"Ah, alright.... I believe the Cucumber sandwiches are made with sour cream.. or Greek yogurt.. So..." In a quick movement, he began to move things around, placing his roast beef sandwich on Arian's plate and taking the chicken salad one. "Perfect!"
He couldn't place what it was exactly, but seeing the tinge creeping onto Arian's cheeks made his chest feel tight in a wonderful way. It was far too soon to make any sort of statement about it, but when he smiled, when his face took on the most soft of color, kissing the skin with a dainty rosy color, something about it just felt special. He wanted more of that.
"Well, if you'd like, we can look up some of the future shows right now, see if there are any that are appealing and then talk about them later, if you still feel like going. There's a production of The Wizard of Oz soon, and there's also one about the Rime Witch that's really facinating. I think you'd like seeing the costumes and the artistry of it. Maybe it could even inspire a piece or two for your shop." He paused for a moment, thinking further into what he wished to say next. It was no fun carrying on a a conversation all his own, and he certainly was one who could talk for days if allowed to.
"I do hope you're having a good time with me, Arian. I am certainly enjoying your company."

It was perhaps just as well that Arian wasn't a mind reader, as the direction of Anxo's thoughts would have probably had him flushing harder if that was at all possible... And his face was already doing its level best to resemble a tomato. Instead he continued to munch on the roast beef sandwich in between sips of his tea. "This has been a lot more enjoyable than I was expecting" he admitted, although Arian was honest enough to know that it was mostly down to Anxo's efforts rather than his own. He continued "And the Wizard of Oz is a classic, although I have to confess that I've never heard of the Rime Witch." Kapoodles *drops a very belated tag*

What sort of god was there to be so kind to have blessed Anxo with the most lovely of dates? Truly, he could get used to Arian's company. As slightly apprehensive he had originally come off as, Arian had gradually warmed up to him. It was all that Anxo could ask, and he loved every moment of it.
"I am certainly glad that I have not proven to be a disappointment to you, Arian. From the moment I saw you, I was certain this night would be a wonderful one. Just had one of those feelings about it, that maybe, just maybe, I was meant to meet you tonight. It's a little silly though, thinking of fate being so kind... Hehe, let me know if I'm talking too much, please. I'm sure you've already noticed I do that..."
How awful it would have been if Arian decided he didn't like Anxo anymore due to his ramblings and overly-sweet words! Luckily, the young man was smart enough when to reel it in, even if just a little bit.
"It's one of those stories where it's beginning is the same as it's end. A young woman in red travels through the snow to try to find summer. It gives a sad interpretation of the thought that 'no matter how much we fight, we'll end up where we started and make the same mistakes'. Not the most uplifting of stories, for sure, but working on it was thrilling! We had to have wires to lift up the actors, and silks for them to dance across... It truly was magical."

It was again perhaps as well that reading minds was not a skill that Arian could lay claim to, because if he had known the cast of Anxo's thoughts then he would have probably been bemused. Or flustered.. Or perhaps a mix of the two emotions. Instead he finished up on the roast beef sandwich and reached for the cucumber one as he listened to Anxo talk about the plot of the Rime Witch. "I'm not sure I'd like being doomed to make the same mistakes" he admitted. "Although the dancing across silks aspect does sound interesting." And whilst Arian's cheeks did pink again at Anxo's compliments, he did also manage a small smile. "Well I don't know about fate, but I'm probably not one to talk about talking" his quiet voice turned rueful "I know that I'm not really the most vocal of people." In fact he downright tended towards the quiet side.

"It is. Can you imagine how much core strength the actors have? And they weren't even professional Acrobats! They only did it for the role. That's certainly some dedication!" As much as he held the actors in high esteem, of course there were the ones who were the primadonnas of lore. It wasn't a pleasant thought, perhaps a story for next time.
"Even if you don't really find yourself talking too much, you're a wonderful listener. And you do seem genuinely interested, so that makes me feel a bit more confident about my own chatter. I won't lie, though, I WOULD love to hear you speak more about your self, about your thoughts, but I'm sure we will have plenty of time to get to know eachother in the future."
The snack trays came and went, as did their tea and sandwiches, and soon the tower of sweets came before them, to Anxo's delight!
"I'd like to offer you the first choice of sweets, if you would accept!"

"That is a lot of dedication" Arian agreed. "It amazing how much work that some actors will put into their role just to make sure that they spin a good story." It would probably have been hard to miss the way that his eyes lit up when the server brought the tower of sweets in, or the way that his hand reached for a nearby cupcake before Arian seemed to realise what he was doing, his cheeks flushing slightly. "Ah sorry," he said, lips quirking up into a rueful smile, as he tried - albeit not very well - to be more restrained. "They just look good - really good." Arian's smile turned more genuine "And thank you - I'd love to pick." He reached out to pick up a vanilla cupcake decorated with sprinkles and a coloured swirl of icing atop of white frosting "I think I'll go with this one." Kapoodles I had this mostly written out so figured I'd post it before bed :3 *toodles off*

"Don't apologize, Arian. It was really cute to see you do that! It means that my choice to bring you here was a good one! Feel free to take as many as you like." While the other chose his cupcake, Anxo took a moment to top off their tea cups and then went to try his own without the ridiculous amount of sugar.
Once the tray was free, he picked his own, a rather delectable chocolate cupcake that he took his time eating, having already filled up with sandwiches earlier.
"I think you have excellent tastes! But tell me, besides sugar, what else do you like to eat? I would really love to go out with you for another dinner or lunch sometime."

It hadn't taken Arian long to finish eating the cupcake, because it had turned out to taste as delicious as it looked, and he reached for a second one - this time a caramel one. "I'm not sure I'd call it cute" he admitted quietly before an amused note crept into his quiet voice as his quirked up in another small smile "And you might regret telling me that - because that first cupcake was really, really good." For a moment Arian couldn't help but look a little startled at Anxo's next comment - because it seemed that perhaps he hadn't been overthinking things earlier. "I'm actually relatively easy about food" he admitted, because he had a cousin liked to 'experiment' with things when cooking and whilst some things had come out really good - there were others that could only be described as disasters. "I'm generally good as long as it doesn't have mayo or isn't canned tuna..." He thought about it for a moment before adding "Or isn't one of those so called savoury desserts." Because as far as Arian was concerned desserts were supposed to be sweet.

"You know, I tried my best to make sure to cater to your interest today, and I am certain I struck gold with this place. Hehe, and I mean it, take your fill, anything left over, we can take home." As he said that, he reached forward again and grabbed a lemon cupcake. Maybe he wasn't quite as full as he thought.
"Oh, yes, I wholeheartedly agree with that. Why get any meat in a can when it's not a time of desperation, I have no idea... I shudder to think about it! I am pretty good with most things as well, except for mushroom... Their texture just kinda... It's unpleasant." To see Arian look a bit startled just made Anxo smile all the more. It seemed like a smile was just destined to be plastered on his face for as long as he remained near the other man. Not that he minded of course. But at this point, maybe he really should be a bit more forward with his intentions.
"Would you wish to do that with me, Arian? To hang out with me some more beyond this meeting? I think we could be very good friends!"

Whilst Arian didn't answer straight away, it didn't mean that he wasn't considering the question. Because he was, his hand stilling on the cupcake that he'd been in the process of reaching for... "I'd like that" he said quietly with a small nod. And whilst Arian couldn't say, as Anxo seemed convinced, that they could be very good friends - he could say that he'd enjoyed the evening more than he'd really been expecting to. "Yes I'd like that" he repeated with a small smile and he meant it. Kapoodles hope this works as a fin tag from me, but lmk if not and I will edit

For a good moment, Anxo began to believe that the answer would be no. And to that, he didn't mind. He knew he could be a little bit much to meet and handle on the first 'date' but... He found himself really and truly liking Arian. A finger nervously poked at his own cupcake before him, dreading a rejection, but brimming with hope that the handsome man before him would say yes to them meeting again.
And he did.
"Really? Ah then I look forward to it!" Anxo's smile couldn't possibly have been any wider.
litian And that's a fin for me! Thank you!
