Vlad growled and hung up the phone Kai looked at the man that he was going to stay with for the week. Without really thinking he gave the man a hug just needing the comfort of contact. "Thank you, no one ever stood up to my father, but my mother. He is more concerned that the vampires that are around would get out of control so he keeps an eye on them to be sure that hunters don't need to get involved." He looked away and moved back. "Im sorry about having to do this for me. Maybe I can do something for you?"

"Maybe so, but he is my father and I can see he is worried about me. Would you behave any differently if this had happened to your son?" He asked before he looked down. "I can teach you how to cook, maybe we can start with something easy after dinner?" He asked before he looked back at Derrick. "We could go for a swim as well, only if you would like to though."

((yup XD poor poor vampire XD. my baby Kai decided to lay on my chest for a majority of the day, and she had the entire room to lay down on including my bed! but nope, mommy's chest was where she wanted to be.))

"Really? You have never been in the lake?" He asked surprised. Maybe Derrick didn't like to swim or something. It was possible after all. Giving a small nod, he followed after the man to see the room he would be sleeping in. "I should let you know, Im not that used to being up or out during the day. Part of my vampire genetics I guess. The sun bothers me if Im outside for too long so I tend to sleep during the day." He certainly hoped that wouldn't put the man off.

(hehe im just happy she only weighs 5 pounds. She is the size of a small cat right now so she can get away with it. lol))

Kai looked around the room for a moment. So, Alvin had been to some interesting places. While the room wasn't like his own, it was nice to see what a regular person lived like. "This is wonderful, thank you Derrick. You have already done so much for me, I couldn't possibly ask for more." He said nodding as he was told where Derrick would generally be.

Suddenly being in the room, Kai started to realize just how tired he was and hungry. He felt his small fangs grow and put a hand on his stomach for a moment. Yes, Derrick said that he could bite him, but somehow it didn't feel right. He had never bitten a person besides his parents before. Would it be the same or different? He could smell the blood that was in the man's veins and hear the heartbeat. It seemed that for the first time in his life, the blood of someone was actually calling to him.

Kai instinctively took Derrick's arm when the man started to ruffle his hair his fangs showing as he pulled the older man close using a bit of his unnatural strength to keep the other close. He opened his mouth able to mumble "sorry" before he bit into Derrick tasting the others blood. Kai gave a soft moan enjoying the taste. After a few minutes he let the other go and looked down. "I'm so sorry, I don't know what came over me. You... I've never bitten anyone else before you."

Kai saw that Derrick covered the bite mark and figured it was for two reasons. One so the cook couldn't see that there was a vampire and two it was probably embarassing to show the marks. Kai nodded licking the remaining blood off his lips his fangs reteacting once again. "I'm feeling much better. I didn't hurt you did I?" He asked looking concerned. The grip and the bite probably weren't that pleasant.
