Something was between them, growing from a curious interest to a sparkling, electric connection that spiked up and down Tolliver's arms, settled deep within his chest and warmed outwards over across his entire body. Getting enough of Hitch seemed almost impossible; Tolliver wanted to drown in him, breathe him in, feel the imprint of a kiss against his lips.

Hitch had shifted upwards, and Tolliver's eyes fluttered half-lidded again at the kiss to his jaw, the n** to his neck, words that made his stomach clench, his chest tighten simply by hearing them from that rasping, exhausted voice of Hitch's. Tolliver smoothed his hands slowly, tentatively, up and down Hitch's arms, brushing over his strong shoulders and then moving back down to rest just above his elbows. It was a testament to just how drunk on his emotions he was right now; the shyness was still there, but the hesitation had dissipated, because the gestures seemed almost unconscious in nature, as though Tolliver was moving of his own accord.

He tilted his head toward the fingers on his cheek, eyes falling shut as he nuzzled against Hitch's hand. Tolliver felt his face burn with the praise, and he squirmed a little, swallowing hard. It was easy to just say the words - at least in Hitch's case, but Tolliver preferred the demonstrations, the reminders that he was wanted, craved, needed, even.

Even if it didn't last forever.

Keep looking at me with those eyes.

Keep talking to me with those lips.

Tolliver's hands slipped up to the back of Hitch's neck, tangling in the wet strands of hair.

"Not weird," he murmured dazedly. "You look good...all the time." His face burned, but he was so tired and out of his mind with emotions that he couldn't think straight enough to focus properly still. "I like when you....see me like this."

He nuzzled Hitch's neck with his nose.

"And yes...I do. Fritz is an artist."

An afterthought, irrelevant. He didn't want to talk about Fritz. His voice softened, grew shy again.

"...will you kiss me again? Please?"

Hitch shut his eyes and relished the smoothness of Tolliver's hands traveling up and down his arms, and he never even registered the soft, contented sigh that escaped him. This wouldn't be the last time, he reminded himself, because he really had almost forgotten. He didn't know how long it would last, no - but for now, it was something he could count on. Look forward to. A thrill of excitement laced through him at the thought, at knowing this wouldn't be the last time those hands caressed his arms.

So again, the question came to him, whether he wanted it to or not: what did he call Tolliver in his own head? Could he really get label someone 'friend' after they'd done all the things they'd done? - and knowing he felt the way he did? Was 'lover' still too strong a word? Was it one he was willing to use? Partner? Companion?

When Tolliver tilted his head into the touch at his cheek, blushing and squirming, and Hitch's stomach pulled in that frighteningly addictive way, he was more torn than ever. There just wasn't a single ******** word in his head to describe what this was, and it was kind of ******** scary. It was like a roller coaster, though. ******** yeah it was scary. Didn't mean you didn't stay on the ride.

Hitch practically purred when those fingers curled into the hair at the back of his neck, eyes half-lidded again... but the compliment took him by surprise. "Me? ********, no." He'd only been so blunt because he'd been caught off guard. But then it was there, and the realization that he'd said anything at all hit him like a splash of cold water to the face. In the span of micro-seconds, his eyes widened, then relaxed, a low peal of laughter escaping him as he kissed whatever skin he could reach. "I mean, uh, 'cause, you - you're the beautiful one, " and he hoped to whoever the ******** was listening that Tolliver didn't ******** ask. How ******** embarrassing was that?

Fritz. His guilt grew heavier, and he felt stupid for saying the art thing at all; of course it'd make him think of his twin. Irrationally, stupidly, some part of him was already growing leery of the mysterious brother he hadn't met. Just the way Tolliver talked about him, the look he got in his eyes --

Not the time. He smiled warmly at Tolliver as he eased up just a little more. "You don't gotta ask me twice, " he rumbled, leaning in to kiss him with renewed vigor and determination. Forget Fritz. ******** Fritz. Hitch's hands, too, always found a way to wander as he kissed him; for instance, sliding one of them down his side, along his hip, then back up over his stomach and chest. Look at you. Look what you did to me.

He was not thinking about what this would mean, where it should go from here, what he probably should be thinking about. Tolliver pushed all of those into a little box, pushed them aside for later, because right now was simple warmth and pleasure and heat; right now was not anxiety-riddled Tolliver, or at least, he was trying very hard not to let it be.

Tolliver opened his eyes a little, expression growing bemused as he lifted a hand, fingers tracing along Hitch's jaw, skin tingling from the kisses to it. "Yes, you," he said, sounding confused that Hitch did not see this - and he was, because it was just so glaringly obvious to Tolliver, who could see the man directly in front of him. "You're...very appealing."

His face was crimson; Tolliver was still tired and extremely dazed, and maybe that was why he was talking more than usual. And why he was reacting so strongly to being called "beautiful." "Very attractive," he mumbled.

Fritz would again be a conversation for The Future, but Tolliver didn't want to focus on that. Instead he just slid his arms around Hitch's neck again, accepting the offered kiss and meeting it with one of his own, letting Hitch dictate the speed and intensity, but growing a little bolder, enough to deepen it after a few seconds.

The wandering hands sent fresh shivers up and down him. Tolliver could have stayed like this all day, simply basking in the adoring touches and the exploring kisses and the sheer warmth that stemmed from both. Hitch was quite capable of showing and not telling.

A soft whine eased from his lips, muffled against Hitch's.

"I like doing this," Tolliver mumbled, eyes fluttering shut. He was still holding tightly to Hitch, pressed close. His lips grazed Hitch's ear as he snuggled closer. "I like....kissing you. And being with you. Not just..." His face inflamed. "Not just...the....you know....sex....aspect."

He kissed a very tiny, shy kiss to Hitch's ear. "...but all of it."

The added praise made him fidget, once, his gaze darting from side to side - but he smirked playfully regardless. "I only look better 'cause I glow when I'm near you, " and that was the lamest possible line in the book, but he was trying to get him flustered enough to move on. Not that it wasn't totally true, just... wow it was lame.

Hitch was not a quiet kisser; hell, if Tolliver had learned anything by now, it was he wasn't a quiet anything. He hummed, he growled, he purred, he moaned. Like now, into the kiss, he hummed contently, a hand on Tolliver's chin to tilt it back, making it easier to deepen it.

"I could - " I could live with myself for this. No. There was nothing appealing in a statement like that. Tolliver would either assume the worst, or he'd ask questions; Hitch didn't want to go down that road. Especially not now. Then, something unexpected: he shivered as those lips brushed his ear, a jolt of that electricity lacing through him, and the sound he made - <********>. "Mm, Tolli - " he gasped, marveling at the new sensation, blushing deep red and fidgeting. "<********>, " he breathed again out loud, trying to focus on what Tolliver was saying instead of what he'd inadvertently done.

"I like it too, " he finally said once he trusted his voice enough to carry the words, "This. You. All of it." He slid a hand up into Tolliver's hair, twirling it idly between his fingers. "I don't want it to stop. Like, ********, " he mumbled, almost irritably, "If I wasn't a ********' sweaty pile of sweat puddles, I don't think you could ********' pay me to move babe."

In spite of its lameness, the sentiment made Tolliver blush fiercely, and he squirmed a little, glancing away from Hitch, trying to think of something to say to that - but nothing came to mind except a low, mumbled, "...pretty sure that's not true."

Unlike Hitch, Tolliver was quiet. Everything he did was shy, awkward, hesitant, restrained; the direct opposite of Hitch, but it somehow made him feel more wanted hearing all of the sounds Hitch made. The pleased hum made his stomach flutter pleasantly, and he cuddled close, Tolliver's face burrowed into Hitch's hair. He heard the gasp, heard the breathy oath, and felt the heat from Hitch's face against his own, and Tolliver was steadily learning that he could have a say in Hitch's reactions, whether purposefully or not. Whether he was actually brave enough to do anything about them - well, that was a different story, but still, it was both thrilling and frightening to know that he could cause them in the first place.

Tolliver was quiet for a few moments, letting the sensations of Hitch's fingers in his hair wash over him, his voice easing into his chest. He had no desire to move, no desire for any of this to stop, and he really should be thinking about something other than the constant desire to hear himself being called babe or baby again, because it was making him feel incredibly wanted and desired.

It took a second for him to realize what Hitch had actually said - I like it too. This. You. All of it. - and Tolliver let out an inadvertent, soft gasp against Hitch's hair, muffled into the strands, face flushing terribly, and tried to think clearly, tried not to let the words get to his head, but they already were, and he didn't want to believe that they could be true because what if they weren't, what if he was just saying them to placate Tolliver -

His lips found the space just below Hitch's ear, and Tolliver closed his eyes, breathing out a shaky breath.

"Then don't move," he mumbled, stomach twisting, chest constricting, and his arms were wrapped securely around Hitch's neck, holding him in place. His voice was soft, shy, not a demand, not quite pleading, but open in his desire to not be left alone just yet, a tentative offer. Tolliver was embarrassed by his neediness, but he was afraid the spell might be broken if Hitch left, in spite of him knowing they couldn't stay wrapped in each other's arms forever. Eventually they would need to get up, shower, eat, do things. "Don't move for a while. Just...stay here. With me. Please."

A little kiss was dropped to Hitch's warm cheek.

"For a few more minutes," Tolliver murmured. "Just...please be with me."

Hitch only laughed in response; it was funny, though. Whereas Tolliver felt more wanted for the sounds he inspired, Hitch got the same sensation from Tolliver's shy, soft energy. Tolliver reacted to him in all those soft subtle ways, from gasping and blushing to whining and looking at him with that need that made Hitch shiver and ache. - and what made it dangerous was he knew exactly what he was doing to the other man, and to say he was drunk off the power it gave him might be an understatement.

Not like he planned to use Tolliver or anything - it wasn't anything like that at all. He just - he wanted to keep making Tolliver feel good, and he loved having the means to do it. Maybe he was being a little selfish - making Tolliver happy, he had realized, made him happy too - no, more than a little selfish - his mother's gaze from the walls - but he wasn't out to do any harm to Tolliver. No, ********, if anything, it was the opposite.

Hitch didn't struggle against Tolliver's embrace. His eyes widened, taken aback, his heart beating hard against his rib cage. But he was relaxed, at ease even as he lay flush against the other man, trying not to dwell too long on how damn right this felt. He'd run from things like this for so long, anything that might make him... anything that might give him away, to drive away the only person who'd ever really mattered before now.

"Okay, " and at first, that was the only answer he gave as he just savored it. The feeling of being close to someone. Of being relevant to someone, somewhere in the world. "Y'know, I - " It was a familiar struggle, whether to say it or not. But this was Tolliver after all, and, "I feel like, I mean... y'know what I like about you?" There was a list, really, and it was sort of a ******** sad list because it was already way longer than it should have been. But this was an important one. He felt like maybe Tolliver should know it.

"You don't, like... you don't ********' sit there with that look on your face. Like, wow, look at this sad a** sap over here, lemme go make him feel better." Hitch tried to think of a better way to say it, pursing his lips as he tried to find the right words. He wasn't exactly a mother ******** poet, that's what singers were for.

"Like when you talked down that a*****e in the store - ********, anyone else tried that an' I probably would've kicked their a**, because I don't - " Need anyone feeling sorry for him. " - I don't know, you didn't look down on me or anythin'. I feel like... I don't know." He shrugged his shoulders as much as he could, licking his lips and half-smiling. "People 'help' other people havin' a hard time because they wanna feel better about themselves. That's just how it is. - but I think - you're different, an' I like that. - I liked that from the start. Y'know what I mean?"

It made talking to him easier, even if it still wasn't easy.

The laugh made his ears turn pink with pleasure, the simple okay making Tolliver ease into a state of warmth and pleasure and all sorts of other things. He could not have imagined letting go of this warmth anytime soon, in spite of knowing he would have to, sooner or later. But Tolliver just wanted to curl up like this with Hitch, feel the constant reassurance of his broad arms around him, the sound of his voice lulling him to a state of happiness.

The question startled him - and sent a fresh wave of heat over him, because there was that word again, "like." You know what I like about you? Tolliver blinked, his stomach twisting, and he found himself desperately clinging to that single word, that single phrase.

You know what I like about you?

Everything, Tolliver thought dizzily. I like everything about you, from the sound of your voice, to the whispers in my ear, to the touch of your hands, to the feel of your body against mine. I like it all.

It was pathetic, greedy even. Tolliver forced himself to listen, to not get distracted by his almost overwhelming feelings, and he was so very grateful that he did, because what Hitch was saying was terrifyingly wonderful. Every word sent shivers up and down his spine, Tolliver's eyes widening, and his cheeks burned with embarrassment; he almost longed to put his arms over his face again.

"That...that was nothing," he stammered, throat feeling dry. Tolliver licked his own lips, a breath shuddering out of him, not wanting to mention the fact that he'd been scared of that man in the store, running on pure instinct to confront him because he'd seen that the man threatened was Hitch. "I just...I wanted to..help. I've never - I've never pitied you, I like y - "

He stopped, drew in a ragged gasp for air, and squeezed his eyes shut. Hitch had just spent time - quite some time - showing him just how much he wanted Tolliver, and yet some small niggling feeling in the back of Tolliver's head kept telling him it was all just a lie, some sort of facade that he would eventually come to the end.

Hitch had also proved just how much he didn't care about Tolliver's scars, even if Tolliver himself still struggled with them.

He couldn't seem to stop touching Hitch. His arms had loosened so that Tolliver could slide his hands up and down his strong arms, flutter over his neck and shoulders, briefly brush over his cheeks, and then ebb slowly downward, to smooth over his chest. Tolliver was at a loss for words, swallowing sharply, biting his lower lip again.

"I wanted to find you," he blurted out, and embarrassment flooded his face, hot and shameful. "I - I wanted to - to see you again, after...after that night, on New Year's, but I didn't know anything about where to find you, so - so I couldn't - " He was not going to mention the pangs of disappointment and disgust in himself for getting his hopes up. "I, um, but I...I wanted to, because I never thought of you as...as sad, or as an a**, or someone to - someone beneath me, just...just someone that I - that I hoped I could maybe, that I could see again, talk to -"

He was blushing furiously. Tolliver turned his face away.

Never mind how flustered and tongue-tied he'd gotten trying to say his piece; it was impossible for Hitch not to at least half-smile while Tolliver got all worked up and flustered over what he'd said. The reaction was expected, but no less endearing for it.

He knew Tolliver had never pitied him - and after this, there was some small part of him, some nagging trace of optimism, that hoped, maybe even believed there was a chance he never would. Even that tiny sliver of hope was more than Hitch ever expected to glean from a single person. And that was the whole point.

The prolonged silence, filled with touches instead of words, suited Hitch just fine. He sighed and allowed his eyes to slide shut, humming again to show his approval of those wandering hands. So fleeting, yes, but also so deliberate. Every touch made Hitch hungry for more, and he swayed, tilting towards those fluttering hands on his cheeks, sighing in a contented way as they wandered over his chest.

Then, he got a surprise - a confession - and Hitch's eyes snapped open, wide with surprise. "You did?" he blurted out with no thought to his naturally rough tone. "Really? - you wanted to?" Tolliver hadn't, but that didn't matter. It didn't matter nearly as much as the thought, the sentiment, that went into what he'd just said.

Then, abruptly, Hitch was there, catching Tolliver's cheek in his hand to coax him back, wanting to look him in the eye before he kissed him. (And maybe spur on some more of that deliciously adorable blushing.) When he pulled back, he was grinning, an almost embarrassed look on his face. "Me too. I mean - I ********' wanted to find you, but - I didn't even know who the ******** to ask. If you hadn't shown up when you did -- "

He would probably never not be flustered when Hitch was around. The man had a terrible tendency to draw the deepest and rawest expressions out of Tolliver, pulling them free from a place he'd long buried deep. This was a side of him that no one had ever seen, words and feelings and touches that no one had witnessed, and somewhere inside of Tolliver secretly hoped that no one but Hitch ever would.

He couldn't think about that. He couldn't try and quell the fear that this was going to be either fleeting or permanent, because he was terrified of both - terrified that Hitch would eventually grow tired of him, and terrified that he didn't want that to happen.

Tolliver's teeth were digging into his lower lip, painfully so, and he squeezed his eyes shut and nodded, wondering if Hitch would find his confession desperate or pathetic. "I - I thought maybe - maybe you wanted to...to maybe talk to m - "

But a hand touched his cheek, warm and rough, and Tolliver automatically turned his head when urged, his own eyes flying open at the kiss. They fluttered shut a second later as he sank into it, lips and chest warm, fingers curling against the latter.

"You..." whispered Tolliver, face painted crimson. "You...found me - now, right?"

He couldn't seem to stop stuttering or speaking in sentences that were stuttered and littered with pauses, gasps, hesitations, or swallows. Tolliver was thoroughly embarrassed, but he lifted a hand, fingers shaking against the side of Hitch's face as Tolliver stroked them tenderly down his cheek.

"I'm - here now - I mean, we - we're here now," he murmured softly, eyes fluttering, not quite meeting Hitch's, because he was busy tracing the lines of Hitch's face with his gaze, sweeping over every part of his expression, his eyes, the curve of his lips, the shape of his jaw, wanting to memorize them for whenever things inevitably changed and Hitch grew bored of him. "R...right?"

Now. That single word was the essence of everything that they were, wasn't it? Now. They'd come back together out of the blue, been drawn together, and now a week later - they were this, wrapped up in his sad excuse for a bed, covered in sweat and saying s**t like this to each other. Hitch didn't want to think about what'd been before, or what he'd feel like when Tolliver left - short term and long term. He just wanted to think about those fingers he adored on his cheek, with Tolliver looking at him in a way he hadn't expected anyone to do - at least no one that mattered.

There was that shameful fluttering in the pit of his stomach again; but see, in the now, it didn't feel so bad. Shameful was attached as a force of habit, but he wasn't really ashamed of this at all. (He knew that made it worse. So much worse.)

"Yeah... " Hitch breathed out, staring at him through half-lidded eyes, that lazy, lopsided smile on his lips. "Now. We're here now, an' ... ******** me, " he grunted with a low laugh, tilting his face and nipping playfully at those fingers. "I am not ********' lettin' you walk off again." He meant it, too. Every inch of him meant it, and he knew the cost. But let's face it, they'd already long since passed that point of no return.

He was distracted by his memorizing, tracing lines with both his fingers and his eyes, sweeping them over Hitch's face with a sort of quiet need that didn't burst out of him like before, but settled deep within his stomach, his heart. Inevitably things would change; Hitch would decide Tolliver really was just as dull as he knew he was, but it was the here and now that Tolliver chose to focus on; the feel of Hitch's body against his, his warm lips pressing delicate kisses to his fingers, the low, rough sound of his voice - the way he looked at Tolliver, all heat and pleasure and affection -

Warmth flooded Tolliver's face at the nips to his hand, and he curled his fingers instinctively, the words burning through his veins. Slowly he reached them out and tenderly brushed them down the side of Hitch's face, over his cheek, beneath his eye, then up to his temple, carding though the salt and pepper hair.

"Then...then don't let me," Tolliver murmured, with more bravery than he felt, and he pressed his hand to the back of Hitch's neck, rose upwards just enough to press his lips to Hitch's and kiss him, warm and slow, taking his time to simply explore the feel of Hitch's mouth against his own. Tolliver would have been lying if he said these kisses weren't his favorite; he loved the soft, slow, sweet ministrations, the ones where everything seemed to slow down and melt together.

Quite some time later - Tolliver had lost track of time, again - he pulled back, dizzy and comfortable and feeling horribly, frighteningly safe in Hitch's arms, and like he never wanted to leave. He would have to; he knew he would, he would have to and it would be awful, but he wanted to linger as long as he could, take as much from Hitch as he could, greedily, selfishly.

"We should, um," he whispered, licking his lips, trying to get his head together again. He closed his eyes, exhaling a shuddering breath, words disjointed and a little off kilter as he dragged himself sluggishly back to coherency. "Get...up sometime. Eat. Get, um, dressed."

He made no move to move yet.

Hitch's eyes fluttered shut at the touch, and as those fingers slid through his hair he hummed softly, deeply, and shivered at Tolliver's words. He wouldn't, he thought to himself as he lost himself to that kiss, that surprisingly bold, warm, glorious kiss that made him feel like more than he was. Tolliver would walk away, eventually - but Hitch didn't want to face that inevitability. He wanted to hold on fast and tight to whatever this was, cling to it like it was his sole lifeline - it sort of was. Tolliver didn't know it, didn't have to know it, but -

Hitch didn't know how much time it'd been, but it'd been too fast - everything good just swept by too fast for him. He grunted when Tolliver pulled away, leaning forward a fraction of an inch like he just wanted to recapture those lips and dive back in.

But Tolliver was right, and Hitch sighed, leaning in to press his lips to his temple. "I guess you're right, " and he tried not to sound too dejected. A little dejected, yeah. He wanted Tolliver to know loud and clear he didn't want this ending. "********, I really need that shower... " He rolled off of Tolliver and slithered next to him instead, his legs hanging off the side of the mattress to make sure he didn't bump his leg or anything. In little ways, he tried to take care of him. "I wish you could just come in with me, but it's a goddamn shoebox, " and he flashed a smile that was apologetic, but his eyes were hungry because <********> he wasn't kidding about dragging him in. "You mind if I jump in for a few minutes? - I don't take long - you can, uh - "

He cleared his throat and turned just a bit red. "Borrow one of my shirts, I mean, if you want - since you're stayin' over anyway, right?" God, what kind of ******** moron got flustered about offering someone a shirt?

He didn't want Hitch to move; he didn't want to lose the warmth that bled into him, taking him over body and heart, because he felt like if he moved now, he would never get it back again. Panic welled in his stomach, in spite of him being the one to suggest it, and Tolliver's fingers skated along Hitch's arms at the kiss to his temple, shaking slightly. The pressure and the heat eased off as Hitch moved, cool air breezing over him, and he reached for the sheets to belatedly cover himself, blushing furiously.

The hungry look in Hitch's eyes did not help Tolliver's anxiety, only increased it, and he swallowed hard, his throat dry.

"N - no, I don't mind," he said hoarsely, already missing Hitch and he hadn't even left yet. What the hell was wrong with him. Tolliver pushed himself up a little, hair mussed, face flushed, sheets tangled around his waist yet again, and dragged in a shaking breath. "You can go shower."

Hitch's red face and question in turn made Tolliver even more flustered. He pressed his lips together and gave a quick, wordless nod, fingers clutching the sheets as he knelt on the bed, resting back on one of his legs, the other partially stretched out.

"Um," he said, and looked away, anxiety fluttering like a bird in his stomach. When he spoke again, it was low, barely audible, and he wanted to say Hurry back so I can kiss you again, but what he said instead was, "I'll...I'll wait for you here," lashes partly lowered in embarrassment.

Hitch couldn't help but stare at Tolliver, especially with the way the sheets had pooled around his hips, looking so completely disheveled and - <********>, seriously? The simplest things, even something like that, got him so worked up. "Seriously, babe - if you don't wanna ********' starve, you gotta stop lookin' at me like that, " he meant for it to sound playful, but even if he was grinning, his tone was something lower and heavier. He licked his lips and leaned in to kiss him just once more - he kept saying that to himself, just one more - and slide his hand sensually through Tolliver's hair before ruffling it and pulling away to stand.

He stretched out with a low grunt, trying to ignore the surge of unwelcome cool air that washed over him and overcome the urge for just one more. Instead, he strode over to a laundry basket sitting beside a small table - there was an old dresser close by, but he mostly wore the same things over and over, so he usually just folded his s**t and left it in the basket for easier access. He pulled out a well-worn Pantera shirt and returned to Tolliver, placing it gently on his lap and broke his own promise not to kiss him again because seriously, just one more.

"I promise I'll be fast, Tolli, " he murmured to him once he pulled away, running his thumb over Tolliver's lower lip before flashing him a grin and walking off into the bathroom.

He opened his mouth to say something and then promptly closed it again, because once more, Hitch had rendered him simultaneously startled and flustered. Tolliver could have denied that he was looking at him in any such way, but he lost all desire to speak as Hitch kissed him again, Tolliver's eyes fluttering shut automatically, his fingers brushing across Hitch's jaw.

(He really...really liked being called babe or baby, something he hadn't known until he'd heard the nickname spoken in Hitch's low, growing voice.)

Tolliver's hand fell away from Hitch's face as he stood up, Tolliver himself biting his lip as he watched him pad over to the laundry. The shirt was dropped in his lap, and he felt both greedy and a little ashamed of himself for the next kiss, Tolliver's hands coming up to rest on either side of Hitch's face, leaning up into it.

This was getting ridiculous. He needed to not be so damn needy, so damn selfish and greedy, but it was hard with Hitch looking at him that way, thumb against his lip. Tolliver gave a wordless nod, and once Hitch was in the shower, he pulled the shirt on.

It felt partly to his thighs and no further, and it was soft and warm and it smelled of soap and of cigarettes. After a bit of (embarrassing) searching, he managed to locate his underwear and tugged that on as well, so at least he wasn't completely naked, but pants were hard to find, and eventually he gave up.

Tolliver slowly got to his feet, unsteady and wobbling, and padded around the room in the too-big shirt, feeling curious as he looked around, fingers dusting over the surfaces of things. Every now and then, he'd tug the shirt up to breathe in the scent of it again, an almost subconscious gesture while he waited for Hitch.
