Karothdra - Post #2“Good for you!” Karothdra gave the girl a good, hearty tap on the girl’s shoulders. “Glad to hear, we need all the abled hands we can get.” It was always a good thing to hear when others were getting stronger and were able to push back when things got hard. Last time they hadn’t been able to fight off the imbeciles, but she was sure they could handle them now. “Tough times bring people together.” Karo said with a short nod. That’s why they were all gathered here after all. When the girl asked her for her thoughts, the Oban turned to her pensive for a bit.
“I want to go to war,” Karothdra said on a serious tone. "I wouldn’t mind getting in a fight with one of these Alkidikes, I heard they were amazing warriors and I want to try out my skill with them.” A silly reason, but it was one of the two. “I also want to go because if we start letting them invade places they might start getting ideas and want to invade other places as well. If we let them go where they want now they’ll be taking more and more in the future, can’t let that happen.” No way.
“What about you?”

Ichil- post 1
Ichil bristled. War? Hadn't the Alkidike learned? Her own people had been forcibly removed from the rest of Tendaji; there had been bloodshed and kidnapping and horror. Why now? What was it with the races deciding that they deserved the rest of the world? Rather than speaking her mind and further dooming her family, Ichil cross her arms and furrowed her brow to listen. Opinions seemed mixed, but if there was a fight to be had she would join it, and so would her father and his men.
Sebastien- post 1
It hurt his heart to hear that someone else was planning an attack on a land that was not rightfully theirs. As with any other time he would stand with the King's decision, but that did not mean he enjoyed the idea of another war. The last had already left such deep scars in his soul... but what then? Should they just stand back and allow the Alkidikes to attempt to overthrow another people? No. And Besian was right, it may be a gesture of good faith to show that the Obans cared for the well-being of Tendaji as a whole. Yes, he thought. He would fight against oppression.

Mynshaka Post 2

Mynshaka saw a younger oban girl frowning and her and scowled.
"What?" He growled; "Got an issue oban?" Annoying people... why'd they have to be the only land next to his people? It'd be easier if they weren't cut off from the rest of tendaji! He didn't even want to talk to her... But he had been told to behave himself so he kept from saying more.
It would have been nice if he'd been allowed to bring his weapon, but both his father, grandfather, and teacher had all told him no. Loudly and often. Not like I would just use it... Too many of them to fight all at once. It would have felt safer to have it with him though.

Sanele Post 2

"That's a good point....Several good ones. "She would rather be on the good side of the wind and ice tribes though; that's where she planned to travel after all! But that was simply her, not a reason to convince others to pick the Suatians over the Alkidikes.
"But I think I heard something about this being extremists among the alkidikes.. surely it's not all of them... And if one people's extremists make a move.. whats to keep the other tribes radicals from doing the same? Like our own nobles who miss their free labor. Just a thought if you would." She shrugged. Maybe it wasn't true.. but she knew someone would try to twist it so that they could use this as a reason to reclaim matori.

Cerith: Post 2 Cerith sighed, imperceptibly, as she spotted him through the crowd, the hand squeezing her heart in anxiety easing when they were reunited. Calm though she seemed, losing track of her brother had been more harrowing than she had expected
But, wait... A snow cone? Cerith looked at the melted sweet treat, but after a moment of confusion she reached for the grape one, taking a moment to take a taste. It was so surreal, being here with Jelanii of all people - enjoying treats, speaking of war, and surrounded by more Matori, Obans, and other people than she'd ever seen in one place before. And that was saying something, since she had grown up in Oba!
Tumbling over her thoughts, Cerith hummed at the question, then tossed her eyes out over the crowd, gauging the general mood. Many wanted to aid the foreignors - then again, plenty here were visiting from the north, and had a vested interest in keeping it safe. Other Obans considered the potential ramifications, and prospects, of offering their hands. Between her people, though, many were idealistically insisting on helping - while others realized the necessity for caution. One rather muscly Matori in particular [Mynshaka] voiced one aspect of her opinion quite well, and she found herself nodding mutely at his words.
And yet, at the same time, Cerith disagreed. "If you can't live in Oba, and I can't in Matori, then the north is what remains... and if it is overtaken by these Alkidike, I doubt they'll want to share their claim." She said, her voice at a normal volume - not raised to be heard by anyone but Jelanii, but not hushed and secretive. She ate more of her treat, considering thanking Jelanii for his thoughtfulness, but pointedly refusing to give that feeling a voice. Instead, she puzzled for a moment, then gestured to the crowd with a hand. "You can't be thinking that it's a good idea, either, using war as a bonding trip for our people? Right, brother? It's just ... a bad thing waiting to happen!"

Nuawahn (Post 1) Nuawahn liked festivals, but this one was a little different for him. For one thing, he was surrounded by Obans and, though he couldn't remember why, that fact made him nervous. For another thing, everybody was talking about fighting and, worse, they were saying that the Alkidikes were bad! Alkidikes weren't bad! Nuawahn knew Alkidikes! He even could remember one, so they must be special.
He looked around plaintively for Arijah, surprised that he had somehow lost her in the crowd. He needed her now – she was the only person around that he knew he knew, and he didn't want to be surrounded by Oban strangers without his 'good' Oban...

Shalvesta: Post 2 The arguments could only keep Shalvesta's attention for so long - soon enough, she shrugged her shoulders and turned away from the proceedings, mind already turning at the thought of heading north. The last time she had headed north had ended in Jauhar, in Shifter territory, where she'd seen a caravan of traders headed to Oba and had taken the company during a moment of weakness. This time, if she went north with others off to defend Sauti, she felt she could make it farther. Nodding at her decision, Shalvesta turned on her heel, intent on leaving the bickering crowd behind her (it didn't matter to her if they all went north or not, honestly)... but instead of swinging about to saunter off, she knocked her sword sheath against someone's leg, knocking her - and the unfortunate crowd goer - off balance.
In Shalvesta's case, her swordtraining had her reacting fast enough to reach out, grabbing at the other person to keep them from toppling over - and it wasn't until she had set them upright once again that she realized it was a Matori man. ...Great. She paused, then took a breath and stepped back, holding her hands up in the universal 'Woops, my bad' gesture, raising her shoulders in disconcerted shrug. "I'm sorry - not my intention." She explained simply with a soft quirk of her lips, hesitantly dropping her hands from where they had remained raised.

Jelanii Post 2
Jelanii watched with pleasure as Cerith enjoyed the snow cone. It felt almost magical just being able to share this moment with her. Like this even the presences of so many Obans were just a slight nuisance. He took a bit of his own snow cone and sucked in a breath as the cold rushed up through his body. He squinted until the slight pain of the freeze vanished. It was completely worth it.
He listened to his sister and frowned just a little at her words about Matori, but he didn't comment on it. He shook his head. "I don't want to bond with any Oban. Anyone who says this is a bonding trip between our races is a fool. We did enough so-called 'bonding' when we were forced into slavery by these people...some of us more than others," he said bitterly.
"But I do think we should fight. Our people didn't just become free to loose our freedom to some new threat, but there's no need for us to march to war with Oban. We can fight and stay separate. Why must we merge together as one arm, why not simply be two arms with an alliance between us. That would be the better route. It is time we united as a people instead of uniting with those who would simply use us as shields."
Satisfied that he had spoken his peace, Jelanii lifted his snow cone only to stop as he caught sight of familar long silver hair.
"Ilian!" he shouted, waving his hand, trying to get the shifter's attention.

Illian Post 2
The more he listened to the conversations around him, the more agitated he felt. "Displacement is no better than running away. You shouldn't be showing your backs to the enemies." He said, words biting at the group of matorians, both pure blooded and hybrid, who were murmuring to each other about how they were going to flee back to Matori. "If you think they'll stop at Sauti you'll be mistaken. They'll just use it to tend to their wounded, dig in a bit, secure supplies, then head right back out."
He shook his head, "We need to stop dragging our heels about this. The more we talk it over the more time they'll have to move out and the more damage will be done." His words had a visible effect on the group he'd been speaking to, more than half of them agreed with him and the rest just looked even more afraid. He scowled and shifted through the gathered crowd, wanting to get someplace a little quieter before he lost his temper.
He'd almost made it when a voice called out his name, and his dark mood vanished. He brightened a little as he spied Jelanii and changed his course to meet up with him. "Hello Jelanii." He said, looking a little less grumpy, "Cerith, hello. What are the two of you planning on doing? I'm going to stay and help fight. I don't want anyone else to have to feel what I did, being forcefully removed from my family."

Tera Post 2A squeak of surprise escaped from Tera as someone bumped into him, sending him staggering, his arms windmilling a bit as he tried to get his balance back. He lifted his head, about too tell the woman that bumped into him that it was fine... at least until he spotted who it was that had bumped into him. An Oban woman? He blinked a couple times as he starred at her, his mind instantly whirling. A Oban? What should he do? Should he run? No, that would likely seem rude but there was a deep down, deeply ingrained fear in him that said that she shouldn't be trusted. It didn't help that the voice in the back of his head was screaming about the same thing. Don't trust her, don't talk to her, just put distance between them before she tried to drag Tera off. This was why he shouldn't have come without Ashta or even Kyruie! Tera blinked a couple times, then took a could steps back from her, "I... umm... It's fine." Better that he didn't do something to make her angry, right? If he ignored her apology he might seem rude and she might retaliate. Alright, deep breaths, get himself under control, and then he could see about shuffling off on his way somewhere that had less Obans gathering. Here was to hoping it was just those who were interested in going to that 'Sauti' place to deal with 'Alkidike' who were gathering and not those like his former master the voice in his head muttered. A comment that instantly had Tera looking around, as though half expecting the man to show up because he'd foolishly thought about him for too long a period of time. "I will try to keep out of your way from now on." He added, hoping that would help to make her feel better about tripping over him. It had sort of been his fault after all since he wasn't paying attention.

Orpheus Solon I'M SO SORRY ABOUT ALL THE DOUBLE QUOTES Abie Post 1The identical males walked on either side of a bandaged shifter. The slighter taller of the two males chuckled. The taller male gently placed his arm around the shifters shoulders as he spoke. "So, are we excited about this festival! I mean...everything is gunna look up for all of us..."Abie knew that his brother was worried that he would get in a fight over his head. Nodding he looked down to their new housemate, glad they could help the other as he looked to his twin he smiled brightly. "Harsh words coming from a angel face like yours." Abie's arm around the shifter's shoulders was placed there to make sure that the other male was steady. It also helped him get a chance to look down at his twin. Something he sorta delighted in...only a little. Aqio Post 1The smaller male snorted looking over a list of things their Mentor wanted while they were "enjoying" the festival. He huffed...enjoying. This was merely another day that he was making sure his brother wasn't a complete fool. "Naive. Did you not just hear the leaders? The Alks are on the move...chances are we'll be in war soon. If that foolish heart of yours doesn't toughen up then your bound to fall first."Though his words were harsh, the smaller male meant good out of them. His brother knew this. Aqio was blunt, but covered up his loving nature with harsh words. Aqio rolled his eyes. As his brother commented on his appearance. A common thing between them. He glanced to the shifter walking between them. Incan looked better than usual, that was good. He hide the small smile as he knew his elder twin was making sure the shifter was steady.

Incanthis Post 1It had been some time since he'd felt like being up and about like this but with the help of the twins, as well as the elderly woman that they were friends with, he was back on his feet. He was still a bit on the exhausted side but at least the majority of his injuries were doing better. He turned look at Abie as the man put an arm around him, something that allowed him to stay steady on his feet, and he said, "Thank you, Abie, but you really don't need to fret, I am doing better." He wanted to reassure his friend, lifting a hand to pat that of the kindly Matori boy before he turned to look over at Abie's slightly shorter brother. As he listened to Aqio he couldn't help but to sigh, "We used to hear stories about how scary the Alkidike were back in their hay day. I hope that they revert to that level of dangerous, not when some of my brothers might still be in Jauhar." He was worried for them, wanted to find them, but he doubted he'd be able to do so straight away. No, he needed more time, not to mention he needed to figure out if Istanell and Illian were still in the area or not. It had been a little while since he'd seen them. There was a part of him that worried that they might have already left after heading about the Alkidike. Lifting his free hand he patted Aqio gently on the shoulder, "You needn't worry, the two of you won't be caught up in such a battle if you don't want to be. You can just stay here where its safer for you." He reassured the pair the best he could. He'd rather they didn't go North anyway, not if there was a possible battle going on. Better that they stayed away from such dangerous things and were allowed to just enjoy the relative peace that they were offered here. Lifting his hand from Aqio's shoulder he adjusted his hood, keeping it low so that he could avoid being spotted. It was fairly likely that his former master was out looking for him still and he didn't want to risk being noticed, especially when, without the cloak he wore, that he'd stand out quite a bit. Especially given his Matori escorts.

Abie Post 2Abie walked with his hood thrown back as he looked around the crowd. His arm tightening ever so slightly around Incanthis to make sure the other really was steady, he hummed a bit as he did so. Seeing no immediate hassles he smiled. "Hey...think they have games around here for us to play? I'm sure Mentor would like a few trinkets to display."Abie looked over to his brother when he heard the smaller male's soft voice. The male muttered grumpily when the smaller commented on his maturity levels. "And I'm sure for an old geezer like you there are plenty of resting spots."He knew that it seemed odd for them to banter with little prompt. They were twins it should be easy enough to tell that they would do this. Be able to predict the other. He kept his other hand rested on his rope belt, the top half of his kimono like shirt for once on his upper body. Though it was wide open he pulled it on mainly because he knew their Mentor would of preferred him to show a more presentable side. That and the old healer smacked him with her cane before they left her, spouting something about him being indecent. Aqio Post 2The smaller male looked to the shifter, a small ghost of a smile drifted across his face before it went blank. He wasn't one to reveal his emotions so openly to others outside of their home. Aqio pulled at his hood, making sure that it was secure as he walked. While outside, the smaller male kept a hood up more out of habit than anything. Though most in a certain area knew of their Mentor and of their connection to the male, it was rare to find someone willing to give the twins grief of them being Matori. Aqio sighed. "Idiot. Mentor wouldn't want trinkets to display. He has plenty of those. The list states he'd rather have delicatessen that are only made around festival time. Oh...there's a few matori sweets on here. Besides...I don't think they have games for...wait. Your a child. Chances are there's games for a child of your caliber."The smaller twin gave the other a small glare before huffing as he heard the other mutter. Yes, he knew that they seemed more antagonistic than friends. If only due to the insults he would toss and the anger tinted words his brother threw back. He knew better. He looked ahead to spot a familiar face, one of their Mentor's allies were running a booth. Chances are they were running a game...or food. He hoped it was food, he could go for something to eat.

Incanthis Post 2Incanthis couldn't help but to give a little smile, "The boy of you are still young enough that you should be able to enjoy games, treats, and everything else that goes along with a festival." He told the pair of them, wanting to see them have fun instead of holding back for any reason. They should be able to enjoy themselves, though Incanthis couldn't exactly force them to have fun since that in and of itself was sort of the opposite of fun. Instead he said, "I think we should find something fun to do, I don't know about the two of you but I would rather try to find a fun game or sweet treat instead of having to listen to all this talk of a possible war." The last war had torn his family apart and threw him into various situations that he hated thinking about. Things were finally, possibly, looking up and he wanted to avoid getting caught up in another fight or dragged off again. If it weren't for the fact that some of his brothers might be in the midst of things he would try to ignore what was going on entirely. "Abie, Aqio, how about we try to have a little fun, and see if I can't get a nice smile from the both of you, hm?" He said, giving them both a gentle sort of smile. He missed taking care of his little brothers so for the time being he would look after these two as though they were his brothers.

Besian looked pleased as conversation flowed without a hitch, Naria's words of violence not being tolerated seemed to stick. He listened for key phrases and when he heard them he tried his hardest to listen to the rest of the conversation. Most of the arguments started out strong only to taper off into uncertainty, completely undermining what the orator had originally been trying to say. It was disappointing. But at least it seemed that most, if not all of those gathered, wanted to help Sauti.
Naria on the other hand was starting to look as if she'd sucked on a lemon and was clearly fighting back the urge to call out and address the group. The arguments were largely in favor of helping Sauti, driven mostly by those who were not native to the area. Was this their way of saying that Matori and Oba should help, in return for their aid in freeing the Matorians? That thought pacified her a bit. A debt was a debt and there was the treaties to think of...
Meanwhile in the crowd a group of Obans had followed Illian to where he'd stopped to speak with his companions. "We've spoken it over and agree with a lot of the stuff you said. A lot of us are trying to make amends for what our families did, knowing that it was wrong to do so." The speaker said, a waif-like woman with large crimson eyes whose family had clearly been breeding themselves for a more delicate structure.
A larger more stocky Oban male suddenly yelled out, "Only those who have nothing to lose turn tail to run!" He turned to Karothdra, whom he'd been unashamedly listening in as she spoke with Eleina. "What you're saying is right, if we give them an inch they'll take the entire country, if it's war these Amazons want, it's war they'll get, and we'll make them wish they'd remained in their home with their trees."
Snorting Naria let her folded arms drop as she leaned over to whisper to Besian. "Looks like there'll be reinforcements to Sauti. Energetic ones too."
