Evan didn't do taps, not even under orders. "Oops," he said without inflection as his last strike caused the Horseman to dissipate screaming. He smiled and was suddenly glad he had been assigned to this mission. He would have been happy to spend three days doing nothing but killing monsters.

Under the tension of her chains, America could feel the thing about to give out under Paige's hit. "Yeah, that's great just..." Evan's blade filled her vision and then America was holding a whole lotta nothing. With a huff, America rolled her eyes and then offered him a grin right back, "You owe me a new ******** blender, Mister Oops. A nice one." It would be the Sun to go all overkill, and the nagging that followed held a certain fondness. "I was gonna get such a nice ******** blender with that bonus, something with ninja sword technology n's**t." Raising her voice, America called out, "Good work! We're gonna keep two people here at all ******** times, cause it looks like they know we're in the neighborhood." Picking up her pack and giving Zeke an appreciative nod, the girl continued, "Let's get unpacked and start patrols. Show me what you're taking with before going out, though." Those that did would find themselves fussed at. Water was checked, food bars were checked, phone were checked and each of the others was given additional runes should their battery die. Explanations were given concerning their range: they couldn't contact Deus outside of an unreliable emergency line, but they would have local range, so texting each other updates was both possible and important. She didn't fuss over uniforms or sunscreen, cause those would heal, but she did her best to make sure they'd survive a good while in the desert while waiting for a rescue, if it came to that. she is so bossy enjoy also thanks evan thanks okay its one prompt roll for each hunter for each day ~ so day one we are 1/5

DAY 1 Quote: 1: The ground shakes beneath your feet and cracks begin to appear in the distance when out of the sand a massive sand worm the size of the Empire State Building bursts out. Between its many segments you see tiny flashes of light that upon (dangerously) closer inspection appear to be suits of armour and weapons. Weapons with glowing runic marks. It towers above you and then smashes down upon the camp, destroying it easily. Roll 2d20 to determine your injuries. Your options are to either portal home and report, or stay and fight the creature known as The Armoury (HP: 9999) After getting settled Cee stepped out to try and survey the surroundings to match what she saw on the map. She was a visual learner and it was easier for her to get up and check for herself. She dragged her eyes over the horizon but... there was a ridge that wasn't there before. And then a rumble. And as the sand rose around her she screamed, "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKKKKK!!" And ran straight back into the tent.

OOC STUFF We still wanna RP goddamnit! So they will be pendanting back to Deus, treated in the infirmary while writing their reports, and then shipped off to another base within the IC hour. Then we'll have Evan, Paige, and Zeke's day 1 rolls to do and we can all hope Cee's perfume doesn't attract the giant sand worm again.

Back At 'Em - Paige Day 1Recovering had kind of really sucked. Paige had no idea how she'd gotten back to the infirmary, but when she woke up she'd undergone some kind of super-intense healing s**t or something. She really wasn't sure if she'd just kind of passed out or if she'd actually been hit. All she knew was that the life techs on duty were being total ******** dicks about getting her out of the infirmary and back into the Sahara. Paige flipped them off as she stalked back to the portal, and after meeting up with America, Zeke, Evan and Cee, they were on their way again. Paige had the feeling she was really going to hate ******** sand by the time this s**t was finished. The group was down in some kind of underground cave when Paige caught sight of a bright blue-green pond of some sort. The sun actually managed to shine down onto the water through a hole in the ceiling of the cave. There was greenery - ******** greenery - surrounding the pond. "You guys see that, or am I just hallucinating?" The oasis up ahead looked really ******** enjoyable. Quote: 71 - 80: You discover an underground oasis. It's very enjoyable. you're welcome

Zeke had totally not been a useless lump during that fight. He'd done s**t. Impressive as <********> s**t.
But then something bigger and badder struck, and, like Paige, he was out for the count before he could so much as utter an exasperated 'oh ******** me.'

Back at 'emThe second Zeke had been allowed to leave the infirmary, he was more than happy to do so. No impatient rushing from the techs required, he was ready to go. He'd never been much of a fan of hospitals, and the fact he couldn't remember how the ******** he'd landed himself there did not help. He was irritated as he met the others back at the light house. At himself, mostly, but it showed in the lines of his face. At least until Paige's arrival. She;d receive a small smile before they were heading back through the portal. As a group they had headed away from camp to do some explorations, and had wound up finding some underground caves, hiding what looked to be a lush oasis. "If it's a hallucination it's effecting more than just you." Zeke blinked, rubbed at sun tired eyes, and looked again. Still green, still wall to wall with greenery, still the most amazing thing he'd seen in the last forty eight hours. "All in favor of taking a moment to explore the oasis?" Who knows, maybe they'd find something worth while.

Lght'em Up - Day 1 ZekeIt was late afternoon, the group was back at the camp, deciding what their next plan of action should be. They'd found the caves and the oasis, but as amazing at the little slice of paradise was, it didn't tell them much. "Maybe there's more in the caves, carvings, or old bits of things." They hadn't finished going through it all, and since that was the extent of their findings so far, it seemed like they should stick with it. At least for now. A buzzing in the distance pulled the Mist's attention from his fellow hunters and out into the rise and fall of the dunes that surrounded their camp. "Do you see that?" He nudged Paige's arm with his elbow, squinting out into the sun baked landscape. There, in the distance, he could see something dark. Not an alley, not out here. "I think we've got company again." Quote: 31 - 60: Horsemen appear and attack your camp or patrol group. ((These can be either player character horseman you invite to battle (which will make your base RP points PVP points and worth 2 instead of 1 rp point) or you can battle against an automob who you will be able to possibly capture.)) Horseman AutoMob (clan/appearance/name are your choice, though do follow the horseman guidelines for such) HP: 60 Auto Damage: 5 Special: Should you bring their HP to either 0 exactly or 1, then you may viably capture them and bring them back to Deus. (Bonus Pay: $3000) otherwise they simply escape or dissipate.

Back At 'EmCee, to be quite honest, was being careful. The oasis made it onto the map she was keeping and since the worm incident she seemed to have been absorbed in the mission file. Enough that her usual attitude seemed slightly subdued on their first day back. As her first external mission she may have been taking it a bit seriously after the last disaster. Perhaps it was paranoia based on the horseman and worm attack at the last site, but as Paige went heading for the water she decided to patrol the cave first. She didn't want some monster exploding out of it and murdering everyone.

Light Em UpCee summoned her whips and charged the enemy. She was no Sun but after the last camp, she'd gone and looked it up. "We get three grand fer catchin it!" America had told them to catch it but she didn't remember hearing just how much it was worth. Paige got a wink out of the corner of her eye: they could have a lot of fun with that money.Concetta was hit to the side by the horseman as it barreled past her but being left in the dust was fine by her. Snap lashed out, binding the enemy around the waist from behind and cutting into it. "GIT IT!" HP: 35/40 Dmg: 8 Charge: 1/3 Mob HP: 52

Back at 'emEvan's first instinct had been to charge the giant monster that had risen up out of the ground, but he rethought that pretty quickly after it effortlessly sent him flying. It looked like Paige was already out for the count. It was with no small sense of regret that he pendanted them back to the island. That had been far too brief. Fortunately, they were getting sent back out again, so it wasn't a total loss. He had been on the lookout for anything that might jump out at them eager to die and was almost disappointed when they stumbled into the oasis. This was too nice, too clean. It was probably a trap. "Hey, hey," he said to Paige, his hand clamping down on her shoulder before she could wander off. "This isn't a vacation," he told her and the other new kid. "If it looks too good to be true, it almost definitely is. We should take a look around and then move on."
