Weeell...hmm, it's difficult to say without hearing the accent..but the people here are usually pretty open-minded. ^-^ It kinda depends on who you run into.. sweatdrop
Well, the frilled shark and goblin sharks are both deep ocean sharks rarely seen or heard about by people. The frilled shark was actually only recently discovered alive after a tsunami brought one near shore off the coast of Japan, considered a living fossil. The goblin shark...it's easy to tell where it gets it's name when you see it's mouth in action.. sweatdrop Here, here's a couple videos and pictures so you see what I mean. =3
Frilled shark (British accent! xd)
Goblin shark
Yes, those are both very much real.. eek
Haha, well I meant taking what you could and converting it into the specific kind of currency, like recycling. 3nodding But that's a good point! rofl
It jus ends up being really funny sometimes lol In Barbados, my cousins would tell me I talk too fast, in England some of my cousins would ask why I say "tree" instead of "three" and once while talking to one of my cousins from South Africa on skype, who was visiting one of our uncles at the time, I asked, "Are you having fun?" and she thought I asked, "Did your husband come?" xd
Wow! Those are amazing! The goblin shark is especially scary eek I'd hate to run into one of those! burning_eyes That's really sad about the frilled shark sad I kinda thought it would be more frilly though, cuz it's called "frilled" sweatdrop
Haha, "tree", huh? That sounds a lot like a friend of mine from Quebec! He learned to speak French before English and...oh, it's so cute! I love it when he says "tirty"! wheeheart Wow, dang, you have quite a few cousins around the world! eek Hmm... Does your accent sound at all like a Jamaican accent? I can picture that pretty easily.. xd
I know, stuff of nightmares, huh? eek They're also pretty fascinating from a biological standpoint... emotion_kirakira Luckily you'd probably only be able to see one of those sharks face to face if you were in a deep-diving submarine though. 3nodding
Yeah, it is too bad about her, isn't it? I bet she was in a lot of pain, but...at least we got to see some amazing footage of her. 3nodding
Yeah, I thought the same thing! xd ...According to wiki, it got it's common name, "frilled shark", from the fringed appearance of its gill slits. ...Well, I guess compared to other shark, those gills are practically Elizabethan collars! lol
aawwww... its a lot like that in Trinidad, in that we take shortcuts in the things we say lol Not really like a Jamaican... i would've really loved that though. I'd never get tired of hearing myself talk xd
*nods* The ocean is filled with so many wondrous things, both beautiful and scary emotion_kirakira
*nods* It's still so sad... like what if she had a family deep down in the ocean and they got separated cry
I see lol it is pretty unique
Hehe, I think everyone has their shortcuts in talking. I mean, who speaks perfect English or any other language? For example, many of my "have"s turn into "of" or "a" like "would of been" or "woulda been". Or "I don't know" turns into "dunno". lol Everyone talks funny, it's okay! 3nodding
Hmm...not like Jamaican, huh? I guess I'd have to hear it to be able to say then.. xd You'd never get tired of hearing yourself? Haha "Ya man!" rofl Not that I know or know of many Jamaicans, but...it seems like some of them share that sentiment... xd
That's exactly it! If you thought those were amazing, you should see come of the animals that have gone extinct in the oceans alone.. emotion_kirakira
Hmm...I don't know very much about frilled sharks, but...I don't think sharks exhibit parental care.. I think the babies, once birthed/hatched, are on their own for survival..so, I kinda doubt she had a family.. xd But, there're other frilled sharks out there! I'd be stunned if she was the last. 3nodding
Don't the English speak perfect English? lol I also heard that for Spanish speaking countries they're very particular about how ppl speak their language lol We all have our own slang 3nodding
lol I love their accent xd
*nods* or they could jus be hiding from us humans lol
I guess that is true lol I play the "Hungry Shark" game xd The ocean is like a whole other world by itself emotion_kirakira

Oh, yeah.. It was...quite a wild ride. sweatdrop The tour group was let out to swim in kinda turbulent but reasonable waters to look at sea turtles swimming in the wild...but then the waters started to get really rough. We hurried to the tiny ladder on the tour boat to climb up to get to safety, but the boat was bobbing so much on the water that you had to carefully grab the ladder without getting bashed by the boat.. It was...a really exhausting escape, but no one was injured. =3
I'm just curious, is there a discount of some sort for someone living in Caribbean islands to fly to other islands? I know in Hawai'i they had cheap flights to get from one island to another for inhabitants. =3

I'm just curious, is there a discount of some sort for someone living in Caribbean islands to fly to other islands? I know in Hawai'i they had cheap flights to get from one island to another for inhabitants. =3
aawwww... Lots of excitement on that trip surprised
It would be awesome if it was like that lol sadly its not... We get the regular fare like everyone else lol Even if some islands are close by, the fare is pretty high cause it's sort of out of the way of regular flights. Also, even though we are a Caribbean community, each island has its own currency. There were talks of having it come to one currency at one point... not sure what happened to that sweatdrop

You mean people from England? Well...in theory, yes, but...I say, nah! We all talk funny! lol Oh, you mean Spanish from Spain vs Spanish in Mexico? Yeah, it's very particular. I don't remember exactly what the difference is...but it's pretty obvious the difference in vernacular if you're more fluent in them. 3nodding
...Well...wouldn't you hide from humans too? rofl
The Hungry Shark game? I feel like that rings a bell, but I'm not sure.. sweatdrop
True dat! emotion_kirakira There're so many things people don't know about the oceans yet... It's uncharted territory for the most part. emotion_kirakira
I guess we'd all sound interesting to each other lol Not exactly lol when i first started high school and was doing Spanish, our teacher told us that in Spanish speaking countries, they're very particular about it and that if you say something wrong in their language, they'd look at you like they want to beat you up or something sweatdrop
...I actually do sometimes rofl
lol It's a game i got through my nephew. In the game you're a shark and you eat other sea creatures and sometimes humans lol if you go to long without eating anything you could starve to death. You can also get sting by jelly fish and other sea creatures ^_^
*nods* if you ever get the chance to go on a submarine, it really makes you appreciate the things you see 3nodding
3nodding Definitely! 4laugh
eek What, really? surprised I took Spanish class too and I don't remember hearing anything about that.. sweatdrop I do remember a story about someone going up to people and greeting them with "Buenos Dios!" rather than "Buenos Dias!" Which, in case you don't know means "Good God" rather than "Good day!"
xd Me too! rofl
eek Oh wow! I thought you meant like...pretending to be a shark while playing in the ocean or something.. xd
I actually did once! Over a decade ago, on a trip to Hawai'i. Personally, I'd rather just swim of my own accord. ...Minus super deep sea diving. xd ...That vaguely reminds me of an unrelated incident on that same trip where my mom and I nearly drowned trying to get back on a tour boat when the waves started to get rough in a storm.. sweatdrop
Wow, that must've been awkward lol Maybe it was jus something our teacher told us so we'd learn our Spanish properly xd
That would be interesting too lol I should try that out the next time my nephew comes over ^^
aawwwww.... i'm glad you and your mom made it back safely. That must've been pretty scary! I've also been on one in Barbados 3nodding I can't swim sweatdrop so i really loved getting the view of it all and seeing how it looks being undisturbed emotion_kirakira
Yeah, apparently there were a loooot of odd looks.. xd Hmm...maybe.. surprised
Hehe, oh, I bet that'll be fun! ^_^
Well, yes, but there was a lot of good stuff too! That was the first time I had ever seen a white sand beach...or a black sand beach for example! 4laugh
Aaaw...well, I guess that makes sense when considering each island is it's own country. ...Right...? xd So you mean...turning the different currencies something like what Euros are to Europe? surprised That would probably be handy.. xd

Haha, yeah! whee But it's more like...a smooth stone beach rather than a "sandy" beach.. It's actually basalt from lava flows eroded into pebbles. Here, here's a picture!
eek Wait, you have to have a passport to travel between islands? Aaw, that's a shame.. =/

Yeah! I mean, as long as the volcano isn't erupting.. xd But I was there, I set foot on one of those in Hawai'i, it was as safe as any beach. =3 They have some on the big island of Hawai'i...and the one I went in is called Maui...I think there's one on Oahu too.. You could probably google black sand beaches and find a decent listing of others outside of Hawai'i. 3nodding
