"Like hell I'm your ally, " Hitch spat bitterly, because he'd already ******** seen through it. "An' like ********' hell you do a goddamn lick of ********' good - some shitty a** job you people have ********' done with this piece of s**t city!" He only half-knew what he was saying, really, pumped up on his rush of adrenaline and swaying on his feet as he glared back at the knight.
"Just be ********' honest, Fritz, you wish you'd ********' known - you wish you'd known who the ******** I was so you could've ********' picked up the goddamn pieces and gone on pretending that your brother wasn't a goddamn homo like me." And he spat the words like venom, and then hardly knew why he answered, but the question was there and -
"I don't ********' know. More than a month, less than two." He spat at the ground. "Thanks for your concern, Fritz, really - but I'll be fine, " he would have to be, "So just ******** off already - ********' deal with your own s**t before you get wrapped up in mine!"
The blood had long since started seeping out the back of his flannel, making it shine and stick to the skin beneath.

The thought of this man being his ally was one of the most aggravating and obnoxious facts that could have possibly existed. Fritz stared daggers down at Hitch, hating the fact that he was even there in the first place, trying to push aside the words that were being spat at him.
He couldn't quite get past them. They sank into him like needles in his skin, and Fritz's expression grew darker and darker.
"Don't ******** pretend like you know anything about me," Fritz snapped, blood boiling, and he took a step towards Hitch, forgetting the fact that the man was already injured as hell. "You have no idea what I would have done or wouldn't have done, you arrogant, ridiculous b*****d."
A derisive snort escaped him. "You're still new here - still just naive. Well, let me tell you something, Hitch. I've been a knight for almost five years, so if there's anything I do know, it's what the bloody hell I'm doing, clearly something you don't."
He shook his head dismissively.
"I was going to offer you help getting where you needed, but I doubt you'll want it."

Anger was something Hitch was very much comfortable with - injured or not, he puffed up when Fritz took a step towards him, a familiar fire flaring up in his eyes. His hands were shaking. "Why shouldn't I? You did the same ******** thing to me dickhead, " he roared back, "You wanna ********' lecture me on arrogance! - ******** you, alright?! ******** you!"
He had every right. Fritz had every damn right to call him on his arrogance and deep down, Hitch knew that. He knew he'd almost died and it'd rattled him so much more than he was letting on. His stance was aggressive in spite of everything, eyes blazing yes, but there was a layer of barely obscured pain and lingering fear just beneath.
"Five years an' you ******** still haven't done jack s**t for this city! An' you call me naive!" Five years. Longer than even Thraen. So long, a daunting, disturbingly high number. For better or worse, even if he knew he shouldn't have, even if part of him knew how much he'd regret it later, Hitch held his head high and sneered. "I don't need your ********' help - so don't even ********' bother troublin' yourself next time. Go deal with your own s**t first you arrogant piece of crap."
He turned away again and began walking - slowly, but still, with his head held high. "I'll ********' tell Tolli you said hi!" he bit back sarcastically, one last barb because he ******** could.
