((Cesc & Vivi --> Lounge area, still with Duncan and Aina))
If Vivi had been charmed by Aina before, the whispered words the child-Raevan spoke left her absolutely dazzled. The Frenchwoman seemed to generate her own light, so bright was her smile, and she leaned down in a chorus of soft, sewed-coin peals. "Mon Dieu, you precious thing, mon cœur en sucre! How sweet you are!" She put her hands on her own cheeks, enchanted.
Cesc, meanwhile, laughed a pleased and surprised laugh, shaking his head. "You mistake our Vivi, I think, and you sell yourself short, Aina! I've already told Vivi about your wonderful floating talents."
"Oh, yes, it is that I have heard of this! So you are the one who made the coins dance, is that so?" Vivi prompted. She looked up at Duncan, her smile an unspoken compliment.

(( Yves --> lounge --> Callus & Ian ))
And he'd spilled his drink. Perfect! Upon taking notice of the spill, he instinctively drew back, not wishing for anything to stain his costume. Never mind whether or not that was what he should have been truly concerned about, that outfit was expensive, and...
Awkwardly, Yves smoothed the front of his jacket out and down with his palms, offering a broad - and somewhat forced - smile to the two of them. "My apologies, again, ah..."
The taller, far more intimidating of the two didn't seem at all fussed about the accident. Yves raised his brows from one to the other, beginning to feel less embarrassed the more he noticed that he wasn't the only nervous one. His smile become more relaxed, expression softening.
Dipping a bit at the waist, he offered a hand to the man in the chair, who reminded him already of himself, in this large crowd. "Pleased to meet you, despite the circumstances. My name is Yves. Yves Lecuyer."
He then straightened and turned to the taller man, who was now standing and ready to grab another drink. Pondering it for a few beats, Yves slowly nodded. "Yes, I would like that. Just something, um... sweet, s'il vous plaît. If it won't be any trouble."
Concern briefly knit his brow, and he couldn't help but ask, "Do you need help?" Because you walk with a cane, he thought, but smartly kept it to himself. Simply asking the question was already insinuating enough, and he felt a bit embarrassed, but to carry three drinks with a cane seemed a bit much.
"But I am also sorry for intruding on the two of you." He held up his hands again, pose and expression unassuming. "If you would like me to leave you alone, just say the word! I don't wish to be a bother. I just... don't know anyone here, so..." He trailed off, feeling awkward once again.

(( Henry and Eth -> Potluck Table ))
Henry had decided on a group theme for their first Halloween together. Ethiriel wasn't sure on the concept, but her guardian pleaded with her and finally, she caved in.
Dressed in a leafy getup, Henry had put the Frei in a Poison Ivy costume of his own design. It was a mix of all the costumes; long sleeves with sheer mesh covering her shoulders with a beautifully tailored top. Her hair had been mussed, though none had tangled in her silver branches. Henry had also put her in makeup with Candice's help, but Ethiriel wasn't a fan.
Henry, on the other hand, was both fitting and strange in one go. Dressed as The Joker, the nurse donned his fully and freshly dyed green mop, combed back and away from his face (which was fully painted, as well). His muscular frame made the entire getup look silly as the character was normally lanky or scrawny, but he was excited to wear it either way.
The nurse had noticed a few of the guests, some familiar and others new, as they entered the function. Ethiriel was in tow, connected to the man’s arm as he led her away from the table. He had dropped off some lasagna as well as some tuna casserole while keeping his Frei’s silver nestled carefully in his own bag – there was no need to put her own special meal on the table rather than keeping it on him. With her appetite lately, he hoped she would at least snack.
”I see Cesc and Aina, Ethiriel. Anita said they’d already be here so I’m sure Cruz is around here somewhere,” Henry said, his smile large.
Able to smell the particular Raevens’ scents, though weakened by distance, Ethiriel offered a small nod. ”I will have to offer my greetings,” she said, the grip on Henry’s arm loosening just the slightest.
Henry, once Ethiriel was to meet with her friends, was eager to meet some of these new people. He just wanted to make sure his companion was situated. Cesc was busy with Aina and Duncan along with the stag’s guardian, someone the nurse was definitely willing to talk to, and he had yet to see Anita or Cruz, but hopefully soon.

((Oliver -> Arriving; Potluck Table))
There was something slightly awkward about the costume Oliver was wearing, with it's heeled boots and tight fitting pants, but two of his students had been beyond enthusiastic about it, so it had to mean he was doing something right. He sighed and extended his foot, once again, to adjust the way the pants were fitting, and brought a smile to his face. This would be the second event by the Lab he would be attending, if the last party really counted, that is. He hadn't really gotten acquainted with anyone then, which was a shame, and he hoped that this party would be different. All he had to do was smile and pray that his cape didn't get caught in anything along the way.
"Wow, everything looks fantastic!" He exclaimed, beaming at all of the decorations. It must've taken them hours to set it all up! He would have to make a note to compliment whoever did the decorating later! He skirted his way through the area and headed towards the Potluck Table where he set down the chocolate bunt cake he had made the morning prior. Hopefully there would be enough of it for everyone to have at least a little slice.
(( Isobel & Axel -> Lounge. (Yves, Ian, Callus) ))
Perhaps allowing Isobel to choose her own costume hadn’t been the best idea on her part, put as she watched Isobel paint on the last of her gold scales Axel couldn’t help but smile. Since they’d received the invitation the frei had been looking for a costume where she’d be able to try out some face painting. Jokingly her twin had mentioned a dinosaur and the frei had run with it. Isobel had tied her hair back and there was now the upper half of a dinosaur head atop her own with teeth and all. Its bottom jaw was under her own and it covered and hide away all of her hair. She had elbow length gloves with tiny fingered claws and they’d even attached a tail at the back of her top. Axle thought she look ridiculous, but the scales Isobel had added on her forehead, around her eyes and on her cheeks really brought the whole thing together.
“Ready to go?” The frei briefly gave Axel a glance before nodding and applying one more scales. “All done I think. How do I look?” Isobel floated away from the mirror and gave her guardian a cheeky smile. “You look good.” She admitted reluctantly, Isobel floated closer and Axel tucked a stray strand of her hair back into her dinosaur hat. “Did you rub your face? Your make up came off, hold on let me fix it.” Isobel floated back to her dresser and grabbed a new brush and some white makeup. “If you keep this up we really will be late you know.” Isobel shrugged and floated closer to fix the ghostly face she’d given Axel. She was going as a dead bride ironically given to her by one of her clients that was still breathing. The pair had ripped it up and added some blood to it, Isobel had done her make up by making Axel as pale as she could and giving her a neck wound.
“There, now we can go.” The pair left the apartment and got into the elevator. An elderly pair with two children complimented them on their costumes before they all left, Isobel waving the children goodbye. “We haven’t been to the lab since the last party. I wonder who we will see and if there will be any new Raevans born.” The Frei settled herself and her new tail into the car and waited for Axel to start the car and drive. “I’m not sure, I’d like to speak to Anita if I can and you should meet Cruz too.” She hadn’t been able to speak with her last time even though she’d been in great company anyway. “I wonder if Fathle will be there.” Axel shrugged; it would be nice to see everyone anyways. The drive was long but When Isobel got out of the car she beamed at the place. “Looks amazing!”
“Come on, you can look at things after. We need to drop off these first.” Isobel grabbed the container that had all the candy apples they’d made the previous day. They were all orange covered in black bat candies she’d picked out from the store; Axel had had to tell her not to eat all the little candies before they were done with the candy apples. Axel grabbed the container with their eyeball cake balls. Red velvet covered in white chocolate and Isobel had painted on all the eyeballs herself. It had been quite the fun after noon for them especially since wedding season was just settling down and Axel would be able to be home more often. “I’m going to go put these away, you can uh.., mingle. I’ll be right back.” Axel went to drop of their foods for the potluck while Isobel floated over to the lounge.
The frei glanced around and saw no one she knew yet, but she did spot someone with tattoos. She’d seen them before on other people, never up close of course. She floated over to the trio of men offering them all a smile. “Hello sorry to disturb, I like your tattoos.” She motioned to the man’s arm. Axel caught up to her frei and glanced at the group wondering if Isobel knew any of them. “Axel look, do you think I’d be able to get a tattoo too?” Axel gave everyone a little wave. “Hi!” She looked at the person with the tattoos. “Ah, no those are permanent Iso.” The chameleon had been about to argue but she was with other people and it would be rude to argue with her guardian in front of them. “I’m Isobel and this is my guardian Axel.” There, highly more polite than an argument.

(( LuLu -> Lounge//Josh -> Potluck ))
Josh and Lu were both fashionably late as usual. Though neither of them would admit it was due to part of the sigel's costume getting stuck in the door jam on their way out and a good fifteen minutes spent struggling to get it out unharmed.
Fortunately, they had succeeded and not a feather was out of place on LuLu's ensemble. She was donned head to ribbon in golden accessories and flashy fabrics in her best interpretation of an Aztec princess. As she floated along, her feathers swayed with her movements like an extension of herself. She could not help but give her head a snap to either direction to take advantage of the way the colors fanned out and glided in slow motion around her.
While by no means an ugly duckling, Josh could not help but feel under dressed as he followed behind her grand display. Nevertheless, he was doing his best to do the character of Indiana Jones some justice. He might not have been able to grow scruff but he hoped his eye for details could get a few awes.
Her guardian shuffled a few bags around in his arms, bouncing them from one hip to the other. They rustled noisily against the fake whip on his side. "You go ahead and mingle. I need to put our snacks away." The boy nodded with his head towards the refreshment tables and took off in that direction. He busied himself with laying out their offerings. Chips, dip, and some brownies with bat sprinkles dusted on top. The standard Halloween necessities if Josh had any say in it.
Meanwhile, LuLu made her way over to the epicenter of the party. The lounge area was beginning to buzz with activity.

(( Duncan and Aina -> Lounge, Cesc and Vivi ))
Vivi was speaking French, Aina knew, and her curiosity fueled her enough to look back toward the woman, though she was still quite red and felt very sheepish. She glanced up at Cesc let go of Duncan's hand to wrap both of her arms around the teddy bear a little tighter. She was so certain she was not meant for Vivi's company, but she trusted Cesc very much. He was, after all, a savior of the museum.
She lowered the teddy bear away from her face with Cesc's encouragement. Aina looked up at Vivi again, and a small giggle escaped her-- she nodded, though cautiously. "You make coins dance, too," Aina noted, as Vivi's costume caught her eye, "Did Mr. Cesc make 'em really shiny and pretty?"
Duncan chuckled when Vivi glanced up at him, then nodded in agreement. He smiled. "That was quite the display, but we've learned not to keep our lunchboxes in faraway rooms now."
Since they arrived, Cruz had constantly filled with his costume's eye holes. Anita would occasionally have to help him adjust when the thing got too turned around and he felt lost in the sheet. It wasn't his first choice of costume but they were a bit low on funds and creativity this year, leading to the Bishop pair attending the Samhain Soiree as one spooky sheet ghost and a hooded skeleton. A frei dressed as a ghost was ideal, Anita said, because he was already floating -- optimum spook factor. It certainly tickled Cruz to see some folks staring when they loaded into Anita's car before leaving. The ends of the sheet hung past his ribbon and, so long as he kept around his usual five foot height, he appeared to be quite genuine.
Anita stepped out of the face paint booth with a soft sigh and thanked the artist. She didn't have the practice with make up, nor the supplies, to produce the effect herself but what she got here was quite nice. Cruz watched his guardian wave her hands lightly at her face to try and speed up the drying process and he smiled through the triangle shaped mouth hole.
"Looks good, 'Nita," he rumbled, raising his sheet covered hands in praise.
She laughed. "Thanks. Looks like there's a lot of neat costumes turning up, huh?"
The croc nodded emphatically, then glanced around the way. All of the decorations really brought the place together. He couldn't recognize it at all from the previous garden party until he first laid eyes on the hedge maze. Even dressed up, there was no forgetting that.
"Let's go find your friends." Cruz turned back to smile at Anita before hovering gently ahead, towards the lounge where most people seemed to be congregating.

Ian watched in silent anxiety as Callus tossed his cup over his shoulder, but quickly closed his mouth. Nagging at him about littering probably wasn't a good way to make friends, after all. Perhaps if he could move away discreetly at some point to pick it up...
When he realized that the newcomer was offering a handshake, Ian lunged forward and accepted it as if he'd been shocked. He smiled at Yves almost apologetically, before glancing up at Callus again. "Oh, uh, no thanks. I'm good for now," he mumbled, holding up his mostly-full mug of cider for proof. He smiled, still sort of slumping in the chair he'd found, feeling rather secure in its structured embrace. It was nice, and he'd managed to find an angle that allowed him to look around the majority of the venue without much head movement. There were so many people!
Yves was apologizing again, which prompted a bit of sympathy in Ian. He felt a sort of kinship with the shy man, and offered what he hoped was a warm smile. "It's alright. Meeting new people is a good thing, right?" He pushed a hand through his hair, then immediately panicked and made sure it was still styled correctly in Horatio's classic swoop. I, ah, I like your costume. Especially the face paint. It really...completes it."
Suddenly a bright figure joined their small, awkward group: a Raevan! She was beautiful, even with the somewhat comical dinosaur getup she was wearing. Ian could tell that she was colorful by default, and found himself staring before he could correct himself. When her guardian joined them as well, Ian pushed himself out of the chair and cleared his throat. "It's nice to meet you. I'm Ian, Ian Flynn." He managed a smile but it still looked slightly anxious, twitching at the uneven corners just a tiny bit.
Out of the corner of his eye, Ian caught sight of a familiar pair of long braids peeking out from a dark hoodie: Anita. He'd have to say hello later, as it would be rude to just slip away from the people he was currently talking with.

((Anya and Zeke -- Arriving; near the Lounge))
They would have been here earlier, had there not been a fender bender on the highway to cause a delay. Traffic had been slowed to a crawl for a few miles before squeezing through the blockade the police had set up, after which things had been relatively smooth sailing.
The pair who now neared the party after the short trek from the car were dressed as differently from each other as could be. Anya, who unlike in previous years didn't have to be coaxed and persuaded to leave her domicile to attend, was well dressed. Clad in white lace and matching soft but warm fabrics, she had taken on the visage of a specter called a White Lady, albeit loosely. Her hair was still its lavender hue and there was no changing her make up or the shiny blackness of her crown and wings, but she did not mind the look and that was all that mattered. Zeke, on the other hand, was a shock of color. Forgoing his much loved Halloween costume of a well dressed "normal" version of himself, the vet had been bitten by the superhero bug hard this summer and had dressed accordingly - but with his own ideas in mind. To match his hair the vet had gone with shockingly blue spandex, over which he had bought the pinkest pair of jockeys he could find. He had put on white calf-high men's socks over the spandex on his legs and donned bright red high tops. On his chest was a red star in a target of pink and blue and a cape streamed from his shoulders. To top everything off he had thrown on a strip of red cloth with eyeholes cut out on it too.
"Aren't you cold?" Anastacia couldn't help but eye her Guardian, her gaze going from his spandex-covered arms to the cape fluttering out behind him. Blessedly it did not snag on any branches sticking out from the otherwise well kept topiary.
"Lil bit, but I'll warm up."
Zeke beamed, but Anya frowned just a touch. Beneath her layers she had made sure to tuck a few of the hand warmer packets Zeke had bought for her. She wasn't feeling the effects of the fall night thanks to them and they were keeping her well fed too. Her Guardian had no such space for those things, not even a utility belt around his undie-clad hips to store one or two. He'd probably freeze long before she did.
Suddenly the vet gave a low whistle and Anya's eyes went to the scene that stretched out before them. The party was in full swing, and it was decorated beautifully for the season. Despite only having been to one Halloween party before this, the Black Widow immediately felt that this was the best looking one she had ever seen. Zeke seemed to share her thoughts.
"Whoever they hired to decorate, they need to keep them on permanently!"

((LuLu - > Lounge ))
The sigel spotted a frei who seemed to share her love of golden accessories. The bands wrapped around the other girl's head caught the candle light in a dazzling way which made them glitter among her blue tresses. It seemed rude not to give her efforts the compliment they were deserving of. With a sway of her hips, LuLu glided over to the Hamsa. She offered Tati a smile. "Good evening. Your outfit is very pretty." The rabbit then gave a small curtsy to both the raevan and her human company.
Tatiana's eyes grew no less than seven sizes as Lulu caught her attention. She gasped, hands clasping to her cheeks as she took in the exquisite get up- the feathers, the jewelry. The rabbit born soul was absolutely drenched head to hips in envy inducing get up. And it looked like so much. fun.
"Woah!" she breathed, hands covering both mouth and nose as she placed the familiar yet- augmented with a bit more glam- face back to the automotive shop- or autobody store. "Lulu?!'
The hamsa's voice was an octave higher than she anticipated, smile threatening to split her face in two. Her own feathers pricked on end, fluffing her appearance and trying to emulate those tossed on the Sigel, her voice creaked again in what Harrison would call pitchy but Cam mentioned it was flattering. She touched a plastic snake in her hair and her own jewelry as she was complimented.
"Ah! I mean G'evening to you as well and-- Thank you so much but in comparison to yours-You look amazing! I love it- I love everything about this!" She gestured her hands all over the sigel, reaching back and flapping her hand on Cam's shoulder inviting him into the conversation.
"Uncle Cam! This is Lulu- I met her at a car place forever ago with poppa."
Cam raised chin and brow taking the Aztec princess get up in and smiling brightly, "Enchanté, way to repurpose feathery boa collections!"
--
"He's barely 48 days old. Even if we tried to condition him to a schedule, he wouldn't follow it," Harrison started, smiling with a nose scrunch as he situated said tiny baron in his chest sling. Facing the world like a good pilot should, despite him needing to support his tiny, floppy, pink rubber eraser baby self. The smiling thing was the cutest cacophony of gums and tiny dinosaur noises.
"Right keegs? You just don't care," the Pilot waved one of Keeg's tiny hands, adjusting his own scarf in their pilot-copilot costume. "Have you seen Tatiana and Cam around?"
The aviator scouted the area, seeing a few familiar faces amongst clusters of new ones. He spied Zeke and Anya, jerking his jaw towards the raver and arachnid queen.
"Ren, spidey queen at six o'clock. Let's go over and say hi to Zeke and -- was it Anya?" He'd never formally met the purple haired Frei, just passing glances and the two tended to gravitate during these lab events. Zeke however was a familiar face and he had to check in and catalogue what outrageous outfit the vet had

((LuLu - > Lounge ))
LuLu tipped her head to Tati at the exclamation. Her eyes squinted with a knowing gleam. She had prepared the outfit with gasps of delight in mind. One did not wear gold from top to bottom to be the wallflower at a party. The sigel hoped this would be the first of many complements during the night.
Aha! The rabbit knew she could place this girl's face somewhere. The car dealership did seem like a distant memory now. Josh's new minivan hardly seemed new anymore. Her guardian had practically worn a divot into the driver's seat. It was no wonder it had taken her a moment to recall a name to match the frei's features. "It is nice to see you again."
"No. Do not compare. We are both beautiful." The rabbit suddenly got an idea. She plucked one of the shorter feathers from the belt hugging low on her hips and offered it to Tati. "If this will help? I have plenty."
Though Tati was an acquaintance this Cam person was new. LuLu's wings flapped against her back. The movement rustled a few of the feathers streaming down her spine."I tried my best. Thank you." Another fan to the smoldering pride within her. LuLu felt warm with a faint flush to her cheeks.

((Cesc & Vivi --> Lounge))
Cesc smiled at Duncan as he spoke. His heart still tended to quicken at the thought of the day at the museum; the sheer confusion at seeing the antiquities float remained one of the more bizarre experiences of his life. He was only glad it ended in meeting Aina -- the best possible conclusion by any standards.
His eyes lifted and he caught sight of a few friends entering the building. He lifted his silver-capped cane -- the only way he could think to wave at Ethiriel -- and offered a quick smile to Anya and Zeke as they entered. Then he returned his attention to those at hand.
"I'm glad to hear it," he told Duncan. "If there's anything I've learned from working at a bakery for years, it's that available food makes everything better. Easiest cure-all."
"No, no, he did not make these coins," said Vivi to Aina, lifting the hem of one of topmost layered skirt. She took the slim fabric in each hand and shimmied it gently. "It is not so special, perhaps, as when he does, but I still think they do nicely! And my coin dancing, I cannot say that it must be as lovely as yours. Perhaps one day you will be so kind as to show me, ah?"
"Only when you want to, of course," added Cesc.
"Oh, of course," said Vivi, both to Duncan and to Aina. "Maybe one day we can have you at our bakery?"

(( Henry and Eth -> Lounge || Anita and Cruz))
Cesc’s small wave hadn’t gone unnoticed, but with all of the scents mixing in the air, not to mention the plethora of food that laid to Ethiriel’s side, it was impossible to pick out his own special aroma; she had no way of knowing it was him. The gesture, however, was obvious for her and she stared for just a moment before Henry tugged her along.
”Anita, Cruz!” Henry called, his smile exaggerated by the painted lines on his cheeks. He was quick to make it to them – he knew Ethiriel would want her friends over the nurse’s company. ”Great costumes!” he exclaimed, brimming with excitement. Even if they were simple, they were effective; especially Cruz’s.
Ethiriel was none the wiser.
”A pleasure to see you both again. I have missed your presence,” Ethiriel offered, partially and silently wishing she could have viewed their costumes with as much admiration as her guardian. Unfortunately, she could only take anyone’s word for it.
Grinning from ear to ear, Henry offered the tea Frei over to Anita, seeing as Cruz’s arms were somewhat missing. If he wished to take her, she was open for either.
