Queen Joy Of Bright-Field Atlas Osirius Shade Queen Joy Of Bright-Field Atlas Osirius Shade Queen Joy Of Bright-Field "Sort of.." Joy lifted the tea gently with two hands to her lips and back down. "I was the heir to the throne of the old Victorian vampires, my father was Sylus Verscotch, the king, but he disappeared and his order fell away, and I was fortunate enough to meet Ryu Jin." Joy took another sip, hiding her displeasure with the temperature of the tea. You too huh? It almost seems every other dragon I meet was a vampire once upon a time. Your story isn't all that different from mine.

I'm a vampire who transformed into a dragon long before achieving demonship which according to folklore takes normal creatures of the night to hibernate for at least 100 years. Although if you think that sounds like a weird story, my foster father managed to somehow achieve demonship within a matter of hours. *Takes a quick sip of my tea* If you'd like I guess I could explain it all although I we may be here a while so you better be ready to order more tea ^^'

She looked up from the tea and set it back on the table. "We can trade, a story for a story." Joy shifted her wings a bit, folding them more to the contours of the short chair. Fine, I'll start *takes one last sip of my tea* Where to begin... My foster father's name was Zeruo Tselino Shade, he was an demon vampire archaeologist who studied demonic artifacts and their origin. Judging by evidence I found after his death it was clear he was not born nor aware that their was a world of demons all alike. And one day on an excavation in Egypt he uncovered me in a small gold casket. He found me in a comatose like state which I would assume was me being in a hibernation state towards demonhood. I'm guessing I was awoken too soon because of the lacking evidence of my demonship. By the time I woke up I was in his estate in England, giving off a strong cry like I was just born. At the time I was convinced I was his child. He trained me, fed me, brought me up to adulthood. He was a great father *Looks down, smiling brightly into my tea* I wanted to be an archaeologist like him so he taught me how to examine artifacts too. Everything changed though when he brought me on a trip to New York in America. We didn't exactly play by legal rules so we snuck into a museum where an ancient artifact was being kept. A somewhat large golden box. We opened it and that's when my life changed completely...

The box we opened unleashed an incredibly unusual demonic essence. This is when I began to figure out Zeruo wasn't my father. When we came into contact with the essence, we both released different life force energies. It was as if the box was validating life nearby. Zeruo taught me that different creatures have different life force energies. If you were of the same bloodline then you would release the same energy, but I released a different one compared to Zeruo. We closed the box up and took it with us back to England where I demanded he explained, and he did. During my time growing up I kept remembering fragments of memories I was in no way familiar with. It was as if I was re-living a past life. Zeruo spent years examining the casket I came in and found that it was covered in special demon seals. Then it became clear. The memory fragments I kept remember actually were of my past life. The casket was designed was designed to reshape dependent on the size of the user inside. And the seals placed on it were to reverse the aging process.

It was as if I was entangled between wanting to know more about who I really am and wanting to keep my normal life with Zeruo. I didn't get the choice in the end. Zeruo found another artifact while I was still coming to terms with this knowledge month's after finding out. When he uncovered it he was killed by the Overlord of the Eastern Underworld. I'm guessing my uncovering set off some kind of disturbance which drew him to finding me. I came to terms with this new knowledge and set out after my father to help him find the new artifact. When I arrived I couldn't find him and the excavation site was buried and hidden so I wouldn't find it, or him. I thought he went back home and I must've missed him. When I got back home the estate was burning down. In a panic I tried broke into the falling wreckage trying to find him. When I got into his study I found that all the artifacts he uncovered as well as all the study notes he left were ALL gone. Many of which were incredibly dangerous. I didn't know what to make of it all. I was without a father, without a home and now without a life at all.

To pursue my dad's murderer, recover the stolen artifacts and notes and find out who I truly am. This was the beginning of my story. During the time after my fathers murder I travelled around searching, recovering several artifacts and notes, it was then I realized some of the notes I recovered wasn't dedicated to the study of these artifacts. It was the study of me. Zeruo wanted to find my origin and in doing so found the existence of the Underworld when he investigated the Egyptian ruins where he uncovered me. This brought me closer to finding my real origin. When I finally managed to recover all the artifacts and notes I found that some sort of cult dedicated to the worship of the Overlord had gathered them so that they could travel beyond. Eventually I brought down the cult and ensured they'd never be a threat ever again. My dad's note depicted the artifacts as not only being dangerous symbols of power but also a puzzle to opening a portal to the underworld. So I put them together and the portal to the underworld opened for me. Upon being brought together the puzzle turned into a ankh which would allow me to travel to and from the Underworld as I pleased. I expected a literal hell as depicted in the folk lore but surprisingly it was not so. It was a large world populated by demons that was immensely different than Earth but still at the same time habitable. This is when I began to discover I wasn't even a vampire...

When it came to fruition I realized I had grown horns out the top of my head and wings and a tail. My skin color also began to change from pale white to dark-ish blue. I also grew some larger ears. And when this happened it hit me right away. I was of dragon blood. I already knew I was of royal blood when I put the memory fragments together in my head but when I put 2 and 2 together I ultimately realized it. I was the next Overlord of the Eastern Underworld.
