The little filly was shocked at first over the start of this game. It did not take long for that shock to fade and laughter to spill out from her. Extremely happy, Virulent chased after her Pawpaw. "I'm going to catch you!" She playfully bellowed at him. Unfortunately her energy was starting to wane. The day had already been a long one and she had spent a lot of energy in the playing she had already done. Sweat began to bed along her brow and her panting was heavy, but she did not give up the chase.

He playfully skipped and jogged around, barely out of her reach. He could see how tired she was getting. This was good, as the old stallion didn't have the stamina he used to, and he was exhausted from the day's excursions. The sunlight was waning, leaving a gold and crimson glow glistening off the snow, which was spraying through the air as the two ponies ran around. He let his little granddaughter catch him and evade him in turns, boosting her confidence as well as hopefully wearing her out. "You're good at this game! I'm impressed!" He paused to smile, breathing heavily from play. "You're wearing an old stallion young Princess." He made a show of very obviously looking up at the sun sinking towards the horizon. "It's getting late my dear. Shall we play a game or two more and head back?" It wasn't really a question she had control over, but letting her think she had a say in what they did should give her confidence to make decisions in life in general. Not for the first time he felt an ache for more children and thought about his mate. She was in it with him, wishing for children as strongly as he. Someday soon...

It thrilled her to no end every time she was able to tag him. If only she were not so tired, then she would be able to enjoy their game farther. His praising of her helped to keep her going longer than she probably should have. When her Pawpaw mentioned growing tired and suggested another game the young mare simply collapsed into the snow panting heavily. She really wanted to play more games with him, but her little body was just too tired. With an indignant huff, Viru pushed herself back up and onto her now wobbly legs. "Y-you are right..." she pouted out not even bothering to try and be dignified. "But couldn't we camp out?" She did her best to give him big old puppy eye and failed miserably when she broke out into a rather large yawn. Dejectedly she hobbled up to him and leaned against him for support. "Carry me?" She asked quietly as she started to fall asleep right then and there. When she would awake, she would find herself safe and sound back home and her loving grandfather gone back to his own.
