Time seemed to slow as Ajicka tripped forward, falling fast—and then, suddenly, not falling at all. It was as if gravity had put up its coat and decided to take a break, and in that moment, she spotted the cliff edge in front of her, the other side of the gaping hole she had just been about to go barreling down, and reached out. Her hand grasped the ledge, her other arm swinging out and grabbing Bagon, and just as she pulled him close to her body, gravity kicked back in, and she dropped down, gritting her teeth as the weight of her body pulled hard on her arm and she hit the wall of the chasm. But she managed to keep her hold, and quickly, without much concern for hurting the sturdy pokemon, tossed Bagon up onto safe ground. He was too heavy to hold onto, let alone climb up with, and it was struggle enough to get her other hand up and drag herself up. Luckily there were a few foot holds, and she managed to scramble up, whipping her head around to look over her shoulder.
There was no sign of the thing she had seen, but she wasn’t taking any chances—with her and her pokemon on solid ground, she turned and quickly sprinted for the tunnel exit.

Back to the caves. Grayson couldn't help but to look around the mouth of Rock Tunnel, checking for any wild pokemon, before he started forward once more, no use in waiting around. "So, what do you do for fun?" he asked suddenly, keeping his voice relatively quiet so as not to startle any hanging Zubat; though they were good for battling he wasn't in the mood to deal with the screeching that would no doubt occur. "How random." The first sentence out of Emmet's mouth was a comment in lieu of an actual response, but after a moment the man exhaled softly and started in on an explanation. "I read, or attend local film festivals when I find myself with time to spare," he answered genuinely. "Though as of late I've found myself more preoccupied with my studies and experiments." Milking his Seviper for her poison, allowing Simore and his Swalot to consume different objects, edible and non, to observe whether or not it effected their PH balance; yes he'd kept quiet busy.
"Sounds boring," Grayson retorted without skipping a beat, then looked down to observe Emmet simply quirk an eyebrow in the dim light. "I wouldn't expect you to find my hobbies entertaining. Lounging seems more your forte," the man quipped back. Well, he had him there. Unbeknownst to the two gentlemen their arrival had piqued the interest of one of the tunnel's residence, and while maintaining a good distance it followed stealthily behind, keeping low to the ground and near the shadows.

Up on his perch Aita's ears twitched to the left, and then the right, as his attention fell away from the conversation between his trainer and the other human and he focused on the sounds of the tunnel, more specifically a certain sound that kept occurring every few seconds; it took the kitten a moment but he soon realized that they were being stalked. Unsure of what to do he sent out a mental alert to Grayson, informing him of their secret admirer, then waited for a reply, frowning lightly at the answer he received; he didn't want to just wait, but he trusted his trainer's judgement.
Unbeknownst to Aita, and their little stalker, Grayson had been aware of its presence almost the moment it had decided to tail them, something had gone off inside of his head; his sixth sense had been triggered. There was a ghost following him, and while usually he'd have sent Aita, or even Styx, out to chase it off he was left intrigued by the fact that he couldn't recognize what kind of pokemon it was. Of course that was to be expected, despite his family's... affinity for spirits he hadn't met every single last ghost type there was, that being said he'd wait until either the pokemon revealed itself or they got close to the tunnel's exit to make a move. He had the patience for either.

Throughout the rest of their journey Emmet and Grayson managed to have a surprisingly decent conversation, bouncing through a few random subjects before they settled on the topic of their various trainer experience, common ground for the both of them that didn't run the risk of bringing up anything too personal. Not surprising Emmet worked primarily with poison types, and had been with his current team for a good year now.
They were almost out of the cave when Grayson stopped and turned back around, narrowing his eyes in the dark. "I know you've been following us for a while now," he called out, voice echoing. "Come out now before you're dragged out." Emmet rose an eyebrow, a frown forming on his lips, but before he could go in to checking his companion's mental state a shuffling from further back caused him to shut his mouth. Grayson squinted at the small figure that guiltily came out, confusion briefly flickering across his visage. The creature looked like a Pikachu, at least upon first glance, but as it drew closer he saw that it was actually a Pikachu costume, or at least a poorly constructed one.
"Pikaaaaa~" the creature cried out, clearly trying to match the high-pitched cry of its disguise. Grayson snorted. "H-hey! Don't go dissin' me like that!" the creature snapped, immediately breaking character. "Didn't realize I was 'dissin' ya," was the male's only response, not at all surprised that the creature could actually speak; he'd already confirmed that this was the ghost that had been trailing them. "Well... you were! So say you're sorry, or I won't join you." Grayson cocked his head to the side, easily suppressing his smile, but eventually gave a nod, "sorry, sorry. But what makes you think that I'd want you to join me?" The creature scoffed, as if that was the most ridiculous question it'd ever heard, before it gave another 'pika'. "Who wouldn't want a talkin' Pikachu?" it quipped back, its tail wagging back and forth in a display that was clearly meant to be cute.

Grayson stared blankly at the creature, unsure if it was serious, but after a moment he relaxed and leaned back on his heels; alright, he'd play along. "Sorry, I'm not interested in Pikachu, talkin' or not," he informed, before he reached out to scratch Aita underneath the chin and gesture to Styx. "I only take in ghost types, they're far more useful to me." The creature's face didn't reveal its reaction--in fact he was having trouble identifying where its real face even was--but after a moment it shuffled a bit closer. "Do you.. do you need anymore ghosts on your team?" it asked, tone hopeful. "I-I'm just askin' for a friend." Grayson nodded slowly, as if that was plausible, before he shrugged, "I've got a pretty full team," he replied, then watched as the creature deflated. "But, I'm always willin' to take in a new addition, given they offer me something new."
At this news the creature immediately perked up, and the base of its costume began to wiggle-- that was odd looking. "Well, you're in luck! 'Cause I've got somethin' that no one else can give ya!" The creature drew an inch closer to Grayson, practically vibrating with excitement. "See 'cause I'm not actually a Pikachu, surprisin' I know, I'm a ghost! A ghost and fairy type! The only kind out there!" the creature announced, pleased with itself. "Huh." Grayson had to admit, that was new, but he wasn't convinced entirely. "Aita, give 'em a whack," he said suddenly, taking the ghost/fairy by surprise. The Magikit responded immediately, flying down from off his trainer's shoulder and swiping furiously at the creature. There was a snapping sound and suddenly Grayson found himself staring at what appeared to be a Pikachu with a broken neck.

With slightly widened eyes Grayson stared at the creature, its broken neck a... sudden turn of events. He looked over at Emmet, who seemed just as surprised as he was, then over to Aita whose facial expression mirrored his own. They were gonna have to bury a body, weren't they? "H-hey! What'd you do that for!?" the creature shouted indigently, its sudden outburst causing Aita to yowl in surprise before he went flying back to Grayson, hiding behind his shoulder. When the creature didn't receive an answer it only grew angrier, "Do you know how long it took to get this costume looking like this? Four hours, and that was just the head alone!"
Through its laments Grayson found the corner of his mouth quirking up in the beginning of a smile before he gave a short guffaw of a laugh, the sound earning a stare from Styx and the creature. "What? You find this funny?" the latter bristled, staring up at him. "Just a bit," he admitted, clearing his throat. "I'll take you, if you want." That news certainly got a reaction, the creature staring at the teen in shock before it gave a joyous cry and jumped up. "R-really!? Hot damn! Thank you!" Through its celebrating Grayson pulled out his pokedex, scanning the pokemon, then read over the entry that came up. "Mimikyu, huh? Alright, cool." From out of his bag Grayson pulled out a pokeball and enlarged it, "stay still for a moment," he commanded then tossed the ball out, easily capturing the excited Mimikyu and sucking it into the capsule. It fell to the ground with a clatter and shook three times before it grew still, the Mimikyu making a reappearance a half second later.
"You won't regret this, alright? I promise!" Mimikyu sniffled, almost as if he was going to cry, but after gathering himself he made a beeline for the exit, "come on! Let's not waste any time!" he called out. Grayson snorted and watched his newest addition leave the tunnel, stopping at its mouth to turn around and wait for him. He was certainly interesting. Emmet, who'd kept quiet throughout the entire interaction, chuckled dryly before he began walking, "congratulations, you've caught your first Alolan pokemon," he mused.

Another addition was added to the Pokedex as the girl returned the butterfly back into its ball. Her allies were growing more numerous by the day. Misa was always getting one step closer to fulfilling the Pokedex even while she was completely aware of there being a lot of work left to do. Still, it was nice just to catch one Pokemon a day. The Machop was already sent to the PC but its data was nicely registered in the palm of her hands. ”I gotta make sure that I don’t overlook any Pokemon in this area.”

The only desirable Pokemon in the area were a Voltorb and an Onix. The Voltorb she could catch at the Power Plant on a different day but the Onix was the one she wasn’t 100% sure on. The girl wasn’t aware of any other Onix in the area of Kanto. The only exception would be to find a Onix on Victory Road but they were ridiculously strong. If the girl wanted to raise a Onix from the weakest level then this area was the place to be. She wasn’t too keen on raising a Voltorb since their signature move was Explosion along with their evolution.

For now, Misa’s sights would be looking for a Onix in the area. That might be asking much since Onix weren’t all that common. Maybe if she were to look for Black Flutes in the area she could definitely find an Onix in no time. Then again, there was no rush. Graveler and Dugtrio were all ready for the upcoming Gym Battle. Sandslash was almost there too so there was definitely nothing to sweat over when it came to time crunching. For now, Misa would try to find some training partners for her Pokemon.
