The more he laughed with her, the more she eased into comfort. He wasn't upset or nervous to talk to her, or laugh. And that was a good thing, because it meant that he was getting use to her.
"I do." She easily answered, as if his nervousness didn't effect the conversation. Mostly cause it didn't. "I don't actually enjoy it though. I prefer to garden or nap then I do cooking. I do it out of necessity really." She sighed sadly, "But if I am gonna spend the time cooking, I guess I should be good at it?"
She dropped a couple more produce items before moving on to something else. "I would love for you to come. Colin hasn't seen me yet, but I plan to invite you guys sometime soon! My assessments are coming up soon though, perhaps after that I would do it for you!" She blinked and then her smile turned coy.
"The best way, I heard, to learn a language is to be lovers." She ran her fingers over his, "I'd love to teach you." Among other things.

He was so glad she didn't. So many people let it. - one of many reasons it was easier to stick to the back and blend in. Except it really wasn't. - it was complicated. But this wasn't, this was more than he ever thought - He chuckled, giving a slow, understanding nod. "I'm in the same boat. ... only everything in my garden dies and I read more than I nap. But they're not really so different, I mean, depending on why you sleep." He paused, pushing his sunglasses back up his nose. "But the cooking thing is definitely dead on, one hundred percent."
"Your assessments?" He tilted his head inquisitively to a side, and the sunglasses drooped right away as he blinked owlishly at her. "What are they assessing for? - oh, but, uhm, yes! I'd definitely love that!" He put a little extra enthusiasm so she'd know he was legitimately excited. Then he realized his voice had carried and it was time to clear his throat again, his tongue flicking out over his lips before he pursed them.
Then, between her smile, the way she touched him, and the words she spoke - his breath caught in his throat. Not in the bad way. Just, the insinuation, the way she looked at him - words failed him, and failed him hard. The best he managed was a kind of strangled little sound in the back of his throat. Again - was she kidding? - did she mean that? - his mind was going in all kinds of places and it never really occurred to him that that might have been the point all along.

"Goodness Lorne!" She reached over, "If you have plants, please...I must implore you, to please please please bring me the plants and I will give them the tender nurturing care to bring them back. Then I can return them to you!" She laughed again, to show him that she was teasing. "But seriously, if you do want them to return, I have an excellent green thumb."
Cooking was hard. Very hard.
"Yes! Once, every six months or so, we have the equivalent of a semester exam, though it's called assessments. They take them to see if we have improved our dancing enough to be considered for auditions for live companies. Like DCBC?" She reached her free hand up and placed it over her heart. "In a couple of weeks, I'll have mine with my class. They are broken up into two parts. The idea is to impress on the first try, because you have the most options for auditions afterwards. If you don't pass the first one, you move to a second one where they will be even more strict with what they are looking for. If you cannot pass the second one, then you continue the ballet program for another semester. So basically, you have two times a year, to move out of just a class and into a company." She breathed out. "I'm nervous as hell because I do not have the figure of a traditional ballerina, BUT I have the heart and talent." She grinned as he shut down in that cute little way when she mentioned comments like that.
"We can take it slow. But I decided long ago Lorne, when I first met you, that in the future I would take you to bed." She hummed, "It's up to you though, if you want something more from it, or if you would like me to be a casual partner." She sincerely hoped though, that he didn't want a friends with benefits. She hadn't had a consistent lover in a long time, and her heart well...it beat just a bit faster with him.
But in the same sense, it scared her to even think of the idea of going steady, or even dating someone that wasn't Eve or Elzo. Though they were technically friends with benefits, they were...comfort zones.

Lorne laughed with her, only he tried to bury his mouth behind his hand to keep the sound in check. It failed, erupting from between his fingers. "Good to know I have an emergency plant medic on standby, " he teased back, then clicked his tongue. "I should really have them taken away from me, I mean... I do everything I'm supposed to, but before I know it... please, you and your green thumb, help us, " he pleaded softly, eyes bright with amusement.
Looked like he was learning a lot today. Of course, Lorne being Lorne, his first response would have to be, "Well, I think you have a perfect figure, " which led to a good more golden moments of awkward flushing and fidgeting before he scraped up more words to go with that. "I know you'll wow them, " and this was something he said confidently, meeting her gaze deliberately as he squeezed her hand. "You have to tell me how it goes. - please."
Then, that bomb... Lorne stared at her for a long moment, his face red and his lips parted with surprise. Even if he knew she liked him, he - the way she said it so plainly, so openly, so honestly - she wanted him? Of all the people in the world, him?
"More." Maybe his voice shook a little, and it was soft, but the resolve was clear. "If you want me, I mean, I - I don't know why, I'm not - but - I - if you're fine with it, I want more from this - us." He bit his lip and added, even more softly than before, "I like you too much to just... I couldn't do that."

"Yes! I will be your plant medic." She gave him a pointed stare. "Are they that bad? Jesus, Lorne." She gripped his shirt, "just...We'll stop by your place after this, so I can retrieve them and nurse them back to care." She waved her hands.
She blushed, ACTUALLY blushed, "Oh?" She could only afterwards, because it was one of the few things she was very...very careful not to let show. "Ballet gives me a complex." She laughed. "Of course. Hopefully it'll go together nicely!"
Her smile widened more and she leaned up again, kissing his cheek.
"I would like that then." She leaned back down, softly looking up at him with teal eyes. "I would like you too, a lot." She was totally giving him a adoring gaze.

"I wish I was exaggerating, " he admitted sheepishly, and he'd had enough with the sunglasses for now so away they went, tucked neatly into his pocket. "Like, uh, you know when you're a kid and you try and grow stuff in cut milk cartons? - they all died, Nadia, " and he laughed again. "I'd feel so guilty, I'd to go cry to my mom about it. I think I'm probably cursed."
Back at his place - he'd cleaned up today, hadn't he? He hadn't done the dishes yet or anything, but, "Good. - those plants will never want to come back though, " he teased softly, and wondered what would want to come back after going home with her.
... even if he didn't even say that one out loud, he still turned some interesting colors at the thought. What was he even saying?!
Then, when she blushed - there was another moment he didn't want to forget. The flush suited her, made her even prettier than she already was. "Y-you, a complex? But - y-you're the prettiest - I mean - you're perfect, " and that was about all he managed to choke out of that one.
Her lips on his cheek were as soft as they'd been on his lips, warm and inviting. His heart pounded and fluttered in his chest when he saw the look in her eyes; it stole his breath away. "Why me?" he asked in a voice that wasn't quite a whisper. "I-I'm not - you're just so - " Seriously, just look at her and tell him this made sense. It just felt too good to be true.

"Oh stop, my heart." She clutched it, "We can't all be green thumbs, but we all can't keep trying to grow things." She gave him a silent stare for a second. "Nooooo, Handsome. You are not cursed. You are just not good with plants. You seem to be good with people though." She reached up to flick his nose playfully.
"Sure they will, I'll treat them nicely, and then remind them that you treat them nicely too." She gave him another stare, "I'll include simple instructions for them too. All plants need is a little water and sunlight to come back.
"Perfect is going to far." She murmured, "But I know that I am good looking. Sometimes I use it, sometimes I don't." She shrugged, "But It pleases me to know that you find me so. Since, after all, I am trying to attract you." She wiggled her butt at him as she picked out some bamboo plants from a stall. They were good peaceful plants after all.
"Why not you, is the question you should probably start asking. But since you seemed shocked, I'll give you a short list. You're sweet, painstakingly so. You're fun, whether its when your talking or when I can tease you and raise that cute bashful expression." She listed them off as if it was nothing, as if it was just so simple to her. "You're handsome. Tall, not overly muscular but still lean. You have the most gorgeous caring eyes." She stopped and smiled at him.
"And when you aren't looking at your feet, and you smile at me? My heart beats a little faster, and I want kiss you until your breathless, because I feel breathless." She set down the plant, "I'd like to do a lot more of course. But I'm patient."

"I love plants - I just want them to love me back, " he said in his best tragic voice, although he got a little flustered when he realized one of the other shoppers was throwing him a sideways glance. Lorne still wrinkled his nose in response when she flicked it, laughing softly under his breath. Good with people - if she only knew. "No, not really - just, uh, the best ones I guess, " and he squeezed her hand again.
"That's good. I really appreciate that, " he said cheerfully. Even if he knew even the simplest instructions weren't enough to ward off nature's way. "At least when they die again, I'll... I'll have an excuse to call you, " he leaned down to murmur softly by her ear, chuckling softly again as he stood straight again.
He made an impressive little sound when she wiggled at him and all, although he was about ready to say something stupid like how in his book they didn't come more beautiful then her when - well, all of that happened.
Lorne stood stock still and his yellow eyes widened, and for a minute he desperately wished he'd just sucked it up and left the cool guy sunglasses on to give himself some leeway. Blushing? Yeah, he was doing that, but it was more than that. He was touched, he was flattered, he was - that was probably one of the nicest things anyone outside of family had ever said to him. Scratch that. It was definitely the best.
"Nadia, I - " Emotion swelled in his chest, warm and strong and compelling. He leaned down again, hovering eye level with her for a moment that felt longer than it was, and he reached out, fingertips brushing across her cheek. "I'm going to kiss you, okay?" And he did.

She laughed again, not caring about people. Or the looks they gave them.
"Don't worry. I'll handle it." She winked. "You could call me anytime handsome. You could call me for whatever you wanted. I can't guarantee that I'll be able to come always but..."
She cocked her head, then tilted it back for him. If he wanted to kiss her? Who was she to say no?
She closed her eyes, waiting for him to drop those sweet lips on hers.FrayedFlower Wow, look at this cheese. Need some crackers for it

He was cautious at first, even in spite of his warning and her willingness. It sounded lame, but really, even if they'd already had their first kiss, he only got one chance to kiss her for the first time. His lips on hers were so light and delicate in the beginning, a breeze could have broken them apart. But he slowly lost himself to the moment, his kiss no less tender as he deepened it. His heart pounded loud enough in his head to drown out the crowds, so loud he wondered if she could hear it too.

Kisses were a very intimate thing for Nadia, she didn't share them with many partners. Each one was unique, in her mind. Each person was different. Eve's were slow and languid, much like the woman. Elzo's were playful and strong.
Lorne's was like honey. Sweet, slow and thick. Warm, as he deepened it. She felt her hands rest on his hips, her hips cocking to the side as she tilted her head a little more up, a little further towards him.
She didn't push though. Lorne was the one who was kissing, he was the one in control of it. She was just here to enjoy him. FrayedFlower OMG LOL EXCUSE ME FOR THIS LIKE SUPER ROMANTIC FILLER FLUFF

Lorne wished he could have just lost himself to the kiss for awhile longer. His hand slipped comfortably back to the small of her back, his fingers curling against her spine. Although he wasn't thinking of it then, this was the third person he had shared a kiss with in his life - and the second that he'd kissed. By far, she was his favorite. Soft, sweet, and perfect, more than he ever thought he'd - after the boy from France, he hadn't expected anything. And Nadia wasn't just anything.
He finally had to break away, a breath escaping his lips in a warm puff of air. Lorne sucked in a few more breaths as he just sort of gazed at her, searching for the words. But in the end, nothing but a brilliant, breathless smile came.

He left her breathless, in the way that she hadn't expected. She had never, in all her partners, been knocked away as she had in this moment.
And he was so lucky that they were in a public setting, where she couldn't do more to him. Like wrap her legs around his waist, ask him to just-
Anyways.
"You are amazing." She mused afterwards. "Do you want to check anything else out, or would you like to help me take my stuff back and we can have some really, really fantastic makeouts. Possibly dinner if you want as well." Look at that Lorne, She was so happy, she was offering dinner.FrayedFlower Look okay, we should wrap this sugar fest here soon >_> Before I die from overdose

It took Lorne about a good ten seconds just to collect himself enough for a response, because even if the best choice was abundantly clear, it was just - getting the blood rushing to his face to die down enough for words to work. "T-the... the second one, that, um, yes - please, " please, of course he said please, and his smile cracked in just such a way that said he knew the words from his head never quite left his mouth right.
Really though, it didn't matter. None of that mattered at all as long as she wanted him. Maybe she'd get tired of his "charms" later, but... but that was okay. For now, he hadn't been this happy, this hopeful, in a very long time. That was enough.
