It'd be good to practice," Rodney said, "with pits. I'd..." He folded his hands in his lap. "I'd feel better if you came, too."

"Lawr! The last thing I need to hear about after how the last mission I had is about pits and death. I'm trying to keep it together." He said, looking at Rep as if he just was completely ignoring what happened to Al.
"I don't want to even think of loosing another hunter like that."

Lawrence seemed to almost wilt at Rodney's comment, something about his glare at the two men he'd been united against moments earlier seeming to ice over. Rodney had betrayed him as far as he was concerned, turning on him and deliberately manipulating him into a situation he frankly wanted nothing to do with.
"This won't be practice." he said coldly. "This will be the very real deal."
And he had no sympathy at all for Melvin who of course wanted to make everything about him and his stupid mission where he'd lost some irrelevant hunter in the desert and hadn't even managed to earn him any years in doing so.
"Then don't." he snapped. "And try not to make it a habit going forward. Losing people, I mean."

Lawrence once again twisted and swiped at the other man to try and get free and it was all Rep could do not to simply impale the ******** again. Instead he let Harrison do whatever he'd decided to do, confident the old ******** was a weak peace of s**t.
"I'm not going, I'm not dressed, I'm not GOING." he hissed. "Someone HELP ME."

Melvin wilted at the comment of not losing people, now second guessing if he should go.
With Lawr forcefully picked up, he sighed again. "Harrison, is there a reason you are hellbent on taking him? Are you prepared to do this..." He gestured to Harrison holding Lawr as he twisted about. "...the entire time?"
He looked over at Rodney. "Are you okay with going?"

"I'm ready now," Rodney said, grabbing his coat and catching up to Harrison. "He...said he doesn't want to. You shouldn't...make him."
"Look, I'd love to oblige you. But here's the deal. Me and Rep could probably solo the damn thing. But you need at least five people, even if they're standing around in place doing jack s**t. On account of the puzzle part. I mean, no offense, but you're a liability except for the fact that you got two legs and can stand on s**t. You couldn't fight your way out of a wet paper bag. Weiman's stronger and if he'd straighten his s**t out he could learn a thing or two like he's asked before. Melvin's the only one of you that's worth a damn. Frankly, I'm doing you a favor, taking you on a guided tour of a ******** treasure cave and throwing in a free battle demonstration. Now, I'll do my best to get everyone home safe, so long as scratchy here doesn't keep trying to get an early start on my shield.

Lawrence loathed being made to do things he frankly did not want to do and refused to quiet down even while Harrison reasonably explained the situation and why everyone should tag along.
"The very PREMISE of the thing." he said with cold irritation. "Is fine for you and your lump of a husband, I am not an adventurer and I do not WANT to be. Even if Melvin and Rodney do."
But his will to fight was running out, not willing to be seen outside the room with his weapons summoned.

"Oh wow, Harrison. I'm touched." He joked back, though honestly was very happy to hear Harrison thought that much of him. There was also something very charming in how he handled Lawr and was so tender to Rep. Why could he have a nice husband? Life wasn't fair. He wouldn't mind a blonde either. Trying to reign his imagination back, he finished putting on his coat and pocketing a few stones from his runic toolbox into his pocket.
He moved to usher them out the door and locked it. "Well, you seem to know what you're in for woth all of us."

"Yeah, well, the thing about that is that you avoid adventure long enough it ends up coming around here anyhow. All sorts of s**t gets into the island. Horsemen, giant monsters, weirdass crystals. And the worst and most dangerous missions they got are all mandatory and all hands on deck. You've been worse about avoiding s**t than Weiman has."
Rodney wrung his hands, but didn't have anything to say in his defense.
"Shouldn't be too bad," Harrison said. "It would go smoother if everybody would pull their weight."
