Aconan had mainly been hanging out near the 'simple' end of the food table - whilst there was plenty of interesting and high-quality items available, there was also an area set aside with plainer things, perhaps in recognition of the fact that some trolls were more well, feral, than others. Aconan didn't like to think of herself as feral, but the point was she did rather fit that description - especially today. Knowing she had been invited to the army base, Aconan had made sure that she seemed as tough as possible - which meant (to her) sticking a plaster over the cut on her face (no visible wounds), wearing as clean and as prim clothing as possible (so a tank top with her sign on she didn't usually wear because you know, Busthind mountain - /cold/ and not the weather for tanktops unless you had a jacket on, then a pair of cargo shorts which admittedly had seen more wear on account of Aconan liked shorts, especially shorts with pockets - and oh! Her nice boots in blood-colour-green. They did stand out a little compared to her normal, plainer boots, but they were perfectly appropriate to wear, so that was good!).
It didn't stop her from wearing her howlbeast tail though. Darnit she had stuffed and dyed that fake-howlbeast tail herself and she was /proud/ of it! Especially because you know, it was like Loupsus! Talking of the oversized quad-eared howlbeast, he was hovering nearby his charge, ready to snarl at any (lowblooded) troll who looked at her funny. This was their first big trip out to the city, and darnit, he was not going to let HIS charge get hurt.
Still, the commotion at the other end garnered her attention for a second - if she were a howlbeast, her ears would have pricked. As she wasn't, it was more a subtle slide of the eyes towards the commotion. But she wouldn't intervene unless violence broke out - and anyway, it seemed someone else was already intervening. A quiet sigh escaped the young troll as she took another piece of (DELICIOUS) salted meat.

XXXXXChiara Moteku The teal blood had a point, here Chiara was, in a room full of trolls, and she was busy nudging Eridia into a bickerment. This was not how she should be dealing with this situation. Chiara sighed, she was still such a child, so ready to give into impulses and excitement. "Yeah, hey, how about you come join us and we do some introduction games." Chiara smiled at the new troll. It was time to play friends, get everyone involved, and maybe unearth some secrets; who knows!
Chiara pondered a bit, "How about... Fact or Fiction. Choose a troll and they tell us three things, 2 truths, and one lie. We get to guess on which one is the lie." She clapped her friend Eridia on the back, "Come on buddy! Give it a shot!" While the purpleblood pondered her facts Chiara wiggled over to the yellowblood that sat a bit away, "get ready, okay?" Chiara gave the troll a wink.
Hopefully this will get us all talking and getting along

so many quotes! Hope i dident miss too many trolls :X
She rolled her eyes at the tealblood and tried hard not to mimic her. Eridia was a highblood, and shouldn't get easily pissed by the common folks. "There is such thing as food imports my friend." She stood up and her eyes met with Hemera's. "These aren't commoners dishes ya know? They are prepared at a specific temperature and manner, so different tastes is unlikely with recognize dishes such as these." She 'helped' the other fix her glasses by pushing the frames up to the bridge of her sniffnode.
"But," She sat down on her seat next to Chiara with her cocky smile. That was an excellent choice. "I guess we can have some fun! Two truths and a lie is my faaaavorite game!" She twitched as the other clapped her back. She really wanted her to go first didn't she? No matter.
"OK!" She clasped her hands. "I..
1- always hide on bushes. 2- am four sweeps old. 3- have never read an entire novel."

Psykgi Mentha
Psykgi felt apologetic towards the tealblood, just a little. She had, purely by accident, thrown the poor soul into a rather interesting encounter and her reactions were interesting. Deflection, protection, and assistance; Psy would have expected her to have stayed out of the way, considering she had a lower blooded friend and her not-particularly-pugnacious demeanor. Which made Psykgi all the more intrigued - was it because she was in the middle range of the hemospectrum, or simply out of a desire to not have conflict? They were not mutually exclusive motives. Or perhaps she felt responsible for Psykgi, having invited her to sit with her?
Either way, Psykgi did like talking about her hair. ”Oh! I mostly do it myself, but sometimes I treat myself a little and actually go to a salon. Theres this great one in New Hemisect with really nice dyes... Stays in wonderfully well and doesn't mess with my lusus' pheromones.”
She took advantage of Hemera's distractiona nd Chiara's reprieve to eat one... or two... quite tasty morsels from her plate before setting it aside. This game looked like good interesting fun, and Psy was actually a little tired of the food game anyway. She would have kept it going just to see how far she could push the highblood, but – though she did cook and was pretty good at it – it was just not her thing.
”I'll guess.” said Psykgi, smirking slyly. ”I'm thinking that you're far too classy to hide in bushes.” It was a little snide. The real reason, of course, was because all those branches and leaves would do such a number on a dress, and no fashionable highblood would risk such damage, especially in the unfortunate places such damage could happen... or would they?
She froze up a bit at this stranger touching her. Talk about being politely condescending. The gesture left her mouth in a thin line. "Perhaps I assumed you would catch onto my thought process without me explaining. I apologize." Hemera said, hesitating about sitting down. Afryse was still out of the scene. She didn't want to abandon him, but at the same time, exposing the boy to this lot could be catastrophic between his nerves and his mouth. "There is a chocolatier in Four Fronds with excellent truffles, and some flavors are only denoted by a small drizzle of icing. Beige versus ivory. Ivory versus white. Some not at all. Some of the food here could very well follow that route. Culinary art is fascinating that way, considering the spectrum of differences between obvious and subtle. Especially with the finer things." And then there was the game they were playing. Yes, a distraction. Always good. Anything to keep trolls from yelling in public. "I think it's impossible to believe you hide in the bushes," she commented with a raise of her eyebrows. "I think few trolls would willingly choose that as a pastime." Even Hemera herself, who spent plenty of time in the rugged mountains, would rather avoid getting caught on branches.
However, Psykgi was providing the most interesting, non-threatening conversation at this point. Besides Chiara's earlier comment, maybe, but Mera still was not sure how to gauge that one. Hemera was relieved to have this other topic to talk about. "Hair dye can affect a lusus's pheromones? Fascinating. What sort of lusus do you have that could cause that sort of issue? How does it manifest?"

XXXXXChiara Moteku Chiara raised an eyebrow at Eridia's 3 "facts". "I agree with these two, i cant possibly see you ever hiding in a bush. But really Eridia, if i assume number one is in fact the lie, then i need to bring this up. Have you REALLY never read an entire book?" It almost seemed like she was dooming herself, to really admit to never reading an entire book. Chiara secretly hoped that number 3 was the lie. Her opinion of Eridia decreased.
"Pheromones are the only thing keeping our lusus's from eating us where we stand." Chiara remarked to the other two. "You don't seriously think these beasts care about us do you? Its all just hormones and the like." Chiara could not stand a troll that actually believed their guardian "loved" them. It was all just a system to keep young wigglers alive until they matured.
Cheating at her favorite game made things interesting. Eridia gave two lies and one truth and never expected Chiara's reaction. Even if she hadn't cheated, how could they expect a 3 sweep old to read long and complicated novels? Short stories, Troll Dr. Seuss books... sure! But a novel? Heck Lovedad never allowed her touch any of those unless the book in question was a classic, and those still had complicated vocabulary. The child was only allowed to read things within her age range. She couldn't resist leaving some seeds of doubt on the blueblood and gave her a sly smile. Eridia bit her lower lip, which slightly quivered. No I can't laugh! RESIST! The others picked the truth as expected. Who would think a troll of her lineage would do so? Of course the branches got in her hair and dress but she was accustomed to it. Not to mention observing someone at plain sight was hard for her and boring. Eridia never minded the dirt, she wasn't a just a delicate princess, she was something else.
"So!" She clasped her hands. "Which one y'all agree is the lieeee? Number one, number two, or number three?"

Chiara was just about to answer Eridia when she noticed the sudden silence in the crowd, expanding slowly from one of the entrances into the main base itself.
Quote:
Turning, you could see a short seadweller, one hand on a hip, the other in the air, gathering attention simply by standing with it raised silently. It was a little hard to see their symbol from here, but it looked suspiciously like that of the queen, easily identifiable in itself, stamped as it was on every royally approved sign and placard on the planet. Behind, lounging in the shadows of the door itself was a taller figure, arms crossed, covered in a grey cowl, hood drawn over it's face. It seemed to be watching, and waiting.
As the remaining chatter in the courtyard drew to a close, and trolls began to peer out of the medical tents, the seadweller dropped their hand with a satisfied nod. "Yo!" The voice of the troll that you were almost certain was the queen was raised slightly, but the echo of the dusty canyon and base's walls meant she didn't have to strain to be heard. "Friends! Alternians! Countrytrolls. Lend me your fists! We've got a nest of gerbils that needs exterminating - yeah, right in our very midst. These are the same trolls who tried to halt progress in the construction of Civisect through violence and destruction, the same dudes who broke into one of your own facilities here, causing millions of beetles of damage to this great, awesome, dusty city. These are the same trolls who, lack of evidence notwithstanding, we are pretty dang sure collaborated with the jadeblood who tried to literally destroy pretty much everything! With the plants! You know, the-" glancing around, she realized that not all her audience was exactly following her at this point. "- ahh forget it."
Waving a dismissive hand at the trolls in the crowd who's expressions were still blank or clouded with confusion, she gave a toss of her hair and continued on, getting to the point of her sudden appearance. "Basically, we got word right now where they are, all of them. And they ain't gonna be there forever. So I need troupes right now, right here, to take a stand and squash these trolls right now. You do well? You get what you deserve, and maybe a little more." A wink and a smile promised rewards aplenty to the more imaginative trolls in the crowd, while the pessimists might wonder what you would get if you didn't live up to the queen's expectations. "You a little wiggler with your momma in tow? If you can get rid of these pests for me - and for everyone - then I don't care how many sweeps old you are. I want volunteers here, and now, to make a name for themselves and impress me." Her eyes gleamed, and she snapped the fingers of the hand not resting on her hip, pointing to the ground in front of her. "Line up, give your name, follow the orders of my friend here. If you do good, this will be the start of your new life."
Chiara turned to the group of trolls. "Guess its time to go. See you guys out in the action!" The blueblood grinned her usual grin and went to go stand in line.
Psykgi was about to press Eridia for the lie amidst the truths, when all fell silent. She turned to the podium – was the the queen?! It was the queen! Gog! Wow! Amazing... though, Psykgi had thought she'd be bigger. Ahhh, what she wouldn't give to be able to talk to the queen, to get a glimpse inside that probably fascinating mind. Seadwellers were fascinating anyway, being waterlogged as they were, but the highest blooded troll in all the land...
Psykgi would kill for that oppurtunity.
But not yet, as her lusus softly reminded her... not yet. Someday they would have the prestige, contacts, and connections to grant her access to the queen. But not now. Not yet.
Still, Psykgi watched her hungrily as she ended her speech.
Go and volunteer, her lusus urged eagerly, squeaking in her sponge clots softly, go and volunteer. This is an oppurtunity. Psykgi should take it. Yes. Yes she should.
”Okay.” Psykgi murmured, before turning back to the trolls she was interacting with with a smile. Sure, she had been lured here under false pretences, and she wished the game could have gone on longer, but well, what could you do? ”Well, goodness. We'll have to convene some other time and finish this game, won't we! I have to go – I need to stock up on medkits, you know? Goodness, I don't want there to be a huge line for them before I hold it up, haha!” yes – she hadn't seen Leeroi yet, but now that there was the promise of a fight, she was sure to see him, and he was sure to need patching up, and others besides.
She gave Hemera an apologetic smile. ”Sorry we didn't talk more, and thanks for saving me a seat! If you're ever in Civisect, give me a call, alright? I'll make it up to ya!” she laughed and, with a little bit of a skip – perhaps – extricated herself from the group. ”See you all out there!”

{{Finishing Eri's involvement here}}
Hearing the queen's speech, Eridia's eyes were instantly filled with glee. Finally a chance to prove herself worthy-er of her blood rank! She pictured herself, charging into battle... That all seemed so surreal! She wanted to be a part of this, hell she did! The game could wait, and the others could hear her answer afterwards... if they didn't die of course.
"Sign me up for this adventure!" She said, trotting down to offer her help and stand impatiently in line.
