"Hey," said Lily, flashing Hunter a toothy smile. It seemed like she'd slipped away from her own booth - fair enough, considering there were two other supervisors there. She wasn't much of a fisher, but she really liked one-upping people. That meant she'd go for the deep end, smirking as she did so. There were totally more fish here, right? Oh - oh, yes, and this one was heavy, too. And angry, and lazy. "What do you think?" she asked Hunter, grinning. Unfortunately she only got one token for her troubles - some kin just didn't appreciate talent when they saw it. (Never mind that Lily wasn't really willing to part with more than one token when it came to prizes herself.)

"Good morning." Fish Bones says to the doe, smiling at her. "I'd like to try." he says, dunking his head into the pool of water. Eyes closed tight, he keeps still until he feels movement. In one quick movement he snaps up the eel, pulling it out of the water. Mostly, eels are slippery and almost as soon as it's out of the water it's right back in again, slipping from his grasp.
"I've never had eel before, know what they taste like?" he asks the doe as she passes him a token.

Distant Tidings slunk off, face burning, as quickly as he could from the Kissing Booth, to the pond next door. He just wanted to bury himself in the ground forever but also not because dirt, as he'd just been intimately acquainted with, tasted vile. Dunking his head into a pond seemed like the next best thing, in that light. Miserably, he plunged his muzzle in – and quickly became more miserable: dirt tasted vile, but frogbit was just weird, all odd and pokey in his mouth. And it was quite the mouthful he'd taken – it was everywhere!
He hurriedly pulled out of the pond before he could accidentally swallow, and spat out the many...many little leaves – that was just...! Oh hey. It wasn't just frogbit he'd taken a mouthful of: the littlest fish had just escaped his jaws, reclaiming its freedom with the plants. He looked up at the impressive doe rather hopefully...
Another token to join his stash, a little treasure to soothe his humiliation.

Back he came, all ready to catch another fish. He had a tiny streak of success and he was riding high, feeling like nothing in the world could stop him. So when he dunked his head completely under the water, sure he'd seen a fine fat fish to show off, and came up with a fine fat ... rock? The dripping mane and sagging ears only made his companion, Stonehoof, laugh even harder. "Come on, soggy," she teased. "You can try again tomorrow."

Quote: 6. You eagerly splash into the pond, knowing you’ll pull out the biggest and best fish. You swish your muzzle through the swirling mud and pull out something slimy. A catfish, you think- but when you get it above the water it’s a frog. It glares at you, then hops back to the booth next door. Fair Hunter shakes her head. No token. Tribute eagerly pranced back to the fishing booth he's visited yesterday, rather unsuccessfully. He was determined to do better today; at the very least, he could catch a minnow, right? He screwed up his face in determination and plunged in, searching around for a few moments. When he made contact with something under the surface, he eagerly seized it and pulled back. Surely he'd caught a good fish!! But no, it was only a frog. He dropped it into the mud with a plop and sighed, looking to the ridge-backed acha hopefully. But no dice, no token. With a dramatic sigh Tribute picked himself up and shook the excess water off his pelt, trotting away in defeat once more.

Licks pulls out a bass this turn and proudly holds it up between her teeth again before happily letting the little thing swim away. "Another fish!" She grins down at the bass swimming into the pool and then happily takes her little token with her along her way. This was one of her favorite places to play, and she concluded she'll have to do more fishing in the future even after the marketplace has long disbanded.

Quote: You reach into the pond and pull out a rock… a brightly colored rock. It’s a token! Someone must have dropped it. You keep it. Quailbeak peeked around the tree, seeing the fishing booth. This didn't seem too difficult! He stepped up and dug in to the pond. He whistled while he felt around but didn't feel much. Oh! There! He felt something and pulled it out. Awww, just a rock. He tilted it. Not a rock: a tocken!

Nod reached in and felt around blindly. He wasn't particularly talented in this department, but when he caught the goby, he figured he was good enough. The little fish felt funny flopping about; he put it back and took his token.

Breaks Bones reached into the pond, vaguely, knowing how to fish. Returning with a small greyling, he took his token and hopped on away, content he hadn't had to keep such a small catch. They'd hardly be a mouthful!

"I'm back," Lily bragged. She'd caught a gigantic fish yesterday! Surely she could hope for a repeat performance now, right? She went straight for the deep end again, but after feeling around a little - ick - uh - oh. Oh!
There definitely weren't any more big fish here, but maybe...
She stuck her head in, as dignified as she could managed, and nipped a little floppy fish out. Then she spat it out. "You saw that, right?"

Evolve was slightly piqued by having to catch and release. She wouldn't have minded a quick snack. But that was the aim of the game and so when she dunked her head into the water, she was careful to very quickly and very gently take hold of the fish as it bumped against her nose. A nice sized bluegill. It would have tasted really good with a quick sizzle on Rise&Shine's hot plate. But she released it, accepted a token instead and took off to find her next win.

Streams of Silver was no stranger to muddy pools– when she had to fish in them, she did. She was patient, waiting a while, and carefully stirring the water up to try to get an idea of where a fish may have been in the pool.
She passed over the first fish she found– far too small– and the second was faster than she cared to try. The third, though, had long, powerful-feeling fins, and she moved decisively, tearing it up and out of the water.
She walked away a token richer.

Quote: 14. You watch the water- you’re going to be smart about this, all strategic and clever. Sure enough, you see the tip of a dorsal fin break the surface. You snap after it, successfully snagging a small shad. Good job! You get a token. Fish? Did someone say fish? Strong Swimmer loved to go fishing. It was one of her favourite types of food to eat. The pond was small. But enough for her to test out her superb fishing skill while someone is watching her. Fishing with eyes closed was what she already knew what to do too. The setup was just a bit advantageous and was in her favour. To her, it was rather shallow. It was not deep compared to the lakes she swimmed in. Looking at this game, she didn't feel like she needed to close her eyes to dive into the waters. "Gently catch fish?" She wasn't sure if she can manage to do that. She was too used to biting on them with much violence... "Uhh I guess I can try to be gentle..." Honestly, she had no idea how she can not harm the kin's fish in this tiny pond... Strong Swimmer studied the little ripples and noticed occasional shimmers of fins surfacing and hiding back into the murky water. Leaning in closer, she made sure to move like clouds in the sky and hovered near the left side of the pond. When a fin popped up, she quickly snapped her teeth down on it, her eyes barely blinked as water splashed about when she stuck her head below water. Luckily, it was a fin. If it was the fish's body, she would have snapped the poor creature in half. The proud and happy totoma showed what she had just caught to the acha with a ginormous fin on her back and dropped the fish back into the dirty water. "This is fun," she told the kin running this specific booth. "I will come play again tomorrow."

You snap after it, successfully snagging a small shad. Good job! You get a token. After two consecutive failures, Tribute was determined to succeed this time. He stared intently at the surface of the pond, brows furrowed in deep concentration. He wouldn't walk away empty handed again! A flash of color and a ripple in the surface of the water made him jump, and he plunged his muzzle into the water in hopes of snatching up whatever it was. As he pulled back up, the acha saw what could only be a fish in his jaw. Hooray! He glanced over at the spiny booth manager gleefully, tossing the fish back into the pond before trotting over on swift hooves to collect his token. Success!

"I don't know why I keep returning to do this..." Butterfly Kiss admitted to no one in particular. Sighing, he shifted from leg to leg before approaching the muddy hole as if it would speak some ill omen to his future health. Swallowing, he plunged his muzzle into the pool and began to rub around. Where.... Where - AH?! Something brushed against his muzzle and he had the urge to rear away and flee, but fought it. It struggled, splashing water across his face with its long tail. Eventually, he brought it out and dropped it to the side, showing off the catch proudly, "HA! I did it. Did you see tht?" He smirked and then carefully put the fish back in the water.
