“Nose was like mine was...wasn’t good. Wanted double eyelids….those many don’t have - have to make them.” He said while closing one of his own eyes and pointing to his eye lid. “No crease...single eye lid - see.” He had never considered it, even when it was mentioned to him several times. He was fine with single eyelids like he had. His sister however wanted the larger eyed look it would give her. “Jaw wasn’t right to her.” Shrugging his shoulders a bit. He knew what she wanted, knew what most went for. You could see it all over the place and considering he’d had his own nose done he was no stranger to the same wants, to a lesser extent at least.
“Can be dangerous for anyone. Have been a few accidents in the past, happens with surgery. But it makes people look better - pretty.” And he understood why his sister had done it, understood why others did it.

“I see. But why would people want to change their eyelids? Noses and jaws I can understand though.” Even if he wouldn’t do it himself, he could understand why some people would want to change their nose since it happened often enough in the media, the jaw not so much but he had heard it happening. “But since it is dangerous for anyone, I’m surprised there isn’t an age limit.” Terry said then gave a small shrug. “Just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me to potentially endanger a child for cosmetic reasons if it isn’t disabling. Older teens I can understand but not younger.”

“Eyes become wider when you have a crease...or here.” He said indicating the outer and then the inner corners. “Can cut here also. Makes eyes wider and warmer look...more friendly and approachable….Better for job resume picture.” Since pictures had to be right on the front of them all. “Look western also.” He added after a moment.
Hoping to explain it best to the other he grabbed his own phone and pulled up the camera option and set it so he could see himself...and Terry on the screen when he moved close enough to the other.
“See...your eyes bigger...look nicer...expressive. Mine are smaller, mischievous some say...not as warm - cold maybe. Make people not want to approach as much, smile does not reach as much.” Oh so he’d heard from various people, including friends of his. Exiting the camera app on his phone he put it away and got comfortable again.

“Huh.” Terry blinked then gave a shrug and a small smile. His eyes darted to where the other indicated the creases or cuts would be though he still didn’t quite get why people would do this until Seung continued with his explanation. He then nodded at the elaboration and looked as Seung showed him through the phone what he meant. He could see how looking more western could help in some situations or with some people. “Well I like your eyes the way they are. They look friendly to me.” He said honestly with a bigger smile.

“To you...not home - not all anyway. Think maybe eighty percent born single eyelid in Korea.” His friends hadn’t like his single eyeslids, suggesting he get them done like they had.. His parents had offered it, along with his nose. He’d turned it down as he too liked his eyes just as they were. “Many born with similar features - flat...forehead.” Indicating his own, which he was blessed with not being flat. “And...too big.” The jaw. “Or square...too long.” It wasn’t small or petite. “Nose...big...flat...Not appealing for work.” He said explaining the more common surgeries and the reasons for them taking place.
“Can show you pictures...before and after of people.” Including his own if the other wanted. “Can see similar features…” And while those were the natural features they were born with they weren’t ones many likes - they seemed too big...bulbous even. Ohhh! He had an idea. “Can come over tonight….watch tv in my room.”
Giving a peck to the others cheek he smiled brightly. “Like my eyes also...thank you.”

“I see.” He said as he listened to the other explain. With the descriptions Seung was giving he could see why cosmetic surgery was so popular even if it was potentially dangerous. When it came to work it wasn’t a surprise that people would try to change themselves in order to be picked after all. “Sure, that might help me understand a bit better why it’s done.” He wasn’t sure how watching tv would help him understand but he was curious and he wouldn’t turn down time to spend with the other anyway. “You’re welcome.” He smiled then kissed Seung’s cheek back.

“Only problem...for me. Is too many want to look same. Point to same idol, actor, actress and want to have their nose, their eyes, their jaw. Too many people too too alike now. Did the same with my nose but did not pick someone everyone else does cause would not have looked good with eyes.” He wanted to make it work and look natural, like he’d been born with that nose. Some people it was very obvious they’d had something done whereas others, like himself, it was harder to tell. It had been a fair amount of work done but nothing that didn’t stand out and look off or odd. He had stressed to his doctor how much he wanted it to work with his features and look natural and work with his eyes and jaw and his other facial features. He had a friend, female, who had gotten her nose done and with the pick she had made...it was obvious to some that it had been done.
“Can do take out food, you pick, and can eat in my room and watch show.” He said hoping that also would show why some people went and got surgery done, what features were a strong genetically that some wanted to fix and didn’t like.

“But if everyone looked the same then no one would be different.” He said and shook his head. He could get wanting to look good for a job, but everyone looking the same thanks to picking the same celebrities to base their looks on would simply make it obvious that work was done. That or make people paranoid about government conspiracies if it was over here in America. “Some celebrities have features where it’s obvious they had word done too.”
Terry gave Seung a small amused smile. It seemed like he was always picking the places they would eat from, not that he could blame the other since more then likely he would be doing the same in Korea. “Sounds good to me. Any preference to what kind of food?”

“Same enough...but different enough to know they are not the same person...makes sense?” He asked. He would have to show him. So he did pull his phone out again and put a search engine he was used to, not google, to use and pulled up some pictures. Turning it for the other to see. “Same things wanted by many. V shape...here.” Pointing to his jaw. “Big eyes...small nose...pointed tip...not big or round.” So all wanting similar features and picking the same people often lead to some...well unless you changed the whole skull they wouldn’t all look like clones. But they all had the same sort of features just put onto their skull. It meant some looked very similar, like family members even.
“Some new, haven’t tried before? Maybe something warm.” He added as an afterthought as it was a little nippy out today and the slight chill in the air made him want to have nice warm food when they went to do take out. “Can spend time between now and dinner at hair place? Need redo hair color.” As his roots were indeed showing and he wanted to redo them. He could always have his hair dyed black, it’s natural color, but he liked his unique coloring and style. One day he might go with his natural color - not yet though.

Terry nodded and leaned over to see the pictures Seung was showing him. “Oh I see what you mean. Similar overall but still different to not look like twins or clones.” He said as he studied the pictures. It made sense to him now that he could see them. “Something warm? I have an idea then.” He could introduce Seung to Chick-Fill-A and the chicken noodle soup they had there. It would be nice and warm while still being easy to have as take out. He gave a smile and ruffled Seung’s hair like the other tended to do to him. “Sure we can head over there.”

“Yes, like that.” He said nodding his head as the other looked over the pictures provided by the search engine. As he closed out of the internet on his phone he pocketed it and finishing his food he quickly, and gently, pressed a kiss to the others cheek. “Is still chilly, warm food for dinner would be nice.” Even if he had just had a stew of sorts to warm himself up. Something else for dinner would be nice as well.
“Don’t do delivery, so will have to pick up before going home to eat in my room.” He had learned fast food places, McDonalds, and others didn’t do delivery here - how odd. Motioning for the bill, to the waitress when she looked over, and when she came with it he paid for them both and slipped out from his seat and stretched, taking his notebook filled bag with him as well as his other shopping bags. He again, as was still a habit of his, left no tip as he stood and offered Terry a hand.

“Can do.” He said with a nod and another smile. “The place I have in mind isn’t very out of the way so that works.” It was only a few streets over then the route they would be taking so it’s wouldn’t be hard to stop by and pick up food for them on the way back to Seung’s house. He finished up the last of his food and tea then stood up with the other. He left behind a small tip for the waitress, a habit he had formed of his own when he picked up the other’s habit. Terry then took Seung’s hand and followed him out.
