Kara looked down at her jar. She felt it was kind of silly, but she understood the application. She figured she could do this quite easily as she was a pretty good at managing her time. So as she filled in her jar she kept everything neat and was quite thrilled when she left herself a bit of room.

Eveilyn sat back just staring for a moment. Let go of stress? Really with exams and tests all over the school they actually wanted to have students try and relax? They might as well ask her to take a swimming class. It would feel like drowning all the same. She stared at her assignment and tried to figure out how to do it. Letting go of stress huh? She tried taking a few deep breaths but her mind was still all over the place. Trying to distract herself she started to doodle a bit on a piece of paper oddly enough she started to feel better. Breathing didn’t really help at all but just letting herself go and making random little images certainly did. She actually felt better when she left that class. Well at least until she remembered she had a test in her next class. All that serenity disappeared like the wind then.

Rose happily entered her Life Skills class, which was a completely new class to her. She hadn't heard anything like it in Above! She confidently took a seat near the front of the class, watching cheerily as the other Nightmares filed in to the back of the room. She loved the energy of the Chimera teacher, and was delighted about the easy exercise they were tasked with that day. It only took a moment for the solar fey to close her eyes, target her stressors, and clear them from her mind. She popped her morganite eyes and smiled, letting the teacher know she had let go of the things clouding her mind with ease, sharing an energetic high-five and returning to her seat.

21-40 means you barely have any free time, and have to spend your leisure time wisely. You pass, but just by the seat of your pants. Decran stared at the jar sitting in front of him for a moment before glancing over at the objects he'd need to fit into the jar. It was such a weird assignment and it made him nervous in a way he'd never been before. Sighing, he took the teacher's advice and started gathering all the rocks up. He quickly put them into the jar and frowned at how little space there was left already. He didn't like the rocks. What did the rocks mean, anyway? He didn't like that they took up so much space. Grunting he scooped up the marbles next and poured them into the jar. A few dropped down to the bottom, sneaking their way through cracks and spaces between the rocks, but most of them remained on top of the rocks. He continued to do this until he was out of objects. Decran squinted at the jar, brows knit together in frustration. He barely had any room left. That meant that his free time was scarce, didn't it? He rested his elbow on his desk and then rested his chin on his hand and huffed. What a stupid assignment. Surely he'd have more free time than what this jar showed him.

Lestari sighed softly at the assignment. It wasn't really that bad, and didn't sound that hard either. Right. She decided to start with an apartment. She didn't need a big place, really, but she wanted to live somewhere nice, somewhere close to her university of choice. She managed to find a nice one bedroom, already furnished, for 450 a month. Which left her wither 550 for everything else. She grumbled a bit as she fidgeted and budgeted the rest for food and necessities. There wasn't much left over to purchase fabrics and extras for her creations... She supposed that she would have to save up for the more expensive pieces, and sell what she could as she made it. With a final sigh, she passed in her assignment.

Seray had never attempted cooking in his entire life. So when that was the objective her felt himself pale, he was one who hated failure, and while he knew there was no real failing of this class he still felt uneasy with the idea. After his attempt it was clear that what he had made was inedible, he looked down and frowned. 'It was a stupid lesson anyway.'

Sure Galan had eaten tacos before, but he'd never cooked them. However, he had helped his 'Gran' make the famous family recipe for Goblin Seasoning. That ought to give him a headstart on this assignment...right?
----
Galan finished decking his taco shell and took a big bite.
Almost immediately his eyes began watering, his normally pallid skin going nearly green as the heat engulfed him. Goblins may pride themselves on their spices, but he was fairly certain that no one outside his own Race would be able to stomach this taco! He grabbed for the sour cream to manage the flavour. It wasn't just that it was intensely spicy, but the meat was too earthy, too sweet, too tangy, too much!
As he sat back, sucking on a spoonful of sour cream, he noticed Talfia coming around to grade his efforts. "Oh, miss! I wouldn't try it, if I were you!" he whispered, a little self-conscious that some of the others might overhear.

Ack, budgeting. Conan had already resigned himself to a lifetime of Cherish figuring out and keeping track of his finances for him. He was way too bad at keeping track of his money. This assignment was actually a lot to think about. At least he already had his keytar, which he had saved his Academy allowance for. There were so many questions though, would he live with his sisters? Maybe he'd live on Campus. That was a good way to save money. He did plan on attending Grendel after all. However, sticking to the assignment, he decided to find a cheap one bedroom apartment. He'd be living alone by the looks of it, for the sake of this project anyway. Food, music sheets, bills....in the end he figured he could have done better. But it wasn't really all that bad. He turned in his assignment and decided not to think about it ever again.

Oh no. Oh no, no, no. Esrael wasn't expecting this. Why couldn't they do something, anything else? Cooking was definitely not one of the boys skills. The last time he had tried to cook something he set off a fire alarm and it had scared him so much that he swears to this day that it almost gave him a heart attack. Esrael stood there, staring at the ingredients, fidgeting nervously. Something terrible was going to happen, he just knew it and then all the other kids were going to make fun of him. 'Well, it was nice going to school while it lasted, I'll have to skip town after this class now...' He sighed, trying to get all the disastrous thoughts out of his mind.
As he closely listened to Miss Talfia give directions on how to prepare everything he made sure to jot down some notes so he wouldn't forget a single thing. Okay. First thing's first. Esrael went to work with chopping the lettuce and dicing the tomatoes for the tacos. Luckily he managed to to get everything done without injuring himself! He moved on to the meat, making sure to brown and season the meat just right. When he finished he let out a sigh of relief, nothing horrible had happened. He didn't chop his finger off, he didn't set off the fire alarms, for once everything worked out in his favor.
Beaming with happiness the Fallen wiped the little beads of sweat off his forehead with a towel. His smile spread across his face and his feathered ears were lighting flapping with happiness as he portioned everything out and presented his tacos. Esrael waited for Miss Talfia to come around so she could try them and let him know how he did. He would have tried them for himself but he wasn't really that fond of meat.

Iah had never made a taco in his life. At home his family was on the rather filthy rich side and he had a cook who would make the tacos or he’d go out to a fast food place. Here at the academy while they didn’t really serve tacos meals where prepared by the school cook so once again Iah didn’t really have to touch cooking. However he supposed he would need to learn at least how to prepare some sort of meal for when he graduated even if that was a few years down the road. Looking around he noticed that the other students weren’t fairing to well and that didn’t bode to well for him. Ah well as long as he tried it he couldn’t fail. Okay he had cooked the meat and seasoned it, now he just needed all the materials right? Okay he had the taco shells, and the cheese, and the lettuce, and he obviously had the meet since he just finished it. Placing all the items together he had what looked like a normal couple of tacos. Taking one of them he dared a bit. Well it tasted normal. He wasn’t turning green and it wasn’t too bland. Ah well at least he knew one dish for after school.

Cooking? Well, cooking was a useful skill... He'd sort of tried to learn from his mother when he was back home, but never really got to have a proper lesson on how to do it. It sort of felt like they were being thrust into this without much assistance... He had a little trouble reading the recipe and ended up over spicing his meat. Well.
To the others, he did. Despite being isolated from his own people he had developed a love for spice anyway, these tacos were pretty good...! Now if only Talfia had agreed...

Wait, tacos? Tacos...Yaviss liked tacos. Tacos meant spices and hot sauces. He was glad he'd brought some with him in his backpack...
Personally, Yaviss preferred to add his seasoning after he finished cooking the food. So, ground beef, cooked on the pan, that was easy enough. Add some shredded cheese--oh good, they had the real stuff, not that face processed junk. And some lettuce, couldn't forget the lettuce... When it had all been constructed, Yaviss tried it. He made a face. Too bland. Oh well, at least the meat was well cooked...
He looked over at their teacher. She had implied that she was going to eat their hard-made tacos. He didn't think he approved of that. Dangit, these were his tacos, not hers! Rather presumptuous of her, wasn't it? Still... He fingered his necklace. Don't rock the boat. Don't make waves. He left a taco aside for her and grabbed the remaining one. He poured the hot sauce all over it and began to munch it. Ah, yes. Much better!

Wyrdda set to work immediately, looking up apartment prices and bills. She ran into trouble almost as immediately--nearly every apartment she could find for a reasonable price was in a less than savory part of town. She frowned. She didn't want to live in a place with high crime, or that was far away from the rest of town! Sure, there was public transit, but she didn't really want to have to look up what transit would cost for an entire month... She gritted her teeth and wrote down the price of one of the cheaper apartments. It's not like she was literally going to be living there, after all. After that came utilities. Electricity and water were easy to figure out at least. Phone prices were tricky--after all, phones were mostly useless to her, but she had to have a way of staying in contact with people. That meant a cell phone and a text plan. She wasn't sure how to factor in the cost of a cell phone--maybe pretend that she could pay it off in monthly payments?
By the time she finished with food, she was straining her budget, with nothing to spare. But hey, at least she had enough to cover the basic costs of living--right?
