"I hope you're hungry, Chris," Jeremiah told him, "as there's going to be enough for you as well to stay for dinner." A glance towards Algie told him that it would be alright. It was not like they had people over often for meals anymore. Sometimes it was nice to have others over, especially if they were easy to get along with. Or rather seemed like they got along easily with two older irritable Brits. "If you need a guide there, I can take you," another glance to Algie with a smile, "or we can. I've something of a knack now for finding my way there and back." His focus went back to the stove and cooking. "As there are other things there that you need to be watching out for."

"Yes obviously you're welcome to stay," Alg agreed, "Have you had Jeremiah's cooking yet?" A glance was given to Jeremiah's back, then to Chris and he winked as he teased pointedly loud for effect, "He only burns things sometimes."

He considered it for a moment, then nodded. "I'll ask, if I need to go. I don't know how to find ways in, not frequently anyways and it's kind of weird looking. What other things though?"
"Are you sure? I don't want to intrude," Chris said quietly, "It does smell delicious."
He couldn't help but laugh, "Oh only sometimes? Well how can I say no to an offer like that."

"Alg, that was twenty years ago. At some point, you're going to have to let it go." Jeremiah rolled his eyes, finding a piece of vegetable to flick at the man. There was a smile on his face, just barely visible from the side, but it was there all the same. "It's curry and it won't be too spicy," he said over his shoulder, going back to focus on the cooking, "and you're not intruding." Going to ignore all the commentary about him and burning food going on out, thanks. "I can actually see them, the places where you can get in." Which had been a surprise when it had happened, coming home from seeing Heliodora. It had been before that as well, but he had forgotten until he remembered. "Also as there are other forces in play over there, having others with you is better. At least until ..." There was a wry look on his face, Jeremiah stirring the food in the skillet. "Well, until you get a handle on magic. Defense is the best offense and all." It was something Algie and himself, when they caught a break, were going to have to get more serious about as well.

Alg was hit in the face with a chunk of something but he just popped it in his mouth as if that were his plan all along. As Jeremiah disputed the twenty year old burnt food, Alg was mouthing silently behind his back, 'It was so bad. Horrible. But SO FUNNY.'"Knowledge is power." Algie shot back, against the 'offense' comment. But this is also the man who learned to box to stop himself from getting teased. "But we should be more prepared I agree. Unfortunately Chris, I'm also not able to find my way in.. Still just magic hands." He half-heartedly jazz-hands motioned. "We'll just have to use Jeremiah."

Chris laughed at the antics going on, just winking at Algie in reply. "I don't think anything is too spicy for me at this point." He had grown up on pretty spicy food, although there was a chance he would be surprised.
"That's really useful," Chris said softly, "But I guess I can accept, keeping company with you two until I know how to defend myself." There was a teasing lilt on the end of his voice, letting them know he was playing.
"Are we using him? I feel like we'd get more out of Jer if we were just using him."

"In this case knowledge is the best offense." Jeremiah replied with an arch of an eyebrow and another flick of a vegetable at Algie. "As it's the only way we'll know how to handle ourselves over there." Thankfully no one could really see the look on his face at Algie doing that half-hearted jazz hand motion about magic hands. Magic hands indeed. Then he was giving them both looks about the 'using Jer' commentary. "Let's be honest, you get nothing out of using me. In fact, at this point, the both of you are going to be lucky if I even let you have any of this curry." The glint to his eyes, the set to his mouth, definitely gave him away that he was going along with this and was a far change from catching him at work. iloveyouDIE okay let's find a FTB on them having dinner?

"He can't not feed us.." Alg huffed softly, "It goes against everything he stands for." Alg pushed away from his tea and stood, fixing his sweater a moment and eating the lastest bit of thrown food. "Beside's he's very susceptible to puppy dog eyes and sob stories." His teacup was picked up and moved to the sink, going to Jeremiah's side to give him a smirk a moment, and then he was going into the cabinets. "Chris- help me set the table? I'm not talking any more about bloody magic realms until I eat."

"You invited me in for dinner to just leave me out? That's so mean Jer," Chris joked, but he followed Algie up and took his own teacup to the sink.
He stopped for a moment to peek at what was being cooked, but still went with Algie to the cabinets.
"Gladly, it's the least I could do." He agreed, reaching in to get dishes and help out.
