Lt. Raspite

Raspite had had the full intention of introducing and explaining more about himself to the superior officer, but when the time came, there were others. So many others that had spoken out that he had fallen into silence, simply listening to them and surrendering to the background as an observer.

He was not a dominant personality to say the very least, and that, among other things, was what had brought him to this meeting. He was more the type to watch, learn, and to take notes. It was what had gotten him in good with General Leucite, and if nothing else, the information he would gather through this branch would be useful to his mentor in many ways.

He watched as the man pulled out what looked like a pen. He cocking his head to the side as the other clicked and fondled it now and then and showed off the possibilities of this new device. Well now, that was certainly something he could get his head around. a pocket computer that also worked as a gps. Yes, yes this was getting interesting.

Sarabauite dipped her head at the General-King, satisfied with the answer given. It certainly clarified some of the confusion she had regarding the matter. She cast her eyes down to the papers in hand now, shuffling through them to ease the erratic palpitations of her heart. Speaking up sucked.

When Axinite began the explanation of the new communicators, her attention was drawn to them again, and she was fascinated. Her eyes glinted behind her red frames as the pen's technologically-advanced functions were explained with ease. Such applications were incredibly useful. They would definitely have their importance against the terrorists, err, invaders of the planet.

Satisfied with what she heard, Sarabauite exited the meeting to weigh her duties and thoughts on the Information branch.

Lieutenant Reinerite

She hadn't been the only one interested in whether there was a list of Information Generals it seemed as another voice had spoken up to second her query.

A glance had revealed the speaker to be the white-haired woman who - like her had been recruited by the same General - and who had earlier given her name as
Sarabauite.

The same glance had her spotting Bloodstone standing by the back and she gave him a small nod which he may or may not have noticed before returning her gaze forwards back to Axinite...

Who was answering her question.

Reinerite listened in silence, waiting until Axinite had finished speaking before giving the General King a polite nod of her head
"Thank you for the clarification sir."

She listened in quiet fascination as Axinite moved on to outline changes being made to the communicator, because the 'pen' device did look like it was going to be a very useful tool.

Although it kind of made her think of James Bond a little and more specifically of Q.

She tilted her head thoughtfully as Axinite asked about whether any of them had any suggestions, a slight frown on her face as she thought it over for a few moments, making sure to skim briefly through the pack this round before asking
"Do you know whether it would be possible to embed some sort of camera to the device sir?" Adding "So that perhaps if the opportunity arises we can take photos of the enemy - take photos of the Senshi and Knights for the database."

Reinerite fell quiet. Because for all she knew there was already some sort of facility for this to take place - after all she hadn't yet seen the database and besides a Captain who had spoke up prior to her - (
Jet) had already been pretty through - although the other's morbidness had her wondering just what manner of people they were dealing with.

It didn't stop her from mentioning her query anyway however because clichéd as the saying was, a picture really was worth a thousand words.

Axinite directed his attention to Jet and listened intently before nodding. "Yes, absolutely. We're planning as many protective resources as we can. To access information you'll still need to log in, and you'll be required to provide a password once every fifteen minutes—if you're accessing the device for an extended period of time. Voice recognition is a valid suggestion, though with technology this day we were also concerned with recording devices or manipulation. We did avoid iris scans for a similar reason, though—for the missing fingers? …Fingers, hands. Those can be replaced. Eyes are a little more difficult. But, good suggestions, I'll take that feedback. We can probably rig the device to go into a sleep mode that would allow a few basic functions—distress signal included."

He offered the man a quick smile to both Jet and Reinerite. "There will be a camera and voice recording software installed. You'll be able to plug the devices into the computers and upload recordings to relevant files." Axinite's attention them moved to Bloodstone and he nodded appreciatively. "That is excellent information to provide, Lieutenant Bloodstone. Than you for sharing. It is my hope to be in contact with medical professionals like yourself in the near future. Which, leads us into the next segment—Goals."

Axinite allowed a moment for people to turn their pages or scan the papers in front of them before he continued, "One of the first things I noticed is that this branch doesn't have clearly defined goals. I'd like to cover a few of them, that we'll be sticking with for foreseeable future. Information, as you may or may not know, is the cornerstone of success. All branches of the Negaverse rely on having up to date information. It is imperative that this branch does everything in its power to make sure that all of our agents have as much information as possible—and let it be known, this will save lives. Or goals should be, first and foremost, know the enemy we are dealing with. Know who they are, what they are capable of, where they travel, what they say, what they plan to do. Our goal is to know the enemy—and to learn from them. Do what you must to find what you can—to convince them to lay down their arms and join us—but never forget that all Knights are our enemy, and any Senshi not dressed in black is a ticking time bomb. And if we don't stop them now, we risk losing this Earth."

His hands had turned to fists at his side, but he remained poised and his voice calm.

"They are powerful enemies, and there are a lot of them here. I have never seen so many in one place. But that means more tricks, more schemes, more strikes against us. The recent Invasion? …I'd like to know how they got in here, wouldn't you? —And how we can stop that, or anything like it, from ever happening again. I don't suppose anyone's heard anything about that? Have any of you made any progress there?"

he'd been silent, after having introduced himself, as he'd focused on listening to other people speak and give ideas. He'd listened to the General King as well. but when the man started talking about the invasion, asking for information, he stood slowly and bowed his head low, ashen hair curtaining his face and hiding it. "I was tasked long ago by our Queen with a task, in secret. I was to make friends on the other side in order to gain information from them, to learn, to find out about attacks before hand if possible - anything at all that they would be willing to tell me...or let slip because they thought I was a friend - an ally." He explained, wanting to first let the General King know what he'd been doing, and why, that there had been an attempt to gather information in a deeper way from the other side.

"Many were unwilling to....build bridges with me, I can understand why - they were smart. Not that it pleased me however I did make a few, some weaker than others." He had tried to build more, had wanted to...especially when he'd found himself slipping and sympathizing with them. But those days, those nights, were long gone...burned and the ashes left to drift on the winds - forever scattered. It was not something he wouldn't discuss or think on, it was pointless.

"I was not told of the invasion...nor of the kidnapping several of our officers suffered. One of my connections, the partner to Princess Ganymede, told me nothing however he claims, and acts, more neutral than most do. I heard during the invasion that his starseed is cracked - he said it. He cannot use his magic...a knight with no magic...a knight who would rather talk than fight." He was an easy target if they could get him when he wasn't around that Princess. Taking him on his own may work - who knows.

"I had planned to talk with our Queen about bringing my mission to an end, as it seems the bridges I have built were not as stable as I thought. Seeing as I was not told of the kidnapping nor the invasion. But I could, if you wish, see if I cannot shake some information free...perhaps not the knight but the Princess Polaris? Or someone else I can talk to." He offered finally lifting his head, slate eyes locking onto the copper haired man. he had heard the others words, the warnings, it was a dangerous game he played and he had almost fallen. It was his loyalty to the Negaverse, to it's members, which would have held him back from changing sides no matter what...but what else might he have done instead? No, he was not going to falter again - he was stronger now. He had seen what they would do - what they could do.

He waited for the General King's reaction, for his orders, he would do as told even if it meant going back to the other side to try and find out whatever information he could. If it would help them he would do it...anything to prevent another invasion from happening. Anything to keep more officers from being hurt or killed.

Axinite's attention was on Benitoite; he nodded, out of courtesy, but he was keenly aware of the task Benitoite had been assigned so long ago. "Do what you can," he said of the General. "But be prepared to strike if need be."

He addressed the group once more: "If any of you can uncover information, we need to know it. I will be most grateful to have answers to some of these questions. I know many of you have your own methods for collecting information, but for those of you that are new or still settling in, I have a few pieces of advice. To acquire information, you have two options. Either find a willing member to talk, or find ways to make an unwilling member talk. We will leave the most difficult enemies to Special Operatives. In the general scheme of things, it stands true that you will catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Do not worry about being seen as weak—stay loyal to the Negaverse and know that you are doing what you can for a greater purpose. Talking with the enemies can sway their opinions of the Negaverse, or yield access to well-guarded secrets. This involves interaction with them on a civil level, and battle is engaged only when necessary. You must work tirelessly to conceal your true motivations, but must strive not to become too sympathetic to them."

He glanced at the clock on the wall and drew in a breath, picking up the pace a bit; they had not been in the meeting for too terribly long, but he anticipated many of them would want to meet with Hessonite as well.

"Kindness is not always the answer, of course. Sometimes the best way to collect information is by engaging in battle to determine the lethality of our opponents. To learn what powers they possess, what manner in which they fight, and what we can generally expect of them. Knowing who we are fighting is as important as knowing what secrets they might try to hide from us. It simply depends on what you are good at, or what role you are willing to play. Do not forget that you can scout for civilians that could benefit our Organization as well. Civilians also have their own set of experiences and information, so do not be afraid to pry. We've got quite a need for gathering energy now that the storage has been depleted, so take advantage of civilians while they are tired and disoriented. But there are some resources in the packet—and you should always look to your Generals for advice. They've been doing this for a while, I am confident that they know what they're doing."

He chanced a smile directed towards the Generals, and a shorter one for the Captains in the room.

"While I fully intend to stay for further discussion if anyone is interested, I understand that Hessonite's meeting will be starting soon. We have a few moments for questions and suggestions, but I won't hold it against you if you want to get an early start to the Special Operatives Meeting." He gestured to the door, but leaned back against the desk set up at the front of the room.

"However, before then I'd like for everyone to please turn to the last page?"

In every packet, there was a single unattached sheet of paper with a preprinted form; it had several lines:

Quote:
Name, Rank, Current Branch: (What is your character's name, rank, and which branch are they currently in)
Observed Weaknesses: (What weaknesses has your character observed in the faction, in the past or present? What are things they think could use improvement, either in the Information Branch or the Negaverse?)
Proposed Improvements: (Does your character have any ideas they want to propose to improve weaknesses or generally improve the Negaverse in some way?)
Requests: (Does your character have any requests not necessarily related to improvements of observed weaknesses? Things they'd like to see, either powered or unpowered?)

"If you would be so kind, I would greatly appreciate if you could fill out those forms and deliver them to my office. You can write as much or as little as you like. If, for some reason, you are more inclined to secrecy, you do not need to fill out your information. I care more about results, and I would appreciate the contact information if anyone is interested in follow up discussion on the subject. Otherwise—you are free to go, but if you have things you'd like to go over now, the floor is yours. Thank you all for your patience and I look forward to serving with you."

Quote:
Your character is free to leave at any time! Axinite has offered a voluntary form for interested agents to fill out! If you did not post your character in the meeting and are interested in filing out the form, you can handwave their presence or that they acquired an extra form from someone else. If you choose to fill out the form and post it, as long as it meets 500 words it can be counted as a solo! Please quote the mule when you post it!

If your character would like to stay and continue conversation, Axinite is available for discussion or, if you want a private meeting to take place at a later date, please PM the mule!

Arsenopyrite had been quite interested in the new pens that they were in the works of developing. He hadn’t used his communicator at all yet and so felt no attachment but the pen would definitely be a better option. It would be a lot easier to use at least.

He looked at Benitoite with interest. He hadn’t heard about any invasions, though perhaps he hadn’t been there at the time to notice something had happened. He would have to ask the general later. For now though, he would fill out the form. He probably wouldn’t join this branch, if it was the branch he would join, until he was captain though. It seemed quite limited for mere lieutenants.

He did agree though that perhaps the negaverse here was a bit… confused as to what it was doing. Sure, he hadn’t been here long, but at this point he didn’t even know what he was doing, just the basics. Fight senshi and knights because they are the bad guys, the end. There was nothing concrete it seemed within the city’s negaverse branch, but that may have just been him. There were probably other lieutenants that knew what was going on better than he did.

He looked at the last page and luckily found a pen that was within the desk, probably put there by the General-King for all of them. He would try to fill out the form as best he could, though his experience probably wasn’t even close to everyone else’s considering he was so new, but he would put down what he had observed.

Name, Rank, Current Branch: Arsenopyrite, Lieutenant, General Operations
Observed Weaknesses: Hard for new lieutenants to really get the training they need unless they have the right general willing to do so.
Negaverse is pretty scattered about, no real goal other than collecting energy it would seem for lieutenants.
Hard to get to know other members.
Proposed Improvements: Various scheduled training times with other members to get the right training if needed.
More clear cut goals or jobs for agents, more than just collecting energy randomly at least to meet a quota.
Some named/known place for members to meet and talk a bit more freely, or ways to get to know other members better.
Requests: None that I can think of right now, still a bit new to all of this.

He looked at the list, hoping he hadn’t done too badly on it. He would definitely have to try and get to know other agents better and the Information Branch might just be the place to do it.

Lt. Carminite

Being so new it was hard to take in as much information as what was being given out, which was why Carminite was extremely grateful for the packet that the sovereign had provided for them. He processed what he could about everything that had been said, particularly about the fancy technology that had been briefly displayed and explained--he was interested in getting his hands on the piece of tech, even if he wasn't the most tech-savvy guy; it just seemed really, really cool. Whatever questions had come to him others had thought of and asked first, so he simply tried his best to retain the answers that they were given and kept his eyes primarily in the packet, and before he knew it the meeting was being drawn to a close. As requested, he flipped to the back of the packet and scanned the single sheet of paper that they were being asked to fill out. Seeing as there was still a few minutes before the start of the next meeting, he pulled out a pen and started filling it out.

Quote:
Name, Rank, Current Branch: Carminite, Lieutenant, General Operations
Observed Weaknesses: I was recruited just yesterday, so unfortunately I haven't had the chance to observe any weaknesses in the Negaverse.
Proposed Improvements: Again, I'm an extremely fresh recruit. I'll definitely be jotting down notes as I go along, though, in case we're given the chance to give our thoughts or ideas or proposals and such for improvement again in the future.
Requests: The circumstances of my recruitment were less than savory. I can explain further if anyone is curious, but I'd like to know if there is some kind of a code that we're expected to follow with regard to how we handle gathering energy and starseeds. If so, what might the punishments be for breaking that code? If not, is there any chance such a code could be put into place? I was lucky enough to be able to get justice for what happened to me very soon after my recruitment, but if that wasn't the case I'm curious if there's some kind of a disciplinary committee that would be able to address the agent that put me in that situation, and if what he did counts as an action that would require such a committee's attention?

Carminite read over his responses and gave a satisfactory nod before standing up with his plate, bottle, and folder in tow--he wasn't the sort to leave his trash for someone else to pick up. "On to the next one," he said on a sigh before he straightened himself out and looked toward the General King. The meeting had been more than just a little informative, and despite the obvious difference in their power General King Axinite seemed the rather approachable sort, which would be great for new recruits. Especially new recruits like him; he normally didn't have any questions on the day of an important meeting, but he always managed come up with a long list after a day or two of sitting on the information. He him a gave a respectful albeit only slight bow of his head before he turned and headed for the door, making sure to toss his trash and careful not to toss his folder along with it before he making his way to the next meeting.

Idiots. Quartz was, as usual, surrounded by a room full of apparent idiots, more interested in their newest toy and what apps and bells and whistles they could get added to it than in the prospect of the actual work they were expected to do on their own.

All-One, one of its tiny bodies perched along the shell of Quartz's ear, seemed as dissatisfied with the audence of this meeting as Quartz felt.

"They want to -- replace us," it whispered low into his ear, a mish-mash of recorded voices strung into language. "With -- shiny -- baubles. But we -- cannot -- be replaced."

"I have no intention of replacing you," Quartz answered quietly, offhand, already flipping to the end of the packet of paper to look over the questionnaire that Axinite had handed out. "But I'll use whatever resources I'm given."

He saw no gain in piping up in a crowd with his thoughts -- any suggestions he might have were best addressed in private. Besides, he wanted to attend the Special Operations meeting with All-One, to see whether it was more fruitful than this one. Better to get a move on.

When the meeting was adjourned, Quartz took his paperwork and stopped only briefly at the front of the room.

"Thank you for your time, General-King," he said with a deferential nod of his head. "I'd appreciate a private meeting with you at your convenience. I'm sure you're still settling in."

The young lieutenant listened to the orders as they were given, his eyes glancing down at the packet before him. It was certainly large enough. Though as he was directed to turn to one of the many pages, he did so, glancing over it and shaking his head. If nothing else it was a plus that this General King was willing to listen to them. Or at least take their views into account. It was an admirable trait in the man, and Raspite could respect that.

He carefully lifted his pen in his hand, placing the tip to the paper before him. He was more than a bit nervous about expressing his opinion without more connections that he had, but it was something that needed to be done. There was no way that others like him could find their place in the Negaverse if some of the things he had noticed did not change. It was his job to bring them to light.

Quote:
Name, Rank, Current Branch: Raspite, Lieutenant, General Operations
Observed Weaknesses: Though I have not been within the ranks of the Negaverse for very long, one of the main things that i have noticed is there is a lack of guidance for those that are new to the fold. New Agents come into this world with confusion and doubts, and while there is a set system to how things work, it is not the reassurance and guidance that many of the new recruits need in order to find their place within this society. This fact alone could lead to many purifications and questions of loyalty with new members.
Proposed Improvements: More attention paid to those new recruits that come into the Negaverse. Giving them guidance and calming the fears that come with awakening into this world. An explanation of the goals of the Negaverse and an assignment of a new recruits job within the organization could make hose that feel like lesser beings feel more at home in the world and less segregated.
Requests: I humbly request that I be considered as an applicant for joining the information branch. I am fast, unassuming and, so I have been told, am easy to talk to. It will be of value in getting to know those both in and out of the Negaverse and be able to find those that could serve our purposes well.

He took a few moments to glance over his words. Were there enough? Was it too much? Perhaps he was overstepping his boundaries as a new recruit, but he knew it needed to be done. After all, the General King had asked for ideas, and if nothing else he knew from experience that the awakening process was flawed at best.

He double checked his spelling, glancing for errors before placing the pen down upon the table top one more. This meeting, though brief, had been and enlightening one. If only for the idea of getting new tech and for getting a better grasp of what sort of information his superiors were looking for. Surely it was not so very hard to gather intel on others. Watching people was an everyday even that most did without knowing it. And he, being a being of the streets, was so very use to being passed over without a second glance. Not that this had not served both him, and his pockets well at times.

Lt. Raspite

He finished his inspection and rose from his seat. He walking to the front to return the paper before turning on one heel. He smiled and gave the General King a respectful bow before heading toward the door. “I can only thank you for this interesting meeting, General King. I do hope you will consider my application to the branch.”

With his final words he cleared the room. Retreating once more to the dark hallways the his new world now offered him. He could only hope that his words would bring about some change, though the doubt in him made he question if anyone here would really listen. Anyone, that is, except for those he counted as family.

He closed his eyes and shook his head. "It is a time for a stiff drink. Maybe Mathias and Imara are ready to try their hands at drunken poker." He chuckled, wondering that the pair for say, just because he knew that it would get Imara riled.

Lieutenant Reinerite

Reinerite had dutifully turned to the last page in the packet - which had turned out to be an unattached sheet of paper - and her grey eyes had skimmed through the form as she continued to listen to Axinite speak.

And whilst he had given the option for people to leave early in order to make the Special Operations meeting if they so chose, Reinerite opted to remain, curious to see if anything else would be raised now that the floor seemed to be open for questions.

She would stay for a while, partly working on the form as she did so, even as the blond Lieutenant by her got up to leave.

But with no further questions seeming to be forthcoming, Reinerite eventually stood, picking up the file and the partly completed form to be completed when she got home.

"Thank you for your time General King and for the meeting" she said quietly, before slipping out to see if she could find a ride back to Destiny City.
