"Yeah, she will." Maebe answered, the truth offering no filter in her voice. She laughed when he asked her - now, of all times - if she was lonely. "I'm super lonely. Are you kidding me?" She leaned against the cardboard, and pretended it was him. "You know me better than almost anyone, Otto. Do I seem like the kind of person who would make the effort to find cardboard, cut it out, and hell, not just that - actually put enough thought into things to think this dumb idea up anyway? If it wasn't an emergency? Of course I'm lonely." She said it all with that little smile in her voice, the one that kept people from worrying too much. It never seemed that bad, coming from her. "Aren't you?"

She was lonely. Cami would be lonely. But for the sake of them all, they needed to be apart and re access themselves. At least, that's what he thought this was. Was he not just pushing them away? Maybe. One thing was for certain; he could not be in a relationship. That was the only thing he knew as truth. It wasn't fair to them. It wasn't fair to him. But just what was he doing anymore? Otto fell a bit, sinking into the couch and slouching his posture. "I guess. A bit." He replied, feeling like an a** for not being as desperately lonely as she was. Sometimes he wished he could disappear. Down a hole, and never come out. Sleep for one hundred years. Fade into the ethers of the universe. This being one of those times. "Not as lonely as I should be."

"Who the hell gets to tell you how lonely you should be?" She reminded him, her head turning towards him, only to remember that all she could see was a wall of white. "There's no mininum. No maximum. I'd be surprised if you weren't lonely, because we had that whole talk about how much you need someone to need you.. so.. like.. yeah. I figured you're lonely too. But now you're talking about measurements or whatever, as if you have to try and match or beat us." She used her other hand, reached over the wall, and bopped him playfully on the head. "Stop assuming you're always doing something wrong. It's so self-destructive. You start thinking you're terrible and then you act terrible. Oh, woe is me, I am the scum of the earth, it is such terrible torture. How about you start thinking you're a decent guy for once, and then see how that works out?"

He had to smile, albeit embarrassed and bashful, at Maebe's teasing words. He supposed that's how he sounded like, huh? A self proclaimed martyr of sorts? Or even worse; just plain depressing. It definitely wasn't a competition. No. More like self punishment, as usual. To justify his deeds, he punished himself and tried to put himself at a lower level than others. As if he belonged lower at all times. Just how he was raised. "If I tell myself I'm a decent guy, I might get a big head about it. Don't wanna end up arrogant." He half kidded, but these were his feelings, he supposed. "And.. I really don't wanna end up too happy if you aren't happy. Or if Cami isn't. I don't... feel like I should be out enjoying life if the people I hurt or leave behind aren't." He squirmed as he spoke, uncomfortable with what he was saying. "But then, the reason I wanted to be alone is so.. I could get myself back in a position where I can be honest with myself, and let it be. So, I guess I'm failing in that department."

She rolled her eyes, and she was glad he couldn't see it. "Stop basing your own happiness on the level of ours. I mean, we're not even dating anymore." It was the actual first time she'd ever admitted it. She was glad, once more, he couldn't see her face. "I'm not telling you to let all your troubles fly away and go party. I'm saying, stop saying you're horrible so much. It sounds exhausting." If he happened to be looking, he'd find that someone was cheating - a set of crystal blue eyes peeked curiously out from over the edge of the cardboard for a minute.

Basing his own happiness on theirs. Was that what he did? And how could he break from it? He needed to find a way past feeling selfish, and just accept and live by his own feelings. He needed to learn to be his own man. She was right. It was exhausting. They were not dating. He held no obligations to her or Cami. And he needed to accept that. He didn't immediately catch her spying, though he had felt the couch shift. He was biting his lip, thinking deeply about the whole thing. About himself, and his need to find validation in others. Or something to that effect. He felt eyes on him soon enough, and his gaze flicked up to check the great wall of cardboard for titans.

"No fair! You broke the rule!" Otto scolded, wanting to smack her arm for cheating. How come she got to peek at him but he didn't get to peek at her? Unfair. In a last ditch effort, he supposed he could whip out his phone and look at her Twitter picture while she spoke. He also had an arsenal of photos on his phone she likely took of herself after stealing it countless times. The gift that kept on giving.

She let out a groan, that turned into a laugh, and suddenly the wall disappeared behind her. "Okay, enough-" Was he.. Was he looking at pictures of.. "OTTO." Oooh, he was in so much trouble.

Otto gave her a confused look. "What? You got to look at me, so I'm doing the same. In a fair, non rule breaking way." He exclaimed matter of fact, his brows raised in confidence.

"I peeked. You are doing so much more than peeking, and - and some of those pictures are - " Her face was turning as red as it had ever been, but she didn't reach in to try and get the phone away from him, because she knew what would happen if she tried. She knew she'd crawl all over him, and they'd tussle, and wrestling would turn into tickling, and tickling would turn into something else, and- It was helpful, that she was already as red as a beet. The blush as she just sat there pouting at him was tremendous.

Otto smiled. She was red as an apple. He almost felt bad. "Sorry. I'll stop." He relented, pocketing the device and wiggling his free hand to show he no longer had it.

Putting it away was a relief, but Maebe felt stuck, as the wall wasn't going to work for her anymore that day, and neither was giving in to her desires. But they'd been together for a fair bit of time without ripping each others clothes off. That meant success, in her book. "It's - okay. I was probably going to head out soon, anyway. So you can go back to looking at me and - " Her smirk was helplessly lifting her lips. Her eyes were instinctively lidding, because the words didn't need to be said for her to start imagining what he was going to do with those pictures. " - Annnd, I'll leave you to it."

Otto's first reaction was to tell her to stop being gross. Luckily, he withheld that urge. He did, however, supply her an eye roll and an offended huff. "Take yer damn wall, then." He grumbled, getting up to stand. Was it so hard to believe he simply missed her face? Sigh says the emotionally burdened Otto. "N'... thanks for stoppin' by."

"Actually." She picked up the wall, and set it down beside the couch. "I was hoping you'd let me keep it here. I made it for you, after all. It's only going to get used when we're together, and I doubt you're coming down to see us commoners anytime soon, so I won't need it in my room." She had leaned over the couch to place the wall there, so when she straightened up again, she balled her legs up against her and held them there with her arms. Her head rested on her knees, and she gave him a dreadfully cute puppy eyed stare. "Please?"
