"Cool." He grinned but he clearly had no idea what it was, he could guess it was a shop based on the context and they probably sold clothes, that much he was certain. But it has mysterious name and could have sold any number of different styles, not wanting to ruin the surprise he decided not to question her about it. He followed her while keeping at her side, it wasn't easy for him, he would catch something out of the corner of his eye and want to run off to see what it was but at the last second seem to catch himself and push the desire away. Her question threw him a little and he had to think about it before answering, he wanted to give a little more than 'interesting things' but struggled to put them all into words at first. "Well, lets see..." He scratched his chin and then decided to start with something general. "I do odd jobs for people, from finding keys to being hired muscle, though that doesn't tend to go well." He wasn't exactly built for fighting. "While I'm not busy doing that I play my music, go see my bookie and hang out in gambling houses. If I'm really bored I pick fights with crazy looking people in dark alleys and run off. Sometimes I even get away." There was a reason why he spent so much time in her clinic after all. Thankfully he hadn't been seriously injured yet, but it was only a matter of time before everything got out of hand and he lost more than he bargained for. "That sounds a lot more dangerous when you say it out loud. Ah well, whatever." He shrugged and checked she was still there, if she was looking for a way to escape he would understand. "My gods keep my financially covered so I'm free to do interesting things." He thought nothing more of it.
⊱xxxxChiaki shook her head, "Good grief, James... No wonder I see you so often..." Chiaki was quite obviously against violence. Although, she did like seeing new types of injuries that she could mend. She smiled at him when he looked down at her. They came upon a quite busy part of the street so Chiaki looped her arm with James. "Don't get lost..." She said, leading him through the crowd. Soon enough she approached Ceiba SF, "There it is... They always have the newest styles... They have quite the variety too, so I usually only need to come here and no other stores..." Chiaki told him, leading him into the store. Looking over at him she looked at him curiously, "If they support you financially, why do you feel the need to take jobs?" She asked, half-mindedly browsing through the selection screens. Chiaki wanted to keep a conversation going so she wouldn't bore James, even if he did seem to have interest in her. Selecting a dress, Chiaki allowed it to change her outfit immediately. She then looked in a reflector and took a look at how it fit her. xxxx⊰

He shrugged off her distress, getting hurt was a part of keeping things interesting, why walk down stairs when you could jump twenty and do a flip in the process? Admittedly he took things a little too far sometimes but then again he had a reason to over do it. "As if I would get lost..." He looked away for a second and immediately lost her amongst the other people, he immediately went into 'annoy mode' and started jabbing people left and right as he cleared a space for himself, it didn't take long to spot her after that, the crowd learned not to mess with his elbows and rapid, jerky movement. One woman went as far as diving out of the way to save herself, it was anyone's guess why as he was already back by Chiaki's side and behaving normally again. Hopefully she would overlook his little performance, or put it down to some form of interpretive dance. "Ooh, I suppose I could do with a new jacket, this one is starting to show the wear and tear of day to day life." He was right, the stitching under the arm was coming loose and if he wasn't careful the arm might fall off before too long. He followed her around the store, while he wasn't particularly interested in the clothes he always found people watching interesting, normal people sure did some funny things. "A means to an end; even I need money to survive, I need to be alive to do interesting things, and they want to see interesting things. I mean killing everyone is a last resort, first they deduct my allowance." He glanced away while she changed, even if it was a split second thing it felt like the right thing to do. "Looks nice. Goes with your hair." He offered his opinion but was prepared for her to immediately change her mind.
⊱xxxx Chiaki nodded when James said he needed a new jacket, and from the look of the one he was wearing, that was an understatement. Moving around she viewed a few of the men's selections. "How about this one?" She asked, pointing to it.
Chiaki nodded to his explanation for working. "I see..." She told him, "Could interesting include things that weren't so dangerous?" She asked raising a light eyebrow at him. When he complimented the dress she had chosen, Chiaki smiled and looked back at the reflector to view herself again, "You think so?" She asked rhetorically. With a smile she straightened the outfit and let her long hair fall in front of her. "I think you're right..." Chiaki decided with a nod. She clicked a button that allowed her to purchase the dress, which would then be delivered straight to her home. Now she needed something to contrast the white dress so she walked over to find a black one. Changing into another dress she looked over at James, now valuing his opinion, "What do you think of this one?"xxxx⊰

He followed her to the men's section, he was starting to feel like a lamb being lead to slaughter, first they would dress him in fine garbs then whoosh! A big, sharp knife comes from nowhere and slices his throat open, then comes the chanting. He didn't voice these concerns as he felt she would be offended by the notion. "I don't think so, I was thinking of getting something a little more bright next time. Maybe with a red stripe of something." He was an oddly fussy shopper, always wanting something that he wold probably never find, he was lucky he knew a good tailor otherwise he would probably spend most of his time walking about hating the clothes on his back. He looked over when she mentioned interesting things not being dangerous. "Of course. I spent a day in the space port last week learning about cargo ships, they commended me on how much I had retained." It wasn't really a day to day affair and more of a treat organised by his bookie so he hadn't bothered mentioning it before. "Most of the time, they seem to find things to do with music and learning to be more interesting than fighting and gambling. Most of the time." Living dangerously just the most fun way he had found to please his gods. He looked at her new dress, the groves reminded him of the impact of a meteorite for some reason. "It goes well with your eyes, both have that sudden impact look." He hoped she would take that as the compliment it was and not question his reasoning.
(OOC: The jacket wouldn't load, so if it looked like I described, that's why.)
⊱xxxx Chiaki nodded thoughtfully at James odd request for a jacket. "Maybe you could find a custom shop near here... I know there are a few around here somewhere..." She said tapping her chin lightly with her pointer finger. While she was listening to James she bought a few more outfits. "So I suppose it just depends on the day, then?" She asked, still trying to wrap her head around the details of James' beliefs. Chiaki kept on the black dress, glad to be in something new and exciting. Not to mention James had no complaints about it. "Would you like to look for a custom shop, then you may not feel so out of place..." She offered with a light shrug. xxxx⊰

"Sure, maybe I can get a white jacket and we can pull off a little ultra violence." He grinned. He had seen a lot of old films while he was growing up on Calisto and plenty of them had rubbed off on him. Though with todays climate for music being what it was he doubted anyone would get his film choices, let alone understand his dated references. At least it made him happy. "Well as long as you've finished, that is. Lead the way." He started playing the air guitar for himself, well it wasn't anything impressive, just the generic store music that was playing while they walked around. "Do you play an instrument?" He asked out of the blue but really the question had only just popped into his head, he had been quite insistent on forcing her to sing earlier he had over looked the idea that she might just know how to play something herself. He held his fingers still for a moment as the song degenerated into a series of boops then joined in again as it picked up.
The limousine pulled slowly into the Emporium after circling around once to allow the girls a small preview of where they would be shopping. Once the vehicle came to a halt the doors slid open and the Senator stepped out. He didn't come here often. Most of the time he needed something he would send one of his men to get it for him. Being out in the open was great when it came to press related matters but when he was outside to get things he was far to exposed. There were too many chances for attacks or robbery. Fortunately the Senator wasn't worried about that happening here. He had far too many guards around and his children provided the perfect reason to be seen in public performing day to day activities. While most of the paparazzi had been ditched back at the spaceport there were still some citizens snapping quick photos of the senator whenever they could. They thought he didn't noticed but he did. "Alright girls, where to first?"
⊱xxxx Chiaki chuckled and smiled at his comment, not exactly getting what he meant though. She was getting use to his random remarks. When asked if she was finished, she smiled and nodded to him. This time as she led him out of the store she looped her arm with his. "This time, hopefully you won't get lost..." Chiaki told him jokingly as she led him down the street. "I knew there was one around here somewhere...." She said looking down the street at shop names. She looked over at James when he asked if she played an instrument. "Well, when I was younger I use to play the Escala equilivent to a violin..." She explained. "When I got into the engineering and medical fields I lost touch with the instrument though..." Chiaki added as they continued walking. xxxx⊰

"Ha. As if I would." He grinned, knowing full well that he could get lost looking for his bathroom. It wasn't uncommon for him to disappear for weeks without a trace only to suddenly appear somewhere familiar, he found it was just another thing that spiced up his life. He let her lead but kept close this time, he was intent on showing her how restrained he could be, lull her into believing he was rational. There wasn't a deeper meaning behind it, he just wanted to be around someone and most people avoided crazy. "Is the Escala variety that different?" It was a genuine question, he had very little idea what the difference in their races was and seldom brought it up because that was rude. That being said they didn't really have too many physical differences, so unless they made it out of gloop or played it telepathically he couldn't see what the difference might be. "If know how to play a violin then do you want to take a crack at the monster on back? She's a savage one, not at all refined like a violin but there something about here that beats out in a primal way." He spoke about his guitar as if it were alive. Or at the very least an extension of himself. "I'm not forcing you, but think about it." He smiled.
⊱xxxx Chiaki shook her head lightly, her white hair shaking lightly and falling down from her shoulders as she did. "No, not particuarly. Only in the name and materials it is made of. I have tried the Human variety and it's playing is almost identical really..." Chiaki explained, still searching for the shop as she went. When James referred to a monster, she looked at him curiously before realizing he was speaking about his guitar. "I'm afraid I would be horrible at it... Although, sometime, I may take you up on that offer... It wouldn't hurt, I suppose..." She said with a light smile towards him. Chiaki noticed a bit of comotion off to the side and began to walk a tad slower. "What do you think is going on over there?" She asked. There were flashes and people seemed to be looking at something or someone who had just arrived. xxxx⊰

"Its not made of that thin, glass stuff, is it? You know its a clear blue and makes that awful warble." He had once been introduced to an Escalan bagpipe while playing a small variety show on some moon, deep in the void of space. It had sounded like audible torture and cause eighty per cent of the audience to pass out, if his voice was a potential weapon then the bagpipe was a doomsday device. "Anytime, but you'll have to ask her first to check if she wants to be played. She refuses to play properly if you don't treat her right." He let out a dry laugh, it defiantly sounded like the guitar was a extension of himself more than anything. Not that that was a bad thing, she mush have know what she was getting in to by this point and to assume just because he wasn't kicking dogs and screaming at shoppers that he was in some way balanced. "I don't know, lets get a closer look." He forced his way through the crowd, there was two reasons for this in his head; he wanted to get to where he was going without being distracted and he wanted to make sure Chiaki could follow him without getting manhandled by the other crazies. He stopped short of the limo, there was a big bodyguard in his way and he wasn't able to get any closer without going wild. He took one look at the man that had been singled out, shrugged as if he had seen better and cleared a way to a less populated spot, where he could wait for her to catch up.

“I guess we’ll need some formal clothes first. I’ve got college interviews, and whatever formal occasions you’ve got planned, so I guess we should check out Calypso, or however these chicks pronounce it.” According to the directory of the Emporium, it was apparently "the home of the sophisticated lady’s fashions”. It sounded like a snobby joint for empowered female figures, so it must’ve been the right place. Back in Stratos, the only thing she needed to impress with was her inventions, but if she wanted to get into a good academy, she wanted to leave a good impression, knowing that her intelligence alone wouldn’t be enough. What else did they need? Obviously they needed some comfort clothes, just whatever felt nice.
Instinctively, she’d need help, since this was definitely not her style, and her sister could likely tell by now she was trying not to cringe as soon as she saw the type of ladies in there. It was filled with pampered princesses, and she felt out of place. “Umm, excuse me, but I think I’ll need some recommendations on what to wear..."
As soon as the employee turned around, the lady cocked her head back, and astonishment at Gwen’s bold fashion sense was obvious. “Yeah, let’s do that now. Come with me,” said the employee, taking her hand and dragging her deeper into the store. It would’ve been nice to know an allowance, too. Her dad wasn’t exactly peasant poor, but even he had financial limits, and she had enough courtesy to consider them. All she needed to know was how much was allowed to her and her sister at a given time, and she’d manage. After all, she wasn’t a child; she’d taken care of her sister for this long, she could still do it now. Besides, it was less for him to worry about, knowing they could handle that kind of independence, but were around when it counted.
"Talia go with your sister, I have a little business to take care of and then I will be right in there with you." Adam said in the most kind voice he could pretend to have before stepping away from the store that Gwen had basically run into. Money wasn't a big concern for Adam. Whatever damage the children did he could repair through his work by simply expending a little more energy in smuggling. That should compensate and cover any money he spent here. At the moment that wasn't Adam's concern, he had different gears turning in his head. The senator pulled his phone from his pocket, it resembled just a thin piece of circular glass and he went to turn it on when the flash from someone's camera reminded him that he was being watched. The senator gave a false smile to the man behind the camera and then moved into the building his girls had gone shopping in before making the call. As he waited for it to connect Adam moved across the store to the relatively empty backroom.
When the call finally connected Adam wasted little time. "We have a problem. A human raised escala named Cormac. Not exactly. The interrogation was going perfectly, that's how I got the name. Probably a one person job. Yes, were sending two. I like to watch the conflict. Which two? Send Deadlock, he's good with weapons, and... Lockdown. That one likes to get in close. Make sure that you get it on camera, I could use a little entertainment later. Alright. Make the calls. " With that the line went dead and Adam slid his phone back into his pocket. He took a deep breath and stepped back out into the store to see what progress his daughters had made.
She followed her sister, mainly out of the fact that this was a strange place and so she could not just simply wander off on her own like she could back home. Home...will I ever think of this place as home? It was a sad thought for the teenager, and just from looking around, she did not fit in. She looked down at her all black wardrobe. She'd never really been into wearing colors, but maybe their father would like it if she wore something other then black? She looked around the store, as she followed her sister and the store woman. She passed by various brightly color outfits. Should she at least try something on? She nervously played with the idea in her mind as they were led around. There was a ton of stuff here, so a lot better selection then back home, but still. Of course, although she did not know of the political motivation for the reunion, technically it would be better for the overall image if she didn't constantly look like she was going to a funeral. Yep, the small coincidences.
I'm so tired of being here Suppressed by all my childish fears Why did you have to leave I wish that you would just leave Your presence still lingers here and it wont leave me alone These wounds wont seem to heal This pain is just to real Theres too much that time cannot erase.
