Somewhere deep down, West had known what she was going to do. He would have done the same if he'd had a long, bouncy tail instead of wide, feathery wings that were bound to get caught on the rocks and send them both flopping back into the water. Stupid wings.

No. Awesome wings, just not in this very specific, wing-hindering situation. Yeah.

Despite the pinch of jealousy he felt, it was still a shock and a thrill to be launched from a lazy crouch to the lip of the gorge in a matter of seconds, and he allowed himself a low laugh all the way up, one that was drowned out by Levi's cackle. When they reached the top, he went slack at the peak of their ascent, only tensing again when he felt her feet press against his chest. She was going to... no... she wouldn—

The remaining breath was pushed from his lungs as Levi kicked, and he clawed at the air for a moment, eyes wide, before his wings emerged yet again. No, not stupid at all. West spun awkwardly, righting himself and flapping once or twice before gliding back to earth.

Tel had just gotten settled again when he heard a wave of laughter emanating from deep within the ravine. He faced it just in time to see a lumpy comet made of kids with a trailing tail of fluff as it crested over the rocks, and he stood and took a step back as West changed his trajectory so he wouldn't fall again. The ghoul didn't follow, but he figured she knew what she was doing.

"Havoc wreaked?" Tel gestured toward the luggage with a teasing smirk. "Should I leave you alone to get dressed or do you want to take another jump?" Something thoughtful passed across his face almost too quickly to see and the older demon retreated another couple of feet. West might not have wanted to go diving again, but that didn't mean he wouldn't get it into his head to play a game of Dunk the Uncle. It would've been a good prank. He was not about to fall for it.

When Levi appeared once more, Tel chuckled and turned away for the time being. "You're very welcome."

West slowly dropped into a floaty three-point landing, pride finally pushing a grin to his lips. He even held it as he pulled the FEAR forming his wings back to him, the fact that he was crouching in his boxers nearly forgotten. Nearly. When he rose to his feet again, West cleared his throat, tucking his smile away too.

"Havoc wreaked. Y'don't have t'leave, jus'..." He pointed at the ground and twirled his finger in a circle. "Turn 'round."

Once Tel complied, West reached for his clothing and started pulling it on, looking to Levi to do the same. He didn't notice the smoke right away, but once he was clothed and scrubbing his fingers through his hair, he finally caught sight of it. Squinting through a break in the trees, he said, "Looks like humans. Wanna go?"

West was getting dressed up again and Levi took the note to follow suit after smiling at Uncle Tel’s turned back. The chivalrous nature to West clearly did come from somewhere. Oh, right. Levi tried to hurriedly become decent again so he could turn back around. The one downside she could think of about her tatzelwurm appendage: wet fur. The ghoul did her best to avoid soaking her clothes in attempting to secure her shorts back on, bringing her tail forward and wringing it through both her hands. Walking over to her sac, the ghoul pulled out what appeared to be a dish towel from one of the smaller pockets and proceeded to tussle her ears and hair dry with it.

Tugging the towel securely around the back of her neck once her hair was manageable, she looked from one demon to the other, realizing West was focused on something off the cliffside. The ghoul took on a crouch and began sneaking towards the edge. Her brain replayed previous encounters with various humans and so her voice took on a lower and quieted pitch. Yeeeah. Her tail and ears pointed upward, indicating she was both game and trying to gain more information. It was clean smoke; the type that came from burning things that were newly grown or moist. Only the faintest of gurgled rhythmic beating could be heard below, exceedingly difficult to grasp among the bird, wind and waterfall sounds competing against her eardrums if not for its harmonious quality.

Reckon we’re good fer takin’ a peak at tha’least? Levi’s eyes gleamed over, turning her head to Tel as if to ask permission. He had the right to dictate what they did while on this trip after all. Should the older demon deem it inappropriate at the moment to scare, she’d wait. Insinuating that they investigate would at least open the door to them possibly scaring here. His “no” to this would be a no to the scaring. The white tail of the ghoul wavered in the air while she grinned and turned to West. The boil would know she was ready to do some trickery. I’m thinkin’ trees. Git right close ‘nuff just ta’see what we’re dealin’ with, eh? Ya good fer some tree hoppin’, boil, or? Are you going flying again? She paused before including an addition option. Part of the ghoul wondered what two wrath demons looked like when prowling together. Inside, she was cackling but played it cool on the outside. Did wraths even pack hunt? She knew about deals and hand shaking type things when it came to his kin, but this was more- like a Levi and Demi kin thing. Critters that had fluffy sorts of features. Wraths and demons, well, they used their words typically, right? No. West did not use his words, so that logic was definitely out the window.

Overall, Levi was eager to see what the two would do. Thus, she included her additional proposal:
…If ya’want~ I could go down n’ scout ‘em out first b’fore yew fellas. Ya’know. Ta’make sure it’s extra safe.

Send the ghoul out first? HMMM?

She’d do it- unless they said otherwise.

It was definitely what they were here for—spying on humans and puzzling out the best ways to scare them—but Telefsen couldn't help hearing his sister's pleasantly threatening voice in this moment, even though he hadn't discussed this trip with her at all.

If my son comes home with a scratch on him, I'll...

Like she hadn't encouraged him to fight since he was a scareling. Like she hadn't sent him to a school where his whole life had been put in danger on the regular. Not that she knew that. Tel wasn't even sure of the specifics, but... well... he knew enough. A few bright-eyed, fleshy campers were not likely to cause Amityville kids a problem.

"You have my enthusiastic permission to scare those humans." He smirked. There would be plenty of time to push Levi toward having a little more disrespect for her elders, but for now he would play the responsible adult. "They're blocking our way to the hotel. I'll stay here again. Make sure the bags don't go anywhere." He could have left their luggage without supervision and joined in, but why chance it? While he didn't share much of his nephew's sense of style, they both possessed a desire to start the day presentable. If some human world skunk ran off with his things, he might have to start a forest fire.

West didn't look to his uncle at all, he just kept his eyes on the smoke as Levi and Tel exchanged words. If this was to be more than a slow paced sneaking mission, he wasn't quite sure how he was going to get over there without drawing too much attention or coming across as too strange to be scary. Normally, he would have strolled the whole way, but if she was hopping through the trees, he should probably be flying.

"I think if I try bouncin' they'll be laughin' more than quakin'. I wouldn't mind y'goin' on ahead, but I'll come in right behind ya. Maybe." Once they got a visual on what the humans were up to, surely they could come up with a better plan than him just walking up in the wake of an actual monster. He paused, the gears almost visibly turning in his head.

"On second thought, how's 'bout y'scout like you said, but meet me nearby when yer done 'nstead'a comin' all th'way back here. Jus' bounce up above the trees once, an' I'll meetcha."

Opening her mouth for a conjecture to his bouncing comment, Levi decided West would be West. Silly boil, you’d be bouncing with me, not on your tail.-alright. Ya’might have’a point thar but maybe? He wanted to get there on his own which, of course, couldn’t mean bouncing; flight it was. To say he might follow her gave the ghoul reason to raise a brow curiously though. Really? He had to be calling her bluff here. Er- sure. Behind me then. He wasn’t going to stroll over there, threaten their lives with his fists and invoke words his mother would flush over regarding their mothers and what actions could be performed by them? Well, she sure as sugar wasn’t going to argue with going out first. The other brow finally lifted to join its companion, genuine esteem settling in. West’s tactics really were changing for the better these days and she’d grown to hearing him out more and more. Nodding as she listened intently to a strategical Westus with a tail curling and uncurling whimsically, she smiled at the end with approval. Ya sure are smarter than ya’look, West. There was a reoccurring compliment in there, sidestepping the fact that her new Uncle Tel didn’t look all that different from the boil- dangit. Levi’s eyes darted quickly from one demon to the other in surprise at her own indecent omission before she rose, poising herself for another bounce.

Yeeeeep! M’goin’ then! Keep ’n eye out! Escaping a potentially awkward explanation and possible apology for just disrespecting her elder via a bounce over the trees? Yes she was. Maybe Uncle Tel wouldn’t notice it. Yeah. Yeah. Levi imagined Gran back home just cackling at her. She’d never intentionally say something like that! Oh boil…

This was a good time to focus on the feeling of the wind against her, cooling down, and where she’d land offside of the smoke pillar. Now was a time for sneaking and scaring, two things in which the ghoul wanted to show she had an overwhelming aptitude for. Holding her towel on either end to keep it from flying off, the ghoul began her descent tail-first into the brush of foliage below. What she thought was a few yards away turned out to be much closer than she’d anticipated. The music grew on her her way over, but the pounding of the bass now seemed to be at a level that rattled her sternum like a tremor in the soil itself. On the plus side, it probably quieted her landing should any of the branches shook when her tail and feet impacted them. Scanning for damages, the ghoul saw none and thusly crouched to begin her recon mission.

Humans spotted

~

It looked like they’d just awoken; a group of five. The humans seemed to be around the same age as previous ones the wrath demon and tatzel had seen in the human maul and festival. Not unlike what they themselves looked like minus the ears, horns and tails. Students of some kind? They didn’t look to be studying anything at the moment. Two of the groggy bunch were having a small argument about the smoke. Apparently, it was a poor choice to use water to squelch their breakfast fire that way. Something about critters and how they’d be attracted by the visual queue. Or did they mean other humans? The fifth was holding some sort of electronic device, wiggling knobs and looking up to the sky with a squint, then back at the floor to another contraption of metal and tiny windmill blades that began rotating. The tatzelwurm wasn’t savy in technology, but she’d seen what happens when pinwheels rotated- they floated. The ghoul took this as her moment to flag West in. It came to her mind that this could be an issue if this object meant to fly above the treetops and spot their stuff or something. Possibly a wrath demon in flight. Bass still acting as an aid, Levi perched and pounced up through the tree leaves, trying to recall what angle to take to face the two demons again. Aside from these humans and their noisy technology, there didn’t seem to be any danger here. Levi flailed her arms with a big grin before summersaulting back into the green cover, hoping West would make his way over while she kept tabs on what each human was doing. Especially the one with the windmilling doohicky in case it took off and was actually a trapping mechanism. She’d have the wrath’s back from her point position closer to the stout framed, baseball-capped handler.

Levi’s ears positioned themselves straight up and swiveled slightly like mini satellites to pick up more through the bass backdrop. Her branch seemed well and sturdy enough to hold her, so the ghoul lay flat on her front up the length for better camouflage and for more intel, eyes not leaving her marks. A mechanical wagon with a rounded top and nose sported a pale yellow color.

Two of the humans seemed to be picking up containers and placing them in the vehicle: “It’s gonna suck going back to the dorms now, man. s**t, Vera, why can’t you just join me in Munich and leave this backwater place? C’mon. We can share a place and everything.” The shirtless male who carried a clear plastic bin of items near the vehicle seemed distraught with his words but was smiling as he loaded the items. “Are you kidding? Not this again. I’m not stopping my gymnastics training just to go there and pay for classes I don’t even need, Lucas! Why don’t you come back to Bayrischell and go to VHS with me, huh? Stay here, be a fitness instructor and see me all the time.” The bikini-topped female who carried plastic bags in her hands was laughing as she said it; these two were clearly mated. The smooching was a dead giveaway. Humans at the maul also did this with one another, allowing her to deduce this was a common occurrence and not them attempting to eat one another or something. Though she would not rule it out among humans as a whole.

Levi picked up on movement from the two at the firepit: “I should let my mom know I’ll be back tonight. Ugh, bugs and dirt all over my stuff. How did I ever let you talk me into coming out here?” The female leaning on her side in blankets who forked around at a mess of edible(?) material on a paper plate shook her head at the other figure that had doused the flame. “These eggs aren’t even cooked all the way. Can we just go back to the hotel and eat?”
Mein Schatz, you may have whatever you like.” This male wore a black tank top and white swimming trunks, seemingly ready to pack up his camping blankets and halfheartedly skirting around the female to gather everything around her as well. “So tired; barely slept with all the crap out here. Now that those two have it out of their systems, we can get back to civilization. Nature sucks!” Still huffing, the female sat up and simply flung the plate into the pit with a pout.
“C’mon, it wasn’t all bad. We’ve still got time for another dip. Then we’ll go back to the hotel, get massages and be back in Munich so I can look good for your parents. After all, I'm supposed to be tutoring you out here, remember?”
“Teehee, yeah! Okay, let's go for one last swim then!”

Leading with an open hand, the black tanked male assisted in raising the blue tankini-wearing female out of the quilted nylon blankets and facing the way of the still audible rushing water, all the while jiving to the beat. “HEY! Lucas! One more time before we go, alright? We’ll be right back!” Kicking away an empty brown glass bottle with a green label, the male wavered at his companions by the wagon to confirm they were going to temporarily separate.

The singular hatted figure with the device was indeed using the remote to fly the device and it was now at eye level with the figure. “Ben, Mia! Should I come too?” They gestured with the remote.

“Don’t you dare!” Mia pointed and threatened.

“You’re still responsible for cleaning up too when you get back! Re-cy-celn!” Vera butted in, bobbing her head to the music.

Levi breathed lightly, still as she could stay while observing the five. Her perch only vertical yards from below where the two tanked individuals now stood. Lucas and Mia were packing and reluctantly cleaning away while the hatted one continued zooming their device around the space.

~

Shall I?
The ghoul was confident she could take out one if not both of the two below, lowering her tail end with a smirk like she was pointing.

Smarter than he looked? Damn well better be. If West ever came across like some book-sniffing library type, he would—

The demon was pulled from his musings as Levi hopped away, and just in time too. Now was not the moment to worry about whether or not he had ever looked like a nerd. It was time for sneaking and scaring. Had he known how close his train of thought ran to his ghoul's, West would have grinned. With barely any effort, his wings appeared once again, and he took a few quick steps forward before lifting back into the sky.

He didn't go far, especially not after Levi popped above the trees to give him her position and a faint whirring caught his ears. West dropped as quickly as he could manage, and when he found a sturdy perch, he folded his wings against his back rather awkwardly. He rarely had a need to keep them tangible between uses, and the feel of them just sitting there doing nothing was almost completely foreign. There had been that one time... but it wasn't worth his attention. Not now.

West listened, waiting for instinct to tell him when to advance. He was too deep in the canopy to see anything more than flashes of movement, but as soon as the buzzing grew the slightest bit louder, he was off, barely clearing the tallest leaves and landing beside the tatzel with a muffled rustle. Pride swelled in his chest as the humans continued their chatter, and for once, West managed to keep his emotions hidden. He nodded and jabbed his finger toward the kid with the drone, his eyes and brows asking a question he hoped she could interpret.

I'll take that one.

At first Levi gave a shrug; she didn’t know what the flying thing was either. Oh. Oh! Then it clicked in, wide eyes and satellite ears broadcasting her understanding. West had chosen his target and Levi now gave her nod of recognition. In this brief moment, a small problem arose. The mechanical thing, to be exact. Positioning herself on the branch so West could have a better view, a red beacon of light began to flicker visibly through their opening in the leaves.

The human with the hat looked down at the monitor on his control suspiciously; then back up again. “Weird lighting… hey! Do you guys think this is weird? It’s kinda glowing.” The two couples were too far away from the operator to hear their inquiry and so the figure just squinted up into the tree curiously.

Scaring Party of Five

Levi shot a glance at the drone which, with its singular eye, seemed to be pointed in their direction. It’s a camera. Why was the human using a flying camera here? Were they also some sort of human patrol, looking out for Halloweeners? Levi’s hand slid back towards West and patted at his feathers. I think it sees us.

Humans didn’t always see them, though they could see things in their own world that moved because of their tactics. FEAR was a feeling and shouldn’t be seen by most human eyes but- what about mechanical stuff? She was almost certain this machine would be a problem and they needed it gone for compromising their visibility. If stealth was to, as her mentors put it, not be seen, this camera was enemy number one. Gotta take it out, West. They’re tryin’ somethin’ with that. She paused, trying to work her various cogs into devising a plan so they could achieve their scaring goal. If yer sportin’ tha’spirit ta git it outta here one way ‘er another, it’d be better fer us, Uncle Tel n’ everybody. Don’t need no human eyes in tha’skies. Best ta break ‘er down b’fore I git goin’ on these two, eh? As Levi turned her head to look at the wrath demon for confirmation, the device began to rotate on the spot, causing the light to turn blue when it was no longer focused on their tree.

"Wonder if I'll get some ghosts on here."

It continued moving upward towards the canopy and the ghoul huffed in displeasure at their plan becoming more complex. Were they ghost-capturing types?! Don’t let ‘em see ya or I'm takin' it out fer lookin', ya hear? The ghoul smiled briefly in a I've-got-your-back manner, placing a hand under West's chin and running her thumb along his jaw before retracting it. They were scaring as a team now. I’ll be ready fer this when ya’got that- Alright? Ready? Give 'em hell, boil. It was now or never- the thing was on the move and needed to be stopped. West's newfound stealth was about to be put to the test.

West’s Targets: Drone & Operator
Mission: Stop the drone; scare the operator
Levi’s Targets: Ben & Mia
Mission: Scare Ben and Mia

The Catches:
- West should take out the drone first for Levi to sneakily scare without pinging the drone her way via screams.
- West must keep out of the line of sight of the drone or else the humans might capture his FEAR on camera and have his photo
- They cannot risk this drone having their photos! One or both of them must make it dead dead forever dead.

Phase 1: Line of Sight
Try to get close to the target without being noticed
[Roll 7 d6]
If there are more evens, West successfully follows the course of the drone’s flight without being spotted
If there are more odds, West finds himself face-to-lens with the drone. Red light is on!

*This must be done for the good of Halloween kind! If caught, Levi will move to assist West (stop photographing her boilfriend >: [[ ) as well for Phase 1 and to take out the drone in Phase 2 before scaring Ben and Mia; they'll have to improvise!

Phase 2: Delicious Destruction of a Drone
[Roll 1 d20]
1-5: It might've been mistaken for a malfunction, but it's down.
6-9: It lives. Try again! Quick! It's on the move here!
10-11: That thing isn't flying anymore. No light, no pictures. The operator is more sad than scared though :c aww
12-17: It's in pieces! You've got the operator cursing and wallowing in financial horror! Well done!
18-20: BOOM, BABY! Not only did you take out the drone, but you flung it at the operator to scare the boots off of them. How their device came at them without reason will haunt their dreams tonight! Hooray! Somewhere ToT Rage would be proud...

Now that he had a better idea of what it was, the drone seemed... pretty cool, actually. He might have been mentally dissing nerds just a moment ago, but he couldn't deny they sometimes made some interesting s**t. Surely there had to be a use for noisy flying things in the realm of Trick-or-Treating. He'd have to remember to bring it up when they returned home. At the very least, Master could ride around on one.

Levi was right though. This one had to be taken out. It had probably seen too much already, and it would be impossible to avoid if he left it running.

"No one's gonna see anythin'," he whispered, looking from the drone to the ghoul as she touched his face. West didn't hold back his giddy satisfaction this time, grinning broadly as he shot skyward once again. His movements remained silent, his focus trained on the drone as it buzzed closer to a clump of trees. The second it floated beneath the branches...

Dive.

Pluck.

Smash.

Bits of her hair swooshed back and forward in response to West's takeoff, eyes following his trajectory. If he was going to fulfill his part, Levi most certainly had to keep tabs on hers. No way she'd let him do all the scaring here.

Levi would in turn keep tract of the two below, choosing branches that allowed her to better keep the pair within her sights while still managing to see where the wrath demon was. It wasn't a perfect view, but the red light not beaming seemed to be a good enough indicator for if something was amiss, she figured. No such beacon went off. The couple was idling with banter when Levi glanced upward, seeing the boil fly out of sight of the drone as it circled, a smile perking on her face. He was doing it. It was one thing to train and spar with success against her, but it was another to see his efforts come into play in their actual working life. He was using his stealth for scaring purposes; the tatzel felt a twirling in her chest. It came to him with such ease, it was almost like he was doing an evasive dance in midair with the mechanism. Nice work, boil. You best not be slowing down neither, ghoul! Levi believed he'd get that thing down and she needed to be ready herself to stir things up. Her eyes were locked on West almost hypnotically though, eagerly anticipating his inevitable finishing blow. Luckily, her ears would keep her in tune with her targets- somewhat.

As the drone disappeared under the leaves below, West dismissed his wings, dropping into a freefall that became an outright dive as he turned to face the earth. Would this be where he dissipated for good, splatted on the ground in some human world forest?

Hell no.

The demon barely cleared the underside of the lowest branches as his wings supported him once more, letting out a triumphant shout as he did. To the ears of the young man in the hat, it sounded far more intimidating. West grabbed the drone out of the air, ignoring the sting as one of the propellers bit into his hand. He flung the machine into the dirt, smiling as it crashed at the human's feet. West was barely a blur as he sped back into the cover of the trees.

"No!" The operator ran forward, his fear temporarily eclipsed by his heartbreak over the damage these ghosts had done to his wallet. Did the drone warrantee cover supernatural shenanigans? "Ben? Mia?" Were they still within earshot? Also unclear. "Something weird is going on!"
