"Mmh." The queen gave a sniff and stepped back, eyes scanning the target of her potential ire. There was nothing to fault in that reply, despite Regina's careful scrutiny of the other troll. It seemed as though the only problem with this Bunsen troll was the unfortunate lack of tact and bluntness that was - honestly - to be expected of a troll of his hue. Still he radiated a weird low key intensity and single-minded curiosity that she found irritating. Turning away slightly, she twirled the piece of chalk in her fingers. "Either way, there's no point getting all ... whatever. Strung up over things. Nothing's gonna get sorted out that way, so cool your jets."
Giving the redblood a sidelong look, Regina abruptly dropped the aggressive attitude. There was no point in wigging out the guests, even the lowbloods - not when she had hoped this night would help build connecting between her and others. Turning to face Alifax properly again, she clapped the other troll on the shoulder with her spare hand, and treated him to a confident, reassuring smile. "So whatever your gripes are with how things were being set up, how about you hold on to them huh? If I feel like salvaging this party for another night, I'll sign you up as uh - overseeing the management and arrangement of party festivals. Does that sound good t'you?" The smile continued, and she gave his shoulder a few extra pats before releasing it. As far as she was concerned, it would sound good enough to the redblood, and he'd get back to what was really important.

Chiara Moteku xxxxxReporting Chiara walked in the door, head held high. She was on a mission. First to the board to report her findings. Satisfied with her work she strolled around, looking at the plebeians attempt to report in their sad attempts at "investigating." First she scoped the room for Zindel. He should have finished his reporting and investigating by now at least. Besides, he had grown up well, it was good to show off ones belongings now and then. Her eyes instead fell on Lorata, the seadweller was babbling up a storm. No wonder they were put in the ocean away from all the land dwellers. Chiara himmed and hawed, but finally sauntered over to her seadweller "rival." "Wow, you managed to find something intelligent enough you thing it warrants a spot on the board huh?" Chiara was not bitter that this troll was a pompous salt brain during their last meeting. No. Not at all.
Chiara turned to a much friendlier face. "Well its a pleasure to see you Elidae, enjoying the culling, dinner and hopefully dancing? Chiara asked, raising an eyebrow as suggestively as a little kid really can. "And do you really thing Lorata's clues are helpful, insightful, and intelligent enough to help this case?" It was a challenge. Which side would Elidae choose. Chiara smirked at the sea dweller.

What did that mean? Alifax's brow wrinkled quickly - Regina's answer was about the best non-answer she could've given him. Still - if she wasn't worried about the strange discrepancies in the night's history, he wouldn't be, either. Even if he was fairly certain now that she was hiding something. The important thing to take away was that she hadn't known his name until just now, which meant that he couldn't be one of her targets.
Well. Maybe not, anyway. The swift change of mood took him for surprise until he heard what she was suggesting. His actual hive was far from the ideal location for anything like this, and his mailing address was covered in a layer of dust. Most of all - well, it was Alifax. He didn't even like parties; he'd only asked these questions because he wanted to know what'd happened tonight, which the queen clearly didn't want him to know. Still, he knew a dismissal when he heard one. "You might be better served with someone more social," he said, although he might be more willing to be in charge of security. "Thank you for the offer, though."
Because wow, did he have more to listen to.
In all fairness Alifax hadn't heard much of the lowblood's information, but it seemed strange to accuse anyone of harboring mutants so early in the night - although perhaps it was for the hunt, or something. Still, that wasn't really the sort of information that a troll with any sort of self-preservation wanted to get out about them, and it was still too early to be able to tell much.
Still - it wasn't like she'd announced it to the entire room. Alifax eyed them carefully. "That might be more appealing if you would be willing to do the same," he called to his seadweller ex-teammate.
He raked his eyes over the "information" already collected on the wall, and had to laugh at someone's suggestion that the tiny dirty mutantbloods couldn't have gotten in without help. Wasn't that quite, er, evident from the state of them? Still, the evidence of a missing weapon or blue traces on the floor - who was blueblooded here? Puchen...
Well, it wasn't as though the gun was likely to have been the murder weapon in this case. Even with a silencer they'd have to have heard a gunshot - right? No, perhaps the ammunition had been something strange like had been contained in Kursha's rifles. Maybe that was what had - well. Maybe Puchen had seen something. "I'd hesitate to start making accusations already, though," he added, speaking with caution in this respect at least. "I think a better endeavor is a survey of the contents in each room - and the current location of each of the suspects." If the queen really had any doubt as to anyone's innocence, she could probably prevent any of them from exiting - but as far as he could tell, anything would be fair game for being meddled with. He turned so that it'd be obvious that he was addressing the room at large. "For now we should keep information there purely factual." Also, you know, preferably with as little accusation as possible. "That said, it'd be prudent to note where everything is, and try to organize the searching so that we don't waste our time doubling back."
Still - it'd be far better to get information up sooner rather than later, and preferably in an organized manner rather than not. He didn't even know where the armory supposedly was. The best way to lead was probably by example. So he began the arduous task of drawing up a table in his admittedly fairly illegible blood color. (This was a little silly - why not use a wiggler's collection of Mirthful chalks instead?)
Still, when he was done he'd filled in all the information that he was already aware of. Unfortunately there were gaps in his knowledge - he didn't know where everything was, and he couldn't say he remembered the entrance hall too well. It was a pity he'd only observed those portraits for so long.

Just as he had been cursing everyone's lack of solidarity, Lorata spoke up. Turning away from the wall, Kursha scanned the room to see whether her words had any impact. She might have been a seadweller, but she was still a child. Certain trolls might choose to take advantage of that.
Even as he browsed the room, one troll stepped forward, a tiny speck of a greenblood. Listening in, Kursha copied down some of what she had to say. While he was at it, he added some of Lorata and Elidae's notes.
As he was finishing writing Lorata's information about the map, he heard Alifax address the whole room. Alifax, pragmatic as always. A moment later, the redblood joined him at the wall. Kursha stood back to watch the troll work. He squinted at the dark chalk. “You thinking of leaving space for anyone else?” he asked, half joking.
Behind him, he heard a young voice call out, somewhat familiar. He glanced over his shoulder to see. It was the blueblood from before the dinner, the girl who had played him up with flattery. At the present she appeared to be antagonising Lorata. Not a wise choice. In any other circumstance, he might have left them alone, but his temper was already running thin.
Offering a sharp grin that showed all his teeth, Kursha addressed the blueblood. “You got anything useful to contribute?” Screwing around was one thing. Screwing around in his presence—not to mention the queen's—was another.

There was a moment's pause, just long enough for Lorata to wonder if everyone was ignoring her, but then a greenblood made their way over and began rattling off their ideas. She beamed at Aconan approvingly. "That could be very useful for our investigation, you should add it to the wall." For a moment she seemed about to say more, but another voice caught her attention and she turned to look.
The troll approaching was a familiar one, though it still took her a second to place. Chiara! What a great time for an informant to show up. Interesting trolls, clues, same difference, right? For a moment, though, the seadweller's expression turned puzzled, but she shrugged it off. "We found plenty of intelligent things to put on the wall," she boasted, motioning to include Elidae and Kursha. Which was, of course, about when Chiara turned and decided to question Elidae about it. Lorata's eyes narrowed.
Of course Elidae would take her side. They were partners, on the case! But she'd forgotten how irritating this blueblood could be when she stopped playing her proper role. Before she could say anything else about it, however, Kursha's voice came. She glanced back at him, noted quickly that he'd written her finding for her, and then turned back to regard Chiara with a sweet smile. She obviously had the Captain backing her up. No way anyone could trump that.

Alifax wasn't surprised to hear someone address him, not after spending so long writing on the wall. "There are spaces," Alifax nodded, gesturing at the plentitude of lines left blank. He looked over at Kursha's contributions - oh, he was the one with the armory - and paused. None of it - well, a lot of it was useful information. Not all of it, though, was as specific as Alifax would've liked.
He waited for his - friend? - to address the small blueblood first, though. Enjoying the culling? Ah...he'd definitely let Kursha handle this one.
"If I may, could I ask where some of those items are?" Alifax was willing to write that the husktop's screen was red (although was that really relevant?), but he couldn't imagine where the meat had come from, or the map. And he didn't know where the basement or armory were, either. "I've seen the husktop, obviously, but I don't know where the map and meat might be located, or where to find the basement or armory."
He was willing to write the information up himself if it meant that everything was being clarified.
He'd have bristled when Lorata proceeded to ignore him, but Alifax wasn't that guy. Also, well: seadweller. He'd spent a bit more time with Sarcel on that, uh, trip anyway. He simply went back to his chalk. It was better to have a fuller picture of what was going on in this hive, and it looked like Kursha was being surprisingly communicative.

Chiara Moteku xxxxxRemarking Chiara's eyebrows shot up at Kursha's remark. To think she had once looked up to this troll for leading an army. "You know..." Chiara started, grinning as she scrutinized Kursha, "I can see why the raid on the rebels all went south. Your awfully hot headed to be a leader of anything..." Chiara directed her attention to Lorata. "I don't mean to be rude, but the entire battle plan went terribly. I know someone as connected as you could find a better commander for the next battle."

Lorata blinked, another voice reminding her that she'd forgotten to address someone in her surprise at Chiara's little challenge. She glanced back again to find Alifax and momentarily wondered if Sarcel would be here too. The whole team! She squinted at his chart a second, then nodded. "Oh! The map was in the library too, in between the bookshelves. I found that one! See, I did share." The others she was less sure about, and she'd never been in the basement or armory, but...
"The meat was found in a fridge, I think, so probably a kitchen?" Was the greenblood still here? She turned to catch Aconan's attention again. "Ah, um-" she didn't have a name, hm. "Greenblood, was that right? Or can you tell him where you found everything?"
And then Chiara was talking again and Lorata's fists clenched. What was it with stupid blueblood kids?"What would you know about it?" She snapped, eyes narrowed angrily. "If there's any reason it 'all went south' it's probably because we made the mistake of letting useless trolls like you come along." She lifted her chin in a challenge of her own. "In fact, how about you run along before you manage to get in our way again?"
As Zindel walked into the Central Hivestem once again, the redblood glanced from side to side, observing the room before thinking of what to do. There was a big group of important trolls there, and of course, Chiara had to be right in the middle of it. When isn't she?Zindel asked himself, eyes slightly rolling as he walked closer to the group, avoiding it but getting close enough to see what's on the board. His eyes squinted heavily at the board, trying to understand what it said and reading it to himself in a low voice so he could understand it. He felt dumb now, reading how detailed and well written the words looked. He wasn't going to talk to Chiara as of now, he had other things to worry about. Like how to write things on the wall. Zindel took a chalk, writing a little squiggle on the side to test it out-- Wow, he'd never heard of something like this, a board that used... powder? Was this pressurized powder? He couldn't help but do a little more before dusting it off and actually starting to try write something. While it took a while to write the message, which was practically a scrawl and looked like a wiggler's handwriting, it still went to the point and said what he'd found out.

Zindel finished his writing, stepping back and squinting at it. He felt a little accomplished at what he'd written before hearing a familiar blueblooded trolls voice stand out from the group. Oh s**t. Was she seriously starting s**t infront of the commander and a ******** seadweller?!? Okay, nope, Zindel wasn't staying to watch how this s**t would explode. Lorata seemed to have found some pretty interesting information in the library, as well! Teamwork! Willingly following Kursha to the wall, she bobbed her head as she listened to him, humming in agreement, despite somewhat not understanding some of what he was talking about. Who was Puchen? She smiled up at him, regardless.
"I wanted to write that..." Elidae pouted when Kursha wrote some of her findings up on the wall, but decided to put it out of her mind and let Kursha do his thing, admiring his leadership skills. Becoming startled, Elidae looked to Lorata when she pretty much addressed the entire room, telling them to give more information. Well, she admired her straightforward attitude.
A familiar voice and suddenly Elidae froze up. Her whole body stiffening at the odd communication between Chiara and Lorata. Two very bold personalities, together, on either side of her. She felt her pumpbiscuit throb, throat tightening, unable to speak. Why was she saying such things about her new friend? Why was her new friend saying such things about Chiara? AND WHY WAS SHE SAYING SUCH THINGS ABOUT KURSHA? But there it was again. Triggering her think pan, Elidae wasn't sure how to respond at first, as the last time she was given the code word, nothing happened. Had she done the action wrong? Or was it merely a coincidence? Regardless, Elidae took her chances, despite the possible failure the previous time. Elidae inwardly whimpered, but put on a false show of being at ease. Not well, though. "Ch-Chi--CHI-CHIARAAA." Elidae piped up, voice high and strained, but she forced a laugh and patted her on shoulder daintily. "I-I-I'm sure you don't mean that, right? Um, uh, you're just high stressed, because of the situation, right? Right?"

Ҕᾁʐɱᾁʂ Ҏӫςɧῒɱ
It seemed the Hivestem was unusually active, especially considering how relatively quiet it had been over the past couple days. Though it had been getting steadily busier as time passed. However, tonight, things seemed to be getting rather heated, particularly between Chiara and a fellow greenblood whom he recognized as Kursha from when they stormed the Rebel's cave.
'Huh, never thought we'd run into him again so soon,' the child thought and slunk along the walls so as to avoid getting involved with said blue vs. green conflict, when he saw a chart held by a familiar redblood. It looked like the same redblood he'd passed in the trophy room, though he'd been to filled with pent-up frustration with Eridia to say anything at the time. Glancing at the two trolls facing off, the youngster turned his attention to the redblood and the graph they were writing on the board.
"That's impressive," he remarked, striding up to the board. "But your missing some stuff."
The little green blood pointed to the Northern Outgrowth section. "Over by the high table, where Epratt was murdered, there was a pill wedged between his chair cushions. I dunno what it is yet, but it's pretty big for a pill. Definitely a high dose. Might be medicine of some sort, but I dunno. And in one of the cloths from the tables, there was a post card with no toor from address. But whoever it was to might've had connections to the military at some point since they mentioned it and Chittentown's drought. A lusus was also mentioned, Ewema. Apparently they're worried about the recipient. I dunno if it has anything to do with the pill or the murder, but it's possible."
Hazmas paused, lacing his fingers together behind his head as he looked up at the redblood. "Name's Hazmas, by the way. Hazmas Pochim."
The young troll almost grinned but stopped when he read the latest scribble on the board. 'A tunnel?? THAT'S IT!'
Grabbing his own piece of chalk, Hazmas went to work, scribbling frantically, adding up more clues than the two he'd just shared.

[+] Kursha Vidari
Kursha glanced back at Alifax to add onto Lorata's response, choosing to ignore the impudent blueblood for the time being. If she wanted to be a brat, than he would not waste his time. “I don't know about the basement,” he said. “But the armoury is in the East...” His voice trailed off. His pump biscuit beat fast in his chest as his blood turned hot.
The silence that fell after the blueblood finished felt like a physical weight. He could hear every thump of his blood pusher.
In front of him, Lorata had stepped forward to speak, posture defensive. For whatever reason, Kursha could not make out what it was she said. His sponge clots were ringing. Then Elidae went to the blueblood with an appeal. Again, her words were muddled, but she seemed anxious. Rightfully so.
Silent, Kursha brushed past Lorata. Placing a hand on Elidae's shoulder, he gently but firmly moved her to one side. He now stood directly in front of the blueblood. With their difference in height over a foot, he loomed over her. “First off,” he began, making sure to speak slowly so that she would not miss a word, “Lorata had nothing to do with my role as commander. If you wanna make a complaint, I'd take it up with the troll with the fins standing just over there. I'm sure you recognise her; hopefully you'll give her a little more respect than you gave my friend here.” He jerked a thumb in Regina's direction.
“Secondly, the raid on the Phoenix Initiative was successful, as far as clearing out their nest went. We left them half-dead, stranded in the wilderness. They're history. But you know? That wasn't a job that could be done by one troll. Not me, not you, not anyone else here. Which brings me to my next point.”
Kursha stooped down so that he was face to face with the blueblood, hands on his knees. “This is a team effort. You wanna give me s**t for what happened back in the desert? Fine. I don't care what a freshly-hatched wiggler thinks. But right now we've got work to do and when I say I expect you to cooperate, I mean it.” There was a pause. Then he gave her his best shark tooth grin. “Where's your lusus, kid? It's not smart to go around without one.”

Chiara Moteku xxxxxResponding Chiara rolled her eyes as the sea dweller tried once again to force her authority on the situation. Of course she had big googly eyes for the commander of the army. He was like a hero on a stage. Perfect in all the ways for the sea dwelling girl to fawn over. Just Chiara's luck tho, that roll of the eyes landed her sight right on a sneaky little Zindel. Trying to get past the chalk board without being seen by this group of trolls would be a feat indeed. She would need to keep an eye on him. Oh poor poor Elidae. She was trying so hard to smooth things over. Chiara put her hand around Elidae's waist in a half hug as the troll patted Chiara's shoulder. "Aww, your so sweet Elidae. Always doing your best for everyone." During the shoulder pat/half hug Chiara transfers the package Then things happened. Chiara's grin became manic, her eyes growing wide and hungry as Kursha looked right into them. She fed off of his anger, enjoying each fierce word he lashed out at her. It all had such emotion, it got her heart beating fast, sweat started to bead on the back of her neck and her palms. Finally he stooped, eye level with her. Her grin calmed a little as he became her height. Now just an equal. No longer trying to be some jaunty thing he was never really. She hadn't been listening, too wrapped up in enjoying the emotion of it all. His question at the end snapped her out of it. Brought her back from being an adrenaline fulled monster who only wanted the fight. "I don't need some stupid animal to protect me. Only weak trolls rely on pathetic things like their lusus for protection." Her grin changed from hunger to as sweet as she could make it. "But isent that sweet of you to care." Chiara curtsied to Kursha again, just like at the beginning of this event, and stepped back to collect her redblooded entourage.
Chiara walked over to where she had last seen Zindel. With adrenaline still coursing through her she managed to capture Zindel's arm in her own. She stood straight backed and confident. Walking away she peered over her shoulder back at the group, giving them another one of her signature smiles, and carried on her way out of sight. Chiara's legs started to shake, her sweaty palms grew cold. The adrenaline and excitement was leaving her, making her light headed. "So, Zin, what did you end up finding out?" She managed to say as she made her way to the nearest set of chairs.

To Lorata, Alifax nodded. He guessed she was sharing - even if it was only to Kursha. As long as pertinent information got passed along eventually, he didn't really mind. "I'll keep that in mind," he said, noting the locations on the wall where they belonged. He was pretty sure the nutrition block was a good location for the thermal hull, although he punctuated that note with a question mark - he could easily move the information if the greenblood girl said otherwise. To Kursha, he said just, "Thanks." He'd have asked for further information about the armory - was there anything else in there? - but the blueblood crowding in on their group had Alifax retreating as close to the wall as possible, in the guise of writing the new information down. Which, to be fair, he was doing. He was soon joined by another redblood, who scribbled some, uh, frankly incomprehensible things onto the wall.
Okay, they weren't that incomprehensible. But none of the information was stuff that he could add to the charts just yet. "Excuse me - " he said, to the redblood with messy handwriting. "Do you mind letting me know where the basement is? Do you remember anything else in there - or any people in there?" Were the mutants unguarded? Only one of the suspects, as far as Alifax could tell, had been accounted for so far - Ioyana. He wasn't sure who this Gerard person was - well, glasses guy - but Alifax started a new section in his notebook for him anyway, noting that he was rumored to be hiding his blood color. There. Of course, as he waited, he was interrupted - by a greenblood who was becoming more and more familiar. "You can use my charts, you know," Alifax said to the greenblood. Especially if he thought Alifax's information was lacking. Some highbloods didn't really understand that not all lowbloods possessed psionic abilities. Well, Alifax did possess a psionic ability, but not one that'd have helped him exist in multiple places at once. He hadn't wanted to stay in the northern outgrowth for any longer than necessary, after all. But that was coolbloods for you.
"Alifax Bunsem," he said in reply. The greenblo - oh, fine, Pochim's - writing was at least far more legible, but it was still lacking. Where had those candy wrappers been found in the trophy block? What else was in the northern outgrowth? Still, he transferred the information diligently. "Did you happen to see any of the, ah, celebrities while you investigated?" Alifax asked. "Were there any notable features in any of the blocks you searched?" Because clearly this greenblood had at least spent time in the northern outgrowth. Who'd stayed there with him?

[+] Kursha Vidari
“Hm...?” At the blueblood's response, Kursha offered her a pitying smile. He rose to his full height, hands on his waist. So, that's the way it was. Watching as she curtsied and pulled away, his expression never wavered: tense, grinning, and confident. It was only when she turned her back on him, that something in his eyes changed.
A sharp snapping sound cut through the air. A moment later something nailed Chiara in the back of her head. A half stick of olive green chalk clattered to the floor. Behind her, Kursha had not moved from where he had stood. He lowered his arm. The other half of the chalk was gripped between his fingers.
Making eye contact, he called after her, “Make sure you come back with something worthwhile.”
