Devils on the road attacked, and there was even a group of desperate rioters who tried to seize upon the retreating members of Ronaldo's clique on the way that Hatsu had been forced to fend away with his fists and the helpful club of 'Po' the Ogre. Still, some had been injured...and those who helped them to the shelters were only putting themselves at risk as well. This wasn't enough...they had to do more for the people somehow! And as he reached the shelter he looked for Seika, who had been waiting there, hoping that together they might come up with a way to protect the people even better than JPs...
...These people deserved that. Ronaldo was trying to give it to them...even if it wasn't working quite perfectly. Did that mean he should throw in his lot with Ronaldo? But Seika...would she join him if he did? He wondered...but for now, at least, they were safe. And that was the most important thing.Quote: Demon - Ogre [8] 35 Tokens

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."Demons, rioters, misguided soldiers...those types of enemies Hatsu could handle for the most part. All he had to do was fight the way that he normally did and he could usually defeat them, leave the men and women alive, and destroy the demons that wouldn't yield to he and 'Po'. But this thing...this green monster whirring like some kind of empty wheel before him...it was a terrifying foe. This, he couldn't seem to handle...his fists were too light, his magic was completely ineffectual...if only he could summon his persona and feed off of its power. Was he becoming too reliant upon its strength to sustain him when things became tough? He couldn't know...all he knew was that when that thing appeared in the park before them, destroying anything in his path...all he could do was stall.
The people fled and he attacked again, but the strike was stymied...from the alley he could hear a voice call out to him, telling him the way was clear. And just in time...the thing, whatever it was, was charging...the power was enough to kill him, he was certain...his eyes widened...
...And then from within his phone, he could hear the cry...
"Gagy!"
The winged devil tore out of his phone and into the sky, circling around and tackling the boxer out of the way of the fatal blow! He hit the street and rolled...back to his feet in an instant and running! Running away...for now...until he could return triumphant... "Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."Fleeing had been a tough pill to swallow, but the important thing was that most of the people in the shelter had gotten away from that monster...still, it was out there, electricity crackling all around it. Somewhere in the back of his mind he knew that someone would have to take it down if they were going to survive this horror for whatever would come next.
Ducking into an alley to catch his breath, he fought off a weakened Kabuso that threw itself at him and wondered where Seika had gone when the shelter scattered. First order of business was to reunite...though this time it wasn't much distance between them. He would find her, then they could talk about Ronaldo and the monster... "Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."Moving back towards the shelter in the wake of that thing, there was work to be done immediately...repairing the walls, clearing out the demons that had come in behind it...Hatsu's frustration at nearly dying was taken out as Po and Gagy teamed up to slaughter a mess of Angels and Toubyou that had rolled into the park to make it their own. If he was going to clear this place out for people to start coming back to be safe, he had to defeat them first...then he could hopefully see Seika come back...and then talk to Ronaldo...
It would all be moot if that monster came back, however...he had to hold out hope that that wouldn't come to pass. For now, he contented himself in hard work and waited for the chance to do something more important...to really start to fix what had become so broken in this world. "Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."The work continued, weeding out the last of the demons for the people and Ronaldo's resistance to begin filing back into the park. He dispersed the last of the Angels with a hard punch to the face, feeling a vague guilt for hitting a womanly face even if it was a 'devil' trying to kill him and take over a place they needed to survive. But at last, the last of the devils had been beaten...a cheerful squawk from Gagy and a triumphant slam of the club onto the ground from Po signaling that their work had reached an end for the moment. In an alley nearby he could see one of the organizers of the shelter, not he JPs ones, but one from the meeting with the Resistance...and with a nod that man began to usher some of the scattered citizens back to the cleared-out shelter.
He hoped that this wouldn't be another false start in reorganizing the world and protecting it from the threats out there. He hoped...but even he had to admit that the dangers out there were growing more and more difficult to overcome. "Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."The next thing to do in securing the shelter after clearing the demons out of the park was to try and subdue some of the more dangerous packs roaming threateningly nearby; once the people were safe he could turn his attention on matters closer to his heart. It was still in the back of his mind that the people he needed to see were going to make it back to this shelter eventually...so he wanted to make it as safe as possible for once they had come. This was a good start...clearing out the demons...but there was much more work to be done. Bilwis collapsed into a heap and dropped his pitchfork just as he dispersed into magnetite, Po's club smashing him into nothing almost simultaneously.

 Youmu Konpaku Youmu was called forth by Yamato again, to put down a series of demons in the area. She moved about with Trumpeter and Loki, both otherworldly empowered demons making short work of the groups....
Even if there were...so many of them. Her feet hurt from having to walk so much, but she would endure.

Youmu Konpaku Youmu gulped as she stood in front of the Terminal.
It had felt like ages since she'd made her way there, the JPs agents commanding her to join them here. It was...unnerving, but she could handle it.
And, as the demon appeared, a figure with two swords that looked down at her, she drew her weapon.
"Lend me your power..So that I may defend Tokyo." she called, the demon pausing. For a few moments, she worried the demon would take offense to her opposition...But, a grin formed behind it's mask. "You've got Guts. I like that, Girl."Youmu closed her eyes as the essence filled her..and she was given her orders.
"Understood." she called, seeing the horde of Cerberus demons converging on the location. Some of the more skilled JPs agents moved through the area at this, joining her on her assault. Blades slashed, and blood flew....
She'd cut down so many of them with her cold, unforgiving steel...
And, when she came to...there was a familiar figure on her phone. A familiar demon, that she had so long ago...
"Saki...!" she called, sniffling again. "You're...b..Back."
She had to keep it together...but, she was so happy to be reunited with the demon that saved her life. Quote: Tough encounter Demons: Poltergeist. "Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."Tenong Cut was hard to hit...they were stringy and agile...but with the combined force of Gagy, Po, and Hatsu had cornered the last of the horde and managed to pound them into little more than powerful dust before they had made it to the place where the people were sheltered back in the park. Only a little more and they would have restored a pretty safe location for the citizens of Iwatodai to relax. Idly, he wondered if they wouldn't have been safer holing up on Port Island where things were more cut off and easier to defend...he imagined a whole troop of people in the windows of the Mist Wall summoning demons to attack any demons that laid siege. It probably wouldn't work...and a worst case like that thing earlier might bring the whole building down on top of them.
He needed to think of a way to fight that, before it was too late...but he could only do one thing at a time! It wasn't a mission, and there weren't any demons to fight, but there was an important type of heroism in taking her back to the shelter where she was able to reunite with her big brother in order to survive with those whom she knew and loved. He smiled as she handed him a small paper crane she had folded as a gift for saving her...it wasn't much, but it filled him with a renewed sense of vigor.

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."Near the outside of the shelter, Hatsu let his Ogre deal with an amorous Kikimora in rather blunt fashion...one strike scattered the demon into ash and allowed the path back into the shelter to be clear for stragglers once more. It was just a small attack, but each victory helped keep this place a little safer...safer for himself, for Seika, for that little girl with the paper cranes and her brother. Slowly an idea began to form in his mind...that maybe this place wasn't so bad, really. If they were going to survive somewhere while they planned things out, this shelter...with these people, fighting for an ideal he believed in...it wasn't the worst place to fight, was it? They could make a stand here if they had to...like he had when the thing had come and scared them away.
As long as they could keep it safe, as long as they all came back, this could be the center of their fight...a safe place...as safe as anywhere could be in a time like this, at least. Quote: Demon - Ogre [8], Gagyson [11] 22 Tokens

Hatsu knew that the threats were only going to escalate, but he was holding his own for the moment...that wasn't going to last if the big thing came back, but he'd cross that bridge if it came to it. One step at a time...one fight at a time...he clenched his fist and looked back towards the crowds talking, whispering...he had to stay positive, for everyone...

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."It was becoming quite routine...by the time he'd protected one gate, another would be under attack by a devil that tried to get in. Ronaldo's people fought hard, but they were under-supplied, underfed, and in many cases, just couldn't hold up in battle against the threat of a real demon invasion. Hatsu, at least, had experience fighting...before and after SEES-2. His right hook smashed into the face of a Heqet and sent it tumbling beneath the descending club of the Ogre under his command, finishing it off in one smooth combination. It was routine...but it wasn't easy. Even he was finding himself struggling, sweating, reaching a possible breaking point in the near future.
What he needed was a rest...or stronger allies to take some of the burden off of himself. If only Po and Gagy could learn some new skills...or he could do the same...it might be enough to keep this shelter going a while longer than it already was. Quote: Demon - Ogre [8], Gagyson [11] 24 Tokens

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."After the fight at the last gate he finally had a chance to breathe; settling into the shelter for a few down minutes he drank a little of the gathered water...but skimped as much as he could to share with the others. It was tough getting by with so little, but at the same time, he was doing the best he could...and the shelter was safe, the people were as happy as could be expected. That was all he could do, wasn't it? His suffering...it was worth it if he could help so many people. Seika would agree, wouldn't she?
"Hm?" his eyebrow raised as he heard a voice on the far side of the shelter...was it another demon attack?! He stood to his feet and called out his allies, a nod from each letting him know it was time to push on...exhaustion be damned. Quote: Demon - Ogre [8], Gagyson [11] 24 Tokens

"Hard Luck" Hatsu Harima, the Heartbreak Kid"Aa, I'll stand my ground...I'll help you."The screams hadn't been for nothing this time...and as he came into the clearing near the edge of the park there was a terrifying sight laid out before he and his demon allies. A large monster with horns, fur as white as snow, was unleashing a torrent of ice...a full-force blizzard upon the nearest survivors to the point where it had torn down the gate and entered. Hatsu wasted no time rushing in with his phone flipped open, issuing commands to his devils without a bit of hesitation. Po smashed his club into the Wendigo's midsection and avoided the worst of the ice...Gagyson unleashed Zan from the skies and swooped down for a peck when the window opened.
As for Hatsu, his fist clenched tightly as he waited for his moment...the moment when the devil peeled its head back to roar...and exposed its softer underbelly. That was when he would strike...he just had to survive (good so far), dodge (that smash barely missed him), and whittle down its health until at last...
