"My expertise is we copy whatever looks cool in the fancy area." He mumbled while leading the way out of the warehouse, and into the big elaborate display room. Thankfully, bedrooms were first. He was less interested in furnishing a kitchen, after all. "See? They got mad skills, man. I'd of never thought of this s**t." Sure enough, large bins of Impulse buys were spotted here and there, usually with pillows and other small purchases.

The display rooms were way better than the warehouse area, and Chance found himself slowing down to stare in amazement and the sheer amount of stuff all around him. He ran his fingers over the top of a bed example, leaned to look at a set of wall hangings, and paused at a bin full of sheets.
"This is amazing," said Chance in awe, wandering over to a large tub of throw pillows. "Are these the kind of pillows we're looking for, or like, actual bed pillows?"

He snorted with laughter.
"Okay then," said Chance, glancing around with interest. "Which ones do you think I should get?"

"Get ones you think look good." Otto gave the man an irritated glance. "You do got like.. preferences right? I mean, some people like the colour orange, and some people prefer yellow. Y'know? Or just go with what looks hella comfy to lean on." He gave the room another glance. "Do you even got a favourite colour?" He already knew his favourite pattern. "This ain't rocket science. It's ' let's throw s**t I like into a room'."

"Yes, I have preferences," said Chance delicately, browsing around. "They're just a little odd sometimes." But Otto's rocket science comment had reminded him of space, and therefore the color blue, which was probably his favorite color.
"Blue," he said decisively. "I like blue."
After several more minutes of looking around and wandering from bin to bin, shelf to shelf, Chance returned to the cart, arms laden down with his choices.
"Okay," he said cheerfully. "I got this one, this one, and..." Chance held up the next two with a smug smile.
"These two."

"How am I not surprised?" Otto replied with a lidded gaze. However, Chance was finally taking some initiative, which was nice to see. He actually liked all those pillows. Maybe he'd... take them.... < thirty pillows at home!>> Tenya scolded in his mind. He waved it off.
"That one looks like the rug I got under the couch." He murmured at the second one. "Okay, so you got somethin' flashy for your room. Thank God.." He looked around some more. Curtains was on the agenda. What else...
"Look for art, too. For the walls. Or wall stickers." Blankets, rugs....
Otto stopped in his tracks in front of a bedroom set that seemed to be designed around music lovers. "Case in point.." He stared at the wall, where a large canvas of a drum set sat. Looks like Otto would be doing some shopping, too.

"And it's not white," said Chance airily, tossing the pillows into the cart with relish. "And I got more than one, so, you know, progress and all that s**t."
He gave a little nod and trailed after Otto, looking with some amusement at the wall hanging.
"Gonna get it?" Chance asked, attention diverted by a bin of rugs all rolled up. He meandered over and browsed through them, not noticing the sign that indicated they were for children, and plucked out one in particular, tucking it awkwardly over his shoulder as he next veered over to a shelf laden with blankets.
When he came back to the cart this time, not only did Chance have the rug and the blanket, but he also had a box of hanging lights and several small, empty black frames.
"I think I'm getting the hang of this," he said cheerfully.

"Yeah yeah, you're learnin'." He patted his head to emphasize the point. A colour in Chance's room other than white was indeed progress. The canvas photo was indeed alluring. In fact, just as Chance asked if Otto would get it, the man sighed and dragged one out from the supply of them in the bins. "Yep." He had no choice, you see. It was made for him.Their cart was getting nice and full. Otto's brows rose when Chnce returned. It was easy to see he was impressed. "I think so too.." He murmured. Finally the man's room would reflect his personality. And it was starting to show in just one shopping cart. "Your room is gunna look bitchin'." This was kind of exciting, he had to admit. He was glad he'd pushed Chance to do this. "You're welcome." He put on his crown of smug, figuratively, and moved forward.

At this rate, they'd need a bigger cart. Or two carts.
Chance gave the canvas photo an approving nod, because even though Otto's room was already decorative, it was very much him. And now, as Chance looked at his own growing pile, he was starting to feel a little more enthusiastic about his own room.
"Thank you," said Chance, a smirk on his lips as he leaned over and brushed a quick, distracted kiss to Otto's temple. It could have looked more like just him leaning close it was that brief, and he was moving forward a second later, over to where a wall of curtains showed in front of them.
"Now the question is...dark or light curtains?"

He wondered idly if the kiss was brief for Otto's sake, or if it really was just a quick gesture of affection. Either way, he felt fine with it. The Ikea was crowded, but nobdy was there that he knew either. "Uuuuuuh... I unno. I ain't no curtain expert." Otto shrugged. "I got orange ones." For obvious colour bias reasons. His whole room tended to lean toward Blue and Orange. Clearly Otto's use of curtains was purely for the aesthetic and not so much the function.

Chance looked back over his shoulder at Otto with some amusement.
"Orange is a nice, bright color, fits well with you," he said lightly, and turned back to the vast array of curtains in front of him. There were so many to choose from he was getting a little confused as to what kind he was even supposed to be looking at.
"Okay," he said, about five minutes later, finally plucking one up. "I like these ones the best, I think."
Chance held them up, looking quite pleased with himself.
"Where to next?"

Otto gave a nod, letting Chance add them to the cart. He checked Twitter for more orders before pocketing the phone once more. "Um... hmm..." Chance had done really well. He was having a hard time thinking of anything else he might need. "Well.. if you see anythin' you like, just get it. Otherwise you're pretty well covered.." He murmured. "I gotta get a desk for Jordan, and a full length mirror for Chel, so far.."

Chance gave a nod and said, "What kind of desk are we talking about? Like a big one, or just one that he can use to write on."
He reached out as he fell back into step beside Otto, one hand going to the other's waist, Chance absently looping a finger through one of Otto's belt loops. "We'll have to be careful with the mirror, though," he said, eyes roaming the shelves with unabashed curiosity. "Just so it doesn't break when it comes back."
He almost got on Twitter solely reply to Otto's question if anyone needed anything - but since the only thing Chance would have said would have been something dirty, just to be obnoxious, he very nicely refrained.
"What sort of food do they have here, anyway?"

"Umm..." He checked his phone again, slowing his pace to match Chance once he felt the other's arm move around him. "He said nuthin' elaborate.. just somethin' with drawers. So yeah, I guess just something to write on." As for the mirror, he looked the cart over. Maybe he could stand it up somehow. Too bad they couldn't nab a cart to take to the portal. "Wonder if they got anythin' with wheels round here..." Or maybe a sled. "Dunno.. I ain't actually eaten here before. Just always passed by."
