It surprised Ezekiel a bit, probably; for Lukas, it was rather like being hit by a bus. It slammed into him and he missed the way it knocked him to the ground, missed the cause of all the scuffs and bruises that he'd feel all too clearly as he blinked back into himself a few moments later, shield absolutely shattered and his head ringing wildly. Zik sat next to his hand, an ornate key and nothing more, and after a moment's pause he reached out to grab his weapon in one shaky hand, coughing dust.

Impressed by his own strength, or Lagertha's, Zeke was smiling as he trotted over to look down at the other man, offering him a hand up. "You alright?" Considering there were wards in place, he assumed so, but it was a social nicety to ask, and he hadn't been aiming to hurt Lukas.

"Had worse." It was his immediate reaction, even if his voice came out hoarse and distant, even if he fumbled just a bit before he took Zeke's hand. It would take all the other man's strength to haul him upright, likely, while Lukas still clung to his key and tried to get his head to settle down. "Why doesn't my weapon do that?"

"Really? That's impressive. Before, or after Being recruited?" He wasn't asking for details really, he was just always curious, always a little nosy. A grunt, as he hauled Lukas up to his feet, then held on for a moment so the shorter man could get his feet properly under him. "Dunno, they all do something different, depending on what they were before this." He glanced down at the pendant around his neck, then back at Lukas. "Mine was a valkyrie. Wind seems to be her thing."

"Mine was a dragon. By that logic, I should be able to unhinge my jaw and devour you whole." It was easily flippant, Lukas shaking his head -- and then regretting it. He still ached, a dull ache all over his body, and he rested a hand carefully against his side to make sure he was alright. "Jesus. Yeah. Being stabbed is worse, I'd say." And that with the voice of authority. "But it still hurts like hell."

"Unless your's is channeling it's fear differently," Zeke pointed out reasonably. "I haven't seen that many with elemental charges." Very few, in fact. The devouring comment earned a smirk. Since Zeke had only ever been stabbed on Deus, in the relative safety of the wards, he was going to have to take Lukas' word for it. Ever's dagger hurt, but not half as much as it should have. Lukas seemed to speak from real world experience. "You gunna make it? I can bring you to the infirmary otherwise."

"I'm fine." And he was -- he was just wobbly, struggling to keep upright, striving to catch his breath. All of Lukas hurt, and what he really wanted right now was a good hot bath. A shame all that was available was a cold, public shower. He rolled his shoulders and worked to settle, waving Zeke off. "We'll have to do this again, at some point." With a different outcome, hopefully. Lukas would like, just once, not to have his a** handed to him.

"Suit yourself." He'd offered. It was more than he'd have been willing to do for most people. Hands retreated to his pockets, and he flashed Lukas another easy smirk. "Sure, anytime you want to cross weapons, I'm game." He was tossing the other man's choice in words back at him. Teasing, but probably not insincere.
