Friends? Did she really think of them as friends. The thought pleased Dezani more than he thought it would. She would be his first friend after all. Really the only one he had interacted with outside of his father's connections was her. He was proud to be her friend if she allowed it though. A friend was a nice thing to have after all, and he would never take their friendship lightly. It was very serious to him and he would assist her if she ever needed it. Don't get too excited and freak her out now. Then she won't want to be your friend. Of course, he had to stay calm about it so she wouldn't think he was odd. -I am willing to look around whenever. I am already disobeying my father, so I might as well have fun while I'm here. If that's still okay.- He would never want to burden her after all.

Disobeying his father? Syqvara shook her head at him, but there was a smile on her face all the same. "Rule b-breaker." It was her horrible attempt at teasing. Still she couldn't help reaching out to him and gently poking at his shoulder. "Of course it's okay. M-maybe you can even help me find a f-familiar. If I'm lucky." Sy was still determined to find a beast to call her companion. Who knew, maybe when she had one she wouldn't feel so awkward speaking to others.

Dezani blushed, glancing away from Sy for a moment. She was right of course, but someone actually stating it made it a lot more real. Sighing, he lightly patted her hand and smiled brightly at her. The mention of a familiar made him perk up quite a bit. Something he could actually help with! His father had taught him all about beast trapping - even if he had no desire to follow in his footsteps. -I can help you with a familiar! I promise I can!-

When she read those words Sy's face lit up. Eyes wide and a smile to match. Usually others just asked her why she wanted one or told her it was easy and she could do it on her own. Dezani was the first person so far to say he could help. Suddenly her arms would be wrapped around him in a hug. "Thank you!" While she was a shy person she couldn't contain her excitement about his promise to help her. "I've wanted a f-familiar for a while." After a second or two she realized that she was still hugging onto him and let go so that she could step back. Now red in the face she cleared her throat and tucked her hair once more behind her ear. "S-sorry. It's just that... No one has offered to help b-before." Syqvara would bite on her bottom lip and look away from Dezani, embarrassed at her own actions.

If Dezani's face were to get any redder than it was at that moment they would end up classifying him as some sort of new flora. There had been a lot of firsts while interacting with Syqvara, but this one just added onto that list. He had never been hugged by a girl before. He honestly couldn't remember if he'd ever been hugged at all. His father wasn't exactly the hugging type, at least not while he had been alive. That may have been different when his mother had been around, but she was gone along with whatever she had seen in him to fall in love with the man. Dezani would gladly help his new friend though, especially since it was something he knew. -Well I will!-

Thrilled to see those words she'd grin at him and reach for his journal. This time she would write just under his own sentence a big thank you. Handing it back with a smile, Sy seemed to hug the book she had so she didn't hug him again. It made him more red and she was sure her own cheeks could match his. "U-uh.. I can't g-go today, I'm supposed to clean the house." A chore she never seemed to complain about since it made her mother happy. "M-maybe next time you v-visit?" If she could, Syqvara would be jumping up and down with glee. Sadly, it would draw attention to her and make for a very awkward situation.

Dezani nodded happily, excited that she actually wanted his help in something. Catching a familiar with her would definitely be interesting, but he was sure it would be a ton of fun as well. Chores were something he never had to deal with since his father was always sending him out, but they were obviously important if Sy took the time to do them. He just hoped she wasn't being forced into them like he was with dealing with his father's work. Though chores couldn't be as bad as what his father made him do. At least he hoped not. -Definitely next time I visit. We will make a whole adventure out of it!-

Happy to see what he wrote she hugged him again. Sy was doing her best not to jump around and squeal. She finally had someone that was willing to help her in getting a familiar! If she wasn't so shy or thought Dezani would faint from it, she'd have kissed his cheek, luckily she thought better of the idea and instead let go of the boy so she could step back. "W-when will you v-visit again?" Syqvara wanted to make sure she would be available. There was the one trip she would be taking with her friend but other than that she didn't think there would be a problem in schedules.

Dezani thought about that for a good moment. When would he be able to visit again? He really shouldn't have visited in the first place, but now that he had he did want to return. Yera was nice and Sy...well Sy was a good friend. He'd like to continue to keep in contact with her at least. He had promised to help her get a familiar too! He couldn't just back out on that. He would simply have to avoid his father and say he got very busy on a job or something. That could work. -When would you be available for me to be back?-

Seeing what he wrote in his journal she'd press her lips together tightly in thought. After a minute Sy smiled at him. "F-Five days?" She would have loved to tell him sooner but she had to return the book in her hands to it's owner. "I have t-t-o give this book b-back in a few days, a-and I don't want to be l-late." Nervously she looked down at her feet.

Dezani nodded and smiled back at Sy, excited that he would get to see his friend again. He would meet back up with her in five days. He was already getting overly excited at the thought of getting a familiar for her and getting to help someone out. He was proud of himself for interacting as well as he could with the leafling too. It was a big step for him. -Five days sounds like a great plan. I wouldn't want to interrupt your already set plans to return the book, and that gives me some time to figure out a way to avoid my father!-

His excitement mirrored her own and it made Sy grin. It was amazing to her that there was someone that anxiety around others just like her and now she could call them a friend. Not to mention that said friend was going to help her with one of her goals. The small leaf girl wanted to hug Dezani again but figured two were enough for one day. After reading what was jotted down there was a nod given before she smiled at him. "Th-thank you! I have a-always wanted a familiar." She couldn't stress that enough. When her cheeks started to hurt she gave a small cough and reached up to tuck her hair behind her ear. "Uh-uhm, I live in th-the third house o-over there." She turned so that she could point to the dwelling she shared with her mother and twin brother. It was one of such buildings that was set upon the ground rather than in a tree or on stilts. Returning her attention back to Dezani she's shuffle her feet a bit. "Wh-when you come b-back, that's wh-where I'll be." Syqvara did a lot of the home chores to help her mother out so it was likely she would be cleaning at the time, but at least it was a sure thing that she would be there rather than gambling on whether or not she could make it to a certain point on time.

Dezani nodded, making sure to jot down the exact location of where she lived. He wouldn't want to come back and go to the wrong house after all. That would be terribly embarrassing indeed. Hopefully she would be the one who answered as well. He would be absolutely terrified if her mother or brother answered the door. He would just have to arrive there at a time he wouldn't encounter her relatives. Maybe early in the morning...or make some sort of signal to draw her out. He was incredibly excited to be able to visit her once more, just the thought of encountering her family scared her just a bit. He would chance it for his friend though. He just hoped he got lucky. -I will come back to see you then, and then we can go out and find you a familiar! I will just have to remember to bring the proper equipment.- he wrote down quickly, continuing to nod to himself as he thought over everything he would need.

She leaned forward to see what he wrote, pleased to know he was writing down where she lived. To her that meant he really would come back to help her gt a familiar. It also meant she'd get to see her new friend again. Her bright green eyes followed the script as he continued to write. Sy broke out into another grin. "I c-can't wait." The leafling was doing her best to contain her excitement, after all she didn't want to scare Dezani. She did, however, pause in her mirth to take a breath and offer her help to him as well. "I-if you need h-help with something, I-I will try my b-best." After all, it wouldn't be fair of her to simply take his help and not offer her own.

Help with something? She would really be willing to help him? Though he couldn't think of anything he would really need help with, other than dealing with his father, the offer meant quite a lot. Dezani was usually the one helping others, not that he minded or anything. It was just nice to have someone offer to help him out for once. Perhaps if he had met people so willing to help and call him a friend when he was younger he would be a lot more confident when it came to dealing with others. As it was now he already felt a little better knowing Sy. -I appreciate the offer. I really do-
