"Well, you spooked me to begin with." He'd certainly not liked the idea of getting close to family. Nowadays, it wasn't as taboo as he'd let it on to be. "But I'm sittin' here ain't I?"

He took a drink as well. "Maybe loosen up a lil' bit. I feel like we're walkin' on egg shells."

Peyton cracked a grin the showed over the rim of her can. "Only because I bribed you with home cooking," she teased, though it was all in fun. No bite or hurt to it, just a joke with a root in truth.

A beat, as she considered, then the grin widened as she let her gaze dip. "Maybe you could show me how to skate board some time."

"I can't deny that." Food was usually a good way to woo Otto to a trap. Unless he was in a mood.

He smirked and gave a nod. "Sure. But it won't be pretty." He'd taught a couple people on the island. There were usually a lot of scabbed knees and road rash.

Peyton gave an amused huff at the admission, but she was smiling. "I'll just have to keep making good food."

She did perk up a bit when he agreed to teach her how to skateboard, sitting up and leaning forward. "I don't care, it looks like fun." Even if a lot of falls and scraped knees were in order before getting the hang of it, Peyton was prepared for that.
