Duke Edward Drake

Ruelash (Post 1)

Direk stomped her way imperiously through the crowd, resplendent in her furred harness. She had caught a scent and she knew exactly what she was looking for. She made a loud bleat of greeting before shoving through the last stretch of crowd to her friend Sezarra. There she was! She had better have treats for the trouble she had put her through!

Festivals were awful. He didn't even want to be here. But he'd been looking for a fight around the festival's outskirts and then Direk had decided that she wanted to run off somewhere. Now he had to find her.

He shoved belligerently through the crowd, searching for her familiar black hide. Finally, he found her.

”There ya are, girl!” he said, reaching for her harness, ”Chi's breath, you can't just do that...” he paused, ”Oh! Hey, Seze.” he said, relaxing a little. Direk was in good hands with her. He was actually a little jealous... in a good way. ”So... this. What do you think of all this?” he grinned as talk of war reminded him of it's prospect, ”Ye think we're gonna have another war? Nice and bloody?”

Eira Post 2

"Chimelu? What a nice name, welcome! My name is Eira." She introduced herself, giving a soft laugh at the question posed to her, "Mmm, yes, that is the plan. For anyone who doesn't want to be a part of the skirmishes to come here, rest up, and just enjoy themselves. I have no intentions of joining in another war unless the invaders thing to come and wreck my inn. Given we are a little out of the way though I doubt we have anything thing that they might want." Not that she knew exactly what it that they might want but he could hope that it wasn't located anywhere around here since she wasn't in the mood to get in an arguement with the invaders any time soon.

Glancing toward the inn she motioned to the man standing there and said, "That there is Gyuri, he's in charge of the security around here. The first rule for those entering the inn is that you check in any weapons you might have with him. If you happen to be the magical sort please refrain from casting inside, alright?"

Calling out she said, "Gyuri! This is Chimelu! He's going to be joining us for a while!" She turned back to Chimelu and said, "Don't let him trick you, he's a really nice guy. He just likes to look big and intimidating when he's guarding the door."

Gyuri Post 2

Gyuri was quietly watching as the young man chatted with Eira, sizing him up, debating on if he was dangerous or not. He really didn't seem to be, at least to him, and said that he wanted to relax and ignore everything going on outside the inn. It was about what those in the troupe were wanting to do for the most part so it was likely that he was the sort of guest that they were looking for her.

As Eira called out to him, telling him the boys name and that he'd be joining them for a while he lifted a hand and gave Chimelu a wave. Alright, a guest! That was more then welcome, they were an inn after all. They were always open for guests but he felt that now as a time to be even more welcoming to those who just wanted to get away from the threat of another war. So long as the boy followed the rules then Gyuri was all for letting him in and seeing to it that he got a room to stay in for the duration of his visit.

alek post two

"I would rather like to go home," Alek admitted, nodding a greeting to Zuri as he responded to his twin. "But I think it's a mistake to retreat to the current safety of Zena only to find it invaded months from now anyway." He stood a little taller as he said this, realizing he meant it. He had done passably with poultices and potions before he had grown overwhelmed by the last bout of fighting he'd seen. Maybe he'd be useful again.

"So I guess I mean to stay." He cleared his throat and looked at the ground.

Words flew across the crowd, no one yelling or arguing too much just yet, for which Vescillea was thankful. She and Freya still stood on the stage watching and listening, trying to grasp what the populace's views were. For the most part the crowd was leaning towards staying and fighting; though there were some persuasive call of leaving, the crowd wasn't gathering about anyone just yet.

Freya frowned when she heard mentions of a few alkidikes seen here at the festival, but she didn't spot any just yet and made no move to find out if it was true or not. She was also wondering if she should try to persuade people herself.. but kept her tongue still. This was not her land so she would let her friend take the lead... even though it was tempting to try and persuade the crowd herself.

Vescillea noticed a few younger folk in the crowd looking worried and moved to comfort them. "We don't mean to scare you. Don't worry, if they do come we'll make sure you young ones will be safe." She fluffed Araie's hair companionably. "This is just speculation... I'm sure that we can reach a decision tonight and things can return to normal soon enough. It's not like Alkidikes are sitting on our doorsteps right?" She tried to joke.

About one leaf tribe member (Dezani) a group was growing, the crowd was agreeing with him... even if he wasn't from their land he would stay and fight with them.. if a stranger could do that than they could too right? Plus he did have a point.

But his arguments weren't the only ones heard and one wind woman called out; "It's just a few extremists alkidikes right? So why should we even bother with them? Let them come and eventually they'll leave because they're from the jungles! Our land in't theirs and they don't know how to survive in it! Why fight and die when we can simply move to a different part of Sauti and return when they get bored?"

Zuri - Post Three
Looking at her adopted siblings she couldn't be happier to be home. If they were going to war she would protect them. It wasn't like she had had daughters to protect, so her siblings were her first and only priority now.

"You're right Alek. There is no point in running home, if we do it will only send the message that we will run away whenever they come. I think staying and fighting is the best option. And really our only one. We need to protect what is ours."

She hoped that Vescillea was right, that the Alkidikes weren't at their doorsteps. It would take time for them to get there if they did decide to come. Right? "Shouldn't people be looking out for them?"

He chuckled. "They thought may have crossed my mind yes." He offered her a hand up so she didn't have to scramble too much. He was stronger than his slight frame would suggest, and didn't find her too heavy to aid. "Alkidikes are a lot more aggressive and arrogant that the obans. Obans you can reason with.. once those bugs get an idea in their brains its hard to shake them. They also seem to think their stupid tree goddess gave the entire world to them and they have the right to kick anyone out of their homes."

He looked back at the Alkidike and made a rude gesture to her, other hand resting on where one of his knives lay hidden. Se looked to be reaching for an arrow; the instant she drew her bow, he'd throw his knife. She was a bit far away but he'd hit targets that far... His accuracy would be lower but hey; there were several alkidikes there! If he hit any of them it'd be worth it.

Kayin post 2

"Makes sense," she said, nodding at both Alek and Zuri, crossing her arming in front of her chest. "We really can't afford our boarders to be compromised"

Kayin pondered to herself for a moment. A scouting party would be useful. Maybe the supposed 'threat' had already been quelled and they were worrying about nothing. She hated worrying, and Alek had given her more than enough to worry about in her lifetime, what with his wandering off without a word. She resisted the urge to smack him. That was in the past and being assalted by his sibling out of no where is not what Alek needed right now.

"I agree Zuri," she said, making herself focus on the here and now. "We need a scouting party or something like that. Perhaps the want to take over has died down, or perhaps it's just a rumor that's gotten out of control. And if it is valid, we'd have a chance to know just what we're up against"

Hope you don't mind! ^^;

Jawaad Post 2

Jawaad had to try not to laugh as she heard her younger brother going after his Direk, covering her mouth with her hand to try to stifle. It seemed as though neither of them had the best of luck when it came to animals, but luckily she had left her bundle of fur and trouble at home in a pen. Hopefully he wouldn't make an appearance.

But as she took a deep breath to calm herself from the small bout of giggles, she caught the scent of ash and fire caught her attention. Although they had used them to light the area at night, it was far from it and she took a quick glance around to catch familiar sight. Stepping through the crowd, she smiled to her hooded friend, "Ai'ian, I didn't expect to see you here," she took a glance towards the leaders with a small frown, shaking her head at the poor joke and interjection. "What do you think of this mess?"

Eije Post 2

"Do they really think it's that easy?" Eije grumbled, crossing her arms with disdain. I guess these people didn't know what tenacity could do. She couldn't help but agree with the leaf male, they couldn't show fear at a time like this! Where there was one extremist, there could be twenty behind them and she wasn't sure that she wanted to see what would happen if that came to fruition. "It's not as easy as moving around. Granted, Sauti is full of wanderers, so moving around is a normal thing, but there are farmlands, albeit a small amount of land, but much is grown there," she said, remembering what Amarone had told her, "Why would you want the Alkidikes to try to claim any of our land?"

NEIBET POST 2

"Perhaps there is something about the ritual they do in private and it is being done now? I know nothing about crystal crawler rituals and celebrations." Neibet replied, voice a little bland as Aselia's impatience seemed to increase. This was someone else's ritual, it seemed a little rude to wish it to hurry up, even if it was a ritual of a race she felt were thieves and bad influences on her sisters.

With a seemingly nonchalant move Neibet reached out with two fingers gently pushed down on the hand that was reaching for the arrow. "No violence. What if the temper and hostility in the air is what is causing the delay in this ritual of theirs?" She murmured, voice low enough that even the closest of their sisters wouldn't be able to hear it. "Wait at least, until our sister is further away so that their fastest cannot catch up to her, if we are to spill blood this day. We know they are too weak to take us on, they had to beg us for aid in their last war did they not?"

She pulled back a little, antenna twitching, and straightened. She did not like the feeling of eyes slowly shifting towards her and her sisters. While she did not doubt her skills, or that of her sisters, there were simply too many earthlings here for them to feasibly take on, especially now that they were down one. But the more excitable part of her was already running the chances in the back of her mind. It was against them for sure, but she was always one for beating the odds. Or being beaten by them, which ever occurs first. "A scare would help, disrupt them and lower their morale. They still do not think we are serious in our desire to reclaim our lands after all."
PostPosted: Fri Jun 26, 2015 9:16 am

Aselia Post 3

Aselia was quick to notice the rude movements from one of the earthlings as her eyes scanned the area. Her fingers instinctively tightened further on her arrow and as her arm moved to slowly pull it out she was met with an opposite force pushing it back down. Snapping an irritated expression at Neibet, Aselia glowered at her. "Did you see what he did!?" Aselia insisted with growing irritation. "I doubt that all this commotion is what is causing a 'delay' in the festivities. Do you think maybe one of the scouts found the bird and are delayed in getting back to us?"

Her eyes narrowed on one of the 'others' on the stage as she seemed to have her eyes settled on herself and Neibet. It was true they had lowered themselves to asking the Alkidikes as a whole for help but that was years ago. Pride had a way of creeping back up when least expected. Her eyes continued to watch the crowd around her. "I just want to see the firebird. If it takes conquering Sauti to do it..."

Her eyes shifted back to stare at Neibet. "I've heard rumor that some of them" Aselia jerked her head back towards the direction of the fleeing Alkidike. "Think Sauti would be a good claim. I've heard them talking, not that I care or blame them. They want freedom to remain as traditional as they can. Are you on that side?" Her antenna flicked as many seemed to voice a skeptical opinion of Alkidikes entering the land. Were they blind? It did amuse her a little that the crystal crawlers all seemed afraid of something that was standing a few feet from them. "I don't care if you are you know. I know what some of the sisters say about me behind my back. They've said it since I was a youngling." Shifter her gaze, Aselia's eyes bored into that of the leaders on stage. Rude or not, why was this festival taking so long? Where was the firebird!?

Yithiron 2

Ah there she was, Thorn opened his arms just in time to catch the beautiful woman who flung herself at him, getting good air for one so short. She felt so good in his arms he didn't want to put her down until this mess was over, but he wasn't good enough to fight one handed yet. "Ime." He said and kissed her quickly but passionately least he garner too many stares...so what he would squish em if they said anything.

Greetings done he thought about what to do. "No we can't let them take Sauti, I will fight if it comes to that and your valuable healing skills will probably be needed. I like Sauti and I don't want to see it come to ruin all because some alks got a little itchy. Home was important. Ime was too.

He was nervous but holding her helped to cease his shaking, this was one of the only ways they could look each other in the eye, reluctantly he let her slide to the ground. He would never get tired of her pouncing him like that.

"I don't think there is a question whether or not this part will fight but what I want to know is whether the rest of tendaji will back us up." His brows furrowed and he looked serious for one of the first times in his life.

Ime- post 2

Ime returned the kiss as if she was trying to draw the most comfort she could from the action, or maybe some sort of answer. It was only fleeting, though, in a crowd like this and she felt her feet touch the ground again as Thorn's face grew further away. He looked so very serious, burdened by life unlike she had seen him before.

When he gave a brief nod to fighting for Sauti, she took his hand in both of hers and gave it a squeeze. He would fight for her home. Sure, he might have come anyway were Tendaji in danger, but this meant something to her. When so many others plead to run away to the mountains, her lover was willing to fight.

"They must," she said hopefully, "The threat may not be so widespread as when the Obans came to Tendaji, but we've all banded together before. They must." Of course help was never guaranteed, but to know that Thorn would join the cause was reassuring. Of course now she had to worry about his safety as well.

Seze was a walking treat dispenser and well did Direk know it, one side was meat wrapped in leather and the other was alfalfa treats for her favorite vegetarian girl. "Hello Direk," Seze said patting the long proud neck and presenting the searching muzzle with two green delicacies. "I can always trust you to find me, have you seen...Oh Rue there you are! I think I got rather lost out here. Is your sister around?"

Seze took a long look around. "I think so, it looks crowded enough that there might be a good chance, why come if your not going to fight right? Here I thought I would be running back to Jauhar but they are coming after Sauti. I'm just not sure why." Maybe Rue knew what would draw them here.

Seze's pets studiously ignored the aldabuck both fully aware that Direk held a special place in their mistresses heart.

"I think this is exactly that a great mess, all things need not end in violence but the alternative is to sit here and get smitted, so I will fight when I have to if I'm not needed for weapon crafting, that will be busy too. Goodbye sleep." He smiled wryly more of a quirk of the mouth then an actual expression of good humor. "What about you? Will you be taking up the bow to defend Sauti?"

He brushed a hand over his face and managed to get it smeared with dark black soot. Then he switched the subject, "Did your niece like the necklace?" It always worried him to ask but it was important for item quality control.

Hi~!!

Myrida Post 1

Myrida sighed as she walked through the festival. Shifting her small half cloak around herself she tried looking for her Father. No luck. Sighing she knew where the group would meet up to go home, they wouldn't leave her behind. Her Father would be restless. She found a pretty cloak, thinking over if she should get it. She thought to come back, she was short a few coins for it and wanted to get more out of her Father. As she walked around more she saw her friend. Ai'ian.

She felt her body lift in her delight, then it dropped a little seeing someone else. Oh...a new friend! She ran over to the two, easily leaping up to hug the male. "Ai~ Hey! I was hoping to see someone I knew here!!"
