User Image“Allie if you do not want to go with that man...” Lerin started, while her tone was polite any one that had known her for years could tell that she was bordering along the lines of blinding rage. While she had been sitting next to Frost and Allie she had yet to say anything as she was extremely close to snapping, in fact her whole posture was tense and rigid and extremely unhappy. She was barely controlling her wings as it was. Luckily before she did snap someone else did it before her. She shook her head and went to finish her sentence and held Allie’s hand. “If you do not wish to go with that Grimm, then I swear to you nothing and no one is going to take you from me and seth.”

She looked over to notice that Seth was handling Frost. Good, she’d go back to being a good mother in a moment but Allie needed her as well and seth was very capable of handling their son. “Same goes for you little one. No one is taking either of you”

User ImageAva's show of support shocked Batholith to the very bones. He had not expected this reaction from her--not as the Headmistress in whom he lived in fear, nor as a Demon. She was...a separate kind of person, then. A Demon unlike all of the Demons he'd met before. The people of the Academy were practically a race and a culture all their own. Would they ever cease to amaze?

He was probably in trouble, though. He looked back at the hated Grimm shaman. The response he got from Kestrel was not at all what Batholith had expected. Though his face remained cold and passive, inside his eyes a tragedy of emotions played out--hurt, loss, determination, anger. Batholith locked his own rainbow eyes on Kestrel's brown. His own eyes reflected the same. He didn't need a mirror to know that. He knew his emotions, and he now saw the Grimm's as well. He did not back down. His own facial expression did not change. He would not back down. I know hurt. I have suffered loss. I am determination incarnate. And now you know my anger.

Yes, he understood Kestrel a little better now--he saw in him a little bit of himself. But that didn't mean he was going to back down. And it didn't mean that he didn't hold Kestrel in utter, unshakable contempt. When he ran away, Bath held his head high. He turned back to Ava and shook his head. "I can't, sorry," he said softly. "I was just here to get the water to the elder. I gotta put the cart away, and anyway, I promised to meet someone." He needed to talk to that kid, Foras. He seemed like he had his head screwed on straight. Maybe talking to a kid would calm him down.

His point made, he gave a slight bow of respect towards the headmistress, collected the cart, and squeaked his way back out of the room. His bangs hid his face as tears of frustration and of fear welled in his strange eyes.

This was all getting to be absolutely too much. He sighed and reluctantly removed his feet from the bucket wiggling his toes for a moment then planted his cane and pushed himself up with a soft groan as his knees protested, and carefully made his way to the forefront of the stage as Kestrel stormed off. He waved off Mink from taking over and his gesture also seemed to say that if she wanted to follow her mate then he could handle things for the moment.

His pants dripped water from where the edges had gotten wet and his jacket was damp in places from dipping his hands and his handkerchief, but despite his rather mussed appearance he didn't seem to let it stop the air of authority that he wielded like a sword. He tapped his cane once insistently on the stage and then rested it in front of him hands folded on the pearl. He looked around the room silently, taking in every individual who'd either been noted by Kestrel or spoken out against him.

"I think it is time for everyone to take a moment to cool off. Tempers have flared, and violence promised, but violence is never a course of action that should be decided upon lightly." he glanced back at the pallet of water bottles, there weren't enough for everyone in the room, but perhaps they could send out for more. "Perhaps we should all take a moment, have something to drink, collect thoughts." he looked back at the Demoness who he knew was conflicted and wished to follow after the hybrid that had appeared earlier. "Headmistress, perhaps you would be so kind as to assist me in handing out some bottles to those gathered here? I would move the case myself, but I fear my knees would revolt against me." his tone remained calm, collected. "And perhaps we should call for a few more, there are not nearly enough for everyone gathered here." he said with a very small smile. "In the mean time I would be happy to answer questions about what I know in relation to the Grimm and the Nixie for anyone who may have them."

Mink watched the interaction, yet she didn't step in. She didn't know what to say. Kestrel was wrong, and it was hard realizing when someone you love more than anything was unable to be helped. She watched him storm off, eyes flicking towards the Headmistress and than the hybrid from earlier. She briefly listened to Ryuuichi before giving the tiniest of smiles, despite her worries.

Violence was to be expected.

What had Kestrel thought would happen? That the academy would peacefully sit back and release the students they devoted their lives to? Students who, mostly, had lost parents due to the war? Did he think they'd just watch as he took the children who didn't want to go? The students? Those who graduated? All of them? As far as she knew about this strange place, the academy seemed devoted to assisting any in need, whether from their doors or not, and he had promised to take, by force, anyone.

This hadn't been well planned out.

A part of her was furious. She had a plan. Ryuuichi and her had wanted peace. No, scratch that, she wanted peace. Ryuuichi wanted to go home and forget this happened. Kestrel ruined the plan, and now everyone was hostile. On end. Afraid. Her tail lashed behind her as she frowned, hand raising to touch her chin in thought. This was doomed to fail. She knew it. If Kestrel didn't relax they would return home empty-handed. Luckily, he was gone for the moment.

"Ooo, ooo! I can help!" Mink chimed as she heard Ryuuichi mention passing out water, immediately tearing open some pallets with her claws and grabbing a few in her arms, scurrying off to hand them around. She'd try her best to fix the damage done, and one easy way was to simply help those around her!

"If there's any questions and I'm nearby, lemme know!" She added, tail wagging as the excitement returned and she was once again reduced to a blissful puppy, handing water out.

She was grateful for the distraction, especially when water was mentioned. He was right, those around probably were thirsty. Who knew how long they'd be here? Eying Mink as she ran off to tear open pallets before rushing off to begin handing out water, the Headmistress took her time in doing so herself. She scooped a few bottles up, headed off the stage, and began handing the bottles out, keeping an eye out for any of those who might have a question for her, or needed reassurance.

She still needed to figure a plan out. The higher-ups would not approve of the Grimm snatching children, or even the adults for that matter. She doubted any aggressive response she gave would result in much backlash, as long as the ones taken were unharmed. It was her duty, after all, to ensure the safety of those within the academy, and almost the entire Grimm race of Below was under her roof at this minute. It was well within her right to defend them, but how? She couldn't ask the adults to fight for her. There were only five of the visitors, security could handle them. Then what would happen when the tribe heard news of their attack? Would they retaliate?

Maybe she should invest in a protection spell while she had the time. Something to ensure no one left the campus. This meant the visitors were trapped, too, but it also meant they couldn't leave with her people. Yet, it'd take awhile to set up, and who knew what would happen during that time...

What could she do that didn't shed blood?

Persephone got up and casually slid over to her boss and took a couple bottles, pretending, well not pretending, she'd be helpful, to look busy. "Sorry, boss, got a little hot headed." she said quietly. "Anything you want me to do in the mean time?" she asked, her tail flicked gently behind her. "I just...this is my home..." she said turning one of the bottles in her hands and looking at the label. "I don't know what he thinks a Grimm should be, but I know who and what I should be." she sighed. "We got a couple younger kids in here, want me to escort them out, or let them ride the wave? Been here this long...besides some of them are about ready to graduate, this is their future they're looking into, if that blowhard gets his way."

She let out a very soft and low growl at the thought of Kestrel. His mate seemed to have some sense, why couldn't She be the one in charge. "I follow you. Just wanted you to know that." she said with a firm nod.

Ava flicked her tail as she heard familiar footsteps, fully expecting the Grimm who appeared beside her. Nodding towards the taller Nightmare, slowing her movements down so she could stealthily speak to the other. Having a back up plan that the visitors knew nothing about was a good idea, and the Grimm before her was loyal. She could rely on her. Persephone had proved her worth a long time ago.

"It's fine, Persephone. I expected no less." She whispered, giving a rare and reassuring smile towards the Grimm. "Your loyalty is touching." She added before her eyes scanned the room, giving a brief and grateful nod when Persephone stated her loyalty.

"The younger ones may stay, for now. This is their history, they should be a part of it. At the second of danger I want your first priority to be the younger ones and evacuating them to the basement. If you can reach the children outside of the room, then that should be where you go next. The children are our first goal. They are defenseless, we must keep our promise to them and ensure they have a bright future." Yes, the children were her first concern, as upsetting as it was. Ideally, she'd want to protect everyone, but the young were the first priority.

"As for the man who just left. If you see him attempting to remove anyone against their will, please restrain him physically if possible, with as little bloodshed as possible. The security team should be alerted shortly after, so it won't be long. I'm sorry for relying on your strength so much." She hated relying on Persephone this much, but it was evident that the other was far stronger physically than she was. Ava could use magic, but she doubted she could handle two very angry Grimm at once. Not without time to prepare, and she lacked time. She only hoped Persephone would forgive her for using her strength to her advantage. The Grimm wasn't a tool, and yet her actions reminded her of the hateful Demon from ages before.

She nodded just slightly and let her ears flick back and forth as she listened to both the Demoness and the hushed whispers of the students and former students alike in the room. "Got it." she gave a sniff and looked in the general direction of the basement. "Smells like Kanna is down there...she'd be able to help mind this bunch." she then looked up towards the windows that were along the top of the wall in the room. "Might regret it later, but I might be able to jump that high and get out one of those windows...I can climb the curtains." she said formulating her plan. "If I have to get outside what do you want me to do about the Elder's daughter and the Grimm boy? I doubt they fully realize what they were even brought to do." she said a little sadly. People using kids was just...ugh...she bit the inside of her mouth carefully and frowned.

"You know what, I'll just keep them with the rest of the kids." she looked towards center stage. "Least he's rational." she said. "I wonder if his whole race is like that. Wouldn't mind some more rational people around." she said with a faint smile.

Her eyes trailed after where Persephone was sniffing, internally wincing. She knew where her partner was, but she couldn't leave the scene. Her job was here, and despite how much her brain screamed at her to find her partner she just couldn't. Frustration returned, and for a second she wondered why she had been chosen as Headmistress. She was supposed to have answers, always, and yet she stood here endangering her staff and the Grimm under her roof. She had allowed potential threats within the building.

At the mention of the two children who had come with the adults she frowned. She would not allow a finger to be laid on them, whether or not they had come with the problem. "Yes, keep them with the children. One, the daughter is family of the Elder, and he has done nothing to us. Second, they are just children. We cannot allow harm to come to them."

At Persephone's last remark she briefly glanced at Ryuuichi, mouth tightening in thought. What were the Nixie like? For a second, she wondered what would come if they came to the academy. No, that was unlikely to happen, and Ava was not approaching the subject currently. If the Nixie wished to, she'd be delighted to open their doors for them. However, just like Kestrel could not take the Grimm, she could not take the Nixie.

Only time would tell.

"Right. Got it." she sighed and gathered up the last of the bottles she was going to juggle. "See you on the other side." she turned and walked off down the aisle distributing bottles to anyone who seemed interested.

She was nearly out when she passed by a familiar dark haired Grimm and her Baphomet friend. Seems they'd added a few to the ranks as well with a Fallen and a Grimm child. She gave up her last two bottles to the Baphomet, one for the little pale child and the other for his dark haired companion and leaned in just slightly to whisper in the adult Grimm's ear.

"It's going to be okay. We'll get through this. Just hold their hands and don't let go." she gave the Grimm's shoulder a squeeze and then went back to her seat.

Conan buried his face in his hands as Cherish spoke up. Jeez, hsn't they talked about well, not talking, once they got here? Sure, he was just as annoyed with the strange Grimm on stage as she was. But he didn't exactly want to get thrown out by Ava, or any of the other teachers for that matter. They shouldn't have to sneak in though, shouldn't all of the Grimm students be here? Heck, should all of the students be here? Regardless of their race, they all had good enough reason to know what this Grimm was here to do. And his sole desire seemed to be taking their Grimm away.

Needless to say, things were exploring. Tempers were flaring and really this assembly was going nowhere fast. He was curious when Kestral mentioned that his people were dying, what exactly had they meant by that? Could it be that only a small handful had survived all those years ago at the beginning of the War with Above? He'd read what he could about the 'Sleeping Sickness' that had wiped out the Grimm. Some had obviously survived though, but just how many? Should he just be happy that there were more Grimm out there? He didn't have to take them all back to this other 'home' with them.

He watched as the Demon/Imp hybrid on stage went off on the Grimm. Emotions had definitely gotten the better of some in the room. The other Grimm left the stage, leaving his partner in charge than. All of this was just...so much to take in.

At least he could be happy they hadn't been kicked out. When the female Grimm made her way around, passing out water bottles he couldn't help but ask some questions when she wandered by.

"He said your people are dying. What does he mean by that? If it's a matter of you all needing to...repopulate. Well than, even I wouldn't mind helping to imbue a soul stone. So long as that child had rights to leave the pack if they decided they wanted to and so on. We're not heartless here. This is just...how we've learned to be Grimm. In our own way." He had a concerned look on his face as he looked the woman over. He really meant everything he said, even if his sisters didn't agree. He couldn't exactly not help them if they needed the help, but he wasn't about to leave his siblings either.

Mink's ears flicked up when a Grimm hybrid spoke to her, skittering back towards them with a huge grin. Oh! Questions! She was always excited to answer! Her tail wagged so hard that her body wiggled, eyes lighting up. Oh! What a wonderful idea!

"Well, our people are losing their numbers. We've been alone so long that families are merging and we can't imbue stones!" She admitted, smile faltering a little before reappearing, head tilting to the side. "No no! I get how you feel, honestly. I'd be scared, too! This is your home!" She admitted, wincing slightly. Oh, Kestrel would be disappointed if her heard that, but... it was true! Tail still wiggling, she touched her paws together in thought, nodding.

"If that is what the parents want, we'd happily accept them and raise them under the condition they can leave when they wish. I'm sure that'd be okay..."

Nott started to reach forward to take Cameron's paw, since of the triplets, she hadn't spoken up yet, but stopped, hesitating over that forward gesture. besides, it would make her presence more obvious. She was ok with being quiet, though she was almost overflowing with questions. Was he really going to try and force any of the Grimm to go with him? The pureblooded ones at least might be in danger, would his own 'pack' support him in this? Why was he so particularly invested that they had to -leave- to save the pack instead of trying to re-open more general communication? His attitude made her suspect he probably wouldn't have liked it much if she suddenly appeared, or if he even caught her scent, which she hoped was covered by the others in the room, hybrids included. Had they even known there were stones left in the cashe? ... Oh gods, what if he went to the cashe and just... hoped for the best? Would he steal stones that hadn't been awakened yet?

No that was probably just in her mind. Easy to write giant over-arcing plots into this. Truth might be considerably different than what she was wildly imagining.

She was definitely going to have to shake the triplets down once they got out of here, if only to vent her backload of questions.

Okay, so, Cherish might not have HELPED the situtation but they were close enough to graduating that they should have a say in things, no? Still she had remained quiet and low-key after her initial outburst and when Conan spoke to the Grimm woman she bit her bottom lip. She... held no ill will toward this woman. The other Grimm male could go take a long walk off a short cliff but...

"I might have... spoken out of turn..." Cherish admitted quietly after the woman answered Conan's question. "I mean... I'd love to learn more about part of my heritage and that - and like my brother said I'd be more than happy to imbue a stone... if it helped save our people but... Nobody should be forced into something - that's... slavery you know?"

They should be free to make their own choices with their lives right?

"But... I really am curious where we come from... So I'd love to have a chance to see our ancestral home and all that - maybe even spend some time there and learn our cultural music... We're musicians you see... So if I can help preserve our cultural heritage that way then... I'd love to learn more!"

Her head snapped to view the other hybrid, smiling faintly. Oh? "Well, the stones can return to their parents if they wish to. Like the academy!" She murmured thoughtfully. It wasn't any different than the academy awakening stones and raising them there, right? What if the children were given an option at a young age? Would Kestrel allow that? Would the Nixie allow that? How would they feel about stones being sent to the tribe?

Her smile returned as the other mentioned how they were curious, blinking back. Musicians? Learn their cultural music? That was a... wonderful idea! Without thinking, she leaned forward and grabbed the hybrid's hands, nodding enthusiastically.

"That is the best idea I've ever heard! We need more musicians! Our music is about to be lost! You can learn it and spread it across the lands!" She squeaked. More culture being learned and spread, it was a dream come true. Finally the Grimm would know who they are. Finally.
