Nightmare: Arden
Arden slowed down to a meandering jog, feeling the burn in his knees and thighs. He leaned over as he evened out his breath, tail flicking behind him. He wasn't exactly impressed with himself for he usually tried to keep in shape, but in his defense, he focused more on his natural strength than endurance. Stretching out his short wings to the max, the brunet slowly began to work out his kinks. Ow. Maybe he needed to start running more often. His peers all seemed to have mixed results, but he knew that excelling in sports was always an endearing thing. Leaning back to his full height, he planted his hands on his hips as he began to walk, chewing the inside of his cheek. Maybe he would begin his running tomorrow night.

The freshling demon listened to Sef talk about jumping rope. That was certainly something she could do! Pepper got a jump rope from the pile and moved to a free space. She looked around and made sure she had enough room to jump without hitting anyone and then began to jump. The first few tries didn't work out so well, she managed to tangle the rope on her tail. Softly frowning, she tried tucking her tail in closer and jumping like that. It wasn't the most comfortable, but she could do it.
With the awkward position, she kept her pace kind of slow. Another nightmare had already tripped herself up and fallen over and Pepper didn't want to do the same. It looked like it hurt! Thankfully the teacher had fixed them up pretty quickly.
After awhile of jumping on her own, Pepper thought that it would be more fun to jump in a big group. Maybe some of her classmates would like to try it? When she looked around though, there weren't very many who looked like they would go for something like that. Pouting, she jumped by herself a bit longer before stopping and putting the rope away. That wasn't so bad.

Oooh, jump rope! Andromeda was excited about this. They picked up one of the single-person ropes and then found a good spot to jump where they wouldn't bump into anyone. Then, they attempted to follow Persephone's example...
It worked a few times, but then their wings kept getting caught on the rope. Eventually they became so tangled they couldn't continue with it anymore. Oh boy...
Once Persephone was done helping the other Freshling who fell down, Andromeda shuffled over, wings still tangled, and looked up at her. "Um... can... can you help me untangle my wings please??"

Sef had just gotten the little hybrid girl settled when she was confronted by a Fallen child. "Oh goddness, sit down sweetie." she said indicating a spot on the bleachers, then sat down behind them and carefully extracted the rope from their wings. "Okay, honey, I think that'll do it." she handed the rope back to them. "Give them a stretch and then you can go back to playing~."

Tarin frowned at the rope. Well she supposed she saw the value of jumping a rope, it could be applied to jumping over other things.
She took a deep breath and started to skip. It was pretty easy but it wasn't much fun by herself. Maybe she could organize the others into doing a group jump. That sounded like way more fun. Satisfied with her decision she went around to gather up other kids to start a big jump rope game.

Ella loved P.E! It was the easiest class for her, honestly. She was meant for sports! She lived for it! So, when the jump ropes were set down and she was told to jump she practically bolted. She was determined to get an A+ in this class!
And so, the tiny little hybrid grabbed the rope and began jumping. 5. 10. 20. 35. 60. 70. 87! Eventually it came time to stop, mostly because she was winded! She had put her all into that activity, and now she needed a break! Exhaling loudly, the little hybrid flopped on the sidelines and grinned up at her teacher, proud of her effort.

Maria didn't particularly like P.E, either. It wasn't that she disliked it, but more that it was so loud. So many shouts and squeaks. Too much fierce competing. It just didn't settle with the passive hybrid. Yet, she also didn't mind the more solo activities, like jump rope! Something to mellow out with and zone in on her being. Mediate, even.
And so, she took the jump rope, closing her eyes as she jumped and listening only to the sound of her breathing. Eventually, she stumbled, having been distracted by a loud exhale from the hybrid behind her. Content with her jumps, she set the rope down and settled by the water fountain, petting her wings.

Neptune stared at the word search puzzle in front of him with a sense of dread... words... he was really bad with words... At least the correct spelling was on the sheet. He sighed, ears drooping as he got to work...
In the end he was the last one to finish, he just hoped Miss Persephone would be able to read it... he wasn't very good at holding pencils still. He passed in the paper, then scurried out quickly.

Jump rope? Awwww yeah! Quilo had wanted to play jump rope ever since the first time he'd seen it! It always looked like so much fun, and it looked so easy, too. And the rhymes, the rhymes were fun, too! Even if they always had to do with kissing people or something. Did Persephone know any rhymes? He hoped so. Maybe she'd teach them tomorrow.
====
He got all the way to sixty before he finally tripped. He'd been right--this was loads of fun! He sat down next to Ella and watched the other students jump rope. "How many did you get?" he asked.

Melisara couldn't say she'd ever expected to see a word search puzzle in PE--or any puzzle at all. One on a worksheet even less so! Nonetheless, she knuckled down to work, armed with a purple highlighter and a pen. This should be easy, with her regular search pattern dusted off from when she'd used it as a child...
When the work was finally complete, she turned it in with the usual rush of students who finish halfway between first and last.

The PE clothes made Batholith feel dorkier than he'd ever felt in his entire life--even the regular class uniform wasn't this dumb looking--and definitely not this dumb feeling. But he could at least see the merit of it--sweat stank to Above and back, and no one wanted to sit around in a room full of sweaty teenagers.
Running was something his old "friends" would have said he was good at. He would disagree, for a variety of reasons. But this was his first day, and he had to make good impressions somehow. With a few quick stretches and another few unnecessary ones for luck, he set off at a trot around the track.
He pointedly did not run. Running would get him winded, and he didn't like being winded. Besides, it would mess up his hair and, yes, he was still very sensitive about his hair, thank you very much.

Jumping rope! That sounded like fun, and Persephone made it look like fun as well! Honestly she had never tried doing it before. though she had seen other kids playing with them outside. She loved running around though and being active, so it couldn't be that hard right?
With little hesitation she picked up one of the jump ropes, a smaller one since she was considerable small for her age. Than she started skipping. The first time went well, but oh, her tail sort of caught the rope on the way around, so she tried holding it lower and closer to herself as she went for the second and third jump. On her forth try however, the rope caught on her tail and she fell face first in front of her.
"Oww...." She complained and rubbed at her poor little nose. It was bleeding, but it sure did stin. The tears welled up in her eyes despite her telling them not to. She didn't want to look like a crybaby, but it hurt!

Foras was always up for trying something new! His classes always gave him an opportunity to do such things and today was no exception! When Persephone showed them how to jump rope he was literally bouncing with excitement, that looked like so much fun! Foras was no wary when it came to physical activity, though some might assume he was since he always seemed to be sitting around and drawing somewhere.
He picked up a rope and tested it out first, he had to worry about his wings and his tail as he jumped. He jumped slowly for about the first ten jumps and than started to ramp the speed up over time as he jumped. He got all the way up to 67 before he had to stop because he was tired.
Jumping rope was hard work! But it was fun. He sat down to catch his breathe, than maybe he'd get up and play some more!

Conan liked to think he was pretty physically fit! After all he loved to dance and had to have plenty of energy for his performances on stage. He was dressed in his PE clothes, which were nice and cool. Maybe that helped to make him feel pretty confident. Laps would be easy! He could do them no problem, and he'd beat his sisters while he was at it.
He dashed off the second they were given the signal to go. However, he had really started out too fast and continued too fast. By the time he neared the end of the first lap he was exhausted. Usually he'd pace himself in his dancing, but he'd gotten a little too...well. He blamed his competitive streak with his sister for this one!
He had to sit down and rest! Sorry teach, he'd pushed himself this time!

She had to give Conan credit for his speed - but this was laps, not sprints. That said, she eased over when he blew past her, shaking her head and trying to keep her breathing steady as she moved, pumping her arms and trying to keep her wings as tucked in tight as she could to cut down on resistance. Running with wings was HARD. At least her tail moved properly when she ran, helping her maintain balance - but her wings were of NO help what so ever. Still, When Conan went to go sit after one lap she shook her head again. She'd talk to him about pacing later. She kept it up, keeping her breathing steady and rhythmic until she finished the sixth lap, then she slowed up, panting a bit as she raised her arms above her head. Ugh... She was all sweaty now. She was so ready to hit the showers... She plucked at her athletic wear and tried to fan herself with her top, ugh... yes, shower was a MUST.
