"Aces in poker are just ones, really," said Arorangi smiling. "But you need them for royal flushes - getting the Jack, Queen, King, and Ace all of the same suit - and they can be handy for other things as well. Don't think too much about it, we're just gonna play for fun, not actual money."
He shuffled the deck and added, "A straight - a run of cards, like, two, three, four, five and six. Or eight, nine, ten, Jack, Queen, is also a straight. Just a line of cards in order."

“Huh…” Zac said contemplatively. “I guess let’s give this a go then, I think I mostly get it, its not –bad, but I’ll probably muck something up.” He gave a sheepish grin and thumbs up.

Oliver counted himself lucky to already know what a suit was, but he was starting to get the feeling it wouldn't even matter if he had a hundred silly questions here. Zac didn't seem as enthusiastic as Arorangi, but Oliver thought something about their attitude was similar. Perhaps their willingness to move forward rather than hesitate, and to move forward in an optimistic way. He nodded, waiting for a sign he was allowed to look at the cards dealt in front of him.

"Well, we are just playing for fun anyway, so feel free to muck up," said Arorangi with a grin at the pair of them. Really, he was just pleased that they were all hanging out together, even if Oliver was still looking somewhat terrified.
He gestured to their cards. "Feel free to look," he said cheerfully, and picked up his own hand.
....which was pretty terrible. Arorangi cleared his throat and laughed, tossing in an M&M into the middle.
"I'll start us off with just one, then."endejester just roll 1d6 and whoever gets the highest number is the winnar! Feel free to make up whatever hand you want (it's just easier ok) 5 card draw rules + poker hands

Oliver nervously peeked at his cards. "Um... do we have to put candy in too? I-I don't have anything on me... I ate what was in my pockets this morning. At breakfast..."

"Put candy in if you think you can win," said Arorangi cheerfully, holding out the bag of M&M's to Oliver. "But alas, mates, I do believe that I am not very good of an example this game, seeing as how my cards are not particularly good at all."
He set them facedown and laughed. "I fold."

" What's a fold?" Oliver asked in a tiny voice. He didn't see any high cards, it mostly looked like some random assortment of nonsense. And what would happen if he put candy in? Truth be told, he would rather put candy in his mouth than in the game.

Arorangi let out a snort of laughter at Zac, shaking his head with amusement.
"A fold is when you determine that you have no good cards, and you put them down so that you are no longer in this round," he told Oliver, with a wide grin. "And apparently all of us are very bad at this whole game, because I have no good cards, and neither does Zac."

"Are we folding?" Oliver asked, glancing at the other two. Apparently the candy and the cards had distracted him from his shyness enough to lift his head and stop staring at the floor. He wanted to see what the others had in their hand, just to see some examples of what was a bad hand.

"Yes, I think this is a very good idea," said Arorangi, now unable to contain his laughter. He spread the cards out in front of him to reveal a two, a three, a seven, a nine, and a Jack, all of which were various suits.
"I think we all might just be terrible at this game."
