Supply Run 9/22 - Step 2

Apparently something had heard her complaints, because the next blow she landed sent it flying and it dissipated for the time being. She just had to run back and not drop water now!

While she tripped up and dropped half of her water she was still lucky enough to bring half of it back this time and help out in a small way.

Supply: Supply Run

It's your job as an underling to go out and find the supplies that the prison faction members need to survive. This is exactly as dangerous as it sounds. Good luck.

Step One: Finding Water
The streets are an absolute wreckage heap of abandoned cars, rotting bodies, and horrid smells. You need to find a building that might have what you're looking for (in this case, bottled water), and fast - your presence has already attracted some attention.

-Roll as many d10 as you dare. You must reach 10 water to proceed, but the more you roll, the more likely you'll find company. If you don't reach 10 water, you can continue to roll until you do. Match your results below.

1. You've found a hardware store. It looks picked clean. (0 water)
2. You've found a small grocery store. The shelves are empty, but if you look in the back store room.. (2 water)
3. You've found a major convenience store. The motherload! (5 water)
4. You've entered the first building you could find, a house. The bedroom still contains what remains of the inhabitants, don't go in there The broken fridge, while filled with rotting food, has a supply of untouched bottled water in the back. (2 water)
5. There's a gas station on the corner. Surely there's at least something left.. (3 water)
6. You enter a toy store. This definitely doesn't - wait, did you check the staff room fridge? (1 water)
7. You've found what was probably once a restaurant, but the sign's long been destroyed. Still, there's a stock room.. (1 water)
8. A giant building turns out to be what was once a wholesale food store. It had food in bulk.. jackpot. (5 water)
9. You enter a pet store. It looks hopeless, until you notice that the sign in the grooming section that claims they give the pets Evian.. thank goodness for pretentious pet stores. (2 water)
10. You enter a computer store. Every single device is broken - and there's no water in sight. (0 water)

Remember, you must obtain 10 water to continue. Step one has a minimum word count of 300 words, that can be spread out between any posts done for step one.

Step Two: You've Been Noticed
Step two is only required if you rolled one of the following numbers at any time during step one: 3, 5, or 8. If you did not roll one of these numbers, you may continue to step three without action. If you did roll one of these numbers, you attracted attention.

Something shambles closer. It was waiting, having holed up here where others have looked. Perhaps this was why you found so much; it was just too easy. Too obvious. And now, too late to run.

-To continue, you must disable the infected coming towards you. It has 5HP and is not fast enough to attack you as long as you keep attacking it. You may use your current dice based on your weapon (starting weapons are 2d6-6) and attack until it reaches 0HP. This does not kill it, it only disables it enough for you to get away. Run.

Step Three: Heading back
It sure is hard to run with supplies, isn't it?

-Roll 1d10.
1-3: You drop the water you've found but make it back alive. That counts for something, doesn't it? (Fail)
4-6: You drop half of the water you've found, but you get back with 5 bottles. Every bit counts. (Pass)
7-10: You make it back alive, unhurt, with all your water intact. Well done! (Pass)

Rewards:
If you successfully pass all three steps, you are awarded an extra 5 bars. (Step two is passed whether you find a zombie, or beat a zombie. There is no fail!) You also receive 25% Supply Cred. If you failed at step three, you only receive 3 bars, and 10% Supply Cred. Please keep track of your Cred in your journal! You will need it in order to complete Officer level quests!

Supply Run 9/24 - Step 1

Hitting up the convenient store, Diana knew this routine. She'd slowly gotten more and more comfortable running out and doing jobs for the prison, and now she was making it in and out a lot faster than before. She knew the spots to look, where the hidden stashes were, and for the most part what to avoid. She was comfortable running through the undying infested town as strange as that was to say. She felt like she belonged when doing her job, and was proud when she came back with things. Even when she didn't she still came back with her life and that was good enough. Or so they had been saying. Not every day was a good day for her, but it was a learning experience and she usually did okay for herself.

Supply Run 9/24 - Step 1

She'd never seen this much water before. It was hard carrying all of it, and she couldn't help it as she stumbled into one of the aisles and knocked over some boxes in the wholefood store. What sort of place had this much water and didn't run out?? Not that she was complaining or anything. More water was good for them. It helped them stay alive, and they needed all they could get of course. She should've known while she was fumbling like a fool in this large store that something would be out to get her. That's how it always happened with her and her supply runs. She got lots of water, and then undying always showed up to ruin things for her. Couldn't she have just one day where she got things and didn't have to fight evil zombie creep things or whatever they were. It was getting really old having to deal with them. Well, at least it wasn't a whole lot of them. Only a little more and she could run back.

Supply Run 9/25 - Step 1

She'd been thinking a lot about things lately. Things she really shouldn't be thinking about, but things nonetheless. Things like what she would do after all of this was over. It was a silly thing to think of, especially since there was no telling when or even if they would get out of there alive. She really hoped they all did, but chances were slim. With the city closed off and no forseeable way out they were pretty well stuck with little supplies until someone tried to rescue them or they fought their way out. Neither of the options sounded very promising to her. Sure with everyone at the prison pitching in things were running a bit more smoothly, but that didn't mean it would last forever. They were all getting tired, and there were only so many supply runs one person could do before things started to run out. She felt like she'd hit up every store in the city at least a couple of times now. Sure, she was good at it and all, but it got really tiring after a while. She did her job to help everyone at the prison out, but was there really a point to all of it? Would they ever get out of this ridiculous mess and have everyone go back to their families, and if they didn't have anyone would they just wander? She knew a lot of them had families. Monica had her brother, Adelaide had her boys, nearly everyone had someone to go back to. She didn't though. This ragtag group of prisoners and workers that happened to be around during day zero were her family now. After they all split or died she would be alone again doing who knew what. That was the reason why she kept running these supplies really. To help out while she could and hope they'd all get out of this and eventually go back to their happy lives. Even if it meant she would be all alone again.
