Otto nodded, feeling a little uneasy. "I promise.." Everything would work itself out. Maybe even without as much disaster as he'd imagined. Maybe everything would be okay, after all.

Zac made a heavy, tired sound, phlegmy and a little breathless. Maybe it was supposed to be words.
His eyes were closed now though and his mouth just slightly open to try and make it easier to breathe.
For just a moment he opened his eyes long enough to add to otto.
“…Glad I met you… regardless.” He huffed again and sighed.
“Go on mate… don’t pick up the dumb mantel.”
And then he closed his eyes again and sighed, trying to even out his breathing, trying to stop the world from sliding and spinning.

Zac didn't promise him anything, and he was left to simply accept that the man was an idiot. "I'll try not to catch the dumb." If he hadn't already from lugging the bleeding man away from the Haunted House.
Otto turned, walking away from his bed with a little more ease about the whole situation.
