Marx held the rod, but blinked when he suddenly caught a pokemon, which Vaporeon immediately went after. It... wasn't exactly an impressive battle, with her essentially beating the fish pokemon into submission with several quick attacks, but in the end, she was victorious, and looked.. quite proud of that fact as she surfaced. Marx blinked, but seemed to suddenly remember something and pulled out a pokeball, throwing it into the water, successfully catching the pokemon. "You wanted one of these, right?" he asked, lifting the pokeball and looking at Cheria curiously. He had sort of... missed the little exchange between her pokemon, but he did remember her saying that she liked Magikarp. It looked like she hadn't managed to catch the Seel Sheena had gone after, too...

Cheria blinked when she spotted Marx's Vaporeon. That...was a Vaporeon, right? It was so uniquely colored she felt it could be some sort of relative of the Bubble Jet Pokémon. But, it wasn't. Just a Vaporeon with odd coloring. The Vaporeon jumped into the water to fight Magikarp, emerging victorious. Marx quickly caught the red fish and asked if she wanted it still, and Cheria beamed and her hands wrapped around the Poké Ball happily. "Yes! Are you sure I can take it~?"

Vaporeon climbed out onto the dock as she watched the two, looking between them and then sitting down, holding her head high. Basil seemed to roll his eyes a bit at her, but then closed them, leaning back against one of the legs that protruded up past the level of the dock where boats could be tied to. Zubat continued to flutter around, then swept down, landing on Marx's shoulder, and, despite being blind, appearing to stare attentively at something in the air. Marx smiled a little at the pokemon and gave him a little pat, then looked back towards Cheria.
He smiled as she agreed to take the pokemon, but blinked when she reached for it. He didn't pull away, but he didn't let go, either, offering a small sort of smile. "Heh, I think we still have to trade it, actually," he admitted, "Something about trainer registration and stuff. But if you want, we can go to the cave now, and you can just catch whatever and we can trade then! And then I can just release the pokemon after we trade!" He gave his usual grin, hoping that the idea would be alright with her, since they needed to go to the cave to train a bit anyway.

Cheria blushed heavily and let go of the ball, holding her hands behind her back as she gave an embarrassed grin. "R-Right! Of course! I know that!" She looked away shyly and scratched her cheek before turning away and looking back at Marx. "Alright. One quick trip to Granite Cave and then it's trade time~!"

Grinning, Marx nodded, tucking the pokeball away. "Great! Let's go!" he exclaimed, reaching to take her hand, and then bolting for the cave. He was so glad he was able to catch the pokemon for her-- and hopefully she could find something so they could trade and she could get it! Though, she had mentioned she wanted a Zubat, too, so maybe they would do a bit of training and such so she could catch one before they left to the pokecenter to officialize the exchange. And who knows! Maybe he'd be able to find another pokemon he hadn't caught yet!
He grinned a bit as Zubat gave a screech on his shoulder, likely recognizing the cave as they raced towards it. Luckily, he at least remembered to return Vaporeon before taking off, but Basil he left out, the grass type taking off to follow just behind them.

Marx took advantage of the silence to check his holo caster as they walked out of the cave, absently switching some of his pokemon around a bit. Before he could manage to start any of the replies he had got, though, something suddenly swooped down out of the air to clip his head. "Ack! Wh-what was that!?" he yelped, ducking and letting go of Cheria's hand. He looked up, noticing a yellow bird pokemon flapping around, before landing in front of him. He blinked, staring at it, then glanced at Cheria. "Huh, I... Oh hey! I can practice with my styler!" he suddenly realized, quickly whipping the device out, and shifting to try and catch the pokemon. This would be his first real attempt....
'Marx, I think it's too strong to catch with your stylus. You should battle it...' Felix's voice floated in. Marx blinked, pouted, but pulled out his pokeball, sending out Shroomish instead. The exchange was pretty quick, but... he actually managed to catch it! "Huh! All kinds of pokemon popping up," he remarked, grinning at Cheria as he tucked the pokeball away.

I'm glad I could help!" he replied excitedly, then turned, holding the pokeball out, and releasing the pokeball. "Chan! Chansey~!" the pokemon straightened up after shaking her head as she was released, placing her hands on her hips and looking up at Marx. "Chan. Chansey chansey," she remarked. "Hehe! Cheria watched the interaction between Marx and Chansey, wondering what he'd end up naming her. She decided to gibe Magikarp a name to commemorate the trade, and settled on Alamas. For now, at least. Cheria may come up with a more original name later on. But....Marx kind of reminded her of Magikarp, so it fit. She just hoped it didn't mean anything weird in some other language. "That'd be great. Almost the instant the four returned to town Slade requested he be returned to his pokeball, the sunlight had proven to be too much to him, witling down their number to three. Perhaps it was because their numbers had gone down, but a Pelipper decided, in that moment, to swoop down and caw out a challenge, to which Alexandra accepted.. after she'd gotten over her original bewilderment. Despite the type disadvantage, Alexandra let out Faye who ended the battle instantly with Power Whip.
"Oh." she blinked several times, chocolate brown orbs cutting from the unconscious Pelipper to the eager, and squirming, Bulbasaur who bounded over to her, obviously pleased with her overzealous attack. And she was too. "Good job, Faye." she smiled down at her, recognizing her accomplishment with praise and a light pat.

No sooner had Alexandra straightened back up then she was dive bombed by a Wingull, enraged that its companion had been knocked unconscious. Unfortunately for it, it never had the chance to exact its revenge as Faye slapped it down from the ground with another Power Whip. The brunette winced lightly and spared another shocked glance at Faye, only to find her busy digging in the sand-- any previous interest in the Wingull now gone. "Bulba!" from the hole she produced a disk, a TM, and with extended vines happily handed it over to Alexandra.
"Solar Beam." Alexandra read the name of the TM out loud, impressed by her pokemon's find. She was tempted to have Faye learn the move, doubling as both a reward and battle tactic, but she already had one powerful grass-type attack, and one that attacked instantly instead of waiting a turn like Solar Beam did, this move was better of being learned by another. "Excellent find." the brunette spoke as she placed the TM away and swiveled back around with Faye's pokeball in her hand, returning her to the red and white capsule with a smile.
Alexandra turned to look at her other two pokemon, eyeing them both curiously. Xion had worn herself out with all the running she'd done back in Granite Cave, and Caldo still hadn't been properly healed. It looked like a visit to the pokemon center was in order.
