With no rapport of affection established. Because any grown teen or adult that you want the respect from, or trust of, should be called 'coconuts' and 'little ones' in forum before their peers in a not-drill instructor situation.
Disinterest deepened to disapproval and dislike, as the story went. The bombastic display of threats at the introduction with the other two new fodder was now being followed with such a point to separate and declaim the lieutenants who were interested, public proof of incapability of doing the most basic of research to a job, and now making the upper ranks stand around and have to waste time watching some demonstration for children with the same declaimed lieutenants. It was embarrassing from a military standpoint of order of operations, and it was imbecilic from a civilian sort of expectations of efficiency in management.
This Sovereign was a finesse-lacking moron with a hardon for her own perceived cleverness. Aren't we blessed, we few, we proud, we 'worthy' of Special Operations.
Dragon cane vanished, and Schörl bridged, then steepled her fingers afore her own lips and chin. This is the blessed. The gift of Metallia.

General Xenotime
The thoughtful little expression on Xenotime's face, expectant and eager before, had dipped down into the realms of disapproval by this point. Whether Hessonite was grateful for the combined input of the generals that had all spoken up was really unclear, as she had swept it all aside almost dismissively. What was clear, however, was how unhappy she was with the content itself, and this was rather baffling to the violet haired fighter. Hadn't the other general-sovereign chastised them for not thinking ahead when recruiting new soldiers into the Negaverse? Now this one seemed displeased that a lot of them had.
Was there no way to please them? Was this an unpleasant window into what the future would hold for them all? Xenotime hoped not.
Lips set in a thin line, silver eyes turned to the lieutenants across the room, since that was where Hessonite's focus had shifted. Natrolite's gaze was caught and held for a moment, but at this point, she didn't believe he'd do or say anything terribly unfortunate, so as three other lieutenants were selected and called forward,Xe's attention slid to them.
Whatever the general-queen had in store, the general got the inkling that it wouldn't be terribly pleasant. It had pale fingers curling more tightly into her arms, posture going just a touch rigid. Anxious, because this all felt wrong.

Lt. Stibnite
The comparison to coconuts might had drawn a slight flicker of a smile from the woman as she walked in kind with the other two their General Queen had pulled from the crowd. She knew in the back of her mind that General Leucite was sucking in his breath and holding back. All she could hope for was that he would do no more. He had earned his place and she would not be the reason he lost it...less he wish to lose more later by her own hands.
Stealing glances at the two with her, Stibnite noted that the other female, Violane was it, seemed...unamused by the turn of events. Huntite, as she had seen before, followed orders or what he took as orders. A good man from the few times they had met.
Stibnite herself offered nothing of an introduction to their General Queen. She had not asked for one from them and she would provide no more information than was requested. Why clutter the woman's mind if she had not asked for it as she had the Generals and the Captains. So instead she gazed forward with those red eyes watching their 'leader's' movements.

General Leucite
Leucite allowed himself another moment of silence as Hessonite turned her attention back to the Lieutenants. Stibnite was correct in the fact that he was holding back and biting his tongue, but he knew well enough that Stibnite could handle anything the General Queen threw at her.
However, he still did not like this. Hessonite had already made it clear that she wasn't allowing Lieutenants and that she did not hold them in high regard. This had the smell of a demonstration to everyone of the power she held over them. If there was anything Leucite knew, an authority figure trying to prove their authority was one of them.
In this case, he had a feeling it would backfire, at least, on the upper echelon of the Special Operations officers. Some of the more weak willed Captains and all but the most brave of the Lieutenants would be sure to fall in line, but the Generals, the ones she had to work with....
Already his eyes were moving to those Generals, reading their expressions and body language, hoping that he was not the only one that found this display trite at best, and a waste of time and manpower at worst. Hessonite was not going to make friends. While Leucite did not generally question the Living Saint's judgement, Metallia was not infallible. It was possible she had simply chosen a poor fit. More likely however, she was testing their strength and patience and tenacity of will.
And if that was the case? Well, Leucite and any he brought into the fold would not be found wanting.

Super Sailor TyphonThe corrupted super sailor stood a bit behind Xenotime, uncharacteristically quiet and spending most of his time checking out the new General-Sovereign. After all, his snap judgment of the three new leaders placed her under the "********" category in his game of "********, Marry, Kill." So that's where his mind was at. However, he watched with increased curiosity as some lieutenants were called forth of a demonstration. What was she going to do? Fight them? That was hardly a fair match. Even an uncaring b*****d like Typhon felt that would be off. "Yo, is she about to kill these kids?" he asked quietly to his General, Xenotime. His whispers weren't all that quiet, however, and could be fairly audible for anyone attentive. "I'm all for learning the hard way but dude that would be fuuuuuuuucked."

The longer the meeting went on, the less sure of Hessonite's leadership the dark-haired captain was regardless of how open she tried to be towards the rose bearing officer. She could see well the effect of the General Queen's words on Schörl, Cinnabar, and Xenotime - a trio that Moonstone knew to be a good metric against which to judge capabilities, the flame-eyed General especially.
This is not good...she's making a poor impression with pet names. Is this what our own were passed over for? If she were simply a General, it would be less disconcerting, maybe. Why her and not Schörl? What makes Hessonite a better head of SpecOps than one of our own? Metallia had to have some reason to bring Hessonite in, to bring the new trio in...something other than their failure to eradicate the heavy white moon presence in Destiny City.
Three lieutenants were cajoled forward, setting Moonstone's mouth into an even more severe line of disapproval - whatever was going to happen, it was likely not going to be good for the trio of guinea pigs.
Moonstone's brow furrowed, body turning further towards Titan. She wondered what he thought of the young woman before them, of her words and actions, this loyal and stalwart servant of the Negaverse. "The corrupt may be asking the right question." Words low, meant for Titan's ears though she made no task of keeping it from being heard by those closest.

Lieutenant Natrolite - Observing
Hessonite hadn't gain any judgement from the man with her pet names, mostly because he didn't give two shits if she called everyone in the room turds. She was the boss here, the boss didn't have to be a formal stick up your a** type to get respect or trust. If she did her job well and had enough power to back up the names well then she had Natrolite's vote. Course he was just the type that respected power over anything else.
Besides Metallia picked her for a reason, so there had to be something more to her.
His general was flashed a wink when their eyes met, then blues flickered to the corrupt behind her. This would be amusing, from what he had experienced of the man he didn't have much of a filter. Natrolite grinned and folded his arms up under his chest, watching as the called upon went forward. Pfft and Xe thought he'd be the one to embarrass her, he was bright shiny star compared to that one.
This was going to be good.

General LeuciteThe whispering was... hardly whispering and Leucite had already been observing his fellow generals and now that observation shifted from them to their entourages. More specifically, to Xenotime and her merry band of misfits. His jaw set again, and being mindful not to interrupt the General Queen, sidled his way over to Xenotime and the corrupt. Dropping his voice so that the two of them could hear him without broadcasting his intent to the whole room, he cleared his throat. "General Xenotime, I'm not sure how you view... discipline among your underlings, but perhaps you might want to tighten the muzzle on this one, hm?" He motioned his head to Typhon with a look that showed no amusement. "He's... how to put this politely... a bit mouthy and it does you a disservice." With that, he turned his attention back to Hessonite, but kept an eye and ear on Xenotime and the corrupt Super... just in case.

Super Sailor Typhon"Hey, buddy," Typhon whispered to the other General, Leucite. He rose a middle finger to him. "Xentoime's got it under control. So instead of whining, why don't you put your mouth to good use and eat my a**? d**k." As far as he was concerned, he was defending himself and Xenotime - though she didn't need his defense..

General XenotimeThe general's head turned as Typhoon's voice floated up to her, and she made a small, curious noise before flicking a glance in his direction, then back across to the general-queen and the trio of lieutenants she'd called forward. Again, glad Natrolite wasn't among them. Lips pursed, she was about the answer the corrupt, but the words lingered on her tongue as Leucite made his way over to them, leaning in and dropping his voice. What he had to say at the woman smiling, her head tilting just a touch as she looked up at him, even as he turned the majority of his attention forward again. "Does it?" She sounded a little amused, at least if you didn't know her well. There was a very soft, very low purr to her words that betrayed her mood to anyone that had spent any considerable amount of time with her. Without looking back, the general reached to tangle slender fingers into a length of the corrupt's dark hair, using that to draw him closer to her back, more gently than he would probably be expecting. But she wasn't upset with him. His question, as far as she had been concerned, wasn't invalid, now the comment that had followed. He wasn't the only one with similar thoughts popping into their own heads. When he was drawn up close enough for the line of his body to bump against her back, she tipped her head to look up at him. "Be a dear, let the other general know how well disciplined you are." Her hand remained in his hair, not pulling, not hurting, not yet. It wasn't that she didn't keep her agents on tight leashes. It was that she valued certain other qualities over other, more window dressing ones.

General LeuciteLeucite raised a brow as the corrupt spoke up, once more turning his gaze to Xenotime. As she replied to his question, and told the corrupt to show him how disciplined he could be, Leucite added. "He made my point for me, as you can see." He said, motioning with a hand toward the Corrupt whose hair Xenotime held in her slender fingers. "Perhaps you and I have a difference in philosophy when it comes to our subordinates, but I would never allow any of mine to speak to another in such a manner." Not that he was insulted. If it were not for the fact that, by all appearances Xenotime had the discipline handled, Leucite would have taken matters into his own hands. But, being a somewhat new General, he did not want to flex the muscles of his new rank too hard and overextend his reach. This was... political as much as it was about superiority or hierarchy. He supposed that he and Xenotime also had different... criteria for selection as well, as he would not have selected anyone who couldn't keep their tongue in check. The irony of this did not escape him, given his own habit of speaking his own thoughts. "Perhaps, if you have time later, we could meet and discuss the benefits of our different strategies?" It was a simple, but genuine, attempt at forging something akin to a friendly working relationship, if not potentially a direct alliance. He turned his gaze back to the three Lieutenants and the General Queen. Yes... he had a feeling that he would have to start branching out sooner rather than later.

Captain Titanlåvenite He didn't know these lieutenants yet. There was no telling if some of them were weeks, days, hours only into training and brought to the meeting. If the woman was missing the basic policies as some of the Generals were offering, the likelihood that the Sovereign knew what stage of basic any of these were in wasn't very reassuring. To the giant captain, there was a definite benefit and help to an order in which to show new recruits their new skills. Starseeding practice wasn't in that first week or two of needing immediately perfected. Nether was lethal combat compared to sparring. They might be high school kids. They might never have thrown a punch in their entire half life.
What is she going to do with them?
Moonstone was at his side. Her bearing, and that of some others, physically voiced in at least one case, was contagious. Social animals didn't necessarily need words to give off vibes. He shifted his own weight from one foot to the other. I do not like this. Don't order violence here and now. Not at your own first talking to us. Do not be that kind of a lord.
He spoke softly back down to her in some agreement to the general uncertainty and unease. "May blood not spill so soon at what is this lord's table..."
He kept his grey eyes on the display though. "I fear it make the wood rot. Or show the color of the banner not sparing. After so much lost. "
This drags overlong. What more was there to say but her policies? what is this? What is this at all?

The General Queen’s eyes sparkled, half with excitement, half with malice and there was another, unreadable emotion within them as well. “So!” She began rather cheerfully, all of her attention on the three lieutenants before her. “We have Huntite, Violane and…that girl. How wonderful. Well.” Her eyes raked over Violane and Stibnite a rather nasty grin spreading across her face. “Huntite, have you had the pleasure yet of seeing a starseed? Or better yet, pulling one?”
She wasn’t bothering to look at the tall lieutenant, eyes locked on the two females before her. “I just want all of you to know, that Special Operations requires a sense of loyalty to your tasks. A loyalty that takes priority the loyalty that you have to your comrades, or even your friends. Say that you, Huntite found out that Violane here was thinking about defecting from the Negaverse to go pledge her aid to the ninnies on the side of order? What do you think would have to be done?”
Hessonite did not bother giving the lieutenant a chance to answer, before her hand went swiftly into Violane’s chest, producing her starseed in a matter of seconds. “Well, that’s right! She would have to be dealt with. And she was your best friend too, but it was your task. Your objective, and you met it. Now, am I saying that you in Special Operations will have to murder your fellow agents? Absolutely not. In fact, if I find that you are doing such a thing, I will crush your starseed with my own hand, but I’m saying that this is the reality. This is what may be asked of you one day.”
Her red eyes turned finally to the lieutenant. “Show me you can do it. Pull little no name’s starseed there. Show me you can follow orders, Huntite.” For a moment, Hessonite’s eyes moved from the lieutenant, going to scan the crowd, holding a look that almost dared anyone to question this. Dared them to test her.
She still held Violane’s starseed carefully in her hand, and turned back to Huntite, to see just what he, and Stibnite did in this situation. If they could both follow orders, well. Perhaps then they were both successful hopefuls for this branch.

Those eyes. Violane couldn't help but feel apprehensive as the General Queen raked those eyes over them. The tone of her voice wasn't matching what her eyes were dictating, but it wasn't like Violane could..would back down. She made it a point to stand her ground against things when there was no other way out and right now, there was absolutely no other way out. Not here, anyway.
A starseed? This was something she was interested in. Cinnabar had mentioned them but Violane was too new to have experienced seeing a starseed herself. Curious though how Hessonite only seemed to be speaking to Huntite directly now. White brows furrowed.
She listened to what was being said and, in a way, agreed. Sometimes the cause over took anything else. Including friendship. Then again, Violane had never really had any true friends so this little speech was a bit easier to swallow for the Lieutenant. In fact, she was mid nodding her head in agreement when she felt the sharp stab of pain in her chest and everything went black as she slumped to the ground.

Cinnabar watched, expectant, as the general queen addressed the three she had called forward. She watched as the grin spread and the question was asked, a sudden creeping sense of apprehension stiffening her form.
Whatever she had been expecting, watching the General Queen's hand disappear into her lieutenant's chest was not quite it. A civilian, maybe, something small and soft that would test their resolve, but one of their own?
The half-youma general's reaction was visceral and she felt a snarl rip from her throat, the sound inhuman. She had taken a step forward with a rattle of chain before she restrained herself, forcing her lips down over bared teeth and her reactive anger off her face to something smooth and hard instead.
This was a General Queen. She would not do any lasting damage to Violane, when the new recruit had done nothing to earn it. This was part of the lesson she was trying to teach them all... loyalty to the General Queen and the Negaverse, over her loyalty to the woman she had brought into this. A hard lesson, but Cin had been here long enough to know what was expected of her, and follow through.
So, despite her instinct that pushed her to teleport across the small space and interpose herself between the General Queen and her subordinate... she didn't. She instead remained standing at the front of the crowd, her eyes trained on the softly glowing starseed in the sovereign's small hand. She had no attention to spare for the other recruits, who were not her responsibility.
I will have to take time now to reinforce the trust that was sacrificed for this lesson... my team needs to be able to trust their team mates, if we're to work together. Nothing to be done about them trusting the General Sovereign though, but I guess that isn't my problem.
