Cheria tilted her head a bit when Marx grabbed a Poke Ball and releasing a Grovyle. She watched as the Wood Gecko Pokemon looked at her for a moment and then closed his eyes to stand where he was. He didn't seem as affectionate as Flygon was, which was probably for the best. Had the Kirlia mentioned her maybe? Her attention returning to Marx, she blinked and gave a curious - yet worried - look. He didn't...think he'd been to Kalos? His intellegence was questionable. But, she thought he was adorable. Marx walked over to stand near Flygon, and even though she was growing a bit comfortable around Marx, he was still a guy, and she moved away from him. "It's, uh....Coumarine is a port city. It's where Kalos' fourth gym is. Um....Wait. Santalune, Cyllage, Shalour....Yeah. Fourth gym."

Cheria moving away didn't seem to bother Marx this time, though it was hard to tell if he even noticed. He did shift to face her, though, his hand falling still on Flygon's antennae, making her look sideways at him, to see why he had stopped petting her. "Fourth gym huh..." he remarked, raising one eyebrow but lowering the other in a worried, contemplative look as he raised his gaze to the sky, "I bet their pokemon are pretty strong..." Which was another reminder he should probably be training. The second gym hadn't been that hard for him, but that was because he had used type advantages to bring the opponent's pokemon down. He was probably going to have to train a lot more before he could take on the third gym, let alone the fourth....
"Hey, how long are you planning to be in Hoenn?" he asked, dropping his gaze to her with a smile, apparently hit with a sudden idea. Flygon gave an impatient churr, nudging Marx hard enough to make him side step, but he simply gave her a small glance and a smile, returning to gently rubbing her head, making her give a purring little trill of appreciation.

Marx suddenly went into some sort of thoughtful trance. It was silly. He seemed to be thinking about the strength of the Pokemon in Kalos. And, for more than a few minutes, too. He suddenly snapped out of it and asked how long she'd be in Hoenn. The immediate change in his behavior made her stare wide-eyed at him for a moment. "Uh....Well, I thought I'd try for the badges here. And, Hoenn has some great picture places and Pokemon. Like your Grovyle....May I?"

Marx tilted his head when he noticed her staring at him with wide eyes, clearly completely unaware of his borderline-spastic flip-flopping behavior. He smiled, though, when she said she was actually planning on traveling around a bit and getting gym badges, a light smile crossing his face, instead of his usual overly energetic, boyish grin. That turned into a slightly surprised look when she seemed to ask for permission to photo Basil, though, and he looked over at the pokemon, who also lifted his head, catching on. "Gro?" he muttered, looking over at them, as though just woken from a nap.
Marx, looked back at him, then gave a shrug and smiled at the girl. "Sure, if he doesn't mind," he replied lightly. "... Vyle..." Basil seemed to almost blush, then slowly shrink back down into laying on the grass, clearly embarrassed at being noticed. Obviously, he was not nearly as photogenic, or at least pose-happy, as Flygon was.
"Heh, go ahead," Marx amended, looking at the grass pokemon, "I don't think he'll care. He's just shy.""Gro. Grovyle," the pokemon muttered in retort, but didn't move from his relaxed position. The brunette shifted his attention from his starter back to Cheria, tilting his head to the side a bit with a sort of uncertain, questioning sort of smile. "Well, if you want, I can try and help you get around Hoenn. I gotta go to the Ranger school at some point, but honestly, I should probably try and train my pokemon some too, so...." He glanced at the girl's kirlia, as if looking to see whether he should shut up or not. He wanted to be friendly, and helpful, but.... she seemed so scared of him, he wasnt' really sure what would be helpful....

Cheria giggled a bit at Grovyle's reaction to her request. It was so cute! "Well, he shouldn't be. He's a very handsome Pokemon." Once again, she got out her camera and took the picture of the relaxed Grovyle. They really were cool Pokemon. After checking the picture, and saving it after she was sure she was satisfied with the image, she put her camera up and looked up at Marx again. "You mean....T-Travel with you...?" Cheria looked down and hugged herself as she thought. Aaron, who had remained quietly off to the side with Sheena, looked up when Marx looked at him. "...I think you should. He hardly seems dangerous, and if he does try to hurt you, Michonne's always around to help. Give it a try, Cheria." Looking at Aaron, Cheria took a breath to relax again. "...Ranger School? Do you want to be a Ranger?"

Marx smiled as Grovyle flinched at the compliment and visibly blushed a bit, but fiercely tried to remain stoic and unfazed. He laughed a little, then looked back at Cheria, tilting his head with his hands laced together behind, shoulders raised in a slight shrug. "Sure, why not?" he replied, glancing again at the gril's Kirlia, "I mean, if you want." Was he communicating with her? He couldn't tell. He sort of wished Felix hadn't retreated to his pokeball, so he could have a better idea, buuuut... technically, he probably shouldn't be relying on a psychic pokemon, even if it had been traded to him to help him out.
Giving a nod, he dropped his hands to his sides, placing them in his pockets and rocking back on his heels a bit, fingers tapping inside his pockets. "Yup yup," he replied, then grinned sheepishly, ducking his head down a little. "Well, kind of," he admittedly corrected, only to straighten up. He was starting to get a bit fidgety again. "I want to try being a Ranger, but I also want to try contests, and gym battles, and pretty much anything I can," he admitted, starting to rock back and forth a bit, "I just haven't been able to really get into the first two things very much, yet." He rubbed the back of his neck and gave a helpless little shrug and smile, still wondering whether she would be interested in tagging along, or even just traveling together for a bit.

Raising his eyebrows, Marx tried to think back on his words, then gave another slightly embarrassed smile. "Contests, and Rangers," he clarified, holding up one finger, than the other, "Sorry." He must have been getting way too energetic if he was already starting to talk over himself. He straightened up, then smiled and perked up when she seemed to actually show some interest in the Ranger School. Whether it was just out of curiosity, or because she was considering traveling together, he wasn't sure, but he was happy to see he wasn't scaring her away or anything!
"You have to take the train! I think pretty much all of them go by it, one way or another. But once you get your styl... styler? Stylus? This tool that rangers use. Once you get that, you can do missions located wherever, and capture pokemon temporarily to help out~ I've never been able to try anything like that, so I figured I'd at least give it a shot," he explained, hands in his pockets, trying to keep his excitement at the idea at least somewhat contained.
He lowered his shoulders and looked at her when she mentioned exchanging codes, surprised that she asked, but then giving a nod and taking his off to hand to her. "Yeah! Here, you can program yours in mine, and then I can send you my info so that we can contact each other!" he agreed enthusiastically. He'd barely met the girl, but he was always happy to have another friend, or someone he could hopefully soon consider to be a friend. And she seemed nice. Shy, a little jumpy, but really nice.

So, Marx had earned experience as a trainer, but not as a coordinator and ranger. He was pretty much trying out everything. Was it to see what it him best or just to do it? Well, she thought it was a neat idea. Hearing she'd have to take the train, Cheria paled. So soon after her last experience? Oh, no. Wasn't there a taxi service or something? "Capture styler." She gave a small smile to Marx. Stylus sounded like something that would have suited the job better, though. Talking about experience seemed to excite Marx, which she thought was kind of cute. Again, if only she wasn't going to flip whenever he was within a foot of her. Marx accepted her offer and took out his holo caster, handing it to her. She liked that idea. Aaron jumped into action and went over to Marx, taking the device carefully and giving it to Cheria. She...probably could have handled grabbing it herself, but she greatly appreciated Aaron's gesture regardless.
After programming her information into his holo caster, Cheria hesitated before moving forward to return it to Marx. She even managed to stay put for about a minute before shaking her head and going back to stand next to Aaron and Sheena again. It was only then she thought of the idea of using the scanning program to share information, and she smacked her head. Cheria was an idiot sometimes. "Um....Would it be okay if--Huh?" She looked over when Sheena jumped onto her shoulder and handed her a dawn stone. Where did she...? Well, the rule of traveling was literally "finders keepers". Everyone knew that. "Thank you, Sheena~. Anyway....Would you mind if I visited the Pokemon Center before we, uh...leave for the train?" She had completely let Jun slip her mind, and the Scatterbug still needed to be treated. She was an awful trainer!

The brunette perked up when Cheria correctly named the tool the rangers used, grinning brightly. "Yeah, that!" he confirmed, though... it was probably unnecessary, "I gotta get one of those things!" He watched as the kirlia fetched his holocaster, shoving his hands into his pockets and gazing on curiously while the pokemon handed it over. He tapped his fingers against his legs, eyes darting elsewhere as he tapped his foot a bit, letting Cheria put her information into his holo caster.
He blinked, though, when she actually came over, forcing himself to relax, and giving a smile as he reached out to take it back. "Thanks!" he said, placing it back on and checking the info. He looked up when she smacked her head, quirking an eyebrow. Before he could ask if she was okay, she started speaking, only to cut herself off as her pokemon handed her something. Was that a sort of stone? He leaned forward a little, gazing curiously at it, but then straightened as she spoke again, giving a surprised nod. "Oh yeah, of course!" he said, smiling and moving out of the way so she could go into the pokecenter, "So, you're coming then?" He seemed rather happy that he was going to get to have some company to the Ranger School after all.

Cheria smiled a bit as she moved to go around him and get into the building she intended on entering before bumping into Marx. "I...don't see the harm in it. So, yes. I'll...go with you." Her cheeks heated a bit before she walked into the medical facility and went up to the counter. Grabbing Jun's ball, she handed it to Joy. "Can you treat him?""Of course." Cheria waited patiently for Joy to treat Jun, and then took the ball back after. "Thank you." Cheria let the Scatterbug out and let him crawl up to her shoulder, where she pet it gently. He was a cute little thing. "Okay....I think I'm ready. Even if it's another train."

Brightening noticeably, Marx gave a nod, following Cheria into the pokecenter, but hanging back, to give the girl space and not crowd the counter. He looked back over his shoulder as Flygon and Basil began following, a light smile on his face. "Sorry guys, you should probably go back into your pokeballs," he remarked, holding up the spheres. Basil gave him a dull but accepting stare, while Flygon let out a lamenting little cry, before both were returned.
Marx turned back as Cheria was receiving her pokemon, smiling and shoving his hands into his pockets. "Great!" he remarked, lacing his fingers behind his head and heading for the door. He gave her a curious look, though, as he headed for the exit towards Littleroot, where the train station was. "You don't like trains?" he asked curiously as they walked.

Cheria gave a semi-forced smile at Marx's exclamation before putting Jun's ball back onto her belt. She then following him from the Pokemon Center and towards Littleroot again. There went her training, but that could wait. They seemed to get stronger doing nothing anyway. At Marx's question, she looked down and stroked a clump of hair nervously. "Bug?""Trains are...too crowded." She wondered if he even realized she was scared of guys yet, or if it just flew over his head. Aaron rolled his eyes a bit, but Sheena and Jun were horribly confused. "Lamebrains. She's scared of guys." The Froakie and Scatterbug gave surprised expressions, though Sheena recovered quickly as she realized it all made sense suddenly. "Um....I wonder how much it costs to get one of those private rooms."

Quirking an eyebrow, Marx gave Cheria a questioning sort of look when she explained her feelings towards trains. "Hmm..." He hummed thoughtfully, though it was a miracle there wasn't smoke rolling from his ears with the gears in his brain cranking to work. He was starting to catch on... kind of. He figured she was shy, and this seemed to kind of support it, but... she hadn't been that uncertain around Nurse Joy. Not that he really consciously noticed that-- it was more something he caught onto on an unconscious level, giving him a simple feeling that there was something else.
"Oh, uh, I dunno," he remarked, pulling out of his thoughts a bit at her musings, "Probably a bit extra. I guess we could check when we get there if you want. Do you not like crowds? Are you shy?" He looked down at her curiously as they left Oldale, exiting the cities limits.

Cheria figured. Things like that usually did cost more, unless you were a VIP like the old lady had been. If it cost too much, she'd just have to deal with it and hide curled up in the corner of a seat again. "I love people! I just....Certain people scare me...." Yeah. As if she could tell Marx males scared her and run the risk of making him feel bad. He was just...too sweet to tell now. Maybe if it was ever brought up, she'd tell him, but not at this time.
